Second Chapter.

If you haven't already, I would reccomend reading chapter 1 first. A story is always best told in the order it was written.

Enjoy!

Midday.

The sun was bright.

Few clouds in sight.

Now was as good as ever to begin.

Lucky dashed forward with lightning speed.

Fueled by adrenaline, he sprinted towards a short building and leaped with incredible precision.

Taking 3 steps up the vertical concrete wall, he launched himself as high as he could, grabbing the edge of the roof and skilfully pulling himself up.

With his beautiful golden fur shining in the day's light, he continued to run, as fast as he possibly could, towards the next building.

The large gap between the 2 buildings didn't phase him one bit as he leapt across the alley below, and grabbed onto a fire escape ladder on the side of the next, taller building.

Skilfully climbing the ladder, he was atop the next building within seconds.

Still at such a great speed, he ran for the edge, noticing at the last second, the large amount of obstacles in between him, and where he was headed.

By then, he would have crossed most of the city on foot, faster than any car could take him.

Jumping high onto and off of the edge of the building, he hit the other wall, running 2 steps up before finally launching himself towards a window.

Adrenaline, coursing through his body, the streak of gold that was his hand, snatched onto the windowsill, and with great strength and a continuous movement, he jerked himself up and started to grab windowsill after windowsill until finally, with a huge burst of energy, he threw his body up to the roof and pulled his it over the edge.

Still running, he noticed that ahead was a large carpark, but it must have been 4 storeys lower than this apartment.

This was no problem.

He hit the edge of the roof with amazing precision and grace, and leaped, a huge leap, that seemed to last for minutes, before landing against the hard concrete and rolling over his left shoulder to absorb the fall.

His blood pumping furiously through his veins, he finished his roll and ended back on his feet and was still running. Faster than before.

He wasn't on the roof this time. No. Roof's were too easy. This time, he was dodging smaller obstacles.

He ducked as he sprinted under low walls and metal bars, still at an insane speed.

A quarter of the way through, but it was only going to get harder.

He leapt a barrier and fell for a couple of seconds before hitting the hard concrete road that snaked it's way up and around the carpark.

It didn't hurt. If anything, it made him faster.

Again, sprinting so fast that he was almost a blur to anyone who dared to watch, he dived over a car, and rolled along the ground to his feet, losing no momentum at all.

His ears, for once, were rigid and did not flop around at each sudden movement. But he was too busy to notice, concentrating on every movement he would make with extreme precision.

A staircase.

He hated stairs, they were no fun.

He leapt onto the hand rail and ran on all fours up the side of the stairs with ease before leaping from the rail, over a car, onto a thin metal fence, that was standing between the parked cars and a long drop to the ground.

Adrenaline running high, he sprinted along the thin fence, jumping, right at the end, and landing with one foot on a concrete barrier similar to one he had jumped off of previously.

With a pulse of strength, he launched his body over the car parked in front of the barrier, rolling as he hit the ground and getting back to his feet instantly.

No time for rest.

Dodging similar walls and metal bars as before, he found himself on the other side of the carpark approaching the edge at incredible speed.

A tall building stood in front of his speeding body, as he jumped off the carpark's edge.

Flying through the air, he felt better than ever. The sensation of having nothing nearby to grab on to as you soar through the air at a high speed.

This is a thrill that only parkour could give you.

Hitting the large, tall brick wall, he ran on all fours up the vertical surface pushing hard against the wall 4 times before finally launching off it for the fifth.

It was very high...

He didn't know if he could make it...

Reaching out as far as he could as he slowly reched the top, he ran out of speed, only narrowly managing to cling onto a large crack in the bricks.

From here, he pulled himself up to the roof of the 7 storey building with speed and ease.

That was close.

Halfway there.

He needed to get down to the subway.

But first, he needed to get across the wide street below him.

This was a real challenge.

He sprang up over the edge of the building, clearly not able to jump accross to the buildings opposite.

This was going to be tricky.

Falling for a few seconds gave him the small break he needed to regain the concentration to pull this off.

The lamp post was a good opportunity.

He would swing from the top of the curved lamp post then run along the side of the building, maintaining the momentum from the previous fall.

There, he would have slowed down enough, yet still had enough speed to jump to the next one, from which he would slide down and run accross the busy street.

This was he hoped would happen...

He realised that the post was facing inward to the street, so when he grabbed it, his right paw slipped off it and he injured his right arm.

Still managing to maintain decent momentum from the swing, he ran along the wall of the building he had jumped from at high speed but slipped a bit, and nearly fell, only saving himself at the last second by pushing off with whatever he had left.

He fell a bit short of the curved part of the post.

He turned sideways and started to swing horizontally around the lower part of the post, nearly slipping off due to his now-injured arm; but maintained his grip just long enough to decrease his speed.

Arms now wrapped around the post, he slid down to the ground and rolled to counter for the hard impact.

Back on his feet, he ran. No cars? Good.

The subway was a block or two over, so he had to take the alleyway.

Sprinting accross the usually-busy road, he noticed his arm wasn't hurting.

Must have been all the adrenaline.

Entering the alleyway, he noticed a large collection of boxes, a dumpster and other trash blocking the path ahead.

This was easy.

Nearing the blockage at a terrific speed, he launched to the left running up and along the side of the wall, well clear of the rubbish and boxes.

