#5 of The Legacy Cycle

The tone changes so i decided to split the chapter up a bit. Chapter three is coming along nicely and expect a lot of trouble between our newest team.

The day passed with Junes giving a tour of the base to Ian. The passed by classrooms, which Junes explained that not all members are of age, so they finish basic learning. The young members are few and far. There were a couple of labs, Gyms, Training rooms, A cafeteria, and a library. "All records of every mission is stored here" the fox explained "Everyone is free to look over missions over two years of age. We also have an extensive library of rare books." In the elevator, Ian noticed a red button at the top "Where does that go?" The human asked, pointing at it. "Don't push that!" the fox yelled a little excited. "S-sorry." Ian apologized, shrinking a bit "I'm sorry." The fox bowed, which made Ian a bit nervous "That goes up to the review board. You only go there if you're baaaaad" Junes extended the word. Ian softly nodded, registering the grave level of the floor. Eventually they entered the dorm wing. "There is.. Like... 7 floors here, with more being built" Each floor was circular with a number down each hallway. The center was the elevator "Emergency exits are on Section Two and four" The fox pointed the respective areas. "You're going to be in One of this first floor, with Terror." The fox looked at Ian "Something wrong?" Ian was fighting with his emotions, he didn't completely know how he felt "I feel helpless" he sighed, letting one win dominance. The fox gave him a soft hug which Ian appreciated "I was as lost as you were. You'll find your way." Ian figured that He and Terror's room would be a wreck; in fact it was almost completely clean. The walls were white, the beds were made, the bathroom spotless. Ian was on to them. He could smell the fresh paint and for a moment felt played again. Something told him Faust knew He would join. The next couple of days were uneventful. True to his word, Faust called him to his office to finish the paperwork. In the place of the once ruined desk stood a brand new one, as cluttered as the previous. Other than that, Ian and Junes spent some time hanging out. The fox and Ian spared once. The fox was really good with throwing arms. The whole time Ian felt the fox was going easy on him. Ian managed to meet a married couple in the morning of his departure. He was up really early and the only ones in there were a Hare and a Lizard. When they spotted each other the rabbit beckoned him over. They exchanged greetings and got to know one another. The couple happened to be leaving that morning as well. They decided to leave early. "I do most of the work." Brogen, the lizard explained. "Between me and my dagger I'm a all around star player." His chest puffed out while he recalled a story "Like the time In shashdale where we went to investigate a series of murders it turned out the whole village was a cult intent on skinning and eating gore, I was the on--Mmmph.." Adelle, the Hare, bashed him in the back of the head, helping the lizard meet his breakfast. "He has a habit of letting his stories get away from him." She chimed and cracked her knuckles "I like to think I was sent to prevent people from being deceived by him." Adelle and Ian shared a chuckle when Brogen came to. "Ow you wench!" Brogen growled "I'll kill you if you do that again!"Adelle stood up, drawing her mace and swung it casually in her hand "Then let's play, honey." She drew out the the "e's" in the last word Brogen broke out in a cold sweat and slowly eased himself out from under the desk. "Bye!" He yelled as he jumped up from the chair, knocking it over. Adelle almost fell over it, giving chase. Ian watched as the couple chased each other a few laps in the room until the hare tackled them and they rolled to a stop in a intimate position. They stared at each other for a long minute and started to kiss, which to the two of them, seemed to last for an eternity. Ian smiled at the sudden warm moment. Then they started to undo one another's outfit and the human frowned Time to go Agreed Although Terror and Ian were not only roommates but field partners , the human has not seen the dragon the entire time. Ian sighed and adjusted his travel bag on his back then left the room. Ian froze as he saw gore down the hall of a floor he did not belong on. Gore on the other hand, for reasons easily understood, was not surprised to see him in the slightest. "The odds of meeting you here." The gator greeted in a husky tone "H- Hi." Ian could feel the energy at the distance they were in, and it was getting stronger as the distance closed. He was attracted and scared. The human couldn't decide which side to answer to. "I heard you start your trail today." Gore stated, not telling him everything. "I do." Ian replied softly. Gore decided to pick up where they left off, He had his hand on the human's abdomen. "I just wanted to wish you luck." Gore said as he softly rubbed. "Thanks. Thank you." Ian spoke too quickly. "No no. I wanted to spend an hour or two wishing you good luck." Gore's hand slid lower and his face closed in to Ian's. The human had given in and slowly parted his lips to meet the gator's "Leave the new guy alone, Scales." Shali called down the hall. The interruption was what Ian needed and he pulled away, mentally and physically. It took him that to realize how close he came to giving in to Gore. In Reply to the scorpion's voice, Gore tensed up and stepped back. "C'mon Shali, I'm just getting to know him." He whined. Shali crossed her arms and tapped her foot impatiently. "And where did you plan to get to know him?" she asked "In his room, of course." Gore stated, offering a big grin. It was Shali's turn to smile. "Do you know who his partner is?" Shali asked. "You should have asked the witness." "Juni-kid?" Gore asked. "Well, who is it?" Gore followed Shali's point and deflated when he saw it led to Terror's room. "Er... I wa-" "You know how a midnight dragons feels about his turf." She chuckled when she saw how deeply Gore's smile left him. Then she beckoned with a finger. "We need to finish getting you ready." She spoke seductively and turned to the elevator and left. Gore was smiling again and Ian again felt nervous from the teeth. "She knows me too well." Gore said more to himself than anything. He started to walk then turned to Ian, Moving in dangerously close again "I'll get you next time." Then he went after the scorpion. That was close. You know, if it weren't for me, you would have let him do it Ian scolded himself. It was shali who saved us. Ian corrected_. But you were caught right under his spell. He uses magic?! It's a figure of speech, Ian. So you're denying that you were caught too? I didn't say that. But you were blaming me, like I was alone in this._ He fell silent to himself "Everytime." Ian grunted and decided to get a small lunch while he still had time. His first mission is about to begin.
