Time had passed fairly quickly now that I was alone. I had stopped running a while ago. My body was starting to hurt again. At first I thought the shot was wearing off but the more I walked the more it hurt and the more it hurt the more I started to get this nagging feeling that I wasn't in my body.

The feeling annoyed me to a point that I kept looking down at my hands, flexing the muscles beneath the armor while balling my hands into fists. Maybe I was just paranoid and letting the exhaustion plays tricks on my mind. I nodded my head at that idea. It seemed the most likely answer. I lifted my head to view the structure in the distance. There were lights at the corners and even from this distance I could tell that it was surrounded by a barbed fence that rose fairly high into the ground.

Once I got closer and took a better look I was surprised to see that I was right. The fence rose almost ten feet into the air. Trees had been cleared to almost ten feet in every direction. The only visible way into the base was from the side road that I had left on a few days ago and the airfield that sat somewhere behind the base.

I tapped the side of my helmet and opened my com-link before speaking into it "This is Raccoon command. Need entrance into base. Have important information." It had been a longer transmission then I had planned on but adding that I had important information seemed like a good idea.

My com remained silent for a few minutes before a chirp was heard through the link. I watched as three guards came from the base and stood on the road looking around. I stayed where I was, debating what to do. after a few minutes I shrugged and walked towards the road, following the treeline so I wouldn't be mistaken for a animal or anything else.

Once I reached the road I stepped onto it and followed it to where the soldiers where standing. They weren't wearing armor like mine, matter of fact they weren't wearing any armor. They just wore fatigues that were similar to old urban camouflage. As soon as they saw me they raised their rifles. I stopped and raised my hands, a few seconds afterwords a voice came through my HUDs com-link.

"Who are you?" I blinked before answering back "As I said before. My name is Raccoon. I left this base a few days ago with Razor Squad." The link went dead before another voice came on. A female voice. "What did you see?!" I blinked once again. I was about to answer when the male voice came back on "I said keep her out of her. She can question him after we finish with him."

I tilted my head to the side quizzically. What was that about and why was she so interested in what I had seen? I thought on it until the male voice broke through the com again, "Drop your weapons and prepare to be taken into custody for a debriefing." I knew better then to question a direct order. I dropped my hand down and grabbed my combat knife before dropping it to the ground.

One of the soldiers, a human male walked forward slowly and grabbed the knife before lowering his weapon "Is that all?" I nodded my head and lowered my hands. With that the male turned around and walked back to the other soldiers who lowered their weapons. One more look at me and all three turned around and walked past the gate to the base. I waited a second before following them.

For the moment all the pain I had felt earlier was replaced by curiosity. I couldn't help but wonder what had happened and what was going on. I shook my head as I walked. Chances are that I was going to have more questions then answers by the time I was debriefed.

I sighed as I sat there. Hours. It had been hours since I had been stripped of my armor and put in a room. The debrief had gone longer then I had anticipated. I kept having to go back over details and every once and a while I had been asked if I was certain I wanted to say that in my report. I had seen enough military shows when growing up to know that it wasn't a good thing to be asked. It normally meant a cover-up was about to happen.

Once they had learned of the enemy force I saw I had been placed in a room and left there. I sighed again before laying on the cold floor. You couldn't really call the thing a room. It was more a cell. One of those "Happy Rooms." White walls with padding covering them. No windows. No light in the room with the exception of a small hole in the door were a slide was. Great, was all I could say or think.

From civilian to soldier to mentally unstable in a mere month. I turned and punched the wall, listening to the soft "Thud" that came from the padding cushioning my blow. I was about to lay down when I suddenly heard a voice echo through the room. Female. The same female voice I had heard on the com-link earlier. "You shouldn't hurt the walls." I blinked. Why the hell would it matter if I punched a wall?

I shook my head and moved to the back corner of the room so I could keep a eye on the only entrance into the room. I lost track of time in the dark. I couldn't even tell if time was moving, it had felt more like it had stopped. For a while there it had actually felt like I was floating. Once I felt that I suddenly realized that I had passed out. I shook my head and tried to force myself awake.

I had experience with nightmares I had to force myself out of so this wasn't a problem. When I finally woke myself I had a splitting headache. My body was starting to hurt again. Soon I realized that it wasn't the worst of the problem. I was actually floating but not how I had been thinking or dreamed. I was in some kind of green liquid. I could move enough to see that I had a mask on, a hose connected to the mask. Bringing me air I guessed.

I tried to move further but I couldn't. My limbs felt like lead. My head was slowly starting to feel the same, soon to follow was my eyes. I guess I was tired. I tried to fight it. I heard echoes in the liquid around me. Voices. They were faint and from what I could tell they were talking about me.

I continued to try and fight the sleep that was trying to overtake me. After a while I had figured I won because I felt like I had woken up. Soon I realized it was a dream. Once again I was running through the forest. This time there was a female there. She was pointing at something before she ran off into the woods. I tried to follow but I couldn't move.

My mind slowly began to drift into darkness. With the darkness came a inability to see what was around me. Once I thought I heard voices. A second time I thought I heard alarms. The third time, I heard nothing. Only the emptiness of everything around. My body started to feel cold and slowly I began to forget who I was. The darkness mixed with my mind and soon I started to feel myself being taken away a bit at a time untill after a while I couldnt even remember who I was or were I was. All I knew was the darkness around me and the liquid I was in..
