-General Description-
Be-Reux-Sne (short term: Reux) are an aquatic species similar to a humanoid Earth orca. They often stand 4-5 meters tall, weighing between 200 and 225 kilograms on average.
From that base image, changes are as follows: The head has no blowhole, and possesses three sets of eyes in a line pattern on each side. Only the middle pair of eyes stay open constantly, with the two auxillary pairs opening only in darkness. These eyes are specially tuned for deep water darkness, and grant natural infrared and night visions. Their mouth is wide, with many small but sharp teeth that are retractable, as well as long tongues that can flatten out to scoop in water. The neck is broad, possessing a set of gills on each side. They can breathe air and water, though are not amphibians.
They have a pair of arms ending in three digit webbed hands, and a second set of mitten-like hands with rows of suction cups at their midsection (to each side of the stomach of an anthro orca). This second set is used to grip surfaces, mostly to climb or hold onto object. Their legs are long and plantigrade, and the hips are heavily connected to the tail. The tail itself is twice as long as an anthro orca's, and ends in a X-shaped fin. Additionally, their legs can be tucked in the tail seamlessly, making them look almost like enlongated fish.
They have a thick spine that can be seen on their back, protected by armored bone plates underneath the surface. Mid-way down the back is a pair of side-by-side orca-style dorsal fins. On the underside, just behind the "groin" and between the hips, is a similar pair of ventral fins, though these have long strands of sensitive skin that dangle form the tip, allowing them to sense even the smallest disturbance in either air or water. It is literally impossible to sneak up on one.
They possess no vocal chords, instead having a special "harmonic membrane" that allows them to make basic melodic sounds. These sounds are similar to "songs" made by Earth's whale sub-species, though aren't used for normal communication. Instead, they're used in mating rituals, and to communicate feelings or emotions. They use basic imagery, along with minor telepathic powers that can interface with all species BUT insectoids, being incompatible with the latter. They also possess no "stomach", relying on microscopic plankton to sustain them by absorbing a special nutrient made from natural sunlight, not found on any other planet.
Reux are natual hermaphrodites, though only possess only one sexual organ. They possess a large and thick prehensile "penis", similar in general shape to the Earth orca, with two openings near the base of it's length, one each on the top and botom. These openings are connected to an internal womb, acting as sensitive vaginal openings. While Reux welcome casual sexual intercourse, they mate only with their own species. During mating, each Reux will insert the tip of their penis into one of the partner's two openings, and begin the mating process with each other. When with other species, they have no qualms with mating due to being unable to become impregnated from any species aside from their own.
-History and Culture-
Be-Reux-Sne originate from the planet Barrier VII in the Reux Baria system (Legecian realm). It is 80% water, and 20% land. The species has no written records, as they have no spoken or written language. As such, history is not available. While sentient and space-faring, their culture has not been studied out of respect for their privacy.
