Astaroth- part1
This is My first Fanfiction EVER. Please be kind if you see any grammatical errors because my first language is not english but spanish. I would greatly appreciate any ideas about how to develop my characters. Original concept by Lurking Dragon. Some characters are based in Kayla's series by Professor Bob (thank you Bob, I'll dedicate this series to you) . Astaroth Ankh the batmorph (and the world and concepts in which this series will develop is entirely my creation, so NO STEALING). May contain adult situations. If you are a minor, you should NOT read this material or where it is forbidden.
First story
Pain...
He felt confused but at the same time a mix of ansiety and relief. Anxiety about what the future might depart and relief because the pain that he felt means that he was still in the realm of the living. Still... he felt an emptiness in his hearth when he realized that he wouldn't see his parents ever again. The soft humming of the rejuvenation chamber began to rise as the comatose female bat was rejuvenated again into a four-year old male. Although he is in a different country and that means he will not be persecuted or discriminated like the members of his species who are still in the island in which he came from, he still felt nervous.
Rejuvenation Technician #1 : Everything is working just fine. His body is within the parameters. The whole process will finish in ten minutes.
Rejuvenation Technician #2 : But I was puzzled because in the beggining he took a higher dossage of radiation than most species. Not only that but the vital reading signals went off the scale three times in a row. I don't get it. Did you saw that creepy glow in her eyes. I almost thought she was absorbing radiation. But that's impossible.
Tech#1 : Well, this is a kind of furry nobody has ever rejuvenated so we will have to check his vital signs four times in a row with the manual that came form his country to double check him before letting him go. Right?
Tech#2 ; You can count on that, partner.
The young bat-morph was still nervous but he followed the tech's instruction's as fast as he could.
Bat-morph cub : Whath happeneth to mah voish? Why mah unca Vinnie didn't cum to zee mee? Is he still in tha eyeland?
Tech #1 : Your uncle told me he was in the airport and that he would meet you in your adoptive parent's house. Be careful, your body still has to adjust to your present form and you are still very weak. Can I help you get dressed?
Bat-morph: Yes, pleaze.
The tech began to diaper the bat and help him with his red shirt, put the velcro tabs around his wing membranes, then finally help him with his denim overalls and a pair off soft sandals. He looked at his new body and felt better when he realized that he was healed but he was speechless when he looked at his younger self.
Tech#2 : Your new parents are waiting in the lobby. Here's your chip containing all your medical and statistical information. Good luck!
When the batmorph padded to the lobby and the automatic doors opened he saw a young couple of Aspatrian foxes. He wasn't sure if they were his parents but decided to ask.
Astaroth : Erm, hello... I'm looking for my new parents. My name is Astaroth La Sombra.
Male fox : Hello. My name is William Dickinson and his is my wife Kate.
Kate : Hello, little one, we are your assigned new parents. We have to go to the registration booth to check that all the documents are in order. Then we will go to our new home.
Astaroth: My uncle Vinnie was suppsed to be here? I'm beggining to get worried.
Will: I spoke to him ten minutes ago. He's already late so we will meet him in our house tonight.
Astaroth : Really, I'm really anxious to see him.
Kate : Okay, let's move our tails and go home.
The pair of foxes took the bat by each paw and walked to the hovercar. As William was starting the engine Kate was securing the rejuve into the children safety seat. The vixen saw that the cub was enjoying the travel but he was unusually quiet during the travel. She decided that she would ask in the proper time.Kate decided to break the ice and start a conversation : It seems the way you are looking everything is new to you, isn't it?
Astaroth :Yes, Ma'am, although my uncle taught me panglish and draconian the way people live here is new to me.
William interrupted with a question : You look like you have been rejuvenated at a very young age.
Astaroth answered : Yes mister. Chronologically speaking, I am fifteen years old.
The foxes nearly jumped off their seats with surprise. Kate whispered : 'Love, I think something seriously wrong happened to this cub.It's unheard that somebody this young would be rejuvenated this way unless he was serious injured or a young 'juvenalos'.
