Mystery's mystery > 6

Sapphire almost shook himself apart in his desperate need to find Night and make him better however he could. His tail flame roared like a bonfire, while his scales dimmed, turning an almost grey green colour. His mind whirled, thinking about what could have happened to Night, and what that thing was. Sapphire's scales almost rattled with the amount he was shivering. He was positive that something absolutely horrible had happened to Night. What, he had no idea. He just felt that something bad had happened and that Night needed help now. Sapphire yelled when he was picked up and his feet left the ground.

"Hush little one. It's alright." The Meganium that had just picked up Sapphire to better comfort him, turned her head to the shuddering Vaporeon. "What's the matter with you two? What's wrong?"

Amethyst stared at the Meganium. "You didn't feel it?" She asked in a hushed whisper. The meganium shook her head, looking back quizically. "How could you not feel it..?" Amethyst's shaking legs gave way and she flopped upon the soft grass of the garden. She stared at a blade of grass that was right in front of her left eye. It looked like it was waving. She tried to wave back then stopped as a glowing blue light encased her. She struggled, trying to wave at the grass but found that she was completely unable to move.

The Meganium lashed out at the pokemon that was holding the Vaporeon and Charmander captive. Her vine struck an invisible wall in front of the being. She recalled her vine, blinking at the fuzzy coloured form, and moved herself between it and the youngsters. "Let them go!" Pulling the Charmander she held a little higher she launched a Razor Leaf attack at the other pokemon. These also hit an invisible surface.

"I'm not hurting them. I just want some answers." Said the psychic type behind his deffensive shield. "I just want to know what that thing was. They could feel it, and judging by what they thought, they also knew it. They gave it's name. Night." The Alakazam moved his gaze from the Meganium to what she held slightly behind her serpentine neck. The green Charmander glowed inside of the extremely effective disable move. It's tail blazed with blue heat, a small white flame starting to form in the middle of the blue heat. The Alakazam sweated as he ignored the meganium and put more effort in keeping the little Charmander contained. One of the Charmander's legs twitched, the blue coating shifting to match the movement. The Alakazam stared in disbelief as the young Charmander did what few highly experienced pokemon could do, or ever hope to do.

Focusing more, the Alakazam tried to knock him out by the sheer power of his mind. The muscles straining under the Charmander's scales relaxed as he was knocked out. The Alakazam sighed, somewhat shocked at the amount of power this little Charmander had. Charles walked up behind him and gently tapped him upon the shoulder. Turning slightly to see who it was he said, "Yeah?"

"You should let them go Jiron, she's been charging a solarbeam for the last few minutes." Charles said. Jiron the Alakazam focused upon the Meganium again, seeing that Charles was right. A glowing white/yellow light was gathering around the petals on her neck as sunlight was absorbed. He wrapped a three clawed hand around his partner's wrist and teleported the both of them to safety as the Meganium let loose a pent up solarbeam blast.

The Meganium closed her mouth, the taste of freshly crushed coconut filling her mouth before she swallowed and the taste disappeared. She turned to the two pokemon, gently laying the Charmander down next to the Vaporeon. Concern for their safety warred with the need for knowledge about her egg. Her form shifted as she slowly lay down next to them almost in the middle of the hospital's atrium.

"How am I going to get my egg back?" She asked in a despaired voice, a sob threatening to break free of her throat.

???

The other flew towards the overwhelming feeling of malice. Though he knew it didn't feel alot like him, he knew he had to have another host body as this one was fighting desperately to regain control. The being reached within itself, trying to access his host's abilities. He growled in frustration as something just outside of the host's source of power lashed out at him, trying to ensnare him. Night's once handsome face twisted with rage as the bieng roared it's anger. Great white wings flapped, keeping the being and his host aloft while he searched the nearby area with his own abilities. The feeling of immense hatred intensified as his gaze passed over a human building surrounded by forest trees. Slowing down enough to land, the other spread his wings, gliding down to the rooftop. A wave of electricity shot up at him and he dived to the left, narrowly avoiding a high level thunder bolt. The other flapped, dodging left and right as more and more electric attacks clouded his airspace. Finally getting fed up with all the dodging he was forced to do, the other commanded it's host body to smash through the structure. The other's wings wrapped around it, forming a cocoon of white feathers as he dropped like a stone. Electric attacks hit the white feathers, causing them to sparkle as the bolt was deflected by the speed and rotation of the other's descent. The small group of Jolteon's leaped off of the building as the other's cocooned form smashed through the ceiling and three floors of the structure. Broken electrical wires sparked occaisionally as dust choked the air around the other. Red lights and alarms sounded sounded as the cocooned form of the other slowly shook. White feathers fell to the ground as the other's wings receded into his back. Night's semi naked form could be seen as the last bit of the white wings were sucked into his back. Tears streamed from Night's face as he smashed his right fist into the rubble. The other reasserted his control, forcing Night's body to stand. The other swayed slightly, the mental shock of the fall still messing with him. Shaking his head, the other strode along the corridor towards the being that was similar to him, headless of the loud siren blaring from the speakers he passed. Walking more and more steadily down the corridor the other paused infront of a doorway. The white hair on his head sparkled as he turned to face the opening.

