Life of a Telekinesis Cat

"No... You'll never get me!" Tammy yowled in her sleep. She flung her paws in the air, as if someone was trying to strangle her. Tammy was having those dreams again... The black cat with the really sharp teeth and bright gold eyes that glew in the night if the mist was really thick. "Stay away!" Tammy shrieked, kicking her hind legs. The black cat lunged at her and wrapped its deadly jaws around her neck. Tammy tried to kick him off, but her legs went right through its body. She gurgled, "Killing me won't do anything!" To her surprise, the black cat replied. Its voice was thick and rough, as if it hadn't talked before. "You know my secret. The biggest secret. This decade will be ruined and you will all die." Tammy didn't understand what he meant, but she was running out of air. "What do you mean?" She squeaked. "You and those you love will perish and those who take over will rule the land." It repeated. "What does it mean?" She replied, getting more anxious. The cat didn't answer. Tammy knew this was her time to escape, so she slid out from under the cat. She leaped onto a rail and continued on, taking each step smoothly. "You'll die with all who you do not obey!" The cat yowled. Then the sound of a loud thump blew in her ears, and when she turned around, the cat was gone. Tammy woke up. Toni was standing by her leaf bed, balancing himself on the wooden border. "You okay?" He asked. Toni had dark orange fur with silver markings. Tammy sat up, looking at Toni with her pale green eyes. He stared back with his pale blue eyes. "I had the dream again. With the black cat." Tammy explained, shivering a little bit. Toni laughed, falling off the wood and landing on the leaf covered floor. Tammy groaned and stepped out of the bed, walking past the laughing scrap of fur. Toni was her big brother and he usually made fun of her and her dreams. "Man, Tammy. You're crazier then Aunt Whisker who thought she saw the Grand Cat Warriors in her backyard!" Toni howled in laughter. Tammy sighed. She walked past the bathroom and into the kitchen, where she plucked a piece of turkey off of the shelf. Toni trotted in. "No, that's mine." He tried to take it away from her, but Tammy stuffed it into her mouth and ran out the back door. Toni chased her, and they laughed. "Look, it's the wagon!" Toni pointed to a large wagon pulled by a fire dragon. "I've always wanted to be the one holding the reins to a fire dragon," He purred. "Well you might want to think twice, look at how much fire it's breathing!" The driver put a metal net in front of the dragon, and the dragon nearly burned the trainers hand off! "On second thought, I'll stay with the Aura Collectors." Tammy laughed.

~*~*~*~*~* "You're crazy!" Toni yelped. "I just want to go to town to steal some milk cans and a couple of salmon, that's all." Tammy explained. "No, it's too risky." Toni growled. "So you think the black cat's gonna jump out and get me? Ha! No cat can catch me!" Toni shook his head. "You aren't going. You could get hurt or worse; caught by humans!" Both the cats shared a shudder. "I guess we should just go at nighttime." Toni said. "Yay! I'll go make a pouch," Tammy rushed off. She grabbed some leather and some silk, and began weaving with a piece of string. By the time Toni came in with some veggies, Tammy had made a small pouch the size of a baby fox. "Nice... For a weaver." Toni complimented. "Thanks," Tammy purred. That night, Tammy and Toni started out; Tammy slung the pouch over her shoulder. As they walked down the concrete walk, Tammy trotted ahead. "Don't go too far, I can't really see you from this angle," Tammy laughed. When they made it to the town, Toni walked in front of Tammy and looked around. "The milk shack is over there, and the fish store is right here." Tammy directed. Toni nodded and trotted over to a shack and jumped into the open window. Tammy went the opposite direction and went into an alley behind a large cement building. She jumped onto a trashcan lid and popped the lid off. She stuck her head into the can and grabbed a small styrophone box that smelt like tuna. Tammy put the box in her pouch and then pulled out another box that smelt more like salmon. She licked her lips and put the box in her pouch. "Tammy...." Someone hissed. She looked up, looking around. No Toni. "Alright, Toni. Jokes over, come out..." Still no Toni. She was starting to shake. Suddenly, a white cat with jet black paws appeared out of no where and started her. Before she could react, the world went pitch black.

