Path of a Legend Chapter 6
It was morning when a knock came to the Torrent's door. "One moment." A maid said as she headed for the door. When she opened it, she was greeted by two palace guards. "Is the master of the house at home?"
"He is? Who may I tell him is asking?" Just the two dragons strode up behind the guard, one male and the other female. "We are kin to one named Stargazer." The maid gasped in shock as she beheld the High king and the Queen of the Dragon Nation. "Naidia, who is at the door?" Storm asked. "It's young master's relative's ma'am." Storm was awe struck. "Well don't just stand there gawking, let them in." The maid had opened the door further, allowing the two guards as well as Avyion and Angora to enter. "We are honored by you visit your highnesses. If we knew you were coming we would have made the place more to your liking."
The white dragon raised a claw. "It was our fault; we had wished to surprise our cousin with a visit. Is he here?" Storm's ears drooped. "Well you see sire it..."
"A before you continue might we sit first. I am sure your husband would like to know that we are here as well." Storm nodded as the maid lead them through the house and into the den while Storm went to fetch Rain. Tide at this time was out in the village working her job at the bakery.
It was not long however before the two older eons entered the den. "Sorry for the rudeness my lord but you caught us off guard." Rain said fixing himself. "Please there is no need to stand on such formalities. We had just asked your wife if young Stargazer were around." Rain and Storm sat into a couch opposite the two dragons and took a deep breath. "Well my lord, no he is not here. He is on the other side of town at the doctors."
"He's not sick is he?" Angora asked. Storm shook her head. "No you majesty. You see a very close friend of his, well that is to say."
"His beloved." Avyion said to which Storm nodded. "Yes she is the owner of the local bar here and a childhood friend of Star's. She had gone into the forest to pick wild mushrooms when she was attacked. They beat and raped the poor girl. Were it not for a few hunters she might have died out there."
"I see. This is very unfortunate." The male dragon leaned forward, resting his arms across his legs. "Will she recover?" The female dragon asked. "It will take some time but they did say that she will live though mentally I cannot say."
"It is unfortunate that someone when someone you love is injured. It wrenches at your heart like nothing else." Angora said. Just then a maid entered the room. My lord and lady's, Master Stargazer has return but, he was covered in blood. I believe something might have happened during the night."
"Where is he now Aisha?" Storm asked. "Upstairs ma'am cleaning himself off. His eyes looked so cold and empty." Rain sighed deeply. "When he comes down tell him we wish to see him." The maid nodded before departing.
It was sometime later when Star had finally come down and walked into the den. He was greeted by not only Rain and Storm but by Avyion and Angora as well. "Salutations dear cousin, I hope your bath was a pleasant one?" Angora asked. "As pleasant as to be expected your highness."
"We are sorry to hear about you beloved Stargazer." Avyion said. "Why? You don't know her nor is she of royal blood." Star spoke with a cocky tone.
"Star!" Rain shouted. "Watch your tongue when speaking to them." Avyion raised a claw to Rain. "It's quite alright Rain. I can understand his pain, still I do care young Star because she is one of my people as are you and her being your beloved makes me even more concerned. We are family Stargazer, whether you would like it or not, you are one of us and will forever be so." Star sighed deeply and sat beside Rain. "So are you willing to tell us why you were covered in blood?" Avyion asked.
"I did a little night hunting that's all." He replied. "I doubt that there are many beasts in these woods that would produce that much blood unless you ripped them apart. Judging by you character I don't think that is the case. Come on boy, you can tell us."
Star sighed once more, hanging his head. "I went after the ones who hurt Kat. I followed their tracks till I came to their camp. I picked them off one by one. It was so easy it was as if they were begging for me to kill them." Storm had covered her mouth upon hearing of his actions last night. "Did you leave any alive?" Angora asked, Star just shook his head. "But they deserved it. They had been plaguing the north road for months. You could not walk ten feet without feeling like someone was watching you. I'm glad I killed them, they deserved their fate."
