Mike's Pokemon Chapter 2
#2 of Mike's Pokemon
So after getting off my lazy ass I finally decided to upload the second chapter of my story.

Forming a Bond
I awoke to the sound of my alarm clock. It read 7:00 a.m. I got out of bed, yawning and stretching, then headed into the bathroom. There I brushed my teeth and showered. After exiting the shower, I was greeted by my Espeon.
"I still need to give you two names. I'll call you Espi and the Umbreon will be named Shadow." Espi yipped at me and started rubbing up against my legs. I smiled and scratched behind her ear. I received a shock when I started hearing her purr.
"Espi!" she yipped at me before running around the house. I could tell she really liked her new home. Wondering what Shadow was doing, I headed off to his room. What I saw didn't surprise me. He was in his bed, fast asleep. I walked over and kneeled down in front of him.
"Wake up Shadow," I said softly as I shook him lightly. He gave what I assume to be a grunt and tried to rotate his body away from me. I shook him a little more and got a little bit of success. Shadow opened his eyes a little but remained motionless. It was then that Espi ran into the room. She walked over to the Umbreon and licked his nose. Shadow's eyes shot wide open in half a second and he got up. He must have really liked her sign of affection cause his tail was wagging pretty fast.
"Umbreon!" he barked happily. He then ran out to the kitchen, Espi not too far behind him. When I got there I saw them pushing their bowls towards me.
"Ha ha okay I'll feed you," I said with a laugh as I grabbed the bag of Oran and Sitrus Berries. "Which would you like?" I asked. Both of them started pawing the Sitrus Berry bag. I put the Oran one back and poured the berries into their dishes. I stepped back and watched them eat their food happily. "Try not to over eat. Today we're going to test your battling skills." They both looked at me with a face of fear. "I won't push you too much. I just need to see where you're at so I know what we need to improve. Don't you two want to overthrow Giovanni and pay him back for all the harm he's done?" They both looked at each other, then back at me. Before I had time to react they pounced together at the same time on me and started to viciously lick my face.
After they finished eating I grabbed a couple Pokeballs. I bent down in front of Espi and Shadow.
"You two must be caught in order to make this official. Otherwise anyone can catch you to make you their own." They both nodded and went to touch the Pokeballs. I then got an idea and quickly swiped the balls away from them before they touched them.
"Espi?" Espi questioned.
"I just remembered I have special Pokeballs. I'll be right back." I then left for my Pokemon Storage Room. I searched through the hundreds of Pokemon items until I found what I was looking for. I returned to them and knelt down again. "Shadow for you, I have this," I said as I placed a black Pokeball with a yellow ring on top in front of him. "It's custom made for an Umbreon." I watched him touch it. His body turned red and he was sucked into the Pokeball.
"Espeon!" Espi exclaimed with what sounded like fear. She ran over to the ball and sniffed it. Her nose accidentally hit the button, releasing Shadow from the Pokeball.
"Espi the ball holds you inside so that I can carry you anywhere. There will be times where you'll have to stay in the Pokeball but for the most part I'll let you two roam outside of them. I use them mainly to show that you are my Pokemon and so that no one can claim you two as their own," I explained. She relaxed and sat next to Shadow. I saw him inch a little closer to her.
"Umbreon!" Shadow exclaimed happily. I then turned my attention to Espi. I placed a pink Pokeball with a ruby circle on top to represent the jewel.
"Alright Espi. Touch the Pokeball and it will be official." I could tell she really didn't like the ball cause she just stared at it for the longest time.
"Espi," she said. I didn't understand her but I take it she said no, cause she turned her head away and closed her eyes.
"Umbreon," Shadow whispered into her ear and nuzzled her neck. I'm guessing he was trying to urge her to do it. He succeeded. Espi blushed at the touch of the Umbreon's nose to her neck. She poked the Pokeball and she was sucked in. After it was confirmed a catch I released Espi. She ran up to Shadow and sat next to him.
"Okay, now that you are officially my Pokemon, lets have a group hug," I said as I knelt down and held out my arms. Both of them ran to me and I embraced them. Once the hug was over I stood up and they resumed their spots where they were sitting. "Now, I'm going to go make a phone call. After that we'll try out your battle skills." They both nodded and ran off. I chuckled to myself as I picked up the phone and dialed Kimberly's number.
"Hello?" she answered on the third ring.
"Hi Kimberly. It's me, Mike."
"Hi Mike! How are you and your Pokemon?
"We're doing good. I gave them names. The Espeon is Espi and I named the Umbreon Shadow."
"That's good."
"Yeah. All I need now are translators so I can understand them." There was a small pause before Kimberly spoke.
"Do you remember the box I gave you?"
"The one you told me not to open until I felt it was time," I answered.
"Yes. I want you to open it."
"Okay. I'll be right back."
"I'll be waiting," she said with a giggle as I put the phone down to get the box. I found it and opened it. My eyes went wide and my mouth hung open. Inside lay a translator. I took it and turned it on and placed it in my ear. I then went back to the phone.
"Thank you so much Kimberly!"
"You're welcome," she said in a sweet voice. "I have to go now. Some of the Pokemon are acting up."
"Okay. Talk to you tomorrow."
"Bye," she said before hanging up. I then went to find my Pokemon. It didn't take me long. They were sitting in the living room.
"You're such a sweet Umbreon Shadow," Espi said to Shadow.
"And you're such a beautiful Espeon," he responded. The two started to nuzzle each other.
"Having fun there you two?" I asked with a smile.
"Mike!" they both exclaimed before pouncing on me.
"What's that thing in your ear?" Shadow asked.
"It's a translator. Now I'll be able to understand you," I answered. They both yipped happily. "Now, what attacks do you two know?" They both looked away.
"I only know a couple weak ones," Shadow said with sadness.
"I know only one," Espi said.
"Well what are they?" I asked.
"Tackle," Espi said with her head and ears down.
"It's okay Espi. Don't be sad by it. You just need to level up is all. What about you Shadow?"
"Tail Whip and Tackle."
"So you two are only level five. That's okay. I'll train you and you'll level up and learn new moves. I do want to give you two a special treat though."
"Yay!" they exclaimed happily. When I got back with the treats they were quite shocked.
"What is that?" Espi asked as I held out two discs.
"It's called a TM. It allows a Pokemon to learn a move, regardless of it's level. The one I have for you is called Cheer Up. It raises your attack and special attack by one stage."
"What TM do you have for me?" Shadow asked eagerly.
"You seemed like the type that would love to get even so for you I got Payback. If the enemy attacked you first then it deals double the damage."
"Nice!"
"Are you ready Espi?" She nodded. I placed the disc on her head. It started spinning and making a slight buzzing sound. When it stop I removed the disc. I repeated the process for Shadow. "Now, lets go try to level you two up so you can get stronger moves." They both yipped in agreement and I pulled out the Pokeballs. They frowned as I did so.
"Do we have to?" Espi asked.
"Yes Espi. I know you don't like it but I have to or else we won't be able to go to where I want to train you." She gave what I assumed to be a sigh.
"Okay. Promise you'll let us out once we get there?"
"I promise. I don't want to make you uncomfortable. I love you both and want you two to be happy." They smiled and started licking my face. After they finished I put them inside their respective Pokeball and left for the training area. The both of them had a lot of potential as fighters. I no longer had any doubts that I could accomplish my dream. Their levels increased by three and they each learned a new move. Both were pleased by this and I rewarded them handsomely. Everything went perfectly today. Now it's night time. I headed off to bed, awaiting the next day for more greatness.