"Wake up..." A voice chattered. "Huh?" Tammy's eyes opened. "Finally." A cat reached out a paw. "I'm Sire." The cat said. Tammy noticed he had the same jet black paws and white fur like the cat at the alley. "I-I'm Tammy. W-where's T-Toni? H-he's t-the c-cat I w-was with b-before I was c-catnapped." She stuttered. "Toni? There was no Toni." Sire said. "What? He's my brother! He looks just like me, except darker fur and pale blue eyes." Tammy whimpered. Sire shook his head. "No Toni." Tammy began to whimper. Then the whimper turned to a hiss. "What you do with him?!" She demanded. "Hold your mice, critter. There is no Toni. There is no cat with darker fur and pale blue eyes." Sire said, this time with more and more evilness. "Yes there is! He's my brother and I want to know where he his!" Tammy hissed, pouncing onto the cat. "Fine! I'll admit, I saw a cat with darker fur and pale blue eyes when I was walking around the cat walk where you were stealing food." Sire mewed. "Thank you! Now I'd better go." Tammy began to walk to the entrance. "Afraid I can't let you do that." Sire meowed. "Ha, you're funny. Goodbye now." Out of the blue, a big rock was moved in front of the entrance. Tammy stopped in shock. "Wow..." She took a step back. "I told you, I can't let you leave. You're a special cat, and you cannot leave." Sire explained. "Special? Me? I'm just a cat." Tammy said, confused. "A special cat. You are the key to what can save this clan." "Clan? You mean there are more of you?" Tammy meowed in shock. "Yes. I will tell you the story of Spirit Claws."

"Spirit Claws?" Tammy repeated. "Yes. It all started about 70 years ago..." Sire began. "There was a cat named Yopi Ogo. Cats called him the leader of leaders. He was very powerful. His clan was called Spirit Claws. One day, Yopi Ogo went out to pick some poppy flower for the healing cats. He was stopped by a jet black cat with dark, golden yellow eyes that shone if the mist was thick. The black cat attacked him and took all Yopi's power, leaving his body to shrivel up like a dying worm. Today, that cat still lives on, going from body to body, waiting until it finds one body that can help it destroy-" "I've had dreams about that cat! Wild, crazy dreams!" She blurted out. "What kind of dreams?" Sire asked.

"Dreams like, 'You know my secret,' or 'Those who you love will all perish.'"

"Oh," Sire said, "It always makes up riddles to fool you. I'd better take you out to the meadow to practice your telekinesis." Sire moved the rock, without touching it, out of the way. "What? I don't have magical powers!" Tammy meowed loudly. "Of course. You need to let it out." Tammy's whiskers quivered in shock and excitement. "So it's been there all along?!" "Yes. You just never knew nor let it out." Sire replied, flicking his gray tail. "I could of used my powers to put dead mice in Toni's bed!" Tammy shouted, her tail moving like a propeller. "No! You never use your powers for mischief or evil! Also, if you have a evil soul, your power will never come out! You must prove yourself good if you're evil if you want to use magical telekinesis'!" Sire yowled. Tammy cowered in fear. "I'm sorry. I'm new at this so I don't know much about this, you know." Tammy apologized. "It's okay. Let's go out to the meadow to let out your powers."

** "Ah, the fresh air. The wonderful breeze. So calm. " Tammy breathed in the sweet, breathtaking air. "I know. It's only horrible in the winter. No food. You have to stalk up all through summer and fall if you want to survive." Sire said, his ears flicking in worry. "Rumor has it that this winter'll be the worst. Absolutely freezing." Tammy shivered in fear. "Why don't you just come and live with Toni and me?" "How could you ask me that?! A tom can never leave his clan behind just for his health! Clan first, then you!" Tammy shook her head. _ This tom is so crazy I can't tell if he has a brain or not._ "If you're so caught up in all this 'Rumor has it mess,' why don't you just go and find the black cat yourself? You'll be a hero. I bet that that black beast is the cause for all this bad wea-"**

"No! Rory would be so angry she'd suspend my aura license." Tammy's ears shot up. "Aura? License?" Sire nodded. "Yes. I won it at a competition which you throw a aura ball with your telekinesis to see how far it goes." "Say, I might- I mean Toni might want to borrow it some time." "Well, Toni needs to let his telekinesis out and he can have his own aura card." Tammy thought this was rude.

Toni was so worried he couldn't even eat. He looked everywhere for Tammy but he couldn't find her. "Tammy! Taaaaaaaaammmyyy!" He'd yell all day. He'd always get kicked or almost ran over by a wagon. One time when he was calling for Tammy, a woman's baby carriage ran over his tail and then a horse stepped on the wound. "Oooooowwww!" He leapt on the cart and scratched off the man's face. Then he took off for the bridge and went back home, once again, taken over by pain and defeat. "Oh Tammy, where could you be?" Every night he would wonder that. Every night was sleepless and quiet. "Tammy. If I made you run away then I'm sorry. Or maybe it was because I was mean to you. You ran off knowing that was your time to escape. Tammy! You stupid tabby! I'm going to stop looking for you!" He screamed at the top of his voice. Tears filled his eyes and her buried his face in the moss blanket that Tammy had made for him when they were little kittens, just learning how to weave.
