Doctor Who In The Gift of Anubis Part 2

Doctor! "GaaaaH!" The Doctor shouted, sitting bolt upright, "Hell of a right hook! Gotta watch for that one!" "What happened, Doctor?? The pharaoh asked, "all I heard was a loud growl and you were knocked across the room!!" Rubbing his jaw, the Doctor surveyed the bed where he was hit. He motioned to the pharaoh to take a side of the bed and crept up on the opposite side. "1, 2??..3!!!" The Doctor shouted, but it was too late. Helping the wayward pharaoh to his feet, the Doctor shouted, "After it!" Hamenthotep grabbed the Doctor's arm and said, "Wait Doctor! That was my daughter!" "I don't have time to wait! If she gets away, she could hurt someone!" ,the Doctor snapped. The Creature tore through the underside of the bed and bolted across the room, knocking the Doctor and Hamenthotep on the ground. Running down the east corridor, the Doctor Pursued the wayward princess. The people in the hallway were knocked left and right by the angry Anubia as she attempted to get away from the Doctor. Stopping, the Doctor saw where she was heading. Breaking pursuit, he took of down the corridor that lead to the front gates to head her off. "Move, move, move! Come on out of the way!" ,The pharaoh shouted at the people in the hallway. Hamenthotep saw the Doctor was heading for the front gates and took of after him. The Doctor arrived at the gates and pulled out the Sonic Screwdriver. He saw the princess coming. She saw the Doctor and ran straight for the kill. Thinking quickly, He cranked up the decibels and just as she was upon him, he held it up at her and held the button down. A loud, high-pitched noise emanated from the handy little tool, and the princess Howled and yelped in pain. "Just give up already! I won't hurt you, I'm trying to help!" The doctor cried, but the princess wasn't listening. The Doctor had no choice but to up the decibels even more, and in doing so, knocked her out cold. She fell over with a thud and passed out. Knelling beside her, the Doctor checked to see if he didn't overdo it. The pharaoh had finally caught up and saw what the doctor had done and ran over screaming, "What have you done?!" "Now calm down! I just used my Sonic Screwdriver to produce a high pitched sound resonance to knock her out so she wouldn't kill me!" The doctor fired back. The Pharaoh put his right hand on the left side of princess Anubia's neck and felt her pulse still beating. His daughter was fine. "Now how about we get her back to her room so I can try to figure out what's going on." ,The Doctor motioned to the unconscious princess.

Walking back up the eastern corridor, 4 guards carried the unconscious Princess Anubia on a stretcher, with the Doctor and Hamenthotep following close behind. In his adventures, the Doctor fought Cybermen, Daleks, Rogue time lords, and all manner of creatures. 'This should be nothing to me. Then why do I feel so uneasy?' ,he thought, "Oh no!" ,Hamenthotep cried, then ran to a still form on the floor. The form was a little fox-morph girl, no more than maybe ten, by the Doctor's estimate. The Doctor saw that she was bleeding from her head, and pulled out a stethoscope from his pocket, to check her heartbeat. It was slow, but nevertheless, she was alive. "Blunt force trauma to her left temple," the Doctor surmised, "and a broken leg." The pharaoh was cradling her head and looked at the Doctor in earnest, asking, "Will she be alright? Can you help her?" "I thought these animalities, or whatever you call them heal quickly" The Doctor asked. "For some reason foxes are more mortal than all the others. We can't explain it, and we don't have time to. Help her please!" The Doctor looked directly into the pharaoh's eyes and said with purpose, "In that case, Just you watch me!" Smiling, Hamenthotep called for two of his assistants: "get this man whatever he needs! Whatever he desires, give it to him!" "Right, I'll need some needle and thread, some sterilized cloth and lots of bandages. Oh! And some hot water! ?

The Guards brought the girl to a small room near where the Doctor and Hamenthotep found her. A few minutes later the Pharaoh?s assistants returned with everything the Doctor asked for. Pulling off his coat and suit Jacket, the Doctor, with a smile on his face, said, "Alright! Out of the way, lads! The Doctor is in!"

The sun was setting by the time the Doctor finished. He and Hamenthotep walked to a nearby balcony overlooking the garden, and sat down across from each other. "Well, as far as I could tell, that fox girl was probably in the way when Anubia went running." The Doctor explained, "give her a couple of hours and she'll wake up. Although, she might have one hell of a concussion." "Simply astonishing Doctor! You are indeed a genius." ,the Pharaoh said with wonder. The Doctor smiled and said, "All in a day's work I suppose. Oh Blimey! I forgot!" Hopping up and pulling out the Sonic Screwdriver, he adjusted the settings, hit the switch and pointed it as the corner. Wind gusted as the Tardis materialized where the Doctor pointed! The pharaoh's mouth was open with wonder. Never had he seen such a wonderful display! "There she is! Survive anything!" The Doctor said patted the door of his big blue box. "How did you do that?!" The pharaoh asked. "Simple honing frequency. If ever I get separated from the Tardis, that's what shes called, all I have do is adjust the Screwdriver to the right setting and emit a frequency she will detect and hone in on."

