#2 of Anarchy Riders

Chpt. 2

The ride to HQ was not a long one but it was far from short, Baden and Kira had to pass through two towns before they reached HQ which was set into a mountainside for a sense of natural protection. The first town was clear for the most part, Baden easily wove through the streets with little trouble but the second they knew belonged to the government and it's citizens highly loyal as well. The scenery had changed, it was no longer a large desert it was now savanna and this city would not have the underground supports to keep it from sinking, Baden and Kira would have to stay on the streets and seeing the helicopters patrolling the open areas next to the city, it would be suicide to go around.

Kira watched as a helicopter flew near the large bush they hid behind for cover. The large black one propeller apache with a white badge on both sides that read GRD on the side which stood for the Global Rights Division, "Any ideas Baden?",

"Well we could go around get shot and die, or go through get shot and die"

"Glad to see your optimistic"

"Actually I am, cause we'd at least make it to the edge of the city before we got shot"

"Your right no matter what we're going to have to contend with those flyboys"

"And with no AA that's not going to be pretty" A slight hum could be heard behind them and they turned around to see a dirt bike rushing down the road and slowing to a stop near them. The fur a black cat was clearly an Anarchist due to his beat gear and gun.

"You two, your riders right?" Baden and Kira looked at the fur and Kira answered,

"Yeah and you are?"

"Just a messenger with the sector 6 division city 24"

"What's your message?"

"We need help taking this city and you need to get through it I'm guessing"

"That we do" Baden spoke instead of Kira,

"Well then you two would be in need of assistance, it just so happens my battalion is planning a large assault on this town but we need all the help we can get"

"If you have a large battalion what help could you possibly need?"

"We are mostly AA gunnery and Heavy Artillery, a lot of the troops have been converted from artillery to solider and don't have experience in front line combat, those choppers will be no problem but the soldiers will be something else"

"How can just two of us be of assistance?"

"I don't know, command saw you come threw town and sent me after you"

"Alright, I guess we have no choice, we'll follow you, Kira get on the bike" Baden quickly gets on the bike as the rebel solider sped his dirt bike back towards the town he'd come from. Once Kira was on, Baden followed.

They entered town and were immediately driving deep into town, reaching a dismal looking area, shanty houses stack one on another with only minimal light emitting from them. Reaching a large grouping of shantys the rebel stops his bike and leaves it at the side of the rusted structures, heading inside without a word, Baden and Kira followed suit. Walking into the large shanty grouping it became clear they were all connected. The area consisted of large tables with marked up maps, of enemy positions and allies. They had both maps of the entire country and individual cities, but the ones every fur centered around including the one that had retrieved them, was at one map, the one of the city Kira and Baden needed to pass threw.

Baden looked at Kira, even though they were considered of equal class she was of a higher rank and therefore in charge in the war room, she looked back, "See if you can get a few Anti-missile flares attached to the bike, I got this"

"Right then see you in a bit" Baden quickly leaves. Kira then joins the others at the table, she was now highest commanding officer in the room she realized they had now sector commander or main generals, that meant she was in that position now. But they already seemed to have a plan and she was not going to interfere if not needed. She looked at the map, it dictated a hard strike to one side, patterned to send AA first with troops close behind, taking out choppers quickly and sending soldiers into town before starting full engagement outside.

"So where should Baden and I be?" She said looking at the map, a pug looking up, merely a lieutenant he had been running the show for weeks and it showed as he was stressed, "Sorry maim but that is your choice, you are commanding officer"

"No, I'm going to let this fall on you, consider this a promotion, you are now the commanding general of this sector"

"But I've done.."

"Save it, you've done pleanty, this plan was yours no?"

"Yes but how did you?"

"It shows, that stress, that anxious look, comes only when you don't know if it'll work or not" He nodded, "Okay, I'm Pugsly, yes I know the name is rhetorical"

"Okay Commander Pugsly, where should we be?"

"I'm thinking a rider breaking into town at the head of the assault would be our best action, it would disrupt forces there and allow or converted soldiers to get in"

"Your putting the converted soldiers at the front of the assault?"

"That's where they'll be most concentrated and easiest to get back up to"

"Ah yes I can see that, okay, your AA, where they going to be when you get into the town?"

"We are going to move some into town to dig in the rest are going to stay out and keep the peacekeepers from just bombing the town" Kira nods,

"When is this attack?"

"In two days"

"Alright, I'll need a garage"

"We can get one but you'll have to stay there too"

"No problem, do that anyway"

"Okay then, Harken!" He called out and the black cat from earlier,

"Yes sir?"

"Take General..."

"Kira"

"General Kira to the war houses garage"

"Yes sir" Harken points, "This way maim" And begins walking down a hall, Kira follows.

During all this, Baden had been out, searching for a black market, or anarchist supply, he found the supply first, a simple three story brick building. Each floor in it was a big open space, small poles here and there for support. Rows and rows of crates which Baden now walked threw, looking for a crate labeled Anti-Missile Flares. Which was proving to be very annoying, it took him nearly thirty minutes to find the crate he needed and then Kira had found him, told him where they had set up shop and left.

He grumbled as he dug into the crate, pulling eight flares and firing mechanisms, putting them carefully into a smaller box he carried them to the door which took him ten minutes to find, the guards bid him ado and he heads to the garage. Kira had taken her place under the bike and he set down the flares, it had now darkened outside.

"You going to work on that bike all night again?" Kira slid out from under,

"Oh uh Baden, no I wasn't planning to, I was just occupying myself till you got back"

"Why till I got back?" She got up and walked over to the table getting a large bottle and brining it over, Baden spoke, "Wine?"

"Well in two days we will be part of a large assault"

"Ah yes of course and gotta keep up with our tradition of getting drunk before then"

"Incase we die" She smiled and popped open the bottle,

"Believe me, I didn't choose the wine for any other reason" She took a swig and handed it to Baden who sat down and took a swig too,

"I wouldn't expect it" He handed it back to her and she sat next to him and to a long drink, not stopping till Baden took it from her lips,

"Hey now I still want some!" He took a few swigs to counteract her large drink, she grinned, "But it takes me more to get wasted"

"yeah yeah I know your such a redneck"

"Hey!" He chuckled and grinned, handing the bottle back to her.

They drank for hours, making the wine last seeing is good drink was hard to come by. Kira yawned and stretched, "I'm thinking it's time for some sleep" Baden nodded,

"Wine's gone so, I agree" Kira nodded and stood but her leg had gone to sleep and being slightly drunk, she fell but Baden quickly caught her. She blinked, "Sorry"

"About what, you just fell" She nodded and looked at him, not exactly sure why but her lips fell onto his for a moment, then she pulled away,

"sorry" Baden blinked confused as Kira got up again and headed to a cot she had set up, crawling onto it she curled up to go to sleep, Baden would sit there for a long while before falling asleep on the crate they had been sitting on.
