#5 of Tale of a Dragonborn

Raptor stood in front of Roth wearing a full suit of iron armor. However, he kept his head down. He was ashamed of himself. Ashamed that he would let someone manipulate him.

"What's the matter?" Roth looked Raptor up and down. "You look good in that armor. And you should be happy to work for me." Roth began laughing.

"Coward." Raptor kept his head down. "You're nothing but a coward."

"I'm a coward?" Roth crossed his arms. "I'm the coward, yet you won't make your own decisions."

Raptor looked up at Roth with a blank stare. "You don't give me much choice. You threaten my friends. You're the coward! You manipulate-"

"Ah ah ah." Roth waved his finger in the air. "I can easily give the order to kill Melissa."

Raptor put his head back down. "Then I want to leave, now."

Raptor was lead out of the castle by three lieutenants to a wagon that would be driven to the Dantar Desert. Raptor got inside and the wagon was off.

All of the wagons were pulled by Peulers. Peulers are like green three legged horses that have black stripes. Their mouth opens vertically and is lined with very sharp teeth that they use for defence. They have a long tongue that is forked at the end. It's a very hard and long process to tame them so only lieutenants or higher ranked military officers are allowed to ride them.

Raptor watched as the city street moved by. All of the different criminals and opium addicts. It was weird that all of the citizens looked like criminals. Every single one looked like some sort of thief, brigand or addict.

As the wagon moved through the streets, Raptor caught a glimpse of Melissa in the crowd. "Hold on! Stop! I have to go talk to someone." Raptor leaped off of the wagon as it was slowing to a stop and ran off in to the crowd.

The lieutenant stoped the wagon and looked into the crowd. "Raptor! Don't forget the deal, you cannot say anything!" He waited for an answer and when he got none, he sent the other two lieutenants after him.

Raptor pushed through the crowds of people and then found Melissa. "Melissa! Melissa!"

Melissa turned and saw Raptor running at her. She was surprised to see him in such nice iron armor. "Raptor? Is that you? Where did you get that armor?"

Raptor held on to Melissa's shoulders. "I need you to do something for me! How are your stealth skills?"

Melissa was extremely confused. "They're okay... Why? What's going on?"

"I don't have time to explain." Raptor said quickly. "Even if I did, you and I would be in extreme danger. Just listen. I need you to sneak into the castle and dig up some dirt on the king."

Melissa looked behind her and saw the not so distant castle. "Why am I doing this?"

Raptor shook Melissa to get her attention. "Listen. I'm being sent off to be killed. I wont be back. But the king did something very bad. I don't have any evidence and I'm not exactly sure what it is he did, but he did something. A prison guard inside named Johnny knows what happened. Find him and maybe you'll get some sort of lead." The two lieutenants sent after Raptor showed up and grabbed him by the arms pulling him away. "Do that for me! Please! Good bye Melissa! It was nice knowing you!"

Melissa was very confused and didn't know exactly what to do. "Dig up some dirt on the king. Not exactly the easiest and most straight forward task I have been given."

Raptor was thrown into the wagon and the two lieutenants climbed in after. The lieutenant driving the wagon looked back at Raptor. "I saw that from here. I understand you want to say your goodbyes, but we have orders to not let you out of our site until we reach your destination. So who was that? Some wench your scored with?" Raptor didn't pay any attention to him. "C'mon, stop being a sour puss. My name is Jacob Sanders. People call me Lieutenant Sanders."

Raptor looked up at Jacob. "Just drive."

"Okay then." Jacob turned back to face his front and kicked the peuler causing it to walk off pulling the wagon.

Melissa walked up to the stairs in front of the big doors that led into the castle. "It's not like I can knock on the door and ask them to let me in." She began looking around for another access point. There were a bunch of windows, but they were too high to climb into. She then spotted a hole by the wall. Melissa ran over to it and peered down into it. It seemed to be a hole that got dug down and underneath the castle. She slwoly climbed inside and began crawling through the small place.

It was obviously and old hole since the dirt crumbled as she scraped her back across the roof. Many bugs had made it their home, including thirty inch centipedes. Melissa just crawled over them like they didn't exist, crushing them in the process. The tunnel went to a downward slope and then leveled out in front of a brick wall. "Great. Who knew that I would be taking on the legacy of a person I met last night."

There was a loud crumbling noise as the roof caved in behind Melissa. "Shit! I'm stuck! Buried alive!" Melissa tried to move, but there was not enough room. "God damn it! Im going to die too!"

Just then Melissa heard a muffled voice. "Is someone there?"

Melissa turned her ear to the wall so she could hear it better. "Is that coming from the wall? Can you hear me?"

The muffled voice spoke again. "Yes. Are you alright?"

"Get me out of here!" Melissa began yelling. "I'm buried alive! I need to get out!"

"Relax." The muffled voice said. "Can you see the bricks? Push them out."

Melissa lifted her hand and pushed on one of the bricks. With out any effort at all, the brick fell out and the rest of them went with it. She then crawled out onto a coblestone floor in a jail cell. In front of her stood a man with short spiked blonde hair, a green tunic with green pants and a dagger at his side. Melisse stood up and looked the man in the eye. "Alfred? Is that you?"
