#6 of Pokemorph Virus

He grumbled a little as he stepped out behind her, his fur getting wet after he had taken so long to dry it again after his shower. He sighed a little, looking like a wet dog in the rain his feet were well in a puddle, he also noticed, getting his white fur muddy. "Alright..." he sighed slightly, beginning to slosh through the muck. Whatever was causing this wasn't going to make the trip pleasant, he sighed.

She was soaked, but unlike him, didn't have any fur to cling to her and she didn't have to go through the muck. She floated by his side as they trudged out of Fortree and headed towards the forest again. Well at least once they arrived at the forest; they would be given shelter against most of the water. She winced slightly as a streak of lightning rolled across the sky and there was the low rumble of thunder, a ways off. He winced a little at the thunder, but only because it was surprising.

"I bet it's a Kyogre." he muttered. "Not much else can do this kind of thing. castforms don't have enough power." he muttered, sloshing out of town and in the direction of the forest. Now, there were almost no pokemon in the area as they started moving into the tall grass.

"Mmm..." She nodded with a sort of far off look in her eyes as she thought. Finally she snapped back into it and looked to him. "What are we going to do if it is a Kyogre?" She asked him. If it was a Kyogre morph and was on Team Aqua's side, she doubted they could just ask it nicely to stop. Even a wild one they had been enraged would be very hard to calm without fighting.

He blinked, stopping in his tracks. He hadn't exactly thought about what they would do if they found the morph... He blinked again. "I... didn't think that far ahead. we would probably have to fight against it, if it was controlling this." he pondered.

She paused as well with a sigh. "Jeeze... Think we could take on a legendary?" She wondered out loud, asking herself more than him. True she was a pretty good trainer in order to be a bodyguard, but she worked with her pokemon when they battled. Battling herself was nothing that had ever occurred to her back when there was no virus. And even if she had skill, battling wild pokemon and a legendary were two totally different things.

"Most likely, no." he sighed a little. "They aren't called legendaries for no reason, you know. Most likely we won't get very far in a battle with a true legendary pokemon..." he grimaces, trying not to think about the outcome. "We have to first find out what we're dealing with, though," he added as another bolt of lightning went past above them.

She nodded. No use worrying about it until they knew what exactly they would be facing. Plus, there was no guarantee that this was Kyogre, in whatever way, shape or form. It could be something else entirely. "Well, we won't know until we reach Sootopolis, so forward we go." She said, trying to change it to a positive note as she floated forward. A small disturbing thought wormed its way into her head that sent a chill up her spine, but she kept it there.

He noticed she floated on, but saw he shake a little. "Something wrong?" he asked, putting his hands behind his head as he walked, tilting his head slightly. He closed one eye as it got rained on, but kept his focus on her.

She looked back at him; a little surprised he had notice the small shiver. "Nah, it's nothing." She said with a reassuring smile. She looked forward again. They were almost to the forest, just a little more ways and then they would be under the cover of the leaves.

he saw the forest ahead, and smiled, but then growled a little as he stepped into a hole in the ground that was filled with water, it going up to his waist. "Damn, now I'm all muddy and disgusting..." he grumbled as he treaded out of the hole, shaking his rear to get some of the mud out, with not much success. He only managed to spread it around him.

She stifled a laugh as she watched him get covered in mud. "Heh, no mud for me." She teased, floating above him now, covering him from the rain. It was the least she could do after him getting covered in mud like that.

He smiled as he had a momentary relief from the rain pelting him, looking up as she floated above him. "I can see up your skirt, you know," he said with a joking tone. After a moment, he blushed slightly; he really could. Nothing he didn't see before, though.

"Well, lucky for you, I'm wearing pants underneath, ne?" She asked him jokingly as well with a wide grin. Exactly why she was wearing pants too, so she could float wherever without anyone catching a peak of anything they weren't supposed to.

He chuckled a little. "I can see through the pant leg," he added, bending his head a little so he could see. "Ah, there it is," he joked, laughing as he walked.

She blushed deeply as she realized the joke was on her this time. "Well, fine then." She said, and floated down next to him so it was raining on his head again and he couldn't see up her skirt. "I win." She declared and stuck her tongue out at him playfully.

He sighed a little, figuring she would do something like that. He glanced around, and then saw the forest was right ahead of them. He moved under the trees, in the direction of lilycove, and saw that there was less rain coming down now. "I win," he said with a smile, sticking his tongue out too.

