#25 of Kyurex

Yo,

I dont know, youve got to tell me if the series is getting boring or something, okay? : 3

Masta - G

It was a bright and sunny morning. Kyurex and his companions had just finished a short training routine they had established during the past month. Of course Blaze managed to moan and slack off now and then but generally it all went well. They had all agreed that for the time being and until the Bronze Tournament was finished they would try to get used to day time. Blaze, typically, was pissed off beyond belief, May saw it as a challenge and didn't protest, and for Kyurex it made practically no difference, though he knew that he somehow felt much stronger when exposed to Moonlight.

They were now in a region with really, really thick air. The ground was soft and moist, and the trees were wide in form and possessed leaves of seemingly all colours.

They had never been in such am exotic place before.

After a chat to regain their strength everyone started to feel hungry, especially-

"I'm hungry!" Blaze abruptly stopped anyone else from speaking. Kyurex was getting annoyed that Blaze constantly used the phrase more than five times a day.

"Well how about getting some food then?" the Umbreon responded. Blaze grinned as if he had awaited that type of answer.

"Nope. I think it's time YOU went and got the food Mr.I-Like-To-Boss-Around." Blaze rolled onto his back, enjoying the sunshine that assaulted his face.

Kyurex, before getting angry, looked at his girlfriend, who only shrugged in response.

"He has got a point Kyu, you've hardly ever fetched anything by yourself." May said.

He had actually expected hearing something else from someone who always argued with Blaze, but oh well.

Kyurex looked at the ground for a few seconds - admitting defeat. It was actually quite true, he did fetch some food with Blaze and a couple of times with May but he never did it alone, while the others did so occasionally.

"Maybe you're right. Okay. I'll go."

Without any further discussions Kyurex left, heading off towards an area that seemed heavily vegetated. Blaze was kind of disappointed that Kyurex just did what he was ask of instead of retaliating in some manner, but the Umbreon knew better than to add more fuel to the fire.

"Be careful..." May said., giving the Umbreon a worried look.

"Sure..." Kyurex ensured her.

"And hurry bro I'm starvin!! And I need to go to sleep! " Blaze shouted in between them. Kyurex shook his head.

"Blaze...god damn..." He departed.

"What? I'm just sayin!" Blaze called. Kyurex didn't bother answering. He steadily walked through the tropical wood, gradually disappearing from the sight of his companions.

Some time passed...

"Man....talk about hitting the jackpot!"

Kyurex happily dragged a big, thick leaf in his mouth which contained a bunch of fruits in its clutches. He had just picked everything up that seemed digestible. He had never seen such fruits in his forest before but he had heard of them from school. Only he forgot the names.

The Umbreon was happy about the fact that the amount he was carrying with him was way more than the usual portions May or Blaze serve. This somehow made him feel proud.

"Ah..man..." the Umbreon moaned through his teeth. It was quite hard to walk on the soft ground, and Kyurex occasionally stood on to some spiky rocks and broken branches.

"Hm?" The Umbreons ears twitched, and he was sure that he could hear some distant water flowing. Without hesitation he decided to check it out.

After walking for a minute, he found what he had suspected. He carefully put down his food.

"Awesome! Just what somebody like me needs during such a hot weather!"

He admired the not too big pond in front of him. Kyurex didn't waste time and decided to take a quick bath.

* SPLASH *

"Yeah!!" The Umbreon surfaced, taking a deep breath. It was refreshing to the point of surprise. He shook his head to free his facial furr of water.

"Well, well, well..."

Kyurex, a bit shocked, turned around to see a smiling Slowking looking at him, standing on a rock next to the pond.

"Huh?" The Umbreon somehow felt like he had seen him before, but couldn't really remember when or where. The Slowking kept on smiling.

"Eh, do I know you ?" Kyurex asked.

"Well it depends. But I would say no. I guess Revan took the time and wiped your memory clean." The Slowking said, sitting down. Kyurexs facial expression became even more confused.

"Huh? Whats with my memory again?"

"It's missing something."

"Why?"

"Because Revan took it out."