"Raaiii - CHUUU!" Black lightning shot from the doorway. The other dodged, barely, slaming his left shoulder into the manufactured floor of the building. A collar bound red and black Raichu slowly hopped out of the doorway, followed by a woman dressed in black. Cold green eyes glanced up and down the other's form. A spark of recognition, folowed by confusion crossed her eyes. She raised her right hand, flicking the long curls of her mouse brown hair.

"Hello Night. You're early."

The other glared back at the woman as Night wailed inside of his own mind for release. The other snarled, conveying the need for silence. Night hammered at the walls within his own mind even more.

The woman frowned as the other's eyes glazed. She glanced over his overly long white hair and eyes. Her heart near stopped as a possible scenario intruded upon her carefully organised mind. What if this wasn't Night? She swallowed nervously, her heart hammering.

"Rukoi..?" The white eyes snapped back into focus, the glare returning. Her breathing intensified, heart pounding as her eyes widened in fear. The reason why Night was early was made clear, Rukoi had awakened. A shaking hand grasped the black walki talki by her right hip. Flipping it open, she kept her eyes on Rukoi as she dialed one number.

"Dimitri, gas the halls. It's Rukoi, not Night, Gas the Freaking halls!" A slight hissing sound suddenly made itself known. The green eyed female in black looked up at the corners of the corridor. A barely visible green gas was hissing into the corridors. Looking down to her collared Raichu she said, "Raichu, Thunder wave." The Raichu nodded it's black head. It got down on all fours, it's red tail raised above it's head. It growled a low Chuu as its cheek pouches glowed a deep and eerie blood red colour. Bands of black lightning wrapped around Rukoi's form as the paralysing attack took hold. Rukoi snarled, trying to break free of his host and transfer himself to the female before he was subdued. The black lightning wrapped about him, causing muscle spasms as he tried to move. Rukoi roared his defiance even as the gas seeped into his brain, shutting down his thought process'. The green eyed female and her Raichu soon followed as other Team Rocket members filed into the corridor wearing gas masks.

Night woke up. He found himself on his back with a tremendously bright light in his eyes. He tried to flap his wings instinctively. His shoulders grated against the steel of the medical table he was lying upon. There wasn't even the faintest rustle of feathers. Night fainted immediately from shock.

In a dark room behind a mirrored window of glass, several men and women perused data from the subject on the table infront of them. They watched reruns of the person turning into a young man with black hair to a slightly older man with white hair and eyes. Two men perused data detailing muscle growth and density as the being infront of them shifted between identities. The door to the back of the room hissed open, letting in a small amount of red light to frame the person that strode into the room. All work ceased as the man moved up to the window partition that was the only thing between those in the room, and the person on the medical table. One of the older scientists swallowed a moment before reaching for a pile of Data to hand to the man. The man infront of the glass turned, hands clasped behind his back.

"Yes?" He asked in a low voice.

The scientist appeared to struggle a moment, before presenting the data that had been gathered upon the being that was supposedly this man's son. "Sir, The data you requested. It's all there. Everything that's happened since he was put in there has been documented. This is what we have so far learned." The man offered the piles of paper again. A dark glint appeared, then slowly shifted behind the man's eyes as he reached out his left hand to take the paper work detailing the physical changes his son was going through. Quickly scanning the pages, he flicked through them untill he came to the end. He handed them back with a dark smile.

"That's all we have? Nothing more?" The scientist shook his head in the negative. "So all we know, is that he ..... Rukoi ... is strong?" The man gulped, then nodded slowly.

"Dimitri Sir," A younger scientist stood up from the bench he was working at, the monitor of his computer glowing blue against his white overcoat. "What do we do now? We have all the data you requested, we even have some that you didn't, just to be sure we got everything. There is nothing to prove that he has any psychic powers at all. Were it not for the Demon Rukoi nesting within him, I would say that he's as normal as a human gets. Except for the slight differential in his D.N.A. That, I can't explain." He sat down quickly lest his outburst earn him the anger of his boss.

