Chapter 20

Mira stared at Hades as he slowly approached her while Kira watched with great interest. Mira watched his every move. Hades reached for his naginata, which was strapped to his back and slammed it into the ground with so much force it shook the ground and the weapon itself stuck out of the ground like a stake. Mira couldn't help but tremble as her instinctual fear of dragons began to surface.

"You're not going to use your weapon?" she asked.

"You are unarmed. Now the fight is even..." Hades said as he spread his wings and disappeared.

At the last second Mira heard him at the last second and spun around and grabbing Hades by the wrist with both paws blocking the fatal strike but she forgot that his paw was open. Hades just smiled a little bit and his paw sparked as a massive energy ball hit her at point blank range causing an explosion similar to a grenade detonating with the force to match. Mira was send flying into a building with a loud crash. She stood up weakly and began to change into her kitsune form.

Once she changed all her wounds were healed but it didn't last long. Hades slashed into her with his claws causing blood to spray everywhere but she was able to get some distance between them. She then put her paws together and fired a massive energy ball of her own. Hades held out a paw and stopped the ball. The dragon growled as he was forced to use both of his paws to hold back the blast as it began to force him backwards but the force was too much and he couldn't hold it back. The energy ball slammed into him directly causing a huge explosion. Mira took the opportunity to get Jaden and run.

"Jaden wake up!" She said franticly.

Jaden didn't wake but he was breathing which was a good sign. She then froze heard the sound of laughing and saw Hades brushing himself off.

"Impressive, even using both my paws I couldn't stop it. I am quite surprised ... Was that it? Are you finished 6 tails?" Hades said in a bored tone.

Mira didn't say anything. She just stood there with a deer in head lights look.

"Yes, it would appear that it was, how unfortunate..." He said as he held out his paw fired an energy blast.

Mira snapped out of her daze just before the blast hit and grabbed Jaden. She ran through the smoke at blinding speed carrying Jaden in her arms. She then looked to her right and saw Hades running right next to her. The dragon then kicked her sending her high into the air. The kitsune hit the cement with a loud crash. Mira managed to land on her back so Jaden wouldn't get hurt but she lost her grip when they landed. She stood up weakly.

He then heard foot steps and blocked a kick aimed at his head.

"Leave her alone!" Jaden shouted as he jumped back.

"This doesn't concern you human. Now get out of my way." Hades said calmly.

Jaden took a stance.

"If you threaten my mate it does concern me!" he shouted as he charged again.

Hades simply struck the enraged human with his tail sending into the pavement but he got up and attacked again.

"You are getting on my nerves!" Hades growled.

The dragon then punched him in the stomach and kicked him sending Jaden sailing again. Before Jaden could get up again Hades slammed his tail on the human's legs breaking them and causing the human to scream. He then turned his attention back to Mira. The kitsune stood up weakly. Her fur was matted with blood and her body was covered on cuts. Driven to protect Jaden she ran at Hades again but the dragon caught her by the neck. He then extended his claws fully and drove his paw into her stomach.

Mira gagged and coughed up blood and her vision began to blur.

"Impressive, you used 3 of your tails to shield the human and block my attack but by doing so they were destroyed instantaneously. They will not grow back for some time.... You have nothing left to hold me off. It's over..." Hades said as he threw her into a building and his paw began give off sparks.

"Please....don't I'm begging you. Please don't do it." Jaden pleaded weakly.

But the human's pleas fell on deaf ears as Hades fired a massive energy blast.

"Jaden...theses last few months with you has been the best time in my life. I promised that we would always be together for the rest of our lives and that I would always be with you...I'm sorry that I couldn't keeps my promise..." She thought to herself as she closed her eyes.

The blast hit and was followed by a massive explosion. Jaden watched in horror but the sight of seeing Mira disappear in the explosion combined with his injuries made him black out. Hades turned and flew back to Kira side. Kira was about to speak when he caught a familiar scent and turned to see a white tiger wolf wearing and F.A.S but the badge has a slash threw it. The tiger wolf was caring Mira's beaten and bloody body over his shoulder.

"Have you sunk so low that you need others to do your dirty work for you? How pathetic..."the wolf said.

"Koga, You arrogant bastard, How dare you interfere!" Kira hissed.

"We have use for her..." Koga said.

"What do the skull hunters want with a half breed kitsune?" Kira growled.

"That's none of your concern." Koga said.

Kira drew his sword and Hades attacked with claws. Koga simply side stepped Hades and kicked out his legs sending the dragon into the ground. Then the tiger wolf kicked Kira's paws knocking the sword out of them and into the air. Then he kicked Kira in the stomach knocking him on to his back while catching the sword at the same time wile still holding Mira. Koga then pressed it to the dragon's throat.

