#4 of The Chronicles of James Travant

Tanya closed the door, leaning against it until she heard him pull away. She sighed, a smile on her face.

"Besides that awkward moment... I think tonight was the best in a long time."

She set out to cleaning up her apartment, the Finch chirping and watching happily, as if the bird knew more about what was going on, than either of the two individuals whom had been together just moments before..

She gave a soft yawn as the sun had set, even though with the clouds made it hard to tell. She brushed her hair and teeth, the Finch leaving for the night and her window being shut behind it. She removed her clothing after pulling the curtains over the window, tossed them into the laundry basket and indulged herself in a long hot shower.

She purred contentedly under the powered rain, palms and fingertips exploring the smooth skin of her own body as her thoughts set adrift to the day behind her. She gently cupped her breasts, a soft moan escaping her lips as her eyes fluttered shut and fingertips brushed over her hardening nipples.

A mischievous smile formed on Tanya's face, her hands slowly, almost reluctantly releasing their grip over her well-proportioned chest, she leaned back against the shower wall, her fingertips again trailing over her body in slow, deliberate strokes.

Her whole body was nearly tingling in anticipation. Her right hand separated from it's path on her body and slowly began to trail lower, the young woman torturing herself with the wait that she knew would make it that much bet-

Tanya gasped, her fingers slinking between her legs to cup her slicked folds. One fingertip tenderly teased her sex, teasing he folds open and tracing down each lip, her whole body shuddered with the pleasure and relaxation of it.

It wasn't much longer until her fingers traced their way upwards, sliding between her folds until they fell over the sensitive flesh of her clit.

Tanya's hips jerked as she pressed into her fingers, shockwaves of pleasure fanning out through her loins as she began to tease her sensitized flesh between her fingertips. Her breath quickly turning from soft moans to pants as her free hand cupped her breast again, tweaking the rock-hard nipple.

"Travis..." She breathed, caught up in her own fantasy, her fingers slipped from her clit and swirled around her tight entrance, with a long drawn out groan of pleasure, she slipped them both in, relishing the welcome feel of her pulsating inner walls embracing them.

"God." She huffed, massaging her inner walls firmly, her hips involuntarily thrusted into her touches. She thrusted into her hand, pulling her fingers a bit deeper until, with a satisfied groan from her, they pressed down over her g-spot and began stroking it even more firmly. Her head lolled back, letting the steaming water course over her features as the coiled spring of pleasure sensations coiled tighter and tighter inside her body untill, with a loud cry, Tanya's dam finally broke, her orgasm exploding from her loins to the tips of her fingers to the fireworks behind her eyes.

Spent, Tanya slowly slid down to sit on the shower floor, her hips convulsing as she slowly drew her fingers from her swollen sex and lifted them to her mouth, lapping the results of her orgasm from them.

Shortly thereafter, satiated and properly cleaned, Tanya stepped from the shower and engulfed herself in an oversized towel. She smiled to herself in the mirror as she dried off before padding off to her warm bed.

The next morning she awoke with a soft grin, pulled the covers off of her and made her bed while still nude, then got another shower before slipping on her clothes for work and heading off before she became late. The day was a beautiful one, the clouds were gone and it was warmer. She went through her usual cycle again, just as bored as she always was between talks with the scientists and making her rounds. She smiled as it neared time to walk home, clocked out and stepped foot outside, saying her farewells as others went for their cars, she didn't mind walking the ten or so blocks home, especially on a nice day like this...

"See you tomorrow Savvy." Jack Raynes called out as Travis punched his code into the time clock. The clock beeped and the officer smiled at his friend, slinging his bag on his shoulder and giving a little wave on his way out the door.

He sidestepped an FCO Kaynine on his way out, nodding his hello, the Kaynine tweaked an ear in assent and they were both on their ways. Travis dropped the bag full of his gear and uniform into the trunk of the cruiser and banged it shut, pulling on his jacket as he slipped into the driver's seat and turned the ignition, making his way home.

It was an uneventful drive, and Travis sighed happily as he pulled into the parking lot of his apartment complex, a few minutes later had him opening the door to his second story room. The bag immediately found itself mingling with the other clutter on his floor as he stripped off his jacket and other clothes for a long shower.

That done, Travis dried off and sighed, pulling on a pair of blue jeans and forgetting the shirt, he entered his kitchen area and pulled a sandwich from the fridge. After tearing open the pack and tossing the plastic, he fell onto his couch, munching happily as he picked up the card with Tanya's number from the table. He considered it as he ate, flipping it over in his free hand for a moment.

