    "I don...

Silver's Stories 6

The younger years.

"I don't want to get up." I mumbled to myself as I herd the sound of the alarm clock starting to feel the room. The cold and unwavering sound only meant one thing, it was a school morning. I rolled over and hit the snooze, in attempted to go back to sleep, and I managed to doze back off.

"Hay Shanoa it's time to get up. You got to go to school, your not going to miss it." My sister said banging on my door. I knew that she wouldn't stop till she was sure that I was up. So all hope for sleep was shot now.

"I'm up, I'm up!" I barked at the door and sat up in bed. I glanced over to the clock to see that it was time to start getting dressed. I let out a small whimper as my silver colored paw pads hit the cold wood floor. I padded across the room and to the closet, and swung the door open. "Ummmmmm what to where?" I asked myself, looking through the many outfits that I had hung up. I finally settled on a dark blue top, with a small kitten playing with a ball of yarn. I took the matching skirt that went with it, and tossed it on my bed. Then to the dresser to grab some panties and my favorite pair of stockings. Black and pink striped.

"Hurry up, your going to miss breakfast." My sister called up the stairs to me. I just rolled my eyes, and started to undress. I slid out of the large shirt, that was almost long enough to be a dress on me. It was one of my older brothers shirts. Alex was only a two years older than me, and almost a good foot and a half taller than me. I stood there looking at my flat chest, hoping that my breasts would start growing soon. I took the necklace that hung on a hook next to my mirror and put it on. The small red charm stood out in the sea of white fluff on my chest. Next came the flannel pajama pants I had on. They hid the one thing that I hated about my body. My male-hood, I turned away.

I was born a male, and at a young age I knew that I was different, that I wasn't like the other males my age. From the time that I was old enough to walk, and talk I made that clear. I would sneak into my sisters room, and steal her panties, and clothes. I'm thankful that she is my age, other wise it wouldn't work. I remember being told that I should act more like my older brother, to me more like a boy, to go out and play sports and things like that. And one faithful night, after things went sour between mom and dad, and he left. She found me sitting in my room playing with my sister's dolls, dressed in pilfered clothes. At first she thought it was a faze, but she soon found out that it wasn't. We talked for a long time. After that, I started seeing a shrink and fast forward a bit. Mom falls ill, and passes away, and me, my older brother Alex, and sister Amy where took in by some close family. I was eleven at this point, and dressing and acting as a female full time. My aunt was surprised when she came to pick up two males and a female, but she got two females and the one male. Now a few years later, I'm starting school as a female. Going as Shanoa Frostpaw, not Silver.

I snapped back from the memories as I finished buttoning my skirt, and brushing the winkles out, and reaching for my stockings and slipped the on, over my grayish black furred legs. I stood up and twirled in front of my mirror, and looked my self over. I took pride in my long brown hair, with blond bangs, my silken fur, shimmering in the light. I took pride in my looks, doing all that I could to make my self appear more female in looks. I took the well used brush from my bed side table and made a small mental note that I needed to clean the hair and fluff from it. I ran it through my hair, winching and whimpering at a few of the bad knots. From there the brush worked its way through the fur on my long plush tail. With one last twirl in front of the mirror, I was happy. I grabbed the messenger bag and left my room, and made my way down the stairs and to the kitchen, dropping off my bag at the sofa as I passed it and took my seat at the table. Shortly joined by Alex and Amy. Alex looking mostly like he, just crawled out of bed, dressed in a red long sleeved, and some jeans. Amy dressed in a pink top and some black jeans.

I purred as we all talked, and our aunt passed out the plates holding our breakfast. I loved my family, even it was just us four. Once the rest of the family herd about my 'condition' they slowly started to slid away from us. It was happening even before all the drama, and the news of my 'condition' started to spread, I wasn't like the rest of my family. They are maned wolves, me I'm a hybrid. I was the product of an affaire. My mom had a short, separation from her husband. In that time, she meet a Somali cat, and things happened and I was conceived. In short I hit the genetic lottery, I had attributes of both the maned wolf and the Somali cat, but the cat in me just out did the wolf. So I stand out among my family. Alex and Amy are almost perfect modules of the maned wolf breed. They and my aunt loved me for me, all the differences included.

