Chapter 4

Garret just ignored us and walked out of his room. Miss Miller said "You better get ready for school Nathan unless you want to be late." Nathan just groaned and walked back upstairs. "So, what are you going to do today Gabe?" Miss Miller asked. I answered unsure of myself "I really don't know. I might just hangout at Mitchell canyon."

She just stood there nodding. Garret came out of his room ready for school, he was followed by Nathan who was also ready. Nathan said in an impatient voice "We are ready Mom lets go!" She yelled back "Alright, alright I'm coming." As Nathan was halfway through the door he yelled "Later Gabe." "Later Nathan." After that I was left alone standing there. I wandered into Nathans garage looking for a bow or something to hunt with in the canyon but I realized it's a public canyon and it's not allowed.

I just ignored it and took a large hunting knife with me anyways. I walked out of the house and began the 2 mile trek to the canyon. When I got there I started exploring, I found a nice strong, shady tree to sit under. When I sat down I realized how tired I was from the lack of sleep. My eyelids started getting really heavy. "Maybe I will just sleep here for a few minutes." I thought to myself as I fell into a deep sleep.

I was in a room that was all white. "Is this a dream?" I asked as a figure that looked a lot like my mom appeared, she looked really scared and worried, I walked up to her and said "Mom?" but she didn't seem to notice me. She kept asking "Gabriel, Gabriel where are you?" she started getting further and further away. "Mom no, don't go please I'm right here. Mom!" I said as I started running to her, but as I got closer she kept getting further and further away saying "Gabriel where are you?" I started screaming "Mom please don't go!" tears started rolling down my cheeks "Mom I'm right here, please don't go. MOM!" she was far out of my reach and she just faded away. "MOM NO!!!"

I suddenly woke up under the same tree in the canyon. My ears fell back as I hugged my knees and started crying again. I calmed down , wiped my tears away, and walked further into the canyon enjoying the peace. I found a stream and rested there to get a drink, after I satisfied my thirst I headed further into the canyon, but something was stopping my telling me to run, but before I could react a mountain lion attacked me from a ledge and slashed my chest with its claws.

I screamed in pain as blood started running down my chest, I put my paw over the cut, but without warning it pounced on me, pinning me down and biting into my arm. I yelped in pain and tried to get free but it was too heavy. I could feel its teeth sink deeper and deeper into my arm, I started punching it in the face with my free hand yelling "Let go of me you stupid cat!" but it didn't seem like it was affecting it in any way, then I remembered the hunting knife I brought with me.

I grabbed it and stabbed the mountain lion in the eye, pushing it in further so it would go through its brain. The large beast dropped dead with blood trickling down from its eye after that. I pried its mouth open so I could pull my arm free; I pulled the knife out of its eye and walked over to the stream to wash the blood off. I tore a long strip of my shirt off and wrapped it tight around my bleeding arm.

I wandered further into the canyon more cautious now, as I got further in I noticed a cheetah perched in a tree just staring at me letting its tail hang swinging side to side. I grabbed the hunting knife ready to fight again but I was surprised when it said "No, no there is no need for that. I'm not going to attack you."

Well thats the end of chapter 4 I hope you all enjoyed it ^^ please comment and rate my story, I need to know what Im doing wrong or right so I wont make the same mistake in the next chapter.