"Who? What are you talking about-"

"Revan! A creature who looks just like you and is in your head. Does that tell you something?"

The Umbreon fell silent for the moment, letting the noise of flowing water fill the air. He was sure that the creature knew him. And he could remember a being like the one the Slowking described back when he ate the weird berries Blaze had given him.

"You're weird grandpa."

"What? You forgot everything and still call me that?!!"

_ _

Well I mean damn, look at you, don't blame me...

The Slowking jumped from the stone, walking around the pond. The Umbreon was still a bit suspicious, watching every step the stranger made. He looked like he was thinking about something.

"Em, grandpa....is there something you wanted?" the Umbreon asked. The old guy stopped.

"Well yeah, I did want something. But I guess I'll have to wait until you recover your memory." The Slowking explained. Kyurex didn't feel like arguing, and he was quite curios about it himself anyway.

"Is there a way to get this memory back?" he asked.

"Oh, yeah...You can ask Revan to give it back to you."

"How do I do that?"

"You can't. But I can help you."

"How?"

"I can use a special kind of hypnosis on you."

Kyurex listened carefully, trying to discover the strangers intentions. He seemed pure, but Kyurex just couldn't believe the fact that there was nothing fishy going on.

"Why should I trust you, anyway?"

"So that you understand how you got those bruises, especially the one on your chest."

Now Kyurex got really curious. How did the Slowking find out that the Umbreon was bruised on the chest? He couldn't of been spying on him while he was on the date with May. And otherwise Kyurex didn't notice himself. The Umbreon jumped out of the water, facing the Slowking who was grinning again. Kyurex didn't feel comfortable at all, but it was really interesting, and he was sure that the stranger could probably tell him things that he would like to know.

"You know...I'll play along, just for fun." Kyurex grinned back. The old guy clapped his hands.

"Wonderfull! Okay...whenever you're ready."

"Pff....I can even do it no-"

* PUFF *

"-w....woah!"

The Umbreon panicked a bit, looking around desperately. The pond was gone, the forest was gone, and most importantly, the strange old grandpa was gone. Everything around him was pitch black, and his eyes slowly adapted to the darkness. He could see a hill, a bright moon, trees, and everything else a person would usually encounter on a quiet night.

Kyurex thought that he was only able to dream about such stuf, so it felt really unrealistic and unbelievable to him.

"You again? You seem to have started liking it here, haven't you?"

Kyurex recognized the character almost immediately . Blood red eyes, those weird fangs...same type as himself.

"So, your name is Revan?" Kyurex asked, sitting down. There was something about the dark creatures presence that made Kyurex feel uneasy. The stranger raised an eyebrow, and after some seconds started to chuckle.

"Oh...right, I guess you don't remember, right? Hahaha..." the evil creature joked. It wasn't long before he returned to his serious look and tone. "What do you want?"

"Well...I want my memory back. Whatever that means..." Kyurex was really unsure, but he figured he should believe in the old mans saying. The powerfull beast before him erupted with laughter.

"HAHA!! Is that a joke? You think you can come and just aske me for your memory? And just like that you expect me to give it to you? What are you, mentally weak or something?" Even though it was quite insulting Kyurex figured it was best to NOT get on the creatures bad side. He still remembered how fast he got pawned the first time he had met him.

"Why do you need it anyway? Why did you take it in the first place?"

"For fun. Why else?"

"Well then, why don't you want to give it to me? I mean, if you don't need it anymore."

Revan jumped onto a big branch that was part of a nearby tree. He turned around to face Kyurex, obviously scheming something by the look on his face.

"I'll tell you what. I like your confidence. So I'll give you a chance. Let's play a game, if you win, you get your memory back, if you lose, you'll die. Deal?"

In a flash the creature teleported in front of Kyurex, stretching out his paw. The smile on his face obviously expressed the fact that this was not a fair deal. But Kyurex put his mind to it.

"Okay, deal." His paw hit Revans paw. A red beam started to glows from where their paws touched. Slowly Revans paw started to disappear.

"What-?"

The rest of the evil beasts body also disappeared, plus all of the surroundingss started to dissolve and something reappeared in its place. It was like the dimension he was in was getting restructured.