"Hay Shanoa, you know that you got gym first thing today? Right" Amy asked, snapping me out of my thoughts. I looked up and smiled.

"Yeah I know. Hopefully it will be inside, but you know the gym teacher, the only time it's on the inside is when it's raining or something." I said letting out a dramatic sigh.

"Just make sure that you got something warm in your bag." Mary said smiling and sipping her coffee.

"I do, I got some of Alex's sweat pants, and a thick jacket." I said smiling and purring a bit as I finished eating.

"So, that's where my sweat pants went." Alex said smiling and looking over at me.

"There your old ones. You know that I couldn't fit into your pants, well I could but they would be way to big." I said as I finished the last of my milk.

"All right kids its time to go." Mary said as she got up and walked over to the counter and got the car keys, the three of us following suit. We all took a seat on the sofa and started putting on our shoes. I had my black boots that have a bit of fluff at the top and a few shiny buckles on them. Alex and Amy had there tennis shoes. I slipped into my black jacket with the punk rocker deigns on them, as my siblings did with there coats. Out the door and into the family van, Alex getting the front seat, me and Amy taking the back seat. We had a rotation set for who gets to sit in the front and when.

"I hear that it's supposed to snow today." Alex said as we buckled in and the car's engine sputtered to life.

"I herd that to, and I'll believe it when it happens." Amy said looking out the window. The morning was a bright and clear one. Not a cloud in the sky, everything was clear and the air was crisp and clean smelling.

"Hay, if it clouds up it could do it." I said smiling and looking out the window. I loved winter time, the cold was the only real bother, but it didn't get to me to bad. I loved the season for how crisp and clean the air was, for the chances of snow. I absolutely loved the snow, I could spend hours on end out snapping photos. I loved photography, aunt Mary got me a nice digital camera, and I took it every where with me, it had its own little pocket in my messenger bag. Along with my writing notebook, and my sketch book too.

"So Shanoa, are you making friends?" Mary asked as we came to a stop light.

"I have. I have two really good friends. Rachel, and Emile." I said happily as my blue tail tip twitched happily. Rachel, and Emile where the first friends that I made, and we all became good friends. Rachel is the oldest of the three of us, she's fifteen. She is a strong willed, and wild, but she can be as sweet as ice cream. A calico cat, tri point colored fur earned her the nick name of Patches from our class mates. Emile is the youngest of our group at fourteen, sure she and I are the same age, but I am a few months older than her. She's happy all the time, and tends to rush into anything, putting all she has into everything that she does, that's why she is an honor student. An arctic fox, snow white, with a little shimmering ting of blue, black paws, and tail tip and ear tips.

"Those three are inseparable, they all have all the same classes." Amy said smiling. "And then there's the boy that Shanoa talks to all the time." She said giggling.

"How....how did you know that?!" I asked surprised, and blushing pretty dark. "I mean I like him, but I don't like him like that." I said, I was lying but she didn't need to know that yet.

"Awwww that's perfectly normal for you all to start noticing your class mates in a special manner." Mary said as she parked the car. "Just be careful, and don't let anyone try and change you, or hurt you." She said as she unlocked the car doors, and let us out. We all made the walk rather fast, the biting cold spurring us into the warmth of the building.

"I'll see you at lunch." Amy said to us as she split off to head to her locker and to her class.

"See you." I said waving to her as me and Alex stopped at our lockers. I grabbed my bag that had my gym cloths in it.

"Try not to freeze." Alex said smiling as he grabbed his books and head in the opposite direction of me. I whimpered to myself as I walked to the gym. The walk was short, seeing as the gym was off to the right of the entry way, and down a flit of stairs. At the bottom and through some double doors I made a left turn and slipped into the girls locker room, and saw Rachel's and Emile's foot paws in the changing stalls.

"Hay you guys." I said cheerfully as I stepped into the last of the open stalls. I tosses my bag on the little table

"Hay Shanoa, you ready to freeze?" Emile asked giggling, knowing that I didn't like the cold, and that Rachel hated it.

"No one is ever ready but you." Rachel said, I'm sure that she was rolling her eyes.