"Fine, you win then." She finally admitted defeat before floating up a little and ruffling his hair. Just so he didn't get off the hook so easily. She had expected more pokemon to be taking refuge in here, and while she saw a few, she didn't see nearly as many as she had expected. "Huh... I wonder where all the pokemon went..." She said out loud.

He looked around, having not noticed the lack of pokemon. After a moment, he nodded. "Yeah, you'd think they would be hiding in the dry areas..." he muttered, walking through the underbrush below his feet, shuffling through the forest.

She looked around one last time and sighed. "Ah, they're probably around here somewhere, hiding out until the rain passes." She said with a shrug. Pokemon had a way of hiding pretty well when they didn't want to be found, either by humans or by the rain.

He nodded a little. it was still odd hearing not much but them moving through the forest and the rain above them. "Calm," he said softly, looking around as they walked on, maneuvering through the trees.

"Unnervingly so..." She agreed, believing he meant that the forest was calm. Normally taking trips through here, she was used to hearing the creatures run about and such. Now all that was heard was the pitter of the rain and the occasional faint cry of some pokemon that had managed to get itself stuck in the mud. The calm of it almost made her a bit nervous.

Suddenly, something had moved in front of them. He stopped first, waiting. "What was that?" he asked, glancing to her to see if she saw it, getting into what seemed like a battle ready stance.

She stopped floating and landed on the ground, feeling the water seep around her feet. "I don't know..." She said, standing next to him. It couldn't be a wild pokemon; Absol had said the attacks would end once they were pokemorphs. Then the thought that it might be one of those trainers who tried to catch morphs came to mind, but who would be insane enough to go out in this rain? She stood a little tensely, not sure whether the thing was friend or foe, but not willing to take the chance. Her eyes looked around the forest, but saw nothing. She glanced over her shoulder, but saw nothing as well.

Suddenly, a black blur jumped out to their left. "What are you thinking?!" the figure shouted to them, before dashing in front of their path. It was a girl, and a sneazel morph at that. She had claws on each hand, and her head was topped with several red feathers. She wasn't wearing anything except scraps of panties. "The pokemorph wranglers were just through here!" she said hurriedly, waving her claws a little. "They might be back in any moment, like last time!"

She had just been ready to attack the black figure until she saw it was a Sneasel morph. She relaxed slightly and then gave her a confused look as she yelled at them.

"Pokemorph... Wranglers?" She asked, not understanding before it clicked in her mind that those where the trainers capturing pokemorphs, no doubt, and probably the reason behind why the girl was only wearing tattered panties. "Crap..." She growled. She had no intention of being captured, thank you very much, nor was she going to allow Mike to be captured. "Are you alright and how close do you think they are?" She asked quickly.

"They came by about an hour ago," she told them. "We managed to fend them off, but they seemed to be headed for lilycove." she sighed, looking down slightly. "There's... a small group of us further in the forest. They didn't find the village we set up, but they came pretty close. They'll probably capture you if you aren't careful..." she warned.

So they were safe here, for now then and the Sneasel was safe as well in her village. She was going to suggest the Sneasel come with them, but seeing how they were traveling in the direction of the wranglers... It would be better if she stayed here then went with them anywhere. Of course, now she wasn't too sure they were heading to Lilycove anymore. "Mike, what should we do?" She asked him, wondering if they should take the risk and make time, or if they should hide out in the forest and waste some of it.

He was pondering, his hand to his chin slightly as he thought about it. "The wranglers knew about the village?" he asked, looking to the sneazel girl.

"They seemed to know the directions, which not many humans do." she sighed.

"hm... they'll probably come back..." he pondered, pacing a bit. "Perhaps we should look into this village..." he thought aloud. Kat nodded. It seemed to make more sense, to wait until the wranglers were away from Lilycove before going. And if the wranglers did find them, they would have a much better chance at fending them off with a group of pokemorphs then just the two of them, strategically speaking. "Do you mind if we come with you to the village?" She asked the Sneasel, making sure if it was alright.

She nodded. "It's pretty small, but we might have a hut you two can stay in if you'll be long," she said, then turned to head off into the forest. "Follow me, alright?" she called as she started off. Michael got onto all fours, regardless of the mud, and started to run after her, blinking a little.

Kat floated again and followed them, weaving in and out of the trees, careful to keep her eyes on both Mike's white fur and the tree's themselves, not wanting a repeat of the race they had at Fortree. She wondered how far off the village was and what other pokemorphs lived there besides the Sneasel.