"If it was up to me you would be dead right now...but I have strict orders to let you live...So don't push your luck. But remember to keep your end of the deal because we have kept ours. The target is to be left alive." Koga said as he stuck the sword into the ground and warped to a large ship in orbit.

Koga landed on the ship and hooked Mira up to a medical vat.

"Her injuries are severe but A few weeks in the vat and she will be fine." Koga thought to himself as he prepared to fly back to his base.

Hades and Kira gathered their weapons and took off into the air to find and eliminate the rest of the people who stood in their way.

Ace and his group were taking a rest not too far off from the battle field. Ace and Sora watched Athena and Chase play in the water. Sora decided to take this moment and see just how Ace felt about her but she wasn't going ask directly. First she needed to know if he had his eye on another. Coincidentally Ace was thinking that same thing.

"So Ace what are your plans after this is all done and over with?" She asked trying not to sound too curious.

"After this I am taking a LONG vacation. Maybe try to find a mate. There is one female who caught my eye though. She has a few cubs but I don't mind. I plan on asking her once this is done and settled. What about you?" Ace said hoping Sora wouldn't catch on.

Sora felt a little crushed but at the same time she was happy he found somebody and was caught off guard by the question.

"I do have one person in mind. But I am not sure he likes me at all" She replied.

Ace spoke without thinking.

"What's not to like? You are nice, smart, and very beautiful...." Ace stopped himself before he put his foot and deeper into his muzzle but now Sora was very curious.

"You think I'm beautiful?" She said looking him right in the eye with a sly grin.

Ace's ears went flat as he tried to figure out what to say next. He knew dropping the subject wasn't going to be easy if even possible. Sora knew Ace was hiding something and she was determined to get him to talk. Ace said the first thing that popped up in his head.

"Maybe we should talk about this after Kira is stopped." He said hoping she would comply.

Sora was about to protest but decided that he did have a point. She nodded and saw Kira flying but then she turned pale when she saw Hades. Without saying a word she took off after them. Hades and Kira stopped and landed on the ground. She was confused yet happy that her mate survived but she could tell something was not right.

"Hades... It can't be...I thought I lost you, but what's going on here? Why are you with Kira? Did forget everything he has done!?" She said.

Ace, Athena, Venus finally caught up with her. Venus and Ace got the same deer in the headlights look while Athena stepped in front of Chase protectively. Kira simply stood there and waited for Hades to respond.

"Hades, why don't you answer me? Don't you remember me or even your own daughters!?" Sora shouted.

Hades just gave Sora and ice cold stare.

"Are you finished?" Hades asked.

Sora stood there like stone. She felt herself die inside. Venus was enraged.

Faster than anyone could see Venus and Hades both had the weapons drawn and were clashing.

Pretty soon twisters and hurricane winds began to form the as dragoness's fury grew.

"You keep going. I'll hold them off!" Venus said as she fought off the two dragons.

The others were about to object but she blasted them with a powerful wind blast sending them into the city near by.

Yoshi and rest saw the smoke and wasted no time getting to the battlefield but they couldn't get there in time. When they saw all the destruction they were beyond horrified. The canines could smell Vixen blood and saw Jaden on the ground beaten and battered. Lucy and Jasmine couldn't help but gasp as Sakura and Yoshi just stared.

"Jaden talk to me!" Kiyo said.

"They killed her....the dragons killed her..." Jaden said in a daze.

Yoshi and the rest began to cry at the news.

"We are going back to the house. I have something that will put those dragons down for good. This ends now!" Yoshi said with a growl as they carried Jaden to the car.

They then felt a strong wind and saw Athena and the rest land not to far off dazed from the force of the impact. The furs were more than a little enraged.

"Maybe we won't need to go back to the house after all" Sakura said.

"I say we torture them!" Jasmine growled.

"I agree, they are weakened, they can't take all of us. Let's do it." Lucy seconded.

"No, but I WILL get answers. Sakura you have had contact with them before which one do you think will have the most info?" Yoshi asked.

"I haven't seen the silver one before but the purple one I know has info." Sakura said

"Then we will interrogate her first. There are some ropes in the trunk. Get it and bind them." Yoshi said.

Jasmine and Lucy did as she said binding both dragons and Ace. They then took Chase to a safe distance. They then waited for them to come to.

Ace came to and looked around. He knew instantly that he was tied up.

"What the hell is going on?" He asked as he tried to get free.

"Don't struggle, you'll just hurt yourself. You are being interrogated." Sakura said as she walked over to him.

"You must be the canine mated to the human Kiyo. I take it." Ace said.

