#3 of Digimon: The Outer Reaches

Mia sighed as she felt the warm water strike her skin, washing away all the fruits of her efforts. Yesterday had been so chaotic... first contact... attack... and sex with a certain lizard that she couldn't get enough of. Today would be different. As they; Scarr and herself, had laid together in a bed, in the quarters that were officially a temporary place for him while his ship received repairs, they had figured out a loose schedule. First and foremost was food. Neither of them had bothered eating at all since they had met. Second, he would explore her aptitude as a warrior. Finally, if his ship was in a ready condition, he would teach her how to pilot a small vessel. She looked forwards to being alone with him, in his Warbird, no interruptions whatsoever... She felt a warm feeling in her gut and smiled. She had been told that she was pregnant. Already! She had no idea of what to expect... what would it look like? Boy or girl? What about a name? She giggled, sweeping her mind clear, cutting the flow to the shower. Today would be far more fun than the day before, she was sure.

"Careful with that!"

"I am being careful!"

"Not careful enough! Touch the wrong component and we'll be taking you away in pieces!" Scarr fumed angrily as he elbowed the human out the way. This is what they called 'repairing'? All they had done was dismantle half his systems! He had no trouble picking up the fission reactor and slotting it back into the specially designed shock absorber "The next time I see anyone trying to reverse engineer my ship, I'm setting the self destruct!" He had to concede now, humans were selfish!

"Alright, alright! Geez!"

He hissed at the male human to speed him away "Damn space monkeys..." The panel of armour plating was next to be replaced, his muscles having no trouble lifting the two tonnes of solid metal into it's rightful place. He didn't need a tool to secure it, just some deft work with his fingers. When it was satisfactorily attached to the hull, he looked over his left forward cannon. It was totally dismantled! He growled, kneeling by it to assess it for damage. There was a single component missing. He felt rage for all of the five seconds it took him to locate it, the magnetic coil having rolled under his ship. He turned back to the empty weapon mount, beginning to slide all the pieces back into their places.

"Scarr?"

He jumped, recognising Mia's voice "Hi, Goddess." He said, grinning up at her cute face "What are you up to?"

"Nothing other than getting you to eat something." She giggled, tugging on his arm "This can wait you know."

"Yeah, I guess it can..." He stood up, eyeing the engineers still hovering around. He raised his voice a little to be heard "Right, grease monkeys, I'm being pulled off! I'm also setting the point defence on my ship to open fire at anyone that touches any of the undamaged systems, so don't poke around!"

"Oh, wow, you just made me wet..."

He grinned. He could smell that already "Oh really?" He didn't need to tell his Warbird's computer what to do, it had heard him as he spoke to the humans "I believe you know the way to a food dispenser?" She looked up at him fondly as she lead him from the bay, the airlock opening and closing extremely easily for him. After they had traversed nearly half the way to the canteen he spoke again, unable to keep himself from worrying "Are you feeling alright, Mia?"

"I'm a little sore from our... 'fun', but it's not bad." She giggled.

He sighed a little, watching her walk. It wasn't apparent unless you looked closely; she was walking with a very odd limp, keeping her thighs from rubbing "I can carry you if you want me too."

"I'd like that..."

Scarr grinned, bending down to sweep her off her feet. She squeaked as he did, wiggling until he pulled her close to his chest. She calmed with a sheepish giggle and threw both arms around his neck "Don't try to fool me, you'd do anything to get me to hold you."

"Yeah, maybe... Oh, the canteen, we just passed it."

He laughed, licking her vaguely coppery skin "We need to pay attention more, huh?" He loved the sound of her giggle, he thought as he heard it again. He was smug as he turned around, he had blipped as he had picked her up, and she was none the wiser. It saved them a walk, certainly "I hope there's meat..." He chuckled, putting her down.

"Oh, you're not going to carry me in...?" She resumed walking, pouting.

"Stop being cute, Mia... Only your father and 'Doc' know about us. I'd prefer it if no one else knew."

"Why?" A difficult question, surely...

"Because two human, even with weapons, are no obstacle. But the entire crew? That could be a problem..."

"Oh..."

"... and it's more thrilling if it's secret..." He whispered, leaning close to brush his snout across her little squishy nose.