Placing a hand on the box, Hamenthotep asked, "Tardis? That's a peculiar name." The Doctor replied with a smirk, "I suppose it is. But it stands for 'Time And Relative Dimensions In Space. See? Take the first letters of those words, and you get Tardis!" "But its barely big enough for you. How can you even stand it?" The Pharaoh asked. The Doctor just smiled and stood directly in front of the Tardis and with a snap of his fingers, the doors opened. Looking inside, Hamenthotep saw that the inside was immense! The central console stood in the middle of the Tardis. (For those of you who don?t know what the inside of the Tardis looks like, either google it or watch an episode. It?s too complicated to explain!) "But how is this possible?! It's, it's.." "Bigger on the inside?" The Doctor finished. "Yes! Yes bigger on the inside!" The pharaoh stuttered. "Yep, she's my pride and joy." The Doctor agreed. "But how?" , Hamenthotep asked. "Standard Time lord technology. The signature feature of a TARDIS is that the interior exists in a different dimension than the exterior. That makes it bigger on the inside than the out. On my home planet, Tardises were used to travel back and forth through time and space. And you know the weirdest thing? Well it's been so long I can't really remember, but a Tardis is grown, not built. But, it is unclear to what extent a TARDIS is alive, and whether that life extends beyond artificial sentience and into a biological existence." "Simply amazing. I really don't have the words to express" the Pharaoh said. A servant of the pharaoh knocked on the door of the Tardis, shouting, "Your majesty the Fox Girl is awake! Your Daughter is with her! You must come quickly!" Hamenthotep shot a worried look at the Doctor. The Doctor nodded and they both ran off for the Fox girl's recovery room. Arriving a few minutes later, the Doctor and Hamenthotep were both met by the Fox Girl and Anubia. Anubia's face was that of a jackal, and, like her father, the eye of Isis was tattooed around both eyes in gold. She had piercing green eyes that shined like emeralds. But the Doctor was in for even more of a shock: her voice, was Rose Tyler's voice! Slowly, she turned to face him, and smiled. "Hello Doctor."

"How do you know me?" The Doctor asked with a solemn face. "Ha, how could I not? Your deeds are known across the universe." Anubia replied. The Doctor was wary of her; he could tell there was something not quite right. "Who are you?" He asked. "Princess Anubia, of course." She replied. "No, I'm talking to the creature speaking through you." The Doctor shot back, "Now I'm going to ask again. Who are you?" "And I'm telling you: I am Princess Anubia, daughter of Pharaoh Hamenthotep." "Okay, I'm being very calm, as calm as I can be. So just?" "Scan me if you like. I am telling the truth, Doctor, despite what you may think." Anubia snapped. The Doctor sighed an rubbed his eyes. 'This is going nowhere. He thought, 'okay new method.' "You said my deeds are known across the universe. Where did you here of my deeds from, exactly?" He asked. "From your friends, the Daleks of course." She replied "What?!" The Doctor Shouted. "Is that bad Doctor?" Hamenthotep asked. "Pharaoh, the Daleks are my greatest enemies. Always have been. Daleks have no compassion, no remorse, no fear, oh bloody hell they don't have feelings at all! They were created to exterminate the species of the universe without any qualms. They are nothing but soulless beings in cold shells! I thought they were all dead. I faced them and destroyed them all, well not me, but that's another story. But if a Dalek is here, then your empire, your people, everyone is in danger!"

"But Doctor, the Dalek helped us. Why would Talon lie?" Anubia asked. "Because that's what they do, Anubia. They lie and deceive, and when your back is turned they kill!" The Doctor Shouted. "But Doctor?" He put his hands on her shoulders and said "Listen, I know whatever he said to you must have been wonderful, but Daleks don't know compassion, love or generosity. Any thing a Dalek promises is poison. Now, where is he?" "I..I can't... how do I know your telling the truth?" Anubia said. The Doctor sighed and knew what he had to do. He would have to show her what the Daleks truly were. "Pharaoh, can your guards stay with the girl?" "Of course," Hamenthotep said, "why?" "I'm going to show you what the Daleks really are." ,The Doctor said, "Come with me."

