Surname: Revell

First Name: Jason Descartes

Middle Name: Walker

Nickname: Des Age: 43/Born: September 4, 1966 Gender: Male

Species: Black bear

Height: 6'2''/Weight:154lb

Orientation: Straight/Civil Status: Marrried

Number of Children: 3 Hometown: Diverren, ZL, Callentine

Appearance: Descartes is a blue bear, his fur color an odd effect of albinism. His teaching attire consists of a lab coat, with a purple or magenta shirt, black slacks and sneakers. Other than that, he has a wide assortment of plainclothes that he would wear on occasion. Another noticeable feature is his mechanically enhanced left hip and knee. He acquired it after a debilitating disease left his leg paralyzed. He also has corneal implants, that act as some form of vision enhancement. This doesn't prevent him, however, from needing reading glasses.

Personality: He is a uniquely extroverted character, with a ravenous appetite for learning. He is very amicable, and nefariously curious. He also has a strong initiative, especially when reaching out to others. A humanitarian, Descartes would never let anyone in need wait, and when he fails to do so, would practically beat himself up. Beneath this light, friendly exterior lies a serious, wise ideology, brought up by his mentor and uncle Spencer Revell, and embodies the will to serve others. He is moderately secretive and eccentric, and at times would snap into paranoia. Most of his incumbent personality gets shut off when excessively stressed, and instead, a delirious, reckless, irrational manifestation of his psyche takes hold. Despite this, he has proven himself as a loyal, trustworthy friend, one that has withstood the test of time. Being almost twice the age of most of his friends and contemporaries, he is often seen as a father figure- typical for one of his stature, as a college professor.

Equipment: Typically, Descartes carries a wide assortment of tools, weapons and materials. His primary tool and weapon is his Victorian-style orthopedic cane, built by himself after losing the full use of his left leg. He sometimes carries a taser, as a non-lethal way of immobilizing hostile subjects; a set of tools, like a drill or chainsaw, or a small medical pack, which he uses to sedate others, or apply first aid. Another notable set of equipment that he has are his biophysical implants that both give him above-average body performance and counters his handicapped leg. His six-story brick apartment, located in his hometown of Diverren, Callentine, contains a relatively large workshop and a six-car rotary garage. He also has an underground facility in a classified location, where he tests Unravel's weapons and stores his outsize equipment. An avid car collector, he has several vehicles in his home, along with several aircraft at the local airport.

Talents: He has an innate ability to create a useful device out of any scrap material that he can acquire, which proves useful in survival scenarios. He is also a musical person, and can play four different instruments (guitar, piano, saxophone and violin).

Location/Home: 2199 Arkense Dr., Diverren, ZL, Callentine 4097

History: Descartes was born to a poor family in a small house at the Diverren, Callentine. They moved to New York a few years after a relative managed to apply them for a green card. His father, Lawrence Revell, was a corporate lawyer while his mother, Michelle Walker, was a stay-at-home mother. He lived a seemingly normal life, unaware of the abuse his mother was taking to protect him during his father's alcoholic rampages. However, during his toddler years, his father began exhibiting psychotic fits in front of him, questioning his fidelity and his otherwise innocent mind, and making outrageous claims like "I invented the lightbulb", to which young Des defiantly negated.

At age six, he lost his father, an alcoholic, after a drinking binge. They moved to a small apartment in Brooklyn, where he and his brother, Morris, lived for two years. At age 8, his mother is killed in a car crash. His brother was set up for adoption, while he was promptly taken in by his uncle, Spencer Revell, a professor at Columbia University.

Spencer noticed the rapid rate of learning by Descartes, and decided to teach him the ways of science. He quickly became interested and soon, not only was he excelling in the field, but he was also learning music, art, amid other distinguishable skills. At age 13, he was granted a scholarship into MIT, but decided to take a scholarship by the Marten Technological University, taking a triple degree program and earning his undergraduate and masteral degrees, both instances he was at the top of his class.

The Callentine Ministry of Defense took quick notice of his abilities and initiated him into the Corps of Engineers during his compulsory term in the military. Befriending a Sergeant, Silas Roebuck, they were stationed in the Callentine highlands, organizing weapons tests. His stay in the military also influenced his designing of mechanical devices, which he kept a secret back then.

On duty one day, they were ambushed and held captive by insurgents. For days they were tortured without remorse, and by the two-week mark, they were on the brink of insanity. Descartes organized an escape, and with him as lead, managed to make it to their base station, a full 30 miles away. Silas, however, didn't make it.

Descartes suffered severe narcolepsy, linked to post-traumatic stress. Upon his discharge from his compulsory draft, Des was a Second Lieutenant, and was fully compensated by the government. After leaving, he immediately sought treatment.

Back home, he went through countless therapy and rehabilitation sessions, slowly relieving himself of his personality disorder as well as well as his narcolepsy. Times were hard for him, as the government benefits he enjoyed were now spent on therapy. He applied as a police dispatcher, raising suspiscion from the desk sergeant as to his qualifications (or rather, his overqualification)

He also started his practical career as a self-employed inventor. Since starting college, he patented 20 of his inventions, along with countless discoveries and applicative studies, within a span of two years. He managed to save a reasonable amount from the profits that came with the patents, which he kept for his future.

He bought and renovated an old tenement, which he rented out for an extra profit, to the point he lived in his car to rent out his room.

Soon, he applied for a job as a college professor at his alma mater, to establish his position in the community as an educator. It was there he met Amelia Warren, Associate Professor and Head of Chemical Studies, to which he fell in love with. They subsequently married a few months after meeting, and a few months later, had a child.

Des started a small electronics and repair shop called Unravel Electronics and Research. Though initially successful, it didn't take off, leaving Des paying off a lot of debt. Compounding his problem, he contracted amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, a debilitating neuromuscular disorder that gradually destroys all voluntary motor functions. He approached some of his friends, one of which was an eccentric pharmacologist, who was working on ALS. His experimental cure worked, but the damage has been done to his leg. To compensate, he attached a motor assist and created an orthopedic cane to aid in his walking.

He appointed his brother, Morris, as manager of his fledgling company, and it was only then that Unravel took off. With its mantra, 'Innovation calls us for help', they soon began expanding into most industries from agriculture to pharmaceuticals to electronics and consumer products.

Des had his second child, John Jeremiah, on the day the Unravel Military Design Board was founded. Founded after the coaxing of the Callentine Military for them to make avionics, the MDB paved the way for Unravel's rise to power. As for Des, he settled with his family soon afterwards, where he continues to reside to this day Recently, he acquired his doctorate degree in Condensed Matter Physics.

One night, Des recieved a basket on his front steps. In it was an infant red fox, along with a note. "Take care of Kit.", it said. Her papers subsequently identified her as Margot Kittier Saint-Marten, and she was promptly adopted into the Revell family.

Des is still a college professor, teaching advanced physics and thermoodynamics at Marten Technological University, Callentine