It became extremely hot and instead of the plants from before, steaming lava flowed everywhere.

"Whoa!!"

As soon as everything was complete, Kyurex, in the nick of time, managed to hold on to a small stalagmite that luckily was nearby, poking from a large column of stone. Kyurex hanged on to the rock with all his might, looking down.

"Damn!!"

Lava. Everywhere. This reminded him of Mount.Lessvin, only that this time it was far worse. As far as he could see the whole place seemed to be made of lava, and only large columns of rock filled the whole region. Even the Horizon and the view in the far distance seemed to be like lava flowing down.

"This is too hot! Too hot!!" Kyurex desperately started to climb up the column, enduring the heat. Lucky for him the columns were all full of stalagmites. He gradually made it to the top.

"Phew....that was close."

He rested for a while, trying to understand what was going on. Just a while ago he was thinking about different kind of fruits, and now he was trying to survive.

A distant noise of rocks colliding and earthquakes could be heard, making on think the whole place was unstable.

"Oh...crud..." Kyurex only now noticed that there was a nasty looking Pokemon standing in front of him.

"Damn!! A Blaziken?!!?"

Kyurex didn't have time to think, he was forced to jump out of the way as the Blaziken attacked him with a fierce kick which destroyed the ground. Kyurex knew that if he would've been in the way he would've probably broken some ribs.

The ground under the Umbreon started to shake wildly, and the Blaziken suddenly vanished. The echoing sound of stone breaking in two told Kyurex that it would be probably wise to quickly search for an exit.

Balancing himself on the remaining rock, he rapidly observed the scene.

"Damn it!"

He couldn't see anything near enough to jump on, except a very narrow column of rock.

"No choice here! HUH!!"

He jumped, successfully stabilizing himself on the small region. He knew that he had to act fast.

"Huh!"

He swiftly jumped from column to column, eventually jumping onto a very big platform. The heat was close to unbearable. The lava stream made Kyurex feel uneasy, it seemed so vicious.

"What's this?"

The platform looked like a hill, and at the top was some kind of golden little cloud, drifting above the ground. Something told him it was exactly the thing he was searching for. Though the way up was something he didn't want to go through. He sighed.

"No turning back here."

As soon as he started to climb up, trying not to step on the spiky stalagmites. The rocky ground, even though quite high over the lava was still hot.

"You've got to be kidding me..."

As if to provoke the dark creature, the platform grew even higher and the golden like cloud got even further out of reach. He wasn't all that surprised about it, after all, he figured anything could happen in a dream.

He accelerated, jumping up and up repeatedly, eventually getting closer. He got to the point where the only way to get further up was to jump on a nearby column of rock.

"Ap! Okay...not much left to -ooh...damn..."

It was the Blaziken from before, standing with his arms crossed. Kyurex knew he was in for a good fight, and there was no way out of it. This motive gave him the needed adrenalin. He made himself ready for battle.

"Okay...if it's a battle you want, that's what you'll get."

They started to circle around each other, both of them carefully eying the others movement. The Umbreon could tell that the enemy was experienced, the atmosphere around him was full of concentrated energy. But...

"Sorry! Got other problems!"

As soon as Kyurex saw a chance to jump on another platform that lead him closer to his target, he did so. The Blaziken, shortly surprised, slowly followed crossing his arms again. He did not jump after the Umbreon.

"That was close- huh?" KYurex gasped.

The enemy vanished again, but that wasn't all. He was more surprised that the level of the lava stream seemed to get higher and higher, and that the platform he was just standing on a moment ago was close to be devoured by the yellowish glowing mass.

"Damn!"

He kept jumping from platform to platform which somehow conveniently were laid out before him. It was hard to maintain balance on them due to the pace Kyurex jumped at.

"Woah!"

The Umbreon was just able to stabilize himself in the nick of time before falling off the edge. His heart nearly jumped out of his chest as soon as he realized what possible outcome he had escaped.

The lava level seemed to rise and rise. And the mysterious cloud was now a few platforms away. Kyurex wasted no time and continued, knowing that the lava catch up at any moment.

