#1 of TLoS: After the war

Chapter 1: The offer.

The story began in a field where the birds sang in nearby trees and the sun shone brightly and Spyro and Cynder laid on the grass and felt happy the war had ended...Hell no! That would be some boring start on a Disney movie or something. If you look down and ignore this beginning the real one shall be revealed.

Sure the war had ended and there was peace in the world once again but the story is set in Warfang and not in some "happy ever after" random place. Everything soon went back to normal for everyone...well mostly.

Most of the dragons had moved to Warfang not only the three remaining Guardians, Spyro and Cynder but also Ember, Flame and a lot more young dragons. And now the story begins after a confusing beginning...

"Spyro, come on we are going to be late for the first day at school!" Cynder yelled as she ran around in the room trying to get everything she needed into her schoolbag... which was almost nothing except an apple and a mirror for some odd reason. "Oh don't worry, you know how Volteer is, he couldn't start anything at time because he always wants to start with a introduction...and you know how long that takes." Spyro said with a tired smile still lying in bed. "I know but we are supposed to get information from Cyril first. Didn't you read the note they sent home?" Cynder asked, as she still ran around like crazy. Spyro sat up in the bed with an almost a horrific look on his face. "Ancestors damn freaking shit!" He yelled as he bounced up and joined Cynder's stressed running.

Due to the war had ended the guardians had decided that the young dragons should start at school. Most of the dragons where exited about it but Spyro mostly wanted a vacation, especially together with Cynder.

After some time they were both done and took of for school, and they arrived just in time it seemed. A whole bunch of other dragons poured into the school in the centre of Warfang. They all followed a hectic stream into the auditorium of the school.

When Spyro and Cynder was about to take a seat next to an ice dragon someone pulled their tales back and made them halt. "You don't wanna sit next to that guy, believe me, he is creepy like 'you know who'." A red dragon said as he wore a serious expression on his face.

"He doesn't look so creepy, and no, I don't know who you refer to when you said; you know who." Spyro answered.

"I heard that he brutally murdered a whole army of enemies during the war, and also some of his allies when they tried to go against him. And 'you know who' is Malefor." The red dragon said. "Well, he doesn't look like a murderer and besides I was the one who killed Malefor so I'm not afraid to use his name." Spyro said as he took a seat next to the blue dragon. The red dragon just stared at Spyro as he first now realised the dragon he talked to had purple scales.

"Well, don't come and tell me I didn't warn you." The red dragon replied as he threw an accusing eye on the blue dragon and walked away. Then a pink dragoness turned up behind the red dragon to join in. "Ye, the safety distant is at least ten meters if you want to keep alive." She said as she turned around and followed the red dragon.

"Don't listen to those two, they are just angry cuz I took these seats." Spyro said as he smiled to the blue dragon. "I don't...but he has a point with what he said." The blue dragon said as he turned to Spyro and reached his paw out to Spyro so they could shake paws. "My name during the war was Hypter the horrible but just call me Hypter." The blue dragon said. Spyro retracted his paw as he felt the cold touch from the ice dragon when they shook paws. "Sorry, I'm not used to shake paws with someone that have fridges instead of paws. Spyro tried to joke. When he heard how rude it sounded he tried to be polite and decided to look Hypter in the eyes instead and say sorry but they weren't much warmer. Hypter's eyes where as cold as ice and as emotionless as a robot. Spyro shuddered a little bit but as he felt Cynder on his back he felt warmer again. "Spyro, don't be so rude, apologise to Hypter." Cynder said.

"I tried to but..." Then Hypter cut Spyro of.

"It's ok, it happens all the time. And by the way, nice to meat you...wait, you must be Spyro, and then you are Cynder well, then it's even more nice to meet you." Hypter said as he gave a faked smile but no one could tell since he was good at faking expressions. He pretended that he hadn't noticed that it was the most famous couple that had taken the seats next to him. Not that it interested him that much really. He was just content with not getting some talkative idiot close to him but then his thoughts of a day with peace and quiet was crushed.