"Ah, what could it hurt?" He asked the dead air of his apartment, his free hand reached over and slapped the phone, flipping it off the cradle and into his lap, he dialed the number, dropped the card, collected the handset, and pressed it to his ear, swallowing another bite as the other end began to ring.

Tanya felt her cell ring and vibrate in her front pocket just as she unlocked her front door. She smiled, knowing it could be very few of people she knew and she took it out, flipped it open with a very open and calm, "Evenin'..." She knew immediately who it was as she hadn't gotten her usual earfuls of excitements or boring details of facts she didn't want to know.

Her grin grew, she walked in and closed her door kicking her shoes off, her light jacket and her purse flopped to the floor, despite the fact that she normally put them immediately away.

She laid down on the couch and got comfortable, "How was your day, Travis? Couldn't have been as boring as mine."

She was also wondering what she was going to do about dinner, she was tired and not up for cooking much tonight. She listened to him talk about his day, how it was full of a few patrols, reports and the like. Pretty much what her job sounded like, but she knew and dreaded the day he'd see combat... she didn't want him hurt. He was a nice guy.

"...Yeah, one of my buddies on the Aviation team took up calling me 'Savvy', it'd be funny, and he thinks it's a laugh riot, but I haven't the heart to tell him that his grand nickname has been with me since high school."

He picked himself up off the couch and crossed the room to a closet, pulling it open and rifling through the shirts inside.

"So what about you, sounds like you're bored enough to have some company."

Tanya hummed, "Yeah. Bored is an accurate description... but I'll tell you now I'm not up to cooking much tonight if anything at all. I'd love to have you over to hang out with me though. Maybe even watch some movies, eat popcorn... the idea entertain you any?"

She got up lazily from the couch, turned on the light in her bedroom and made her way into her closet and looking for something to change into from her uniform.

She found something comfortable and casual, a pair of blue jeans and a black tank top. She smiled and started to take off her pants and put on the tight jeans and undid her blouse but didn't put the tank on just yet. "So what time did you want to come over?"

Travis smiled, pulling a button-up shirt from his closet and examining it. "How about an hour? Yeah. See you then."

He hung up and pulled the shirt on, grabbing his wallet up and stepped out...

An hour later found him knocking on her door, she opened it, revealing him standing in a black silk shirt with the sleeves pushed up to his elbows, holding up a bag from one of the nearby restaurants. "Hope you like Chinese?"

Tanya's eyes gleamed, "Oh how much do I owe you, sir. I didn't know I had placed an order for delivery."

She smiled and winked as she let him enter. "I love Chinese food... how did you guess?"

She had already put her tank top on, and her hair freely flowed. Some soft music had sifted through the closed door in her room.

"I'll go turn off my radio and be right back, okay?" She returned moments later, leaving her door open and the lights switched off so only the light of the main room illuminated it softly.

"Do you prefer chopsticks or utensils?" She picked up chopsticks from a holder just inside the kitchen and looked over her shoulder to him.

Travis laughed. "What kind of man would I be if I didn't eat Chinese with chopsticks?"

He set down the bag and began pulling the food containers from it. "So what did you have in mind for a movie?"

Tanya laughed and grabbed another pair of chopstick for her guest. She sat next to him on the floor, placing the chopsticks on his knee, and sorting the trays. "Did you want plates or did you just want to eat out of the containers, if you don't mind sharing them."

She smiled, "I promise I don't have girl cooties or nothing. You can search me on that one..."

She thought a moment and considered how that could have sounded, "Oh god, that sounded bad. But as for the movie, I was going to leave that up to you. I'm up for anything, even a sappy movie, if that's what you really want. And if you choose horror... I'll be in your lap by the end of it."

She laughed, "I only buy really good scary movies, y'know those ones that scare you half to death..."

Travis grinned. "You'll be on my lap huh? Sounds fair to me, Scary movies it is."

He indicated they could eat from the containers and began sorting through them, looking for the chow mein, as she got the movie.

Tanya chuckled, and smacked him in the back of the head with the pillow after putting in a movie, "The Exorcist, sounds good to start off the night while we eat..." She smiled.

"Oh... and the pillow hit was for that comment." She giggled, it gave her something to smile about.

She opened up the box after a bit of searching and picked up a chicken ball covered in cherry sauce and took a bite out of it, some cherry sauce getting on the corner of her lip, to which she put down her chopsticks, wiped it off and sucked it off her fingers. "Good stuff, best chicken balls I've had in a long while, where'd you pick it up?"

Travis settled himself and lifted the box, scooping another few stick fulls of noodles into his mouth as the movie began. Forever a child of horror flicks, even old ones such as this, he had long since began to find humor even in the most terrifying of flicks.