"You and your unfair advantages. Rachel and I are house cats, we love to be all warm and snuggly." I said as I pulled the thick shirt over my head and adjusted my hair. I sat on the bench and slipped out of my boots.

"I can see Rachel whining about the cold, but you have such thick, and soft fur." Emile said opening her door and stepping out.

"Yeah you would think that, but it helps, but it doesn't stop the cold." I said as I tied the draw string of my sweat pants, and then stepping out, Rachel joining us as we headed out to the gym and then out into the cold. The outside of the school was split into three areas, the football field, the baseball diamond, and the soccer field. For the ones that didn't want to be part of the three, there is a walking track around the soccer field, you just have to be mind full of stray balls flying your way.

The three of us had decided to go out and play some soccer. The mass of cubs had gathered in the middle of the field. The two self appointed leaders starting to pick who they wanted on there teams. In the end, it was Rachel and me against Emile and the other team. I was one of the best goalies in my grade, and as soon as the school started playing competitive soccer I would be one of the first to sign up for it, aiming to be goalie of course.

The game started off fast, and the competition starting, strong. My team matching goals with the other team and soon taking the lead. Moments before Emile landed a goal, the schools PA system crackling to life, and the principle's rough voice starting to fill the air.

"Due to the imposing bad weather, we will be releasing all the students. The phone in the main office will be available for those that need to make a call home for a ride. Thank you." He said as his voice died out. Soon followed by the sound of kits, cheering and running back to the main building to get ready to leave. Just like the others, me and the others made our way to the building and into the locker room, and into our changing stalls. The locker room was semi crowded with other girls changing there clothes, and doing there business.

"Looks like we got here to late to make it to one of the changing stalls." Rachel said as I reached into my locker and got out my clothes. "I guess we'll just have to make do out in the open." She said with a shrug.

"The line isn't that long." I said nervously, as I looked around hoping to see one of the stalls come open.

"Oh come on Shanoa, it isn't that bad, I mean we're all girls, and all have the same parts." Emile said as she was changing.

"Yeah, but....I....I'm not used to changing front of other people." I said, my face burning with blush. The fear setting in as I realized how bad the situation was. Thank the god or goddess, or who ever happened to be watching over me at that moment. One of the stalls came open and I slipped in as fast as I could, locking the door behind me, and letting out a loud sigh. With shaky paws I started to undress. My boots get slipped off, and then the sweet pants that I had on. I took skirt out of the bag, and got it around my waist and buttoned. The whole time I could hear giggles, and rustling out side the stall. I paid no mind to it as I slid out of the sweet shirt that I had on, ruffling my hair in the process. I picked up my shirt, and was getting ready to put it on when the stall door swung open.

"I see why Shanoa doesn't want to get changed in front of the other girls." Jessica said as she stood the pointing and snickering at me. She is long furred collie, but the way she talked and acted you would think that she was nothing more than a fur covered shark, with snake's fangs. I had turned around to face her, and to my horror she had several girls around her, all of them pointing and laughing at me. I used my shirt to cover my chest.

"What.....the hell?" I stammered out, and reaching to close the door. Fear, anger and sadness washing over me as she stood there with her friends laughing at me.

"Still as flat, and ugly as a boy." She said. The words, cutting right through me. Wounding me to the core as I felt the tears starting to well up. "Awwww look, she's going to cry like the little baby she is." She said in a harsh tone following it with her cutting laugh.

"All right now, what ever is happening here, break it up." Mandy's voice echoed through the room, causing the kids to scatter. Once they had all left I put my shirt on and started crying to myself. "Shanoa, sweetie are you all right?" She asked walking to the stall door, and knelling down to be eye level with me. Mandy, the gym teacher, and a tiger. She is tall, strong but just a sweet as anything. The mothering gene strong with her.

"She.....she I was flat, and ugly.....like...a.....boy!" I said exploding into sob, my body shaking with the force of them. The school, and all the teachers know about my condition, and support me.