Dimitri turned slowly to face the young man that had spoken. He gestured for the man in front of him to move. He waited patiently while the elderly scientist moved out of his way in a hurry. He took a brief moment to watch the young man in the observation room switch between his son and the demon Rukoi before turning back to the young man that had spoken up. "You don't have all the information yet." Came Dimitri's soft, velvety voice. "For starters, what is around his neck? Night used to have a set of black wings upon his back, what happenned to those? I see no scarring which would have resulted had they been surgically removed. Were it not for his sudden use of his cred chip, I wouldn't even have known that he survived. I have men going through the facility he first used it at right now." He gestured to the floor aggressively. "The information I was just handed simply outlined that what is around his neck gives off heat and energy at a constant rate. If that's something either Rukoi or Night is capable of, I could use that for a new energy source. One of our agents was killed just outside of this facility, yet there is no trace at all of a weapon that could have possibly made that wound. I want answers. I already know the physical side effects of their vying for control. He was my son for years before I had to replace myself. I want to know why Rukoi stayed dormant for so long. Get me the information I seek, or you wont have this job tomorrow." Dimitri stormed out of the dark room, the door hissing open for him. The door closed behind him, leaving behind the look of dread and fear upon the faces of those still inside.

Night woke up again. The light was no longer shining directly into his eyes, though he was still on the metal table. His right hand reached up to the pendant hanging from his neck. The heat within helped energise him, allowing him to examine his surroundings more. Night's green eyes flicked to the mirrored wall of the room he was in. From there, he looked around the room. A large steel door with a grill at the top was the only way in or out. There were four camera's in the top corners of the room, all pointed directly at him. Night's mind did somersaults trying to figure out how he had gotten here. Looking down, Night's eyes became a brilliant red as he saw that he was naked. His legs came up and he sat there, hugging his knees. Night suffered a brief pang of regret that he couldn't cover himself with his wings, before he pushed it aside.

"Think now, cry later. Where's Sapphire? and the Vaporeon? Where are they? Matter of fact, where are you?" Night sat and stewed, his ass slowly growing numb from the cool contact of the metal against it. One of Night's ears flicked as footsteps came to his door. A jingling of keys later, and the door opened. The door pulled back on well greased hinges. Within the door frame stood an extremely heavy set man with a tray of food. With the opening of the door, an array of sounds and smells enterred the room. Night's stomach roiled as inhuman cries and screams, along with the smell of rotting and putrid flesh wafted in behind the man. The tray dropped at the end of the table, bouncing up and allowing some food to spray over the sides of the table. The man turned around, exited, and slammed the door shut. The lock slid home, the man walked away, and Night was left with the smell and the cries bouncing around in his mind. He looked over at the gunk that was supposed to be food. He willed a bubble of energy into existance. Night almost collapsed with the amount of energy it took to cast it. Taking in a shuddering breath, he pushed with his mind, sending the bubble of energy into the tray. The bubble broke upon the edge of the tray, barely moving it at all. Night sprung off of the table in fear, huddling under it as alarms sounded within his "room". Barely visible green gas hissed into the room. Night thought again how desperately he wanted his wings back, a second image overlaying his needs, he paused in thought.

"Sapphire..?" Night grabbed the pendant about his neck, and had barely whispered the name before his eyes shut. Falling unconscious to the floor, the being called Rukoi tried to take advantage of his host's unconsciousness. His hair and eyes turned white before Rukoi too, slipped into unconsciousness.

Sapphire woke. Chilling Ice Blue eyes surveyed the landscape, looking for stronger pokemon to run away from. Sapphire's eyes softened as memmory returned, then hardened again. "Night." The little green Charmander's tail blazed with heat. The surrounding grasses crisped, nearby bushes smoked before bursting into flame. The smell of fire woke the other two pokemon. Amethyst woke first, having lived in the wild, she knew better than others the rage of uncontrolled fire. The Meganium followed, her immediate thoughts being for her own safety. Two heads turned to view a little green Charmander almost completely engulfed by his tail flame. Amethyst yipped in shock as the larger grass type hurredly moved out of the way of the extremely hot blue flames. Amethyst risked getting burned by stepping closer, trying to figure out why the weak little Charmander was now a blazing bushfire.