She smirked "I think I can go along with that..."

Mia yawned as she held the two trays. What she would give to speed up this damn queue... The person in front of her moved, and she took their place. Her eyes wandered as she let all the noise, movement and smells fill her mind. Such ordered chaos was fascinating to her; people walking around at random, but with a purpose, a motive. She smiled unconsciously as her hubby came into sight. He was sitting alone for the moment, the crew keeping a cautious distance from him. There were children on board as well; being too young to understand the irrational need to be afraid of the unknown, they were openly gawking. She giggled as he looked directly at them, and they looked back with nothing but curiosity as he grinned, his carnivorous teeth just visible. It was too bad that adults couldn't be like that...

"Hey, Mia. You hungry or what?"

She grinned and took the last three or four paces to the serving window "Why else would I come in here with all you dirty men?"

"Haha, give the comedy a rest. I've done beef mince today." The fat chief said, his big red face smiling.

She smiled back. This man, David, was a rather special friend to her. A year or two ago, he had admitted something to her that would have sent any other girl running for help; he was a paedophile. Although Mia had openly offered to have sex with him, he had declined, being afraid of discovery; it wasn't that he was attractive, but he had a soft nature she found adorable "That sounds nice. Our 'guest' said that he prefers his meat raw though."

"I see. Coming right up, cutie."

She giggled; being called that had always made her feel good. Checking to be sure that no one could hear her, she whispered "I finally lost my virginity yesterday, David..."

He didn't skip a beat as he passed a bowl of delicious looking fried mince with a distinctly fruity sauce. He whispered back "That's great! Who'd you 'do it' with?"

"You need to promise not to tell anyone..."

Another bowl chinked against it's brothers "Who can I tell without giving my little secret away?"

"Good point..." She took the next bowl, this time with just the raw meat and some seasoning "You just gave me his food, David."

David jumped, almost dropping the fresh stack of bowls he had just retrieved from the washer out of sight on his left "Are you serious!?"

"Mia, leave the poor guy alone!"

She knew that voice. Not bothering to turn around, she rolled her eyes "Why... are you jealous, baka?" She grinned as the speaker, an asshole in her opinion, got laughed down by his dubious friends.

"I am never jealous over sluts..."

Mia barely heard that mutter, and just let it slide. She winked at David "I'll see if I can hack up a security video of us going at it for you."

He recovered his composure and smiled sheepishly "Thanks, Mia... you're one special kid..."

"Special or just plain warped?"

"Haha, special in my eyes. How'd your dad take it though? Assuming he found out of course..."

"Oh, he knows... and he's positively furious. But he can't do anything about it. Also..." She giggled, a sliver of pride creeping over her "I'm pregnant..." This time, there was a loud crash as he gave an almighty start, sending the bowls to the floor with an express ticket to Shattered-ville "See ya later, David!" She giggled again as she departed to Scarr, leaving the rounded chief with a shocked expression; his eyes as wide as the food receptacles he worked with.

"What did you do to him...?"

She smiled innocently, sitting opposite Scarr "I just teased him a little..." Mia slid his food to him across the table.

He eyed it hungrily "I don't buy it."

She giggled, stripping her fork from it's embedded position on her bowl "Awww, don't you trust me?"

He grinned "Trust you?"

They laughed, before beginning to eat.

Scarr laughed as the young girl squirmed beneath him, his hands pinning her shoulders to the floor while his tail held her legs together "Easy, Mia; you need to learn to stop fighting when you've lost."

"Ohh..." She stopped straining against him, sighing "How am I supposed to win in you won't give me a chance?"

"Will a real opponent give you a chance?"

"... No."

"Then neither will I. Shall we try again?"

"You just want to kick my ass again, don't you?"

He grinned "What? And risk bruising something so sexy?"

She giggled and kissed him "You can't fool me, lizard man, you just like beating up little kids!"

"Shh, not so loud!" He nuzzled her cheek, smiling as they continued the absurd role play.

"Have at thee, demon!" She rolled, only just managing to get them both onto their sides, and grabbed his muzzle, his nasal openings getting treated to a probing.