"Excuse me, is this seat taken?" A voice asked as Cynder turned her attention from Hypter to the stranger. "No it's not, feel free to join us." She said to the black dragon that asked the question. "Thanks, oh and by the way, my name is Boltwire." The young dragon said. "I happened to overhear your conversation, it's an honour to meet the two dragons that killed 'the dark master'." Boltwire said as he faced Spyro and Cynder.

"Thanks but I really don't feel the honour for killing someone." Spyro replied.

"Oh, I didn't mean it in that way." Boltwire said with a smile. "I just meant that it is an honour to meet the couple that saved the world." Boltwire said, correcting himself.

The ice guardian, clearing his throat as he began to speak, interrupted their conversation. "Good morning students. For those who don't know me my name is Cyril." Volteer and Terrador walked up beside him as he continued to speak. "And here is Volteer and Terrador, we are the teachers here at the school so far." He said and as soon he finished Volteer began to talk. "I just want to say that I am so exited for the opportunity to teach so many young dragons in the classes I shall have. Oh dear, I almost forgot to say what classes I'm teaching. I'm the teacher in Alchemy, Biology, Social science and English." Volteer explained, babbling as fast as usual. "Ugh...I so hope I wont have many classes with him, I would probably slice his throat just to make him shut up." Hypter stated, making the three dragons beside him look at him and then laugh because they thought it was a joke but when they noticed Hypter was serious they stopped laughing. "I hope Cyril has some cool classes since he seems as cold as me." Hypter said.

Then Cyril continued. "I almost forgot to say that I'm the teacher in Physics and Math."

"Ok, maybe I'll just hope for Terrador to have any fun classes then." Hypter said.

"Well, at least I hope to have Volteer in some classes, he seems like a nice guy." Boltwire said.

Then Terrador spoke up; with his deep voice he explained that he should be the teacher in History, Sport and Geology. "Well, at least it seems like he has the subjects I'm best at." Hypter stated. "He seems so boring." Boltwire said with a chuckle, making Hypter stare at him while he constantly leaking strings of cold air through his entire body. Making the temperature in the auditorium drop several degrees. The first one to react was Spyro. "Hypter, what are you doing?" Spyro asked as he began to shiver at the cold air streaming from his classmate. Hypter didn't answer; he just sat and stared on Boltwire. "Hypter, stop whatever you are doing, right now!" Terrador's booming voice demanded. Making Hypter stop immediately. "Sorry Terrador, it won't happen again." Hypter replied.

"Well, that was all for today, tomorrow the classes will start to run and we look forward to be your teachers." Cyril ended and when he was done all dragons rushed out of the auditorium except six dragons. Hypter, Spyro, Cynder, Ember, Flame and Boltwire.

"Hypter, I want to talk with you." Cyril said shortly.

"Yeah, I know Cyril." Hypter answered.

"Hypter, are you sure you can handle this?" Cyril asked, as he was worried about how Hypter would handle the sudden change. "Yes, yes, I'm fine Cyril, take it easy I won't kill anyone...well maybe Volteer if he doesn't shut up." Hypter answered, making Cyril laugh a little. "Just remember Hypter that after what happened to your squad we must be absolutely sure, if there is anything at all, just come to me or one of the other guardians." Cyril reminded Hypter. "Yeah, I know, can I go now?" Hypter asked.

"Yes, yes, run away with your friends." Cyril answered.

Hypter hadn't even noticed they hadn't left, he knew why Flame and Ember where still there. They just wanted to see him scolded because they didn't like him. When he was done talking to Cyril, Flame and Ember left. But he didn't know why Spyro, Cynder and Boltwire were still there. "Why are you guys still here?" Hypter asked.

"We were waiting for you of course." Boltwire answered with a smile.

"But why would you do that?" Hypter asked. He was smart but this was just a puzzle that he couldn't quite figure out. "We were planning to go out in the woods and wanted to ask if you want to come." Spyro said. Hypter just stood there, he couldn't believe what he heard, some strangers that wanted him to come on a walk in the forest. "Thanks for the offer but I'm quite busy, maybe some other time." He answered. The three dragons seemed a little let down by the answer but didn't waist to much time on it. "Yeah, maybe some other time." Boltwire replied. "Well, see you tomorrow then." Spyro said.