As the Doctor walked down the corridor toward the balcony where the Tardis was resting, Hamenthotep was concerned with the Doctor's statement of the Dalek's true nature. "Doctor, if what you say is indeed true, why would Talon need us? If he is indeed so powerful, why not just kill us and end it?" Pharaoh asked. "I don't know. Maybe that's why the Tardis landed here. To have me stop whatever...wait, Talon? Why are you calling him that? Daleks don't have names." Anubia came up beside the Doctor and said, "That's how he identified himself, when we first found him. He told us he came to help us with our transformation. He promised to reverse them, so we could be human again." "And just how is he planning to fix you?" The Doctor asked, "if he's alone, then he has no technology to do that with." Hamenthotep answered, "He said you would come, that your Tardis would bring you here." "And that he can use your Tardis to cure us. He said the Wondrous things inside could help." ,Hamenthotep finished. "HA! I'll Die a thousand deaths before I let my Tardis fall into the grubby hands of a Dalek!" The Doctor bellowed. Anubia stopped and clenched her fists. Seeing this, The Doctor knew it was best not to anger her. "So the almighty Time Lord refuses to help us?" She Growled. The Doctor stepped forward and spoke softly, "Now I never said that. I will do everything I can to help you and your people, but I am not letting this so called 'Talon' get anywhere near my Tardis." "Why is a Dalek so threatening to you?" She scowled. "We're here. I'll show you why." He said. Snapping his Fingers the Doctor opened his Tardis. Motioning to Anubia and her father, he stepped inside, whipped off his jacket and stepped up to the console. Hamenthotep stepped inside, following the Doctor. Anubia, however, was not sure about the blue box that contained such a vast temple. "It's alright," the Doctor said, "it's just bigger on the inside, that's all. Now come over here." Anubia stepped over to her father and remained there, afraid of where she was. The Doctor disappeared below the console and started messing with wires and switches connected to the Tardis's memory core. "What are you doing Doctor?" Hamenthotep asked. "The Tardis is a living thing. And as a living thing it has many unique qualities. One of which, is a unique memory core that records all events it sees. I have been to so many places. You name it I've been there. No has ever seen what I have to show you. You believe Talon, a Dalek is going to help you? Well this is what he really is!" With a loud bang, the memory core activated, and the Doctor reappeared next to Hamenthotep and Anubia.

The Console and the walls of the Tardis disappeared, replaced by a red planet, sitting in the middle of space slowly rotating. Comets flew by, some falling into the atmosphere and burning up. "What you see now, is my home planet. Gallifrey was the long time home of the Time Lords, for billions of years." The Doctor said, "and if you're wondering why its red, it's because the grass on my planet was red. The Trees were silver, and we had two suns." Hamenthotep saw the planet farther away from Gallifrey, and asked "What is this one here?" "That, is Skaaro, homeworld of the Daleks, or as they were known then, the Kaleds. They were Gallifrey's neighboring species." The Doctor said, "They lived in peace with us for many years." "If you lived in peace for many years, why do you hate them now?" Anubia asked. "It's been so long I don't remember how, but a war broke out. Not just across space, but time as well. A scientist on their home planet, by the name of Davros, believed the Kaleds were weak because of their emotions. He sought to create a species that could live without emotions. He used live Kaleds and stripped away what made them humane and wrapped them in a cold shell. After that, this was born." He used the Sonic Screwdriver and an image appeared. A metal structure, with an eye stalk ending in a cold blue eye. (SEARCH THE NET FOR AN IMAGE OF A DALEK) "This is a Dalek. The mass murderer of time and space, as well as the rest of the universe. I assume this is what Talon looks like?" The Doctor said. "Yes that looks just like Talon, except he's white. But I still don't see why you hate him so." Anubia said. The Doctor looked at her and simply pointed at the Dalek with the Sonic Screwdriver and in its place the Dalek became Gallifrey. "Because when the war broke out, my people changed." The Doctor said, "Time lords have this little trick called Regeneration. When we die, our body repairs itself by changing our face. Every time a time lord died, they were reborn just to die again in a new way. The more they regenerated, the more they lost who they were."

The Doctor wiped a tear from his eye and used the Screwdriver again. There was a whoosh and ships flew from Skaaro toward Gallifrey. Fires from the planet could be seen from where The Doctor and his companions were standing. The memory fast forward to the citadel of the Time Lords. The ships from Skaaro flew overhead, firing at the structure, some being shot out of the sky in the process. After they shot through the defenses, the Dalek ships were positioned around the structure. In unison, they fired, and the image warped to the orbit around the planet. Suddenly, there was a flash, and both Skaaro and Gallifrey caught fire, burning with the brightness of ten suns. After burning they disappeared and all was silent. In the distance, a blue box could be seen drifting in space. "That"s the Tardis! You survived that hell?" Hamenthotep said. The Doctor simply nodded. Staring at where Gallifrey had been, tears flowed from his eyes, but he never uttered a sound. Anubia walked over and stood next to the Doctor. She, too, had tears in her eyes. Hamenthotep asked, "Did anyone else survive?" "One." The Doctor replied. "Well where is he?" "Dead." "You really are alone?" Anubia sobbed. The Doctor walked over to the console and shut down the memory core, all the while still crying.

"Yes. I am." The Doctor replied.