"Aah, no, have mercy!" He laughed, tickling her stomach with his tail.

She squealed, trying to escape by writhing backwards. The effort yielded nothing, her body trembling as she gave an escape to her ticklishness. He slowly changed the energetic flicking to a sensual rub, watching her pretty face as she calmed down "Mmm... okay, you win..."

He licked her chin "Good. I like winning." There were eyes on them both as he looked up from her to the engineers that should have been working on his ship "What?" He said to the half dozen humans.

They hurried back to what they should've been doing as he helped his girl to her feet "Hehe, we can't keep our little pairing secret if we get carried away like that..."

True... he would have to watch how he acted, he thought, getting to his feet "Probably. Shall we have a rematch?"

"Even though you'll thrash me again... Yeah!"

"Okay..." He took three steps back, dropping down into a defensive crouch "Remember to watch out for my tail this time."

"Oh, I will..." She grinned, starting to run at him.

She was making the exact same mistake, he thought as he hunkered down further. She tried to grab his arms, and got them, but he pushed his upper torso under her, standing up to flip her over his back. Before he could turn, he felt hands grab his left leg. His eyes widened, his turn already under way. He lashed his tail, but it was met. With his tail caught under her arm, and the inertia from his turn, he lost his balance, falling flat on his face "Shit!"

She giggled from her sitting position on his back, tugging on his arms playfully "Looks like I win, eh?"

"Ow... yeah..." How had she managed to do that? "That was a good move you pulled; I didn't see it coming." Then something occurred to him; he hadn't held back with his tail. Yet... she was okay... "Are you feeling alright?"

"Yeah." She got off him.

"... Mia, can I see your right arm?"

"Uh... okay..."

He rolled and sat up. Her expression was still confident, but he could tell that she wasn't feeling sure. He pulled her arm to him. She gave no resistance as he began feeling carefully. It was perfectly normal... he blinked, and ran his hand back over an odd lump that circled around her entire limb. He carefully made a slight cut with his claws. It didn't bleed "Ah, a prosthetic arm?"

"Y-Yeah..."

He let go of her arm, keeping silent for a moment "... How did you lose your real arm?"

"It was an accident... I got my arm torn off when an emergency bulkhead closed on me..." She held the fake close to her body "I had tripped a low air pressure alarm for a prank..."

He stood up, touching her shoulder "How old were you?"

"Eight."

Scarr's eyes blinked of their own accord "That's terrible..." He took her realistic right arm with both hands "But that can work to your advantage..."

"Oh, I know... and it does..." Mia grinned without her usual happiness "But I'd trade it for my flesh and blood arm any day."

"I understand..." He studied it, carefully feeling out what lay beneath the amazingly real skin as an idea slowly occurred to him "Tell me... can it be removed?"

She blinked "Yeah. Why?"

"No reason..." He said, smiling devilishly "Just curious."

Mia watched Scarr as he worked on his ship. He had found out about her arm... Would he think less of her? Did it make her any less attractive to him? The thoughts circled "Scarr?"

"Hmm?" He cocked his head to indicated that he was listening as he kept reassembling one of his ship's devices.

"... What do you think of... my arm?"

"I think a lot of things..." She felt her gut tighten "What I'm thinking of most, is that I like strong females... you've lost your arm, but you haven't let that slow you down at all. I believe that makes you strong, succri-tiam."

She smiled, relieved. She had been worrying for nothing after all "Thanks... Will your Warbird be ready soon?"

"Yes. All I need to do is fix this damn shield matrix..." He said, tapping his claws on the metal casing irritably. He pushed a cable from his craft into a socket on the side. A low humming filled the air and a vague bubble formed, both herself and Scarr under it's five meter radius "Ah, got it."

She prodded the inside of the projected shell. It was liquid to the touch, the surface of it rippling a light red. She pulled her hand back, looking at him "Need a hand putting it where it needs to go?"

He grinned "Can that arm of yours lift three and a half tonnes?"

She giggled slightly "It can... but it's got limiters to prevent me hurting anyone..."

"Makes sense..." He stood, the cable pulled out.

The shield expanded outwards, glowing white as the energy escaped it's confines. She smiled "That was something to see..."