"Yeah, I guess so." Hypter answered as the three dragons left. Hypter was still in the auditorium, as he didn't quite know what to do with the situation. He decided to go home and make some lunch and go from there.

Meanwhile the three dragons had gone out from the school area and they took wings towards the forest. It was nice weather but the dark clouds that moved closer spoke of rain. But the three dragons didn't care about that as they were moving away from the clouds, as they were about to leave Warfang.

When Hypter came home to his small one room apartment in one of the small houses of Warfang he made some quick dinner consisting of tomato soup and a slice of bread. When he looked out of his window he saw the dark clouds and made up his mind. He made some meatball sandwiches and put them in a basket with a bottle of raspberry juice. Then he took of and headed towards the forest.

Spyro, Cynder and Boltwire had already reached the forest and they decided to just sit under a tree for a while and talk. "So Boltwire, are you new here?" Spyro asked, since it was the first time he had seen the black dragon. "Well, depends on how you see it. I lived here with my parents when I was a little hatchling but when the war began they sent me away to my uncle. But now that the war have ended I wanted to come back here, if I had to spend more time with my uncle I would probably jump over my teenage and adult period and turn to a pensioner. And to sit in a hammock and eat small cookies is the last thing I want to do the rest of my life." Boltwire said.

"So, was your uncle kind?" Cynder asked.

"Yeah but he was kinda strict too, he said that I under no circumstances should use my powers before I was properly trained, he was to old and since the war have ended it's no one that teaches it anymore." Boltwire answered.

"What about your parents, who is it that you inherited your element from?" Spyro asked.

"I inherited my electricity from my father...but he can't teach me it anymore." Boltwire replied. "Why not?" Cynder asked but as soon as she had asked the question she understood why when she saw the face expression on Boltwire. "He can't since he died in the war, apparently he was one of the last to go down. What I know he was killed when Malefor's minions rushed the city." Boltwire explained.

"I'm sorry for your loss...but maybe I can train you." Spyro said after a while.

"Really? Could you do that? That would be freaking awesome, to be trained of the purple dragon." Boltwire almost bounced on the news that Spyro would train him.

Then suddenly there was a loud bang and the three dragons saw a lightning shape in the dark sky, suddenly the rain began to pour down. "Oh this was just awesome, how are we going to get back to Warfang in this weather? We can't fly and if we should walk all the way we will certainly grab a cold." Boltwire complained. "It's not that bad, we can take shelter under this tree until the rain has passed." Cynder said but then her stomach began to growl. "Oh drat, ok that was unsuspected." She said as Spyro and Boltwire laughed a little. "And the stupid tree isn't stopping the rain that much either, we will catch a even if we just stand here." She said as she began to get soaked.

Then the water stopped to drip down on them but it took a while for them to notice. "Is it just me or has it stopped to drip from the tree?" Boltwire asked.

"Now that you mention it I haven't felt it drop for quite some time now." Spyro answered.

"Anyone who is hungry?" A voice said, coming from above the three dragons.

"Who's there?" Spyro said and growled a little since he was taken by surprise.

"Hey, you don't have to get so worked up Spyro it's just me." Hypter answered as he dived down from a branch. "How long have you been up in the tree?" Cynder asked.

"Oh about five minutes, I decide to drop by and say hi, oh and I took some food with me." Hypter answered. "Oh great, I'm starving." Cynder said as she pounced Hypter. "So, where is it?" Cynder asked, looked at Hypter with huge doggy eyes as she had him pinned down to the ground. "Hey, take it easy, I have it in the basket behind the tree." Hypter said and let out a laugh.

When Cynder went back around the tree she found the basket and when she opened it she looked at the content. "Meatball sandwiches and raspberry juice!" She exclaimed.

"Does she always get so exited over food?" Hypter asked Spyro.

"Yup, you should have seen her when we were without food for a week when we were on our way to fight Malefor. Then we found some berry bushes and wow...I couldn't hear the rest of that day." Spyro laughed.

"So, shall we eat now then?" Cynder asked as she had carried the basket to the others.

"Sure, it's just to dig in." Hypter said, and that was more or less what Cynder did.

