Friday Evening.
Voxanna and the taurs entered the restaurant and approached the counter, where a canine morph was standing, writing in a large book. When shi saw the group approach, shi smiled and greeted them.
"Evening, my name is Fido, yes, I know, so cliché, but that's my parents for ya. Welcome, names please?" shi asked.
"Voxanna." The pregnant herm replied, also smiling.
<Illumanati> the foxtaur replied, <Party of four> shi added.
Fido looked at the book and nodded, then shi clicked towards a tiger morph waiter, who quickly dashed over and asked the 4 too follow hir to a table with roses and a single chair.
As soon as they were settled, the tiger morph spoke. "Evening, my name is Aleksandra Ermakova, but you may call me Sasha for short, now, may I take your order?" asked the tiger morph, with a slight Russian accent.
"Certainly, I'll have the large rib steak, medium done with an order of chips and sweet chilli sauce, as well as the salad side serving with ice-cream and BBQ sauce and tuna with vegemite on toast."
"Yuk!" Stephillum replied, pulling a face.
"What? I've got a craving for ice-cream with BBQ sauce." Shi replied, poking hir tongue out.
"Ok, eating for two I take it?" Sasha asked, smiling at the vixen.
Voxanna just giggled and rubbed hir tummy gently.
"Yes, pregnancy does strange things to your appetite." Shi said, as hir stomach growled again, making Solarblaze growl as well. Shi was certain that monster was stalking hir.
Sasha giggled at the cubs' antics, then shi turned towards the adult foxtaur.
"And what about you ma'am?" shi asked.
<2 large roast chickens, pasta salad, roast potatoes with bacon stripes. And for desert, 2 fried ice-cream with apple crumble and cream.> Illumanati ordered, making the waitress jump from hear hir voice in hir head.
"Woah, that was weird, do you do that often?" shi asked.
<Yes, I'm sorry. That is how I communicate. No vocal cords.> shi explained.
Sasha nodded then turn towards the red foxtaur kit.
"And what would you like sweetie?" shi asked, smiling.
<Oh... I'm sorry, my order is for both of us.> Nati replied, blushing with embarrassment.
"I understand, figured you couldn't eat all that by yourself." Sasha surmised.
<Well, actually, one and a half chicken is for me, the other half is for my daughter. Teleporting creates a ferocious appetite.> Nati replied, as hir stomach also growled, much louder than Voxanna's.
Solarblaze was now very defensive after hearing a much louder monster, shi started stalking around the table, tail bristled out and growling, searching for the thing that was hunting hir.
Both Voxanna and Nati laughed, making the cub look at them with a curious glance before proceeding with hir search. Shi was not going to let this monster catch hir unprepared. Eventually, Solarblaze gave up looking for the beasty when hir tummy rumbled and shi snuggled up to Illumanati for food. Nati just smiled and handed the cub a chicken leg, which shi happily chewed and slurped on.
When Voxanna's meal was served, shi dug right into it with gusto. Stephillum took the chicken pieces shi was offered and joined hir sister. Both siblings made a lot of noise as they ate their portion.
<So Voxanna, what are your plans for the evening?> the herm foxtaur asked, having a sip of ice chocolate.
Voxanna swallowed what was in hir muzzle before replying.
"I don't know, go to bed I think. It's been a hectic day, and I'm emotionally drained. Why? Do you have a suggestion?" shi asked, a slight twinkle in hir eye.
<Well, maybe you would like to join me tonight, for some companionship, if you don't mind that is?> Nati murred, softly rubbing the pregnant morphs shoulders.
Voxanna leaned into the caress, also murring, as hir tail wagged slowly. Reaching up, shi rubbed the nurse's cheek.
"I would love to... I feel like I need something, and you are so kind and caring. And, might I say, very attractive."
<Thank you hun, after desert, I'll put the cubs to bed and then will join you in your room. Don't really need to disturb the little ones, eh?> Nati added, giving a wink.
Voxanna blushed and giggled, just like shi use to do when shi was a teenager, like how Daniel use to make hir giggle. Remembering him almost made hir feel guilty for lusting after another. But Illumanati was kind and generous, and by the makers, shi needed to be held, and touched and loved. Damn It, shi needed to Get Off!
Desert came, and Voxanna practically drooled. Then shi noticed a sudden shift in the air, a tension from the other customers and staff. Looking up, shi located the source of the mood swing, and saw all eyes were gazing at a lone chakat who had entered the room. Illumanati also was looking at the new arrival. Soft mutterings were coming from some of the patrons, and Voxanna could tell that they were hostile or full of disgust.
"Who is that?" Voxanna asked Sasha, when shi walked over to their table to retrieve the dinner plates. Sasha looked at the white furred chakat with yellow markings and quietly growled.
"That is Twinkie, I suggest you stay away from IT!" shi said, walking briskly back to the kitchen.
"It?" Voxanna mused, noticing a dark furred wolf morph joining the chakat. They both nuzzled kissed and then sat at a table, away from the other patrons. Sasha reluctantly walked over to take their order, and from hir body language, Voxanna could tell that the herm tiger morph wished that shi was somewhere else.
Finally, shi left to fulfil the order. Voxanna stared at the chakat with interest.
<...earth to Voxy? Are you there Vox?> Nati replied, snapping hir fingers to get the fox morph's attention.
"Sorry, was just wondering about the new arrival, and why I sense hostility from the other patrons. I thought chakats were well accepted around here?"
<They are hun, although, it seems like this one is an exception> Illumanati replied, also watching the chakat and hir companion, and saw that shi was looking at both Voxanna and hirself. Shi smiled meekly, and returned to hir meal.
Soon Twinkie and the wolf morph was joined by Francine, they chatted for awhile, before the rabbit morph joined Voxanna and Nati and the cubs.
"So, how are you both settling in?" shi asked, giving Voxanna a hug, petting the belly.
"Fine, and the meal is delicious. Umm Franny, what's the story with Twinkie? Why is there malice and hostility towards hir?"
Francine gave a deep sigh, then pulled up a seat to sit next to them.
"I guess I'd better tell you, in case you hear it from someone else. Someone without the full knowledge." Francine took a glass of water and had a sip, before shi told the tale.
"Twinkie's history is very tragic, and very, difficult. And please, before passing judgement on hir for hir past deeds, remember that shi chose hir life here. Twinkie use to be a human."
Voxanna and Illumanati both gasped, and Stephillum's ears perked up at this bit of news.
"What? How? Why?" Voxanna asked, now very interested.
"Hir real name was Michael Sheppard..."
Voxanna once again gasped, but it was in relation to the name, as shi recalled hearing about a Pastor Gabriel Sheppard, who was responsible for the slaughter of an entire wolftaur family in the blue mountains.
Illumanati murred and tried to comfort the distressed herm morph, who was trying to contain hir emotions, but it was becoming too much. Hyperventilating, shi became lightheaded and short of breath, then the room spin and shi blacked out...