All musings aside, he set down the box and reached for the sesame chicken. "This is from that super buffet down the road a bit. I've eaten there a few times and they've never let me down."

He snagged a piece of chicken with his sticks and popped it in his mouth, munching happily and remaining surprisingly clean for such messy food.

Tanya ate politely but it was obvious she was a bit creeped out, the goosebumps making it fairly clear to even the uneducated. She found it fascinating however, so they weren't pointless to watch, she glanced over to her companion to see him enjoying himself and smiled warmly when she caught his eye.

She turned to the boxes and popped a fried mushroom into her mouth followed by a mouthful of Beef Stir fry, to which she couldn't help but hum how good it was.

She swallowed before opening her mouth to talk, "I'll have to go to them for all my Chinese meals, I rarely eat out, but it tastes much like how I make a lot of my Chinese food. But I have to admit, these mushrooms are better than mine... I can't put my tongue on what they soaked and cooked them in..."

She went back to enjoying the movie; this was one of the movies that didn't scare her as much, so she wasn't clinging to him and such yet. It was more of the grossly thinking movies, the ones that actually could be true according to few superstitions.

Sure, the Exorcist might have occurred, but this movie had a sort of not scary look to her, more interested.

"Oh dammit...almost forgot the best part." Travis suddenly said, digging into the bag, sorting through boxes.

"Ah, here they are." he said, pulling out a box of sweet biscuits. "My favorite..." He laughed.

Tanya smiled and leaned her chest against his shoulder, trying to topple him over to get at the sweet biscuits. "Oh... then I should eat them all myself! Save you none, whatcha think about that?"

She chuckled still clutching effortlessly at the box; she was having fun. The movie caught her eye and saw that it was already three quarters over. She shrugged and retreated off Travis and settled back to eat.

"Heh... sorry, I couldn't resist... it was so perfectly set up and everything." She was trying so hard to not let the rosy glow to her cheeks, but alas they still hinted upon them.

Travis smiled over a mouthful of sweet biscuit, watching her for a few moments before turning his gaze back to the movie.

Some time later, Travis had set aside the sticks for awhile and the movie was coming to an end. He pulled out a pair of fortune cookies from the bag and handed one to her.

"You first, have you any games you play with fortune cookies?"

Tanya smiled shivering as the movie concluded, at his question she looked to him and shook her head. "No, I normally eat alone. So I've got no games for us to play with the fortune cookies, you got any?"

She was interested in him, he was fun, took things lightly, and he seemed to have the right suggestions to keep things from stagnating their evening together. Even if it was just between friends. "Any personal favorite you want to watch, I've got a lot of movies..."

Travis laughed. "The only game I have for fortune cookies is the 'in bed' game." He smiled as he unwrapped his cookie. "How about Silent Hill? Been a while since I've seen that one, however old it may be."

Tanya laughed, "The 'In bed' game? I've heard about that one, isn't that where you tack on 'in bed' after the fortune?" She shook her head, "What an interesting game, I hope I don't get one that's bad..."

She looked towards her movie shelf, "Yeah, I got that movie... creeps me out. I too haven't watched it in a while." She put down her cookie, unopened and put the movie in after taking the Exorcist out and placing it back in its holding case.

She sat back down beside him and opened her cookie, looking at the fortune... her face paled into a pinkish white. "Uh... you first..."

Travis chuckled as the opening scenes appeared on the television screen, cracking open his cookie and munching one half as he plucked out the slip of paper and unfolded it, after a moment, he swallowed and read out loud;

"You will find something you've been waiting for...in bed." He laughed. "Guess they didn't feel like being cryptic tonight."

Tanya smiled, "I guess that goes for both of our "in bed fortunes" She shook her head and sighed.

"Well here it is... 'We ain't wrong, we ain't sorry, and it's probably gonna happen again... in bed.' I guess it's not something completely irrational, pretty funny actually."

She looked at the movie as it started to play the main feature. "I'll warn you now, this movie is one of the scariest for me at parts. Prepare to have a girl on your arm at random intervals... I ain't the calmest or most collected person with this movie, you'd think you'd get used to it after a while..."

"Sounds fine to me, to be honest there are parts in this movie that even scare me." He gave a small laugh and swallowed down the rest of his cookie.

"Call it what you will, Silent Hill was one of the few movies ever to scare me."

He picked up his drink and took another sip, eyes turning to the screen.

Tanya gave a small sigh, "Thanks, now that I ain't the only one to get scared from this movie... I guess I feel a bit less foolish."

She leaned back on her hands and watched the movie. She didn't seem afraid at first, except for when it was something suddenly scary... but she had visible goosebumps along her arms.