After some minutes when all had eaten up their sandwiches and drinked up their raspberry juice and had rested for a while Cynder burped suddenly.

"Ops, I'm sorry, sometimes I just can't help myself." She said, as the three other dragons began to laugh. "So, shall we get going?" Hypter asked.

"But it's still pouring down." Cynder said.

"Ye but I'll freeze the water in some meters around me so if you stay close to me when you are flying you wont get wet." Hypter explained. "That's why it stopped to drip from the tree, I'm holding up a barrier of cold air that's freezing the water, I can show what I mean if I lower the barrier a little closer to us." Hypter said as he focused on bringing his barrier further down. The three other dragons just watched in amazement as a white shield of frozen water was lowered from above the tree branches, it broke in several places when it was forced into some branches. "Now that you have seen that you don't have to worry about your wings getting wet, can we head back to Warfang now?" Hypter asked.

"Ye, lets get going." Boltwire said with a smile. "I guess we all have to prepare for school next morning." He continued, to which the three other dragons gave a nod in agreement.

The flight back to Warfang went well, it was easy to fly in the wide area of which Hypter's barrier reached.

"Guess we see you guys tomorrow in school then?" Spyro said as he was going in a different direction than Hypter and Boltwire. "Ye, I guess so." Hypter and Boltwire replied.

"So Boltwire, where do you live?" Hypter asked.

"I live in the east side of the city." Boltwire replied.

"So do I, do you want have company back to where you live?" Hypter asked.

"Sure, besides I don't have to get wet if you follow me, you living umbrella." Boltwire joked as they started to walk to their homes.

The next day in school, after the first class, Spyro and Cynder bumped into Flame and Ember, of course Flame and Ember didn't just bump into them with no meaning at all.

"So, rumour has that you and the creepy dragon and the new guy had company yesterday." Fame said to Spyro. "Yeah, so what?" Spyro asked.

"Well since you are the purple dragon you have to think of with whom you accompany yourself with. The wrong people are bad for your image you know." Flame said with a grin.

"What do you mean with; wrong people? Is there something wrong with Hypter and Boltwire?" Spyro asked a little angry.

"Well, it's just that if you don't want to be considered as one of the lower ranked dragons in the school you better chose your friends wisely." Flame said.

"What do you mean by that?" Cynder asked, as she too was getting irritated.

"Well, if you see it like this; if you are cool but hang around with the losers you will be considered a looser yourself." Ember answered.

"Why are you calling Boltwire and Hypter losers?" Spyro asked.

"Well, for example, Boltwire is a nobody that didn't participate in the war and he is new around here and he happens to live in the east district. So does Hypter, and he is also considered a murderer of many foes but friends alike." Flame answered.

"So, is it anything wrong with living in the east district?" Cynder asked.

"Yea, it's where all the poor people lives, orphan, injured or just simply poor. What I heard of there is a lot of crimes there as well." Flame said.

"So depending on where you live and what you did during the war you are judged as a looser or a cool guy?" Spyro asked.

"Yep, that's right." Ember replied with a smile.

"That's horrible, how can you guys be so cruel? Judging someone from where they live and what they did or didn't do in the war." Cynder said.

"Hmm, sounds like you already taken their side. Well have fun being a nobody the rest of your life Spyro, Cynder." Flame said as he and Ember walked away.

"Can you believe that Spyro? How can they be so cruel?" Cynder asked.

"Well, I don't have something against being a nobody. I have been a hero almost my entire life, maybe I can be left alone now at least." Spyro replied, as he and Cynder walked towards the next lesson.

The rest of the morning went quite well, the lessons were boring for sure but at least they were better than doing nothing. The time went fast and it was soon time for the dinner, all dragons and dragonesses went to the dinner room to get something to eat. That they it was soup that was being served. Hypter had already gotten a bowl of soup and had taken a seat at the table in the right corner in the dining room. At least one table from where he sat was empty in the direction that wasn't blocked by a wall. But he actually enjoyed the peace and quiet. Boltwire stood in the line to get some soup and didn't notice that Flame was behind him. When Boltwire had received the bowl with soup he saw Hypter sitting by himself and decided to join. But halfway there he felt something before his hind leg and he tripped forward just to dip his snout down in the soup. Luckily for him the soup was cold due the fact it was the first day the kitchen was used in years.

