The faint sound of hydrulics rushing through titanium lined piping could be heard from within the decontamination chamber, giving a warning that the vault leading to the lab was about to unhatch.

"Makes you Cringe, dosn't it?" Smith venomously remarked. "As much as a big door should scare a bloke, I suppose" Dutch retaliated dryly. The process of decontamenation took roughly 5 minutes, even if you were clean as a whistle, the system would just keep scanning and re-scanning you to make sure nothing but what authorized to enter, was allowed in the lab.

"Subjects cleansed, please proced through the now open chamber" the feminen sounding computer said through a non-visable speaker." The five moved foward to the only 300 Square foot room. Once in the main part of the lab, it was no shock to the team how advance this place was, Everything was holographic with an irrdesant blue glow immeting from almost all of the machines. And a wall lined with breeding pods, for the final stage for the creation of the hybrid.

"Well, lets get started, these toys may be high end, but they don't know what to do." Clarke said as he clapped his hands in satisfaction. Leo moved to a raised platform near a corner of the room, which looked like a crows nest for some alien race. Clarke and smith moved to a set of terminals to prime all of the pre-processed thoughts that the creature would have at creation, as well as determining it's maturing rate. Making sure it reached 20 years of age physicly, over only the course of 6 months, which was nothing but pocket change considering the projections of the being was to be roughly 400 years old before it's cells break down. So there was no time to loose.

Huntley and Dutch defintly had a more interesting job for the time being, they were to splice the DNA of solaris, with a modified human stem cell, a few hundread times.

"All stations ready for operations gentelmen, ready when you are" leo claimed as his fingers smoothly drifted over the touch-sensitive pannal of the console. A couple of them nodded in repliance, the others just got on with their assignments.

6 hours later Dr. Smith and professor Clarke got up from their stations reporting that the main and secondary build on the hybrids genetics were complete to Dr. Ryan via the com system. "exellent, great work gentelmen; Huntley, Dutch, how are you coming along?" questioned Mr. Ryan. Taking a moment to stretch, Dutch replied "just about done, we finished re-coding the first batch of cells and are waiting for the pre-breeder to scan and complete the splicing of the remaining cells." Sounding relived, Dr. Ryan answered "Outstanding, well I belive it's safe to say that the hardest part is over, now we can only move forward. Godspeed and good luck everyone." There was a chim indecating the call was ended as Dr. Smith finally spoke after this time "Clarke, get the genetic data into the vile, I won't last one more hour in this cursed seat. It's truly outstanding, how humans can do this, but not make a decent lab chair" he mumbled.

"I'll be right on it, get the cells fuised so we won't have to wait." Clarke spoke to Smith as he inserted a marker-sized pice of plexiglass equptment into his console and entered a series of commands. The machine gave a faint buzz, then sounded like it was venting heat as the vile filled with a green, curious looking fluid, the creatures pre-programmed memorys and grow rate information. With extreme caution, Clarke unlatched the vile from the device and placed it carefully on the magni-cart and sent it to Smiths station, watching it the intire way.