It didn't take long before they came to the outskirts of a clearing, the Sneasel girl stopping and turning back to them. "Remember, only pokemorphs are invited to this village... don't take anyone you don't trust." she nodded, and then lead them in, Michael following. He grimaced as he saw the trees thin out and the rain continue again.

She looked up as they felt all of the rain again, but didn't hesitate in following the Sneasel. There was really no problem about her telling anyone, she doubted she would remember the location by heart, and she wasn't dumb enough to tell just anyone of the village.

The village was small, like she said; there were several makeshift huts set up around the border of the area, and what looked like little shops set up in the clearing in the middle. There were pokemorphs everywhere, but there were only a handful; maybe forty or fifty at most. They stepped forward, looking at it. "Interesting," Michael muttered as he looked at it, the Sneasel morph nodding.

"Wow." Kat said, smiling as she looked at the village. It was nice and while it was small, she found it to be actually better that way. She was also amazed at how many types of pokemorphs there were, but she didn't show it. "This place seems awesome." She grinned while floating a little higher to see a little more of it.

The sneazel morph smiled a little. "It works for a home," she admitted, running into the pokemorphs for a moment. She swerved around pokemorphs, and then found one in particular who was overseeing the construction of a new hut. She dragged the pokemorph to them, presenting them to him.

"Dad, I found these two in the woods... I figured we could keep them here until the wranglers leave us alone," she explained to a ryhdon morph, who nodded.

"It's always a pleasure to help another pokemorph. I'm Hal, this is Jace." he said, motioning to his daughter. "Michael and Kat," Michael said, nodding to them.

"Nice to meet you," She smiled and gave a small little wave, standing a little behind Mike. She didn't want to offend anyone or anything, but Ryhorns and Rydons made her nervous, and even if he was a pokemorph, there still was that little tug in her mind. Regardless, she kept it well hidden with a smile.

"Ah, no need to get worried about me, Miss," he said over a thunderbolt above. "I'd be more worried about the water, myself." he laughed a little. "Anyway, do you two want a hut for the time being? Those wranglers might come back any moment, and even if they don't, we can't have you out in this weather," he said, looking up a little. Michael looked back to Kat, as if asking what she wanted to do.

She gave a small sigh of relief when he had started laughing. Laughter was usually a good thing. She finally felt safe and relaxed enough to come out and stand beside Michael as she nodded. "Yeah, a hut would be nice, if you don't mind." She said, rubbing the back of her head a little. They were soaked out in this rain, and though they could deal with it, it would be nice to get out of the foul weather.

"Alright, follow me," he said, turning to lead them to the huts. They passed by many pokemorphs of all shapes and sizes, of different genders and with different states of clothing. Most didn't have anything on, Michael noticed as they approached a small hut, Hal opening the door for them. "Here you are, your welcome as long as you like." he said over the rain on the roof, letting them inside.

Kat also had noticed that some of the morphs lacked clothes which accounted for the small blush on her cheeks. She was brought back down to reality though when Hal finally stopped at the hut they would be staying at. "Thanks." She said as she walked in, relishing the warmth of the cozy hut as it kept some of the wet chill of the rain out.

He nodded to them, leaving them to their own devices and bringing his daughter out as well. "Nice little set up, huh." he said as he looked around the hut. it wasn't small, but it wasn't huge either. It had a bed at one end, and a table and chairs to the side of the room, with a few other items on the desk. He took a look around, then stepped outside to shake himself off a bit, even though it was raining still. He came in, still pretty wet but dryer than before. "Nice of them to let us stay," he commented.

"Yeah, and it's pretty amazing, how there's so many different pokemorphs..." She agreed as she sat down in one of the chairs. "I'm kinda surprised that nobody's ever found this place, but I guess that's a good thing." She said with a grin. If somebody had found this place, it certainly wouldn't be here, based on what Jace had said about the wranglers.

"It couldn't have been around long, and it IS pretty far in the forest," he nodded, sitting down on the edge of the bed, thinking quietly as he swung his legs. There had been a lot of stuff to take in today, but he couldn't clear up a lot of it. So he remained quiet, listening to the rain outside.

She shrugged as he proved his point. Still... The Sneasel girl had mentioned that the wranglers had been close last time, so when they came back... She honestly didn't want to think about it but couldn't help it. She absentmindedly unhooked one of her empty pokeballs and opened it, simply examining the inside of the ball. She couldn't imagine what it felt like to be caught, and she could only hope she would never find out.