He noticed that all the other dragons where laughing at him and he felt embarrassed and decided to look over his shoulder to see what had made him trip. There Flame stood with a big grin on his face. "Better watch where you are going, too bad the soup wasn't hot, then maybe you would have learned something about to watch where you are standing." Flame said. "What do you mean? I was just standing in front of you; there was no need to put your tail in front of me." Boltwire said, getting irritated as he realized Flame did it with purpose.

"On the contrary, you stood in front of me in the line and I don't like that." Flame replied.

"Wait, you made me trip because of that?" Boltwire asked, as he was getting more and more irritated by how Flame acted. "Yeah, isn't that a good enough reason?" Flame said and grinned wider. But his grin was soon erased when Boltwire pounced him and hit him in the head with his tail. "What do you think you are doing you son of a no good!" Ember said, as she was stunned that someone was dumb enough to pounce on Flame. "Get of me!" Flame yelled as he pushed Boltwire away with his hind legs and prepared to burn him with his flame breath. "Cut it out Flame, he is not one you should mess with." Hypter said coldly as he had put up a huge wall of ice between Flame and Boltwire, still sitting at his table and lapping at the soup. "Yeah, and who should stop me?" Flame asked without thinking what he asked. "Stupid question to ask someone you say have murdered both friends and foes in cold blood." Hypter answered coldly. Flame said nothing, he just got up and gave Boltwire a stare that said; lucky you, you happens to have that one as a friend. As he walked past Boltwire and took a seat in the opposite corner of where Hypter sat.

"Thanks, thought I was toasted there for a while." Boltwire said as he sat down beside Hypter.

"No problem, just make sure you don't get in front of him in the line. He seems to be that kind of guy that thinks he is number one." Hypter said with a laugh.

"Yeah...oh look, there is Spyro and Cynder. Hey Spyro, wanna sit here? There is plenty of space." Boltwire yelled over the whole dining room.

"Yeah sure, we'll be right there." Spyro yelled in reply and waved.

"Spyro, why won't you come and sit here instead?" Flame said as he waved at Spyro.

"If you don't notice it there is no space left there." Spyro said in reply.

"Well that can easily be solved." Flame replied.

"Two of you have to move." Flame said to those who sat at the same table. But no one wanted to move closer to Hypter after the little show. "Move it!" Flame yelled as he pushed two dragons of the chairs. "Nah it's ok let them sit, I'll go down and sit with the non violent guys, Cynder and I happens to like the peace and quiet after the war." Spyro said in reply as he and Cynder walked down and sat beside Boltwire and Hypter. Flame just muttered to himself as he realized that Spyro and Cynder would be friends with the low lives. He watched as his chance to become really popular slowly but certainly slipped through his claws. And he didn't like it at all, he had to make something about it and he came up with a solution; he had to make Boltwire and Hypter angry at Spyro or vice versa. But the only thing he didn't know was how he was supposed to succeed with that.

The day went by pretty fast according to the students, the lessons weren't that hard and the teachers took it easy the firs day with real lessons. When the school had ended Hypter planned on inviting his three newfound friends home for dinner. So as friendly as he could, he asked to come over for dinner, and they all gladly accepted.

As soon as Hypter came home he started to prepare the dinner, he didn't have much but he knew that even simple dishes could be very tasty. He decided to make Bolognese because it is a simple and cheap dish to make. He planned to serve it with a slice of bread and to desert he would make a chocolate cake.

Later that evening his guests arrived, and just in time too. Hypter showed them his small apartment, and then they took a seat around the dinner table.

"Flame said that this district would be full of crime but I haven't even hear a sound, it's even more quiet than in the west part where we live." Spyro said.

"I think it's because of me, for some reason there is a rumour that I killed allies...well that isn't true. But I used the rumour and spread that whoever messed around would get me after them as a consequence." Hypter said and smiled.

"But why do you don't do something about the rumour if it's false?" Cynder asked.

"Well...I like to be alone in peace and quiet so I haven't had any downside about it so far, except maybe some may think of me as a monster. But since I don't care about others opinions I just let the rumour be." Hypter said.