She started closing the boxes of food, not taking her eyes off the screen, then smiled and whispered, "I'll put them in a bag for you to have them to take home... but later..." The movie was about a quarter in, then half over before she actually had scooted closer to Travis in attempt to remind herself that he was there and it wasn't real.

Travis cringed at an especially bloody part, taking another swallow of his soda.

"Guess it's good that we're finished eating." He whispered, casting a smiling glance to her.

She smiled and nodded. "Definitely, but at the same time, I am fascinated with gore... I know, I'm odd."

She looked to the TV at a particularly disturbing scene, spilling her drink down her chest.

Her face was clearly unimpressed and somewhat of a growl escaped her, looking down at her soaked chest. "Ha, such a clutz..." She shook her head, pausing Silent Hill and stood up, "I'll be back... I'm going to change my shirt, get this sticky soda off my chest..." Ruffling his head playfully she left to her bedroom to grab a new shirt then proceeded to the bathroom.

Not a mere two minutes later she came out wearing a dark violet silk blouse and gave him a hug around his shoulders before sitting down and resuming the movie. "Sorry... I hope you weren't too bored..."

Travis smiled at the hug, taking another sip.

"Don't worry about it, gives me a chance to calm down a bit, this movie is freaky, although the director was a pretty creative individual. I know I couldn't have thought up a death like that."

He set his drink down and pulled the loose sleeves of his shirt up to his elbows where they had slipped from in the course of the evening.

Tanya smiled, "Yeah... I guess my flip out with the soda wasn't a too bad of thing after all."

She had sat down closer to him as to before she left and watched him push up his sleeves, with a small smile.

"Thanks for coming over, I really enjoy being around you." She was turned toward the movie, but her eyes were not on the screen but down on the table, a faint blush trying to be hidden.

After a moment, she tried to focus her eyes on the screen again, mentally cursing herself with the thought that her comment sounded rather like a come-on.

Travis shook his head.

"It's really nothing, the least I could do, and if I said I wasn't enjoying your company either, well, I'd be lying."

With the last words he turned his eyes to her and smiled, reaching out and placing a finger under her chin to playfully shift her focus back to the TV.

Tanya tensed up very slightly to his touch; it nearly sent a shiver of surprise through her, he was so gentle. "It's... a scary part, don't make me watch." She turned swiftly and hid her vision into his shoulder with a slight chuckle.

It was the truth, it was one more of the particularly frightening and gruesome parts of the movie, she also did it to hide her smile and blush that followed. She leaned into him and sighed, she had to admit, he smelt quite nice...

Travis chuckled and brought his arm up again, wrapping it around the back of her neck and tucking her into him to hide her vision, although he couldn't block the sounds of tearing flesh and such.

"I heard that Gypsy prophesy of the tearin' flesh and the mother's cry and the crimson flow of blood that would run forever..." He sang softly, despite the morbid moment.

Tanya smiled shifting closer so that his arm was around her shoulders in a bit of a half hug, "You have watched this one too many times." She laughed, and settled in with a shiver gazing back at the screen and shivered.

"It's kind of funny, I can see gore and cause it with no trouble, but scary movies with gore they get me every time, why the hell is that?" She looked up to his eyes with a puzzling look. "Care to take a stab at that one?"

"It's the movie director doing his job." Travis spoke softly, settling back into a more comfortable position, his arm still around her but held loosely, ready to release her as soon as she moved away.

"Call it show business." He finished, the movie would be coming to a close soon.

Tanya smirked and nodded against his shoulder to which she had her arms around his chest cuddled close to him in the fear the movie had enthralled in her senses.

She didn't stop watching however, most females if scared by a movie would bury their heads into their companion until the movie was over, but she was enjoying herself in some dark way. She didn't speak until the movie credits had begun and she shivered as she sat up proper and looked to him. "Thanks for not freaking out with me so close. Sorry..."

She rubbed the back of her neck closely. "I warned you." She smirked and looked at the clock, it was midnight.

"Time sure flies. I'll start packing your leftover Chinese for you to take home with you? We both must work in the morning and you don't want to be tired for work... that would be bad." She ruffled his hair again, starting to organize the food containers.

"Sounds great." He replied, helping her organize them and pack them away.

A few moments later saw him at her door, bag slung loosely over his back as she opened it up and he stepped out onto her front step.

"Thanks for having me over." He said as he turned to her. "I had a great time, see you when I see you, aye?"

He clicked his car remote and the cruiser chirped, lights blinking once to indicate the locks opening.

Tanya smiled as she saw him leave; she closed her door as he got into his cruiser and sighed. "Well that was certainly a fun evening, even though those movies did creep me out." She wiped the table and got herself a glass of water before heading to bed...