"It is." Metal clanked against metal from where he had disappeared onto the top of the snake-like ship "Why don't you get inside? I'll be with you in a moment."

"Okay." She stretched her arms as she walked to the open hatch. With a few seconds of scrambling, she managed to get in. The interior was exactly as it had been when Scarr had brought her in there. She remembered their love making session and giggled "Ohh, I hope we do it again, soon..."

There was a heavy thud from above "New component detected; X S Energy Shell."

She jumped "Who said that?"

"Navigation and Systems computer; fourth generation."

It took a moment for her to process that. She laughed "Scarr, your computer scared me!"

His head appeared in the hatch opening "Yeah, it has a weird sense of humour." His body soon followed, flowing into the cabin with practiced ease "Well, shall we?" He grinned.

"Of course." She grinned back, heading into the cockpit. It was comprised of a seat, and a two piece control panel. To the left were various readouts, the right holding nothing but a smooth surface, touch sensitive spots glowing dimly. She sat down, looking at the glass of the window "Isn't it a bad idea to have a window? I mean... what if it gets hit?"

He just laughed "That isn't glass. It's a transparent metal."

"Wow..."

"When you're quite done catching flies..." She shut her mouth, giggling "You only need to worry about any of these if you're flying through very crowded space, or when you're docking."

She looked over the mass of readings "I don't think I want to worry about them anyway..."

He laughed "Neither do I."

She watched as he took her right, fake arm and put a glove on it. The fabric was loose, until he tightened it by pulling on a few strips. She wiggled her fingers "What's that?"

"This is how you pilot." He tightened a last strap "Just hover your hand over the right panel. The rest is easy."

Mia smiled as she did so; managing to reach without any problems. She held her hand still for a second "What's supposed to... happen..." She stopped talking as a green bar intersected her hand vertically. Using her other hand, she tried to touch it, but her fingers passed through "Nice..."

"Yeah. The price for something like that is lower than you think too."

She watched as another green bar appeared horizontally, at a right angle to the direction her hand pointed, and a third which followed the angle of her arm "What do I do now?"

"First, you need to set the Gain." He looked over the polished surface under her hand and pressed one of the glowing spots. It changed from yellow to green "That should prevent you from having an accident." He winked, stepping behind the chair and out of her sight "Just raise your hand slowly."

Mia did as she was told, lifting her hand. Immediately, she felt more than heard a dull throbbing as the view out the window ascended "Wow... Hey, this is easy!" She turned her hand to the right, the ship obeyed and turned "And cool..."

"Knew you'd like it." He chuckled "Keep an eye on this."

She looked to see what he was pointing at. It was one of the readouts, the numbers displayed changing slowly "What do all these things mean?"

"The top one is the distance you can travel straight up without hitting anything. The lower one is for below us. Left and right... well... you've guessed, right?"

"Yeah. Left for left, right for right. What about the two in the middle?"

"The green one is for in front and..."

"... the lower one id for behind. Okay."

He laughed "This might be fun... Line us up with the bay door while I get them to open up. Be careful that you don't get too close; I wouldn't like getting sucked out by the vacuum."

She leaned her head back and kissed him "Okay..."

Scarr smiled down at Mia "Keep your eyes on the road, as the saying goes..."

"Aye, cap'n!"

He laughed, straightening as she gradually nudged the Warbird into place. He turned to a monitor embedded into the wall "Audio only to Hermes." The screen lit up with the connection's statistics "Hermes, my ship is ready to give you all a tug."

"Alright, we need a moment to vent the atmosphere from the bay."

"Hermes?"

"Yes?"

"One of my systems are damages beyond repair, may I visit an equipment dock?"

"... How long will you take?"

"Less than a day." Scarr grinned "I may be able to pick up some fuel while I'm there."

"... Alright."

"Thank you."

"We're sending you our navigational information, you know more of this region than us."

"Okay. I'll check your course against my own maps."

"Incoming data; catch or discard?" His computer spoke up.

"Catch."

"... Five hundred megabytes collected. Analyzing contents."

"Scarr?" He looked towards the cockpit and, on seeing the bay doors full open, grinned "Take us out slowly, and watch those proximity metres."

"Aye!" Mia giggled.