"So...when it's hallows eve you don't have to dress up?" Boltwire asked after sitting quiet the whole evening. "Well...I haven't been on any hallows eve party's before so I don't know. But no, I would probably not dress up." Hypter answered.

"Ehm, it was a joke...you take everything so seriously." Boltwire complained.

"Well, by now you should know that I have a tendency to do that." Hypter sighed. "So...how was the dinner?" Hypter asked. "Pull my claw and I'll tell you." Boltwire said with a grin. Hypter who didn't understand the joke did as he was told; Spyro was just about to warn Hypter when Boltwire burped loudly. "Hahaha that is what I think of your food." Boltwire said. Spyro and Cynder watched tensed when Hypter's face expression changed from chocked to annoy to...content? "Ehm...Hypter, how come you look so...how shall I put it, undisturbed by the fact that Boltwire just burped loudly?" Spyro asked.

"Simply because it's a old fashioned way to thank for the dinner. And since Boltwire grew up with his uncle I bet he has learned it from him." Hypter replied.

"Yup, that's true." Boltwire said with a nod.

"Well, then I agree with Boltwire." Spyro said and let out a burp too.

"Spyro! When are you going to grow up?" Cynder said as she thought his manners were embarrassing and a bit disgusting. "If it means turning into something like the guardians, hopefully never." Spyro said with a laugh.

After some more chit chatting and some story telling it was getting late and the three guests was noticing how much the clock was.

"Oh, it's getting late Spyro, maybe we should get going, after all its school tomorrow." Cynder said. "Yeah, I guess you have right." Spyro replied. "Thanks for the tasty dinner Hypter, hopefully we can invite you over sometime." Spyro said.

"Oh you don't have to do that and besides, I can't let you leave." Hypter said as he grinned.

"W-what do you mean Hypter?" Cynder asked, as she got nervous.

"I'm saying that I can't let you three dragons go, if you want to say anything you should say it now since you wont be living for so long." Hypter said in a cold voice. Spyro and Cynder began to dart towards the door but were stopped when they were frozen to the floor. They began to panic and tried to brake free from the ice. Then they heard Boltwire laugh, and then Hypter joined in as well. "I'm just pulling your tails, I'm not going to kill you two, it was just a joke. Boltwire told me to do it since he thought that with my cold personality I could pull something like this off." Hypter explained as the ice around Spyro and Cynder shattered.

"That really wasn't funny Hypter, you really scared us there." Spyro said, he was angry because he didn't know what to think about it because of the rumours. "Yeah Hypter, it wasn't funny." Cynder agreed with Spyro.

"I'm sorry, I just couldn't resist to do it, and it sounded really fun when Boltwire explained it to me. But the last thing I can do now is to escort you home, the criminality is low...but I can't ensure anything now when it's almost night." Hypter said, Spyro and Cynder said it wouldn't be necessary but Hypter insisted and after a while they accepted the friendly gesture.

While the four dragons walked towards Spyro and Cynder's apartment they talked a little, just briefly but enough to keep a good conversation up.

"So, you are working with making ice sculptures Hypter." Spyro said after Hypter told the three dragons what he worked with. "Mostly, yes...but since it's not usual that someone wants ice sculptures I have to take other jobs. Mostly I work with selling ice cream, it's not the best job ever but I get paid enough to keep my apartment and to get food so I don't complain. And my employer don't complain either since the cool air that constantly leaks from my body keeps the ice cream frozen so he doesn't have to use a fridge." Hypter said.

"Wait, what about your parents? Don't they pay the rent?" Spyro asked.

"No, dad died away when I was a hatchling and my mom passed away when I was out in war. My dad died in the war when he was overwhelmed by a group of apes. It broke her down and as more and more dragons that she knew died, she slowly faded away. I decided to go out to war, mostly to revenge my father...after that she became ill and it didn't take long before she died, at least according to Cyril."

"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that..." Spyro said, as he didn't know what else to say. "Wait, Cyril? Did he know your mother?" Spyro asked, curios as usual.

