Silence fiilled the mind of a young swordsman jackal named Anubeus Benedictus. It had been a month sence his father was killed by three of Lord Natsu's boudyguards, who were in a drunken state. Anubeus wanted closer and revenge. Anubeus recalled the words of the early twenty-first century poet, Nathan E. Vigil: A halo upon the head and near the hilt, / horns also there, they will surely with us tilt. It was said that the antithesis heroic couplet written by Vigil ment this: Every one is not what they seem, even though they, who seem good, have hidden agendas. Vigil had said that when he wrote it that he was thinking of two samurai warriors, one in armor, the other in traveling clothes.

"Good evening, Anubeus-kun." A mouse whose fur was white as snow on a moutain top. He was wearing, what seemed to Anubeus, like a black karate uniform. The mouse's name was Tomodachi Chukage; the family name (Tomodachi) was Japanese for "friend," his fist name (Chukage) translates as "mouse-shadow." He bowed slightly. He carried a ninjato on his back, he called it, "Dokuga Kagenodaija (Posin fanged shadow serpent)" He was a ninja of sorts.

Anubeus bowed back a little lower, his natural blond afro bouncing alittle. "Good evening, Chukage-kun." He was dressed in black combate boots, black cargo pants, and a black hooded sweat shirt. In his belt he had a tanto that had an orange saya (sheath). In his left hand he carried a katana that was sheathed in a blue saya. He called the tanto, "Honoo-shoku yamainu no tanto," Japanese for "Orange jackal tanto." The katana he named it: "Ao usagi no katana," Japanese for "Blue rabbit katana." His father had given both blades to him as gifts at different times.

"Anubeus, Where are you headed?" Chukage asked nodding to his aurean canine friend.

"To my cousin's village, it is just up the way. It is called Lycopolis. It comes from the Greek words lykos (meaning wolf) and polis (city, or town). My cousin's name is Lila Blackblood." Anubeus stoped to look at the full moon. "She is the town's storyteller, historian, and head guard."

"I have heard of you cousin. She is a noble warrioress. Is it true that she found a history book dating back before The United States of America colapsed?"

Anubeus nodded. "She found it in some rubble of posibly of a school. It dated up to 2092, the year that the poet Nathan Erik Vigil supposily died in." Anubeus grew up reading Vigil's poetry, Sun-Tzu's The Art of War, and verous other books. He never liked technology, it is what distoryed the word in a social way for a hundred years or so. Anubeus read a biography on Vigil, and found out that he was born 200 years after Vigil on May 27, 2193.

"Have you found the killers of your father yet?"

Anubeus shook his head in a negitive answer. He was looking for Fabio Silvergate, an artic fox; Elio Gonzalez, a grey wolf; Julio Antoniano, a bagger. "No, have you seen them in any of Lord Natsu's lands?"

"No, If I do see them, any of them, would you like me to detain them and send you a message?"

"If you see fit." Anubeus said.

"Good eving, my honorable friend." Chukage said as he sliped into the shadows.

Anubeus bowed. "It was good having you for company. And thank you for you help. Good eving, Chukage-san."
