THE FOREST OF DREAMS

The changes you face within are irreversible...

Chapter 7: Returning Home

Jason was ecstatic. It had been an exhausting 12 weeks away from home, but he was finally heading back. He couldn't wait to see Lilah again, he missed her so much. It would be a week's walk from Horny hills back to the forest, and Jason was sure it would be the longest week he'd ever faced.

He was right. The days dragged by, the minutes seeming like hours, and the hours like days. He was restless constantly, losing more and more sleep every night. Then one day, when the clouds were beginning to obscure the sun, one last ray illuminated the tips of the pine trees that bordered the forest. Jason broke into a run as the first drops of rain fell. He couldn't even feel them. Seeing Lilah again was all he could think about, and he knew he wasn't far. Lance and Amber looked at each other, and then ran after him, giggling as they slid around on the wet grass. Jason's happy tears mingled with the drops of rain as he found the entrance to his den. He snuck quietly into the den, the sound of the pouring rain masking his footsteps. Lilah was tending the fire, her back to the entrance. Jason nuzzled up to her from behind. She started, but he calmed her by saying, "It's me, baby. I'm home." He could feel her body shaking. She turned to him, her eyes full of joyous tears.

"Jason!" she shouted, and, turning, she embraced him in the tightest hug he had ever experienced. He could have sworn he felt his ribs cracking. He hugged her back, and soon they were kissing passionately. Lilah hadn't been wearing anything; she rarely ever did. Jason took full advantage of this as he moved his head down to lick and suck her nipples. They responded instantly, hardening as Lilah moaned into Jason's ear.

"I've been so lonely," she whispered, "waiting for you..."

"I've missed you too, my love. No matter what, nothing could distract me from my thoughts of you. But now isn't the time for talk..." He carried her over to the bed and laid her down. He put her knees up, spread her legs, and started to lick around her mound. He purposely avoided touching her inner lips or her clit, and simply took long, slow licks around her glory hole. She moaned and squirmed. She hadn't had sex once since Jason had left, and even masturbating couldn't get her to cum. But now that Jason was home, she knew that she would be having multiple raging orgasms in no time at all. Jason soon ended his delightful torture and finally dipped his tongue into Lilah's sweet, sweet nectar. As soon as his tongue entered her, she screamed with a massive orgasm. Jason kept on licking faster and faster, bringing her orgasm to new heights. Then, he rolled up his tongue and stuck it in her, as he had done oh so many times while he was away. She screamed even louder and had her second orgasm of the night. But there would be so many more to come...

Jason had a very strange dream that night. All it was about was prominent moments from his life in the human world. It basically accounted to a fast-motion playback of his entire life, with the more important parts slowed down.

It was his first day of school...he was alone, and scared. But he made a friend...Jeremy Ramos. They spent so much time together...he was like the brother that Jason never had. He remembered his parents...one couldn't exactly call them a perfect family. Jason's family was very rich, but his parents were rather bigoted and arrogant. He was given every privilege a child could want, but any child raised without love will be slightly maladjusted, at the very least. He remembered all of his video games, his sports equipment, none of it could make up for their almost constant absence.

He spent so much time at Jeremy's home that his mother, Cyan, practically raised him. Jeremy's father, William, had died in a shootout with a gang when Jeremy was only 8 years old. Because of this, Jeremy could sympathize with Jason's parental absence issue. It began to speed up again...

There he was; freshman yeah of high school. He was asking out one of the cheerleaders. She turned him down, calling him a 'nerd' and a 'freak.' He tried to hide his tears, but the pain was so deep...and it didn't, wouldn't go away. Again, the dream went faster...

He was standing next to the smoldering wreck of Jeremy's car...staring at his blackened face...those lifeless eyes...he never even got a chance to tell Jeremy how much his friendship meant to him...he was only 16, and now he was alone in the world...it sped up once more...

He was at high school graduation. His name was called to go collect his diploma, and it was announced that he was chosen as the school Valedictorian...he waited for the applause...but it didn't come. At least not the applause he cared about. The seats that he had reserved for his parents were empty...again, the dream went faster...

After the grad party, he went home to an empty house...his cell phone, which he had left there, was lying on the table. The home phone's answering machine was beeping. That was odd. His parents always told people to call their cell phones, since they were rarely home. He pressed play...and suddenly, the volume of the dream increased, and his was swept somewhere he had never been...

While the message was playing loudly in the background, Jason could see his parents...they had taken a vacation...without him...they had gone cliff diving. It was all the rage for the multi-millionaire couples. But something had gone wrong...a cord had snapped, a parachute didn't deploy, something like that...and just like that, his parents were dead. He inherited their entire estate, as their will had stipulated...and the dream sped up again...

The slow sequences were less and less frequent now, but just as important. His first house, his first job, his attempted suicide...the dream was showing him everything that had ever happened to change his life. When he was fired from his job...when he decided to use his inherited fortune to become a world-famous hunter and disprove all of the world's long-lasting myths...

Then, he heard about the forest that was supposedly cursed...no hunter had ever returned from it, but there was never any evidence of blood, or a body, or even a struggle. But a cursed forest was nothing, he had already disproven at least 10 of them...then the foggy wall...and the portal. He awoke to the image of Lilah, sitting and tending the fire...

Jason awoke the next morning to see that Lilah was still asleep. He kissed her on the cheek before getting up and stretching. It felt good to be home. He stepped out of the den and immediately caught sight of a large crowd heading down the road to the DIT. He ran to catch up with them and asked a red squirrel near the back of the crowd what was going on.

"Apparently they've been able to isolate the location of one of the portals. They're going to see if they can reverse it, and send people back!" Jason's eyes widened.

"You mean I-we....we could go home?"

"That's right! We can all return to our families now!"

"Jason stopped."Our families..." the dream came flooding back to him: Jeremy, his parents, the dismissal from his job, the decision to become a world-famous hunter...it had all lead here.

"Yeah! I don't know about anyone else, but I sure as hell am NOT staying here! My wife must be worried sick!" Jason stopped walking and turned around, heading for his den. He had to admit, there were many things in the human world that he missed...but those were things, not people. He had always felt isolated from everyone else, but now that he was here, he had Lilah, his love, and Lance and Amber, his good friends...who was to say that he had to go back? His life here had been much more interesting, to say the least. He returned to the den to see Amber and Lance sitting there with Lilah. Amber jumped up, ran over to Jason, and embraced him.

"Jason, have you heard? The DIT -"

"Yeah, I heard. They might be able to send them back..."

"So," said Lilah, her eyes brimming with tears, "you're leaving?"

"No. I'm not." she looked at him. "But...but that world is your home!"

"We have a saying in that world that home is where your heart is. And if that's true, then my home is, and always will be, here. You have my heart, Lilah, and anywhere you go is my home. I'm staying." He knelt down and took her hands in his.

"Nothing in any world could convince me to leave you, Lilah. I mean it from the bottom of my heart." Lilah was still crying, but now it was from happiness.

"Jason...I don't know what to say!"

"And that," Jason replied, "says more than you ever could."

THE END

Author's note: I know that this chapter is considerably shorter than my others. There are a few reasons for this:

1) I've had this story running for over 3 months now, and I really wanted to finish it quick.

2) I really had no more plot to incorporate that wouldn't add another 2 chapters at LEAST.

3) I was running out of creative ides for the yiffy scenes.
