Just another boring day. Nothing on TV. No work available. No friends. Nothing.

Lucky just sat there. Nothing to do. Noone to talk to.

More bored than ever, he watches the clock on the wall tick slowly. "Why does time always go slowly when you're bored?" He asked aloud, though nobody was there to hear it. He sighed and slowly walked into the bathroom and took a look at himself in the mirror.

He looked over himself multiple times. There was nothing else to do.

Just a golden-brown dog, staring at himself in the mirror. He stared at his long golden fur and his big floppy ears that got so annoying on windy days. He tries to prick them up, but they just flop backwards. Useless ears. His dark brown eyes stared back at him. He was just a plain, ordinary Cavoodle.

"Lucky...", he moaned to himself. "Why did they call me Lucky?"

His parents had given him that name. Lucky never knew why.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
2 years ago, his parents went out for a holiday, but they never came back. Lucky really hoped that they were still out there, but deep down inside, he knew they were in a better place. They wouldn't have left him. Not without atleast hinting that they were about to.
No. Whatever stopped them from coming back must have been an accident. One they could not have avoided.
They were good people. They didnt deserve to die. Ever since, Lucky had been living alone. Doing everything alone. He never used to be alone. And he wishes he could go back to that. He missed it so much. If he had to choose between $1,000,000 and all his old friends, he'd gladly take his friends. He needed people, he hated to be alone.
Not very long ago, he had a girlfriend, Samantha. A nice little dalmation. There was one thing about Lucky that put her off, and she dumped him as soon as he told her. Lucky didnt mind whether his mate was male or female. In Lucky's head, there was nothing wrong with this, and she would have just simply learnt more about him. But Samantha hates homosexuals and couldn't stand being with someone who could be one.
So when they were lying on the edge of a beautiful, sandy beach, snuggled up together, and Lucky told her; He was walking around with a big red mark on the side of his face in the shape of her paw.
Lucky doesn't understand why she did that. Why should it matter who you want to be with for the rest of your life? As long as you really like them, what is wrong with them being the same gender as you? To Lucky, there was no answer to that question. But apparently to Samantha, there was.
All his friends had left after school. They were good friends. He loved thier company. But when school finished, they all went their seperate ways and Lucky had never heard from any of them again. Lucky was alone in life.
He had no-one.
"Absolutely no-one." Lucky whimpered.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Lucky realised that he was dwelling on bad thoughts. Being pesimistic is something Lucky despises. "Without optimism the world would have killed itself long ago." He muttered to himself, as he took some deep breaths and tried to clear the bad thoughts out of his mind.

He always remembered his father saying that to him. "Without optimism, the world would have killed itself long ago, my son. Now if you ever have bad thoughts, get them out. They dont help you. Take deep breaths and have a glass of nice, cool water."

Water sounded like a good idea.

He headed downstairs and poured himself something to drink. He may have been alone, but he could live without other people. He had been for a while so he isn't really too bothered by it. he turned on the TV again and checked if there was anything worth watching.

As always, no.

He hated watching kids programs. He hated murder mysteries. He hated music videos.

But he liked comedy. Action. violence. People acting or doing stupid things amuses him.

Sadly, nothing of the sorts came on. "Well, back to staring at the clock." he said becoming more and more depressed by his boredom and loneliness. Before long, he ended up back in front of the mirror. the same old fur, same old brown eyes. Same old name. That name that didnt make sense to him.

"Why did they call me Lucky?" he asked himself again. "I don't feel very lucky. Look where I ended up? staring at the mirror. Asking myself about my own name." He sighed, shrugged off all the bad thoughts and tried to think of all the good things in his life.

"Why am I Lucky? What makes me Lucky?" he asked himself as he tried to think of those good things.

He was smart.

He once had good friends, and probably could make new ones.

He was very talented, especially in acting, dancing and singing.

Where did it all go?

Why?

He has no friends, a bad job where he's being underpaid for working overtime; he can't even find any roles for acting, dancing or singing. He was smart in school, but no-one knows how smart he is outside of school. He had no connections. no-one could find him any roles for musicals, TV shows or movies.

He was alone.

Tears welled up in his eyes as he realised that he had very little that he could do about it. He was just going to stay alone. He lay on his bed and whimpered softly for a while. No-one could hear him. He missed his friends. He needed them. He was falling apart without them. He had already given up on his parents. His friends were something he could get back. But he just didnt know how.

He couldn't cope without them. Maybe he would do something to make it all go away...

No.

He wouldn't do that.

That wouldn't solve anything.

Lucky had pondered this decision much in the past.

The decision of ending his own life.

But he knew it wasn't worth it.

He hadn't lived those 19 years for nothing.

He wouldn't kill himself.

Not now, not ever.

He noticed that his paw was tingling. It does that sometimes. He doesn't know why, But he knew how to make it stop.

(and no, this is not a dirty part. Geez, you viewers are very sick minded.)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He hopped onto his computer and started to play one of his favourite violent videogames online. None of his few friends were on. So he just played a random server. After an hour or two, he noticed his paw had stopped tingling.He didn't know when it had stopped. He wasn't really focusing on it as he was immersed in his game, but it was good to know that this method still worked.
He was suddenly killed from behind by a missle someone had fired from a helicopter about 400 metres above him. "Nice shot" he typed, followed by a response of "Thanks, I try. *smiley face*" The two started to talk while they played. After a while the other player started taking interest in Lucky's life. Lucky wasn't very happy talking about it in an open game so he added the player as a friend.
He was suprised to see that the other player had instantly accepted the request. They began to start privately talking. Lucky told them about how his life had been turned upside down and they responded with sympathy and compassion. Lucky liked to know that someone cared about him. He didn't know the person but it felt nice all the same.
Eventually the question popped up: "Where do you live?"
Lucky hesitated, then answered, not seeing how it could possibly hurt to tell him.
A confused look shot across his face after reading the response.
"Holy crap-"
...
...
...
...
"You still there?" asked Lucky.
"Dude!"
"What?" replied Lucky
"You live 2 BLOCKS away from me!!!"
"WHAT?!" replied a shocked and somewhat confused Lucky.
"You live only 2 blocks away from me! I'm over on Jones st!"
"WOW!!!" Lucky thought to himself.
This stranger had appeared out of nowhere in a game, wanting to be friends with him; and he only lived 2 blocks away?! This sounded to good to be true. But Lucky just kept hoping he wasn't joking.
"Dude, I've got to come see you! Can I come over tomorrow?" the friendly stranger asked.
"Well...
...Sure!" replied lucky who was becoming more and more excited, stroking the fur on the top of his head.
Lucky had finally found a friend. A real one. Not just one who he plays online violent video games with, but one that is actually going to see him in real life!!!
"Maybe Lucky isn't so unlucky after all..." Lucky thought to himself as he wagged his tail excitedly.
And so concludes chapter one of my first ever series. As I said before, this is my first ever written piece so I would like to know what I could improve on.
And Dizzy, uhhhh if i copied anything you wrote in any way, just want you to know it was an accident and it just slipped in due to my shortness of inspiration. If it does seem to be majorly similar to your new series in any way, i will steer the storyline away from yours. I have some good back--up ideas so it wont be hard.