"Finally..."

Kyurex stood about 10 meters away from the cloud. He walked towards it, knowing that he had no time left whatsoever.

"Kyuiii!!!"

The Umbreon was struck still. This voice was too familiar for him to be mistaken.

"Angel?"

He turned his head and yes, it was, indeed, the small cute Eevee from his past. The small creature held on to the edge of the remaining platform they were on, struggling to keep herself from falling.

"Help me Kyuuii!"

The Umbreon nearly started to sprint but....he looked at the golden cloud.

What now?? This is a dream, and...I probably need that memory, Angel, can't be....real? What should I do??

"Kyuuiii!!!! HELP!! Kyui!" Angel sounded like she was crying, holding on to the edge with her last strength. The pleading voice tore on Kyurexs heart. He looked at the cloud, and then back at Angel.

She can't be real...

Kyurex was already half in stress but now the confusion overwhelmed him. He couldn't decide, and in the end...

"Hold on Angel!"

He ran towards the Eevee, grabbing her paw.

* FLASH *

It all happened in a split second, too fast for Kyurex to comprehend. The heat was gone, the lava was gone, the rocks were gone...and the pond was in front of him.

And...

"Angel? Wha-???"

The small Eevee, still holding his paw, smiled.

It was her, it was definitely her. The Umbreons hair stood up, he couldn't believe his eyes.

"Thanks Kyuii..." she kept on smiling. The Umbreon didn't know where to start. The Eevee stood up.

"You won. I'm your memory."

* FLASH *

Another flash, Kyurex witness white sparks in his eyes. Angel was gone. But....a gap in his mind was finally filled. He slowly started to hate spontaneous things that happened to him lately.

He shook his head wildly.

"Uhh...."

He suddenly remembered everything, it was like a wound that finally healed, and everything made sense.

"I...yeah, that DID happen...god."

He shook his head again. An evil, familiar to him voice erupted in his head.

Hahaha...Don't know why the old man thought it would be a good idea for you to get your memory back but, it's what you wanted. Yes, that's who you REALLY are...what we really are...

"Why would...would someone want to be like that?"

The Umbreon asked, knowing that Revan could hear him. He thought about the destruction, his feelings, everything...it all felt different after remembering what had happened that day.

You know....we are much more alike as you think we are...I tested you now, and you did everything as I expected you would. You don't just mindlessly battle when it's not the real issue, and...you put your friends first no matter the situation...Yes, I remember being like that back at the time...Hahaha...good times.

"You tested me?"

Yeah...say thank you that you didn't go for the price you thought was your target, that would've been straight suicide...hahahaha...

The Umbreon gulped. He remembered that for a second there he really did want to get that golden cloud.

"Yes. Not a nice thing to remember."

Kyurex lifted his head, realizing that the old guy was still there. He remembered even more now...and the first thing was that this individual claimed to have known his father personally.

"And, what exactly did you want me to achieve by gaining this knowledge?" Kyurex asked. The Slowking couldn't help but laugh.

"I'm sure you've figured that one out already. I'm sure you'd want to stop something like that from happening again."

Kyurex sighed. It was the truth. He gave the Slowking a worried look.

"What do you think I should do then?" he asked.

"Use it. Use the power do your advantage. That's what I would do."

Kyurex didn't understand.

"What? Did you see the vast amount of destruction that brought?"

"Yes. But I think you're misunderstanding me here...use the power, and use your head. Use the power in a way that profits you without harming, or destroying anything or anyone. That's all I can say." The Slowking stood up. "Well, I've got to go...See you around boy."

"Wait-!! Ah man...hate it when they disappear like that."

The Slowkings body dissolved, vanishing with the air. Kyurex knew that the creature was something unusual. Now that he had his memory back, he somehow noticed a pattern. The Slowking had appeared two times, just before Kyurex had something to do with Revan. Plus he had a feeling that the mysterieos character could help him find his father, which was one of Kyurexs main goals in life.

After looking at the pond for some time, he turned around to find his fruits still laying on the ground as if nothing had happened.