Sakura growled but kept her composer.

"You are going to tell me everything you know. I know all about you" She growled.

On another part of the street Sora came to only to find herself bound and muzzled. She tried to break free but no such luck. She then saw Jasmine glaring at her with a look of pure hatred in her eyes.

"So you're awake. I'll get right to the point. A very close friend of mine was killed by a dragon...So you are going to tell me everything you know about Kira and this other dragon. This can go one of two ways. You can tell me willingly or...I can force it out of you." Jasmine growled.

Sora then noticed the live power line about an inch away from her feet. She knew a shock from it would cause serious injury. She wasn't sure if the collie was bluffing and she didn't want to take the chance so she nodded and once she was she told Jasmine everything.

Athena was already awake. Her paws and feet were bound and she then saw Yoshi. Yoshi was shocked that Athena was a child. She shook her head and walked over slowly.

"Listen to me. Please tell us about Kira so we can stop him. A very close friend was of mine was killed by him and this other dragon and her mate is in shock. We won't hurt you or your mate. I promise you that." Yoshi said in a calm tone.

Being a mother Yoshi knew it would be best if she talked to Athena. Lucy would have tortured the dragoness and caused her unnecessary stress. Her calm approach worked and Athena relaxed enough to talk. Chase was more worried about Athena but at the same time was asking Kiyo a million questions. Kiyo did his best to answer as best as he could. He then saw Yoshi walked out followed by Athena. Chase immediately ran into her arms. Once they were satisfied they untied Ace and Sora. Yoshi brought them to her basement. Everyone was amazed at all the weapons and armor. The whole room was filled with both human and fur based technology.

"No wonder why you never let anyone in the basement." Lucy said in they looked around.

"How did you get all this stuff?" Ace asked

"The human stuff I bought. The fur tech I made." Yoshi said.

Yoshi lead Kiyo to what looked like a black suit with armor plating. There was an odd katana. The blade edge was blue but the hilt was jet black.

"I made this battle suit. It will protect you and boost all of your physical attributes including your body's endurance but that doesn't mean you can't be killed. The suit can only repel some light attacks." Yoshi explained.

"So just act like I would if I wasn't wearing it at all." He said.

It was clear that Kiyo was going to take on Kira. As much as Sakura didn't want him to she knew once he made his mind up there was no changing it. She walked over to him and looked directly in his eyes.

"Kiyo, I want you to make me a promise and if you break it I never want to see you again. Promise me you will come back alive." she said.

"I promise I will come back" Kiyo said as he put the suit on.

"I can handle this." Ace said.

"If you could handle it then Kira would be dead already. Besides this is MY planet. I am not just going stand by. Let's go." Kiyo said as he put on the suit.

Ace knew he had a point and he knew Kira was too powerful to fight alone but what had him worried was Hades. When the time came would Sora be able to face him and kill him?

Back in the city Venus was barely able to hold off Hades and Kira. She was cover in cuts as she blocks and counters each attack. She spun her naginata and slammed it into the ground unleashing a massive blast of wind but was shot by an even stronger blast of energy. The weaken Dragoness fell to on knee. Hades stood over her waiting for her to make a move. He could feel that he knew her but every time he tried to remember he just couldn't. He raised his weapon and readied to finish her off but he couldn't. For some reason he just couldn't. He then deflected a massive ice shard and jumped back as more were shot at him. He turned to see Athena, Kiyo, Ace and Sora.

"Well what do we have here? Kira hissed.

"This Kira this is the end." Ace growled. Kira closed his eyes and spoke.

"You are right...It IS the end. This place will become your graves." Kira said with a serious look in his eyes.

Kiyo and the rest got ready for the final showdown.

Out in deep space Mira began to come too. She saw a black 12 tailed kitsune male standing in front of her. He was about 6 feet 10 inches and he was well muscled with silver hair.

"Where am I?" She asked.

"You are on my ship. You were beaten up pretty badly. What happened to you?" The kitsune asked.

"I don't remember but my body still hurts." She said.

"Put this on your head and you will feel better. Don't you have a home or a mate?" He asked as he put a golden metal head band with a green gem in the middle on her head.

"I don't remember." She said.

"Do you remember your name?" He asked.

"My name is Mira. That's all I can remember" She said.

"Well I am in need of some new members for my organization. Our goal is to bring peace and punish the corrupt. But I will warn you the training and the missions WILL be tough. So I ask you. Will you join us?" He asked holding out his paw.

Mira reached and shook his paw and them gem began to glow.

"Welcome to the skull hunters" He said calmly.

"What is your name?" She asked.

"You may call me Shinryu." The 12 tail said.