"Oh sweetie, she's just being mean." She said putting a large but surprisingly soft paw on my knee. "I'll let you in on a little secret." She said standing up, and taking my paw, tugging it. I got up and followed her into her office, and there, against the wall was a large full body mirror. I didn't hate mirrors, I tolerated them. "Now, look in the mirror, and tell me what you see." She said standing next to me.

"I see." I paused looking in the mirror. I saw my self, both parts of me. The inner and the outer, the good, and bad, the divine, and the wretched. The two hidden behind a mask that everyone saw. The real me, the true, and the pure, what I wanted to be,a female, perfection. The other, the outside, the wretched, and impure, my male body. "I see an ugly male body, something I should have, something I shouldn't be stuck in." I said looking over the thing I called a body.

"Ok, well let me tell you what I see." She said walking in between me and the mirror, and kneeled down. "I see." She said stopping and putting her paws on my shoulders, and smiled warmly. "One of the cutest, and sweetest little girls. Not to mention a strong willed little one." She said purring and pulling me into a hug.

"Th....thank you." I whimpered out as we hugged. "Is....it really true?" I asked tilting my head a little as she pulled back and smiled at me.

"Yes, one hundred percent." She said as she reached for a tissue on her desk, and gently dabbed the tears from my cheek fur. "Now, lets get you out of here, your friends are waiting and we don't want to get snowed in the school." She said smiling and standing up. "I don't know about you, but I want to go home, and curl up in front of the fire place and read." she said as we walked out of her office, and I went and got my clothes. We left the locker room and the she locked the door behind her.

"Are you ok?" Rachel asked putting her hand on my shoulder.

"I am now." I said, managing a smile as we made for our lockers. "Lets all meet at my locker." I said as we split off, and I kept heading to the front to get to my locker. I stood there and turned the knob to open the metal door and shuffled around, tossing in the bag of gym clothes, and grabbed my messenger bag, and jacket. It was right about then Alex and Amy came up.

"Hay Shanoa, are you coming home with us, or with some of your friends.?" Alex asked.

"I think that me, Emile, and Rachel are going to one of there houses." I said putting on my jacket.

"All right, what ever you do, just be care full. Try to get home before it gets dark." He said smiling and looking out the window.

"I will." I said turning to look out the window, seeing that it had started snowing. It wasn't a lot at the moment, but it was going to pick up.

"Well, we're going to go on to the house, before it gets to bad." Amy said as the two headed out the door. Emile and Rachel walking up.

"So Shanoa, we're we heading?" Emile asked.

"Well my house is closet." Rachel said as we all walked out and started the walk to Rachel's house.

"You got snakes, and hot coco? Right?" I asked as we walked down the street, and soon turning off the beaten path, cutting through the woods.

"You better believe it." She said smiling and giggling a bit. The walk through the woods was short. The trees where slowly be coming covered in snow, as it picked up. The flakes going from small, to large and fluffy. We came out of the woods right behind her house and made for the back door. Our foot prints, the only proof that we where here soon covered by the falling snow as we went into the house. Thankfully it was nice and warm on the inside.

"So what's first, food, TV, or games?" Emile asked as we took off our shoes and jackets.

"Food." I said smiling and pointing to the kitchen as I walked to it, and looked for the coco. Soon finding it and starting to make some for the three of us.

"Sounds good to me." Rachel said as she and Emile went to the fridge and started shuffling around in it, gathering the stuff to make some sandwiches.

"You know I don't like onion on mine." I said as I set the mugs on the table, one for each of us.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know miss picky. There the best part." Rachel said giggling and rolling her eyes as she handed me my plate, and set her's down, Emile soon joining us at the table. We all sat around talking and having our snack, and disputing the end of the soccer game. How we didn't end up tossing little marshmallows at one another is a mystery to me.

"Hay do you two hear that?" Emile said looking to the screen door, her ears swiveling to pick up the sounds. Mine and Rachel's doing the same. "Hay your brother is out there, and there's a snow ball fight going on." She said getting up and walking to the door that faced out to the cul-de-sac.

"Yeah, him, your sister, and Red." Rachel said getting up and going to join Emile at the door.

"Really, who's winning?" I asked getting out of my seat and joining the other two, smiling as a sneaky thought came to mind. "What do you say we get the jump on them, they'll never see it coming." I said smiling and turning to them.

