This poem was written by Amanda. I am only doing minor editing, and posting them with her permission!

Note to those who know how to write poetry: I'm not sure how to work with this enough so that it's accurate, I added a few bits of punctuation in areas I felt needed them. Please correct me via comment or private message if you know it's wrong! Thanks much!

Please also vote, good or bad, and comment why you think that way so I can tell the author what other people think. She cannot improve if she doesn't know what's wrong.

Please enjoy!

========

His strength runs deep,

His paws are swift,

Through the snow he sweeps,

Though his head he must not lift.

Quietly, he prowls the night

Searching for a bite to eat.

Low he moves out of sight,

Quickly his heart beats.

The snow falls gently all around

Not a single noice he makes

He moves low to the ground,

Moving toward the frozen lake.

The icy wind is bitter and cold,

Yet he does not stay still.

Now's his chance, he must be bold

For his prey stands on a hill.

Slowly he creeps through the trees,

The yound deer holds its ground.

He stops where the deer cannot see;

The deer looks around.

He leaps out and starts his chase

The deer tries to run away,

It has become a deadly race;

A race between hunter and prey.

The deer is young and quick,

But he knows the forest by heart

So he uses the terrain to be quick.

He and the deer aren't far apart.

His prey is tired and slows,

His teeth sink into its neck

The deer writhes as its blood flows

Its body is now a mangled wreck.

He rips and shreds at his share,

Then he drags the rest home.

In time, he reaches his lair

He lives in a small snowy dome.

Inside, a mother with pups awaits,

He lays the carcass on hte ground

Then stares at his pups and mate.

Slowly they eat without a sound.

With his little family fed,

And warm inside his keep,

He lays down with them to bed.

And then he falls asleep.
