Swans and Women
Swans in a lake always seem normal until one starts to notice the dark and almost broken down house behind the lake. Its windows cracked and the roof falling apart. But some ask why the swans stay. Is it because they have lived here for years or is it magic that binds them to this house? None know except the swans who call this wrecked, broken down, and torn up land their home.
Swans and beautiful women have always been associated with eachother but when a swan is younger it is an ugly gray color. Thus all women start off as ugly swans and turn into graceful beautiful swans. Although that is where this story takes a wrong turn. In this land one swan was born white and it has been that way for 15 years. Its color like a snow blanket over hills and moutains. Her eyes like storm clouds during a rainy day. She was the one swan that looked like a ghost in the twilight.
During all these years no one has noticed that the women slowly disappered and the swans added in numbers. Once there was 5 now there are 50. All women who used to be cruel and unkind, now sweet and innocent. But remember that one odd swan? That one was pure kindness as a human. Loving and caring towards all. But when she died she was forced to live as a swan because she could teach them the ways of kindness and virtue. She seemed like a good canidate but what did the others think? They hated her. Not only that but they seemed to dislike how she was everyone's favorite.
But what no one knew was that the curse could be lifted but only by true and undying love for one of the swans. Only a true blooded royal could do this though. Many have tried but failed. Maybe this time it will be different for the swans. Maybe the beautiful moonlight swan could actually have someone fall for her undyingly. But that was a wish for all the swans except the one who was the most beautiful. Delephina wasn't wishing for someone to love her. She wanted to love them back. Which in the curse it states that both must love eachother in order for the curse to be lifted. No one else has tried for 100 years now. Maybe aprince hidden away within the town will love her and break the curse of the witch in the house. But wishes come in lots of forms. Like everyone says... Be careful what you wish for. Now there is one more part to this curse. See this stry takes lots of twists and turns so far doesn't it? You have to kill the witch before confessing your love. What a tragic thing right? So far all men who have tried were slaughtered by the witch. No, not slaughtered but turned into her guard dogs that protect her and the swans. She roams at night to kept watch over her little birds. Making sure no one comes near them. This has lasted 500 year s now. Is there ever going to be someone to untie them from the witches hands? They all thought they we be stuck like this forever. Maybe they just needed more hope? Delephina doudted that is what it was. She might be the most beautiful swan but she also has lots of courage and brains for that matter. She isn't afraid of the witch who has tied them here. She is more afraid of the dogs that guard her.
Delephina felt so empty now. She had no hope left. Only the courage and brains that got her through the days and nights of an endless life. She hated it. Living forever was like not being able to open a jar of pickles. It was that frustraightning. Who knew that the most beautiful swan was hated her life. She was always so graceful and calm around the others. But when alone itseemed as though she was depressed.