"Oooooh you have something planned don't you?" Rachel asked, her tail lashing about happily.

"It's easy. We go out the back door, and split up. I'll go up around the right side of the house, and rush them, you two go up around the left side of the house and get them while there focused on me." I said smiling as we walked to the back door and started getting dressed in our shoes and jackets.

"All right lets hit them, and hard." Rachel said giggling as we went out side and took our spots. I smiled as I turned to them and nodded out my one, two, three count, and took off. Grabbing a handful of snow as I went around the corner, and once I got close enough, I let my snowball fly with a yell. That was the single to the others to come running and throwing. My first throw nailed Alex, I didn't have time to see who Rachel and Emile hit. The snowball fight, got fierce fast, the cul-de-sac turning into a battle field. Balls of frosty doom flying at whom ever, no real aim or teams, just everyone for themselves. By the end of the battle we where all wet, and shivering cold. Emile left for her house, I went back to Rachel's house to get my stuff, and then back home with Rachel in tow.

"Hello Rachel, Shanoa." Mary said as we walked into the house. "Shanoa, I need to talk to you." Mary said as Rachel walked into the living room and joined Red, and my brother and sister.

"Ok, let me change into something dry." I said as I went up stairs, and to my room. I walked over to the bed, where I had left my night clothes, and grabbed them, and a clean pair of panties. I was in my bathroom, just starting to get the things together for a shower, when I herd a knocking on the door. "I'm in here." I said as I peeled off my stockings

"It me, can I come in." Mary asked as I walked over to the door and unlocked it, letting her in. She came in and put the toilet led down and sat on it. "Sweetie, the gym teacher called, and told me what happened." She said with a slightly grim look. "I just want to make sure that if there is anything that you need to talk about, I'm here, and there teachers at school." She said smiling, I let out a small sigh as I kept getting ready for a shower. "You know Mandy is all ways around if you need her."

"I know, she told me, and helped me feel better after all that happened." I said as I sat on the edge of the tub, whimpering to myself as I felt the cold plastic on my damp butt fur. "I do have something I want to talk about." I said looking down, watching my paws fidgeting a bit. "Do you know what Jessica said to me? Did Ms. Mandy tell you?" I asked with a quiet voice.

"No, she just said that you had a small disagreement with Jessica." She said reaching out to put her paw on my knee. "And remember, you can tell me anything."

"Ok." I said still looking down at my paws. "She said that I was flat, and ugly....like a....boy." I said, the tears starting run down my check, I was managing to keep from busting out into sobs. "Will......will I ever be like my sis? Will I ever have breasts? Will I ever be able to have what she has?" I asked, my voice shaking as I spoke. "I don't want to be like this the rest of my life." I said chocking back a sob.

"Oh sweetie." She said pulling you into a hug, and holding me there. "You will, you'll grow breasts and everything. You will be right one day." She said softly rubbing my back. "It will take a long time, but you well be just right one day." She said finally breaking the hug.

"I will?" I asked, my eyes wide and my mind racing with thoughts of being like my sister, and making Jessica sorry she was mean to me.

"Yeah. I was going to surprise you with it, but I got you an appointment with a special doctor that helps people with your condition." She said smiling and standing up. "It looks like I wont have to keep you out of school for it." She said looking out the window, seeing the other houses covered in snow. "Well, you take your shower, and come play with your friends." She said walking out the room and closing the door behind her, I went over to lock it.

I set about finishing getting ready for my shower. Sliding out of my shirt, then my skirt, lastly my panties. I stood at the edge of the tub and gave a little shake, effectively fluffing myself. I leaned over and turned the knobs for the hot water, letting it run a bit to get hot, and then fiddling a bit with the cold water tap. Not really having to do a lot with it considering I liked my showers good and hot, that was evident by the steam that was feeling the bathroom. I stepped in and pulled the curtain to and turned the switch to push the water through the shower head. The hot water surged out, and began washing over me, warming my chilled body. After warming up a bit I leaned my head under the water, letting it wet my hair. I reached for my shampoo and spurted some in my hand and set about washing, and rinsing my hair. I followed that up with washing the rest of my body. After I finished I stepped out and set about drying my fur, with fur as plush and thick as mine, it is a task. After finally getting as dry as I could I set about dressing, slipping into some panties, and then my T-shirt, and my pajama bottoms. I gathered up my dirty clothes and tossed them in the hamper, and grabbed my brush as I left and headed to the living room

"That only took you forever." Rachel said from the sofa, as I came around the corner, and took my seat next to her.