Dodging puddles of water as he ran down the wet backalley, he came to a tunnel.

He was under two joined buildings, and straight ahead at the exit of the tunnel, was another brick building.

This is something he had wanted to try for ages. Though he couldn't see it, he had hoped for something to grab onto on the side of the building he was under, that he could use to climb to the top.

Exiting the tunnel at high speed, he pressed the paws on his legs hard against the wall, running 3 steps up before pushing off of it altogether, backwards, towards the building with the tunnel.

There. Exsactly what he was hoping for.

He grabbed onto the bottom of the emergency staircase and started to climb up the side.

The metal structure was quite weak and felt like it could break under his weight at any time, but he kept climbing.

Reaching the top, he threw himself over the edge and onto his shoulder, from which he skilfully rolled back to his feet.

He was now one large gap away from the building next to the entrance to the subway.

He couldn't jump it.

It was times like this he wished he had a crossbow that fired a grappling hook.

It was times like this he wished he could fly.

But he could do without.

He had to.

After a split-second of examining the wall he needed to get on top of, he noticed a small open window in the hallway of the building.

He had originally decided that he was going to get on the roof and take the stairs down, but perhaps a window would work just as well?

It was his only option.

He leapt.

Once again, soaring through the air towards the tall brick wall in front of him, he could feel his heart beating fast. So fast that it might just explode.

The open window was quite far down the wall, and he was going too fast to grab it. if he tried, his arms would probably be ripped off, and he would fall.

This, he clearly did not want.

He ran along the side and tried to change his momentum to horizontal, not vertical.

This didn't help greatly, as he was now going too fast to the side that he would go past the window.

His last chance was the use his nails.

He hated resorting to this. It hurt.

He dug his nails into the wall as hard as he could, trying desperately to get a grip.

Large scratch marks were made as his entire body's weight and momentum was put against his nails and the wall.

The splitting pain shooting through his fingertips didn't affect him; he had so much adrenaline pumping through his body that he could feel no pain.

It was working. He had slowed greatly and now could allow himself to drop down, and grab the windowsill below his left leg's paw.

The drop was slow, but the relief he felt on his nails was so refreshing after enduring such a task.

His lightning fast, golden paws grabbed the windowsill tightly, as he pulled himself up and into the hallway.

He pressed the button on the elevator, but waiting for it seemed like it would take forever so he went for the stairs instead.

Stairs...

Oh how he despised stairs.

These ones didn't have a handrail...

He hated this place already.

He leapt down an entire flight of stairs, before rolling around to the left and getting to his feet. This flight was longer and he couldn't jump far enough, so he had to walk like a normal fur would.

Bounding down the steps, skipping 3 at a time, he reached the ground floor and went outside to see the subway entrance right in front of him.

Nearly there.

This was the quickest way he knew.

He never rode on any of the subways.

He had better ways of getting around.

He reached the platform within seconds after bounding down numerous handrails on the sides of staircases.

Nobody around.

The subway was empty. He jumped down onto the subway tracks and began to sprint.

After a while the tunnel seemed to get smaller.

In fact...

He almost thought he could-

He heard a noise in the distance...

A big light turned the corner in front of him and was headed straight for him!

He had to try it.

He leapt high onto the wall on his left, sprinting up against it, and after one and a half seconds, he found himself running upside-down on the roof of the tunnel.

This lasted for what seemed to be minutes, when in reality it would have lasted half a second at most.

The bright light and noisy carriages passed under him as he returned to the ground after having run all the way around the inside of the tunnel.

That...

That was cool.

2 minutes of running down the dark tunnel lead him to the next platform. It was pretty high.

Nothing a good wall-run wouldn't fix.

3 sprinted steps up the wall, and he pulled himself up with the spare momentum.

Easy.

Just in time too, another light started heading down the tunnel towards where he had climbed up from.

He had made great time. Far faster than any car would have taken him.

What seemed like several hours took only 7 minutes.

He headed for the surface.

He was next to the building he was expecting. He had gone the right way.

He entered the building nearest to the subway exit.

This elevator took much less time to get here, and it took him to the top in only 20 short seconds.

He liked elevators.

There it was.

The place he had spent this whole time trying to get to.

There it was.

The helicopter that would take him where he needed to go.

All that seperated them was this one gap.

Without looking back, he summoned up all the strength and adrenaline he had left and bolted in a large gold blur towards the edge of the concrete building.

Hitting the edge as hard as he could, he soared for the last time through the air.

But there was one problem...

He had overestimated himself.

The jump was too big...

...He was falling...

...A cool sensation suddenly rushing over him...

...There was nothing he could do as he helplessly fell from what seemed to be thousands of metres from above the ground...

The air rushing past him, he knew it was over.

LuCkY woke up, desperately trying to grab something and clinging onto his bed.

His fur, covered in sweat as he found himself rather shaken by his awakening; was still intact.

Nothing had happened.

It was all a dream...

"All a dream..." He said to himself.

A glance at the ticking clock on the wall told him that he should go back to bed.

He had an important guest tomorrow...

...One that meant more than anything to him right now.

That's the end of Ch 2. Hope you liked it.

I'm still pretty new to this, so if i made any mistakes or anything, please let me know and I'll probably edit them out or something.