Suddenly the celular phone rang and after a few minutes of conversation, Kate spoke to the cub : 'Your uncle Vincent called and said that the flight will be three hour late and that he will postpone his visit until tomorrow morning'. Astaroth lowered his head when he heard the bad news. Kate tried to cheer him up : 'Don't worry little one, your uncle will come in the morning to visit us. He said he will give you a welcome gift tomorrow.' The bat cub smiled.
When the vulpine family came home Katherine went to the kitchen to fix dinner while William changed the cub's diaper and gave him his nano-medicine : Now be a good cub and swallow.' The bat started to make a face so the fox took a syringe and carefully pried the bat's muzzle. After the cub swallowed the medicine William gave him a swat on his furry rear. the bat screetched in protest. William reprimanded him: 'This is for your own good so don't complain.'
Then Astaroth heard Katherine yell : 'Amanda, wash your paws and come quick, dinner is ready.' Some time later a female Jalaxian cat came to the living room, clad in a blue t-shirt and denims. Suddenly the cub stood up and to everyone's surprise he gave the Jalaxian Cat a tender kiss in the mouth. Katherine bursted into laugh while William told the cub : 'I didn't know you liked boys.' The bat's face turned red beneat his fur when he realized what he had done to a rejuvenated child with Y-repression. The female cat went fuming to her room.
Amanda didn't like the idea of sharing her room with the bat: 'Mom, for God's sake, he a boy and I don't want him to pull any funny ideas. Not only that, but he might wet the bed.'
Katherine replied : 'Just be patient dear, he looks like a very traumatized minor. I'll make him wear rubber pants if you want. You just have to keep an eye on him, and IF something serious happens you will use the micro-intercom,Okay?. I want you to be in your best behavior.'
Okay Mom, I promise, Amanda sighed.
So without any problems they went to bed. Amanda was glad that the cub was wearing rubber pants. She felt tired after her unearned punishment so she felt asleep almost instantly. Astaroth went to the small suitcase and placed a small photograph wrapped in black cloth with a lilac bow on the night table. He began to mutter a prayer. Suddenly he felt like... he was walking on a beach (??!!!). He started to walk along the shore when his hingleg brushed with something. He felt that a cold claw grabbed his hindpaw like a steel grip as a fire pit was forming beneath him. More claws appeared out of the pit and slowly dragged him inside the crater. He screamed as he fell down.
The bat screetched in panic. 'FIRE! FIRE!' The bat woke up with a piercing screech as he bolted from the room. Amanda was alarmed when she heard the warning and called for help. But she was perplexed when she saw that the room was in order. Then she heard a muffled scream as the bat fell down the ladders and hurt his ankle. The panicked foxes ran into Amanda's room. They saw that Amanda was helping the bat stand up and he was walking with difficulty. The foxes asked Amanda about what happened and she told them what she knew. The couple decided to say nothing to the bat as they bandaged the bat's ankle and changed his diaper.
When they went to the room to put the boy to sleep the family stood frozed when they saw the mortuary photo with an older version of Astaroth surrounded with a pair of older bat's and what apparently looked like his younger siblings.William gave the bat some hypno-spray and a sedative pad to keep him asleep.
Kate spoke to Amanda : 'You handled very well this situation and avoided this accident to become something worse. I will skip your punishment tomorrow.' Amanda smiled but then frowned : 'But what if he has another nightmare and hurts himself again?'
Kate replied : 'Don't worry dear, he will sleep in our room with us. I'll bring you some chamomille tea to help you sleep'. 'Okay Mom', 'Good Night!',she yawned.
When everyone went to sleep the cub's eyes began to glow with an eerie faint green light that grew in intensity as the cub began to inhale speckles of light. A diamond shaped light began to reflect in the dressing room right next to the foxes' bed as it grew in size. But in the place where the huge wall of light was supposed to be was a faint speckle of blue light. If the foxes were awake they would see a swamp at the other size of the... door(??!!!). A small dragonfly went thru the dimensional portal and landed on the night lamp.