"Well, being this pretty takes a lot of work." I said smiling and poking my tongue out at her.

"You haven't missed anything. Just your brother and his friend, being competitive." Amy said pointing to Alex, and Red going at it in some game.

"Who's winning?" I asked tilting my head a bit as I brushed my hair, working out the knots.

"Oh who knows. One moment, Alex says he is the next Red is gloating." Rachel said rolling her eyes.

"I'm winning, Alex doesn't have a chance against me." Red said, his tail wagging fast. Red, is a German shepherd, what little that I have been around him I have enjoyed it. Its cute, sweet, and strong. Such nice looking fur, happy and loud, the deep green eyes that shimmer in the light, strong arms I could snuggle into.

"Yeah, says the one that lost the last two games." Alex said loudly. His loud voice snapping me out of my thoughts, I felt myself blushing.

"Shanoa, were you thinking about Red?" Rachel asked leaning in and whispering to me. I blushed darker at this point. "You were, weren't you?" She said giggling a bit, I looked up to see Amy smiling to.

"No, that's not it, your both crazy, that's all." I said trying to hide my blush, as I set out to brush my tail.

"All right now, if there is anything I have learnt living with two sisters, is that when girls are whispering, something bad is about to happen." Red said pausing the game and turning to face the three of us on the sofa.

"No, your just crazy like them." I said blushing, and attempting to hide behind my tail, sadly failing at it.

"Yeah, you three aren't planning something. I mean three against two isn't fair." Alex said turning to face us.

"Oh, we're not planning anything but we are talking about one of you." Rachel said smiling, and snickering. I was at the point of trying to hide in the sofa.

"Well, I don't want to be mean, but Rachel your not my type." Red said smiling, and then glancing at me. I hoped to the Goddess that I wasn't blushing but I had that nagging feeling that I was.

"Really now, what is your type." Amy chimed in. I let out a mental sigh.

"Well. That's a tough one." He said smiling and bring a finger up to tap his muzzle as he thought. "Well, they would have to be nice, a bit shy, like to be creative, and blond." He said smiling and nodding his head. "Kinda like Alex's sister."

"Wait, witch one of us?" I asked looking over at Amy.

"Yeah. Shanoa seems to fit your description, but I'm the blond one." Amy said tilting her head. It was times like this I was glade that I kept my hair dyed brown.

"Well. If I had to pick one of you two I would have to say Shanoa." He said looking over to me. All I could do is go wide eyed and blush.

"Wait me?" I asked stunned. "Are you for real?"

"Yeah. I mean you are cute and all, I would love a chance to hang out sometime or something." He said smiling, a cascade of ooohs and ahhhhs coming from the other girls in the room.

"You know, she's not as nice as she seems. She just acts nice." Alex said rolling his eyes and turning back to his game.

"Shut up you, that's not true." I said taking the pillow next to me and throwing it at his head. "I'm only mean to you." I said putting a hand on my hip.

"Well that's normal, my sisters call it sibling rivalry." Red said turning back and the two getting back to there game.

"So Red, you wanna hang out tomorrow afternoon?" I asked tilting my head a bit.

"Sure. I'll give you my number after I beat your brother." He said smiling and soon doing just that.

We all sat around playing games and talking. We all had a blast, staying up late into the night. I remember dozing off on Rachel's shoulder, and her waking me up. We toddled off to my room, and collapsed on my bed. I was used to sharing my bed with Rachel or Emile when they stayed the night. After that I have no idea how long Red and Alex stayed up, Amy was the first off to bed like all ways. I was amazed that I could sleep that night, there were a few time I had woke up and looked at the paper that was on my table, the one that had Red's number, and the thoughts of the special doctor. I don't think I even dreamed that night.