"Yes, it's ironic actually, he and my father were distant cousins but close friends. And after my father died Cyril helped my mother out a lot, you know, he was there for her and all that other sentimentally rubbish. But I guess he couldn't help her with the broken heart of hers. He knew I was out in war so he couldn't inform me because the risk of the risk I would act the feelings out. Of course it wouldn't have mattered because I was cold anyway...all the way through my body, it's something common to ice dragons. Cyril, as you might have noticed, isn't much for emotions either." Hypter explained.

"But, if he is related to you, why won't he help you out?" Cynder asked.

"Well, he kind of holds me responsible for my mothers death and I don't blame him for that, the first year after I returned home I could live on what my parents left on the bank...but as I said, I have to work for the living now." Hypter answered.

First now it struck Spyro and Cynder that the food Hypter shared with them probably was what he should eat for the rest of the week, they looked at each other and knew they were thinking the same. The thought of being so blind disgusted them both; they looked at Boltwire but assumed he didn't understand it since he strutted along as he had the whole time. They didn't talk much the rest of the way.

As they arrived to the house, Hypter and Boltwire thought it was something they shared with about ten other dragon couples to be able to pay. Hypter and Boltwire just stood and stared at it in awe. "Wow, how many other dragons are you sharing this place with?" Hypter asked.

"None." Spyro and Cynder answered blankly. The two other dragons' jaws dropped.

"Did you just say; none?" Hypter asked, he couldn't believe his ears.

"Yup, we got it as a gift since we saved the world." Spyro answered with a chuckle.

"Oh, I could kill for something like that..."Hypter said, then he noticed the look on the three other dragons. "Well not literally of course." Hypter continued with a laugh.

"Well, why don't you come and live here with us? We have plenty of space, as you probably can see." Spyro said with a smile.

"Oh, I couldn't...I mean I don't want to intrude." Hypter said, shocked at the sudden offer.

"Well, you won't, and besides, you could cook the dinner. Because that is something you really can do very well." Cynder said.

"What! You mean I can live here for free? No I really can't...at least I must insist to pay rent or something." Hypter said, still in a bit of chock.

"Oh don't be silly Hypter, Cynder and I live here for free, everything is paid and it's hours as long as we want. Just accept the offer Hypter and beside, we don't mind company since it's a little big for only two dragons." Spyro said.

"Well...I guess I will have to accept. When can I move in?" Hypter asked.

"Right away." Cynder answered with a smile.

"Really? Wow...well, then I'll have to go home and grab some things. I'll come back as soon as I have grabbed them and escorted Boltwire home." Hypter said as he turned around and took wings, Boltwire following closely behind.

When they where on the way home to Boltwire, Hypter felt something hit his head and he fell towards the ground. Luckily for Hypter, Boltwire was fast enough to catch him before he hit the hard stone the street was made of.

After some seconds Boltwire could identify the attacker, it was Flame. "Flame, what in the ancestors shit hole do you think you are doing!" Boltwire yelled.

"I'm just repaying what he did to me earlier today." Flame answered with a grin.

"He didn't hurt you! He just stopped you from starting a fight with me!" Boltwire yelled, he didn't like that Flame was so calm. "That's the point, I'm here to fight you both because I didn't get the possibility to fight you at the school because of that monster." Flame replied. Then he sprinted towards Boltwire to tackle him but Boltwire dodged and he understand he had to fight Flame there and then. As Flame came charging against him again he felt something deep inside him, it was a sparkling feeling. And with a roar he unleashed a black net of electricity around him, preventing Flame from getting close. Flame tried to breath fire at them but the electricity field acted as a barrier so the fire didn't get through.

After some minutes of trying to break through the barrier Flame gave up. "I'll see you two later. Don't think I'll forget this you bastards!" He yelled as he fly away. First now Boltwire noticed that Hypter was unconscious, so he decided to take him to his apartment. When he got there his mom didn't react the way he thought. She didn't ask about anything and she took care of Hypter the best she could, saying; we can take the questions tomorrow when your friend is awake. Boltwire didn't argue about that since it was getting late and he felt drained after using his element the first time in his life. It didn't take long for Boltwire to fall asleep that night, as he drifted away he couldn't help but to think about what could possibly happen the next day...