"Sapphire?" Cold blue eyes fixed upon her own. Amethyst shivered under that stare. Sapphire looked terrifying. Amethyst tucked her tail under her as best she could, yet she still tried. "Sapphire ..... What's happening..?" A flash of concern crossed her face as Sapphire's eyes dimmed a moment. The answer he gave though, sent chills through her.

"Night. Night's in trouble. He needs help. He's afraid, so desperately afraid." The green scaled Charmander known as Sapphire, stood within the blazing inferno of his own tail flame, quivering at the pictures his mind was making up. Images of spinning white rooms and black lightning bounced around inside of his head. A green eyed female and a red and black Raichu soon followed. Sapphire whimpered, raising a glowing green paw to his aching head. The moment the glowing image of the fire emblem in his paw touched his scaled forehead, the last image came through. A flash of red flame sped through the inferno surrounding the Charmander. The two pokemon near him backed up. There was such rage within that little Charmander. Sapphire collapsed, his arms shooting out to stop him from grinding the cuts on his face into the dirt. Amethyst and the Meganium stared at him in shock. The first thing either of them realised, was that Sapphire's tail flame had gone out. More shocking to them though, was the deep red flame symbol upon his right paw. The heartstopping rage was still there, but it no longer felt like it was after them. The rage was centered upon another now, not those nearest to him.

Amethyst was the only one to approach Sapphire. Walking through the circle of charred life around him, she was a little unsure of her safety. Barely touching her nose against his forehead, she almost screeched in pain. He was so Hot! Leaning her head back a bit, she started the chemicals mixing to make water. Her throat muscles contracted, before she moved her head forwards and sprayed the Charmander. Water sizzled into non existance as the extreme heat of Sapphire's scales cooked the liquid almost before it touched him. The spray did help to rouse him though. Sapphire's eyes fluttered open, focusing upon her. Amethyst backed up under that hard and unforgiving gaze. This was a side of the Charmander that she had never seen before.

Sapphire sat up on his legs and tail, staring at nothing in particular, yet focused with deadly intent upon a destination. The blue tinted claws upon his right paw curled around into a fist, closing the blazing red flames from view. Shedding a single tear that hissed upon his scales, Sapphire remembered the last image and the emotion that came with it. "They took his wings. They took his wings and he's despairing that he'll never be able to fly again." Sapphire's tail tip showed the barest hint of blue flame as he toppled forwards again. The massive amount of power he had just used up left him weak, but determined.

Several hundreds of miles away, in a cavern filled with water and life, two psychic pokemon reeled from the mental backlash of a strong mind in suffering. The marble white and emerald green marked pokemon, turned and faced the powerful psychic that had been meditating next to her. Her eyes glistened with tears that were only just being held back.

*Mewtwo..*

*Yes, I know. I felt him.* The Mewtwo turned to her. His eyes cracked open a touch, allowing a gleam of the mytical blue light to shine through his eyes. *You are intending to leave.*

The other nodded softly, her mental voice echoing her sadness and pain. *He's my Son. He's hurt and scared. I need to help him if I can.*

The mewtwo nodded slowly, turning his head to the entrance of the cave. Opening his eyes fully, he used the mearest touch of his mind to probe the area where the anguish had come from. The echoes that he came in contact with did not bode well. *If you are going, you must wait. There are others near him who share your love. I will help him from here, but you must not go to him now. He is not yet ready to accept.*

The other nodded in understanding. Though it hurt her, she knew he was right. Still, her mind was open to him as she thought about ways to help her son without him knowing. The Mewtwo sent a query, causing her to close her mind abruptly. The Mewtwo shook his head. *I know you think that if he just knew, he would understand everything. But you must understand this Elyan, He's human. They can be as stubborn as a mountain.*

Elyan blinked. *But even a mountain must move eventually.*

Mewtwo nodded. *This is true, but will your interferrance help, or hinder that movement?*

Elyan stared in shock, her complex mind working in, through, and around the problem. She sighed in defeat. *I do not know.*

Mewtwo smiled, *Then maybe it is best to just wait and see, than to interferre now and never know.*

Elyan curtsied. *As always, you give wise council when you choose.* Her mind hesitated, before continuing. *But I must go to him. If my being there could have changed everything, and I wasn't there to help. I would never be able to live with myself.*

Mewtwo nodded. *Then go, but do not interferre in his life, he must live it, not you.*

Elyan curtsied again. *I will do my utmost not to help him.*

Elyan blinked, then was gone.

*cough cough.* Well, I guess this means I can expect to get my ass kicked for this. *sigh* Oh well.