"Many people deserve many things Star. Most that get death deserve life and most that have life deserve death. Are you capable of giving it to them? Do you have the knowledge to determine what fate is suitable for them?" Star shook his head. "Fate is a fickle thing cousin. Only after you have seen the results of such a thing can you truly understand the path you have chosen. Nothing will be said about last night's activities not just because we are family but because you have made possible to use a road long controlled by those cut throats, for this I thank you." Star nodded. "However, in light of these events I would like to know young Star if you and your love would care to join us at the spring festival as our guests. Of course by then I hope that Kathlyn is it?" Star nodded. "That Kathlyn is able to move about by then."
Star sighed once more. "Star perhaps you can answer me one thing. When you first entered the room I felt an ominous presence with you, what is it?" Star was shocked. They were able to feel Shelia, he had not even told Rain or Storm about here yet the dragons seemed to pick on her right away. "Uh well you see..." She sighed deeply. "Shall I show myself Star?" The voice rang in his head, to which he promptly nodded. From the crystal around his neck a black matter came out and leapt to the floor beside Star. The dark material grew and morphed, taking the shape of a rather shapely black furred vixen. Her black fur covered most of her body aside from her muzzle down the front of her body which was white. She wore black leather armor and skirt. Swords were strapped to either side of her hips. Her ice blue eyes would pierce even the strongest of men right to the bone. "This is Shelia. She is my familiar." The vixen took a seat beside Star and leaned against him. "I am a Malice to be precise. Master Star accidentally summoned me into your world. I could not survive hear so he agreed to bind himself to me in order for me to live."
"A Malice? I have heard of your kind. Your spirits that feed on negative energies and each one is aligned to a certain one correct?" Shelia nodded. "I am the Malice of Wrath. Though my kin wish for destruction and chaos. I do not. I did though at one point but since being in this world I have since lost my thirst for death. Now all I care about it making sure Star is safe and happy." Shelia replied.
"That's quite a turn around for a creature such as yourself." Shelia nodded and nuzzled into Star's cheek. "I owe him my very existence. It's not something I accepted at first but over time I have grown accustomed to it."
` Avyion rose to his feet and soon stretched. "Well I enjoyed this little visit. We shall have to do it again sometime." Star, Rain and Storm all nodded as the two dragons began to leave. Angora however turned to Star and leaned into his ear and whispered something to him that made his cheeks red then she left. Shaking his head, Star went up to his room and closed the door. Sheila followed suit but having no need for a door; she phased through and saw the winged umbreon on his bed. "Star what is it? You seem so down hearted all of a sudden."
"Wouldn't you be if the one you loved was raped and beaten then left for dead?" He replied. "Thankfully I have not had to experience that now did I? I know how you feel about her and I know you love her but things happen." Shelia sat beside him and ran her paw through his hair. "It's not right. Why is it that I have to endure this? I can't be happy for once in my life?" The dark vixen placed a gentle paw to his cheek which moved under his chin to lift his gaze to her. "You have to hold on. If you truly love this woman then you should do everything you can for her. Killing those bandits though noble I don't think she would have approved of. By the way what did the queen say to you to make you fidget in such a way?"
Star then remembered her words and blushed once more. "She said that Kat was lucky to have me and were it not for her, she would try her luck with me." Shelia giggled. "Seems your charms are getting the better of you. Now you even have family wanting that cock of yours."
Star sighed deeply. "It's not like its intentional. Still she asked if I visit tomorrow, I don't know if I should with Kat in the state she is in."
"If you are that concerned, you can always leave my crystal with her and I could watch her for you until your return." Star nodded to her. If there was one thing he could always count on it was that Shelia was true to her word. Star sighed deeply and laid back on his bed, Sheila promptly laid on top of him. "When was the last time we had sex hmm?" She asked.
"The other week, before all of this began. Back then I didn't have much of a care now all of a sudden the shit storm is hitting me all at once." She lightly ran her fingers through his hair and laid her head on his chest. "I'm sorry this happened to you master. I know how much you love her and I know it pains you to se her in the state she is in but atleast she will recover, that in itself is a good thing."
"I know." He sighs deeply. "I know."
