#1 of Fenrir's Return

K, so I wrote this whole story out back in 7th grade (currently a 2nd semester freshman in college= LONG time ago xD) Basically, it was poorly written and I am debating if I want to go through the entire story, rewriting all of it. Basically, the plot was hurried, I failed at describing, and the story really did not make much sense at some points. However, I do feel that now I have developed enough as a writer to make the story better, to make it as good as it should have been. In other words. That said, I have a lot of work ahead of me IF I want to rewrite everything. So I decided that i will just post the tiny (as in 500 or so words, if that) bit that I have reworked on here to see what kind of reception it gets and to see if continuation of the story would be worth it. If it turns out I peeked people's curiosity, then i will have the motivational drive to keep working on the story, if not, oh well. Also, there will most likely be no yiff as I am nowhere talented enough to write yiff in such a way that it would be a meaningful part of the story, my writing abilities are not at that level yet. So here it is, the preface of my story after this long-winded intro lol

Preface

It was 1604 when we had to leave our home behind and it was all his fault. Fenrir had returned and he wanted my father, more like he needed my father. You see, we are a family of werewolves, but we were not just an ordinary family of werewolves. No, we were direct descendants of Fenrir, the very first of our kind. Fenrir's only goal in life was to spread our virus and to bring about the destruction of the gods and humans alike, along with any werewolves who dared oppose him. He had one problem though: he was forever bound by a spell, Gleipnir. With this spell on him, he could not enact his plans to destroy humanity and the gods. It was like a chain tying him to a tree: he could move a certain distance before the chain would yank him back, reminding him that he was still bound. This is where our family fits in; we are needed to break his bindings, to release Gleipnir. This was why Fenrir was after my dad, he needed the oldest and current alpha of our pack in order to break his bonds and help him take over. This is why we were running; luckily we had the help of one of the best supernatural organizations: Odin's Fist. They have been around for millennia and they had one goal in mind: hide all supernatural existence from humans. They were the law of all us supernatural creatures and were not too fond of Fenrir's plans.

Finally we arrived at the pier where the ship that Odin's Fist had ordered was docked. Relief spread over me, we would make it and start life anew in the "New World" that we had heard so much about. And without my dad to break Fenrir's bond, Odin's Fist could easily take care of him and the world would be saved.

I smiled as I followed behind my dad as we quickly ran up the gangplank towards the ship. I saw the opening to the ship and just as I was about to celebrate, my world came crashing down. In the distance we heard a howl that could freeze the very fires of hell. It was Fenrir and he was getting close, too close. I looked up to my dad and saw the look on his face and knew instantly what he was planning.

"No, please dad! Don't! I know what you're thinking, don't do it!" I screamed in vain. He pushed passed me and walked towards mom. He gave her a hug and a quick kiss on the cheek before he started to run towards the sound of the howling.

"No!" my mom wailed.

"Be strong, Daniel! You are in charge now. I will hold off Fenrir. Hurry, get on the ship and start your life anew in a place where you can live without fear!" I heard dad yell back as he quickly vanished into the distance.

"Dad..." I mumbled, fighting back the tears that threatened to overtake me at any moment. I had to be strong, for mom's sake and my own.