He blinked, watching her take out a pokeball. He went into his bag, also pulling out a pokeball. He thought a moment, then tapped it against his head. It opened up and a red beam of energy shot out at him, giving him a small zap. "erk!" he grumbled, but it didn't even try to capture him. "hm. pokeballs won't work." he blinked.

"Ack!" She cried, startled as he had tried that on himself, causing her to fall off her chair. "Okay, warn me before you experiment on yourself, please." She grumbled, looking up at him from the floor. Almost had a bloody heart attack. She got off the floor and dust herself off. "Alright then, now that we have that figured out, my next question is what do these wranglers do then?" She asked him.

He rubbed his chin. " I've heard of other methods of capturing pokemon in other lands, but nothing in Hoenn they could do..." he muttered, scratching his head. "We'll have to see if they do something special," he nodded a little, and then realized he probably wouldn't like to come face to face with a wrangler's capture method.

She nodded and shivered. She could think of a couple could be ways, none of them at all pleasant. "I really hope they don't find this place, it would be terrible..." She said with a shake of her head. There were advantages and disadvantages to being in a village like this. The advantage was strength in numbers, which also proved to be a major disadvantage since now they were all gathered here in one spot.

He nodded a little. "They seem capable, though. They've got power enough to stop any humans who come by here... but..." he bit his thumb slightly, walking over to her. "When we find a cure... what would happen here?" he asked, but shook his head. "I'm getting ahead of myself. Priorities..." he muttered.

"I guess... this place will be gone." She sighed. When they found the cure, they would become human again and then maybe leave and go back to their old lives or perhaps stay and keep the village living. Either way though, this gathering of pokemorphs would be non existent, or so the core of the village would be gone. But then he mentioned priorities, which brought her out of the thoughts. "Right, priorities." She smiled.

He sighed a little, then got up and looked out a small makeshift window outside. he then went back to the bed, flopping down on it. "This rain is starting to get on my nerves." he grumbled, flipping onto his stomach.

"Well, it's nice music, if nothing else. But, I do want to see the sky again, not just grey clouds and water." She admitted. She went and sat down on the bed, with her legs to the side, gently swinging her legs as she lightly hummed.

He sat down next to her, leaning back on the bed as he exhaled. "It's just going to leave us in here for a while, though." he said, then laughed a little.

She nodded and flopped back so she was lying down and looking up at the roof. "Aw, you make it sound as if being stuck in here with me is a bad thing." She said playful grinning, showing she didn't mean anything by it.

"Aw, of course I didn't mean it like that," he smiled, a hand moving down and brushing past her hair slightly, smiling playfully.

"Mm, good, else I would have to bop you over the head." She grinned and playfully stuck out her tongue as his hand passed by her hair.

"Don't be mean," he grumbled, brushing his hand through his own hair as he put his hands behind his head, looking at the ceiling. He pondered something, but shook his head, figuring it wouldn't work to ask.

She caught the small movement from the corner of her eye, and turned so she was facing him, head propped up on her elbow. "What's up?" She asked, wondering what he had just thought of.

He shook his head. "Nothing, nothing," he assured her, putting an arm around her shoulder gently. "Just enjoying the moment," he smiled to her.

She just mentally sighed and pushed it to the back of her head. No use worrying about something he wasn't going to tell her. Once he put his arm around he shoulder, she snuggled a little closer to him, enjoying the warmth.

He gently put his head to her shoulder, exhaling a little. The rain above them was almost monotonous to him, but he ignored it, focusing on her heartbeat instead. He looked up to her, and then kissed her cheek gently.

She smiled softly at the feel of the kiss and closed her eyes, listening to the subtle melody she could here drum out by the rain. It wasn't at all monotonous to her, she heard the small rhythms that sounded and seemed to almost link with the sound of their breathing as she lightly kissed his lips.

He broke the kiss, smiling a little. The rain seemed to have a slight melody to it when he kissed her, and he smiled, not moving far from her face as he looked into her colorful eyes.

She looked back into his red eyes, returning the smile. He looked gorgeous with his white fur and red eyes, the black horn coming from the side of his head and the slight muscles she felt underneath the fur as she ran a finger along them.

"You're beautiful." She breathed softly, then blushed as she realized she had said that out loud. Some guys took it as more of an insult than a compliment, so she would just have to hope he would take it in the way that it was meant.

He smiled, his eyes lighting up as she said that. He looked into her blue and gold eyes, then down to her purple skin and her skirt below. "You're even better," he said quietly, putting a hand on her side and kissing her again.
