Demetrius didn't register what happened until he blinked several times and look at Kevin pressing his lips to his. Kevin was huffing into the kiss through his nose, his heart was pounding so hard that the pulse in Kevin's lips were pressed so hard against Demetrius' that the Husky could feel it through his own. For once in a long time, Demetrius finally got the right reaction out of Kevin that it sent flutters through his stomach like the night they made love. Kevin never kissed him like this before except on that night they made love. Never wrapped his arms around the Husky's neck like that night. Never felt loved until now.

But now it was all becoming reality and Demetrius couldn't help but smile like an idiot as he finally responded his lips to move with Kevin's. He could feel Kevin's tongue grazing his own lightly, which sent static shocks up his spine.

Kevin pulled back slowly, afterward, short saliva strings connecting their lips until it stretched itself far enough to break, "I'm sorry," Kevin choked out harshly but couldn't finish soon enough before Demetrius shushed him.

"Don't talk like that," Demetrius was about to bring his hands up to touch the Human's face as to comfort him, to wrap him into his arms and tell him that it was okay and that he forgives him. But he never got the chance to do so.

"No!" His arm was jerked back into its place on the table, a searing white pain rose from his wrist and shot up his arm and into his chest like a flare gun being fired into darkness, spreading its light fast enough like it was a disease.

Demetrius' expression retorted and changed immediately, roaring out his pain in a loud cry. And that's when his eyes noticed the world around him. He was in the Separatism room with Dr. Marshal performing the Ritual. Gavin, the hopeful big eyed Racoon, stood behind Dr. Marshal just a few feet back, his curious eyes now wandering the cause of the scream and shocked as he stared at the source. Demetrius' arm felt different now, it was as if a cold shivering sensation was slowly building up his arm, pain following its path like millions of ice cold needles being driven in every inch of his skin. Kevin looked now, at the reason why the Husky cried in pain and immediately stepped back with a sob escaping his lips. Demetrius finally let his gaze follow Kevin's.

"You mustn't move," Dr. Marshal said as Demetrius became shocked and aware of the yellow spiked snake, its teeth embedded into his wrist like a leech sticking to skin. "The process has begun, if we pull out now the venom will quicken its pace. Let's lie you down on the table slowly, afterward, you must remain very, very still."

Once Dr. Marshal helped the Husky slowly lie down, Demetrius' first instinct was to move. He wanted to just get up, tear the snake away from him and just run, to forget about this whole thing. But he knew the consequence now. And there was no way of getting out of it. He was trapped.

Kevin backed off, feeling as if he was hit by a horse. His body froze, his gaze locked onto the body in front of him, "Demetri..." He choked out before a sob escaped. But he couldn't get a chance to go to him before he was pulled back by a Racoon.

"You have to go; we can't stay in here at this point of the process." And Kevin was pulled out of the room, Demetrius fading into the darkness before a door separated his look at the helpless, screaming Husky. Kevin felt horrible.

"Well, look at it this way," A low, seductive female voice lightly rumbled the rooms silence, making Kevin intake a gasp before turning to face the girl from the other night. But before he could speak, he was stopped by an immediate burning sensation in his stomach. Looking down, all he saw was a knife jabbed deep into his flesh, blood spilling out of the wound and staining his shirt in red, "At least you're not a virgin anymore."

"You'll meet her when the time is right!?" Krystella wasn't impressed, Humphrey could clearly tell by how her reaction to his response to her mother that she'll meet Demetrius' fiancée was. Martha seemed to be excited, though with the description of 'girl' Humphrey had a very good hunch that the mother Husky never knew the whole story of the 'girl' actually being a male. A human male. Krystella and King Alexander were back in their private chambers, discussing the problem they have now, "Are you not thinking straight? My mother is going to expect Demetrius marrying a female, not a human boy!"

King Alexander just stood on the spot while his wife paced in front of him. His expression was hard as his gaze focused more on the carpet than on his wife. Everything, including his plan, was now in action, all he had to do was wait on Demetrius to walk through the front gates-without the human boy-and say hello to his mother. Although, now that his mother knew he was engaged, the King would have to explain that the marriage is off. The only problem was the boy.

If the Assassin, Flare, was correct and he fell into denial, then he would call off their set up marriage and leave Demetrius. But if he were to change his mind then Flare's contingency plan would then set in. And that would be to get rid of the boy for good. All the King had to do was wait and find out the results. "Krystella please, you have to trust on this." The King still looked calm, but Humphrey had to admit himself he was getting nervous. Krystella's mother wasn't the type to fool, call it a mother's intuition if you must.

Krystella sighed, finally stopping and taking a seat on the bed. Humphrey just remained where he was and stood still as if he were a statue in the room. "Alexander," Krystella started but she had to take in another breath so she could calm herself, she never had been this stressed in ages. Humphrey seen this side of her a couple times though when the King wasn't there with them, and Humphrey knew she would request a hot bath soon so she could relax and was her worries away, "You said Demetrius would be here soon, where has he gone to in such a hurry?"

The question was directed to the Rat, who clued in immediately after the question was asked, "He said nothing, Madam, though the Human seemed to have followed his tracks soon after. I overheard two guards having a conversation about the two earlier."

That made the King twitch. If the boy ran after Demetrius than that meant the Assassin's plan was taking a turn for the worse. Humphrey had to admit he wasn't surprised, "What are we going to do about the boy?" Krystella said afterward, burying her face into her hands, her brown hair flowing down from her shoulders and hanging in front of her face. The ruby red dress she wore around her hour glass body made her look perfect to the King, but when she got to this point of stress, King Alexander became irritated.

"The boy will be dealt with, soon, he won't interfere in our plan. I assure you, my dear." King Alexander finally moved to reach the door, grabbing the doorknob, "In the meantime, let's just get ourselves ready for dinner. We'll worry about this whole thing afterwards." Closing the door behind him, the King was gone.

Krystella just sighed and looked up at Humphrey, her eyes tired and exhausted, which told him one thing. "I'll go start the water, Madam." He moved to head to the bath chamber in the private quarters until he was interrupted by the Queen, "Humphrey," she said, her voice soft and tired.

"Yes, Madam?" He stood straight and turned to face her but not to look her in the eyes.

"Thank you." She said quietly, "For everything you've done for the King and I."

Humphrey nodded in response and turned, a smile quirking on the side of his mouth. The bathroom was large and clearly made out of granite rock. Humphrey took out the candles and lite them each quietly, casting the bathroom in a dark yellow glow that made the mood immediately change to a sleepy relaxed era. Water was already in the fireplace on the other side of the bathroom so it could already be heated for when either the King and Queen wanted to use it, Humphrey has been through this process enough that he knew that the Queen loved her baths. He's been with them both long enough that he has grown to feel like a guardian angel for them both-mainly the King though.

Pouring the water into the wooden tub, Humphrey felt his back ache. He was getting old, he knew that, but he would never let that get in his way. If he had to run across Arella for a King's request, he would. No matter what condition he would be in.

He grabbed another bucket of steaming water when Krystella walked in. He glanced at her for a minute, and nearly choked up from the sight. The Queen was in her robe, but at the glance he made at her she was already taking it off. Now his brain was in confusion on what he was doing, why did he have the water again?

God, she is your Queen man, get a hold of yourself! He thought, pouring the water into the tub and placing it down next to the tub. He backed a few feet, not looking at her, and let her slip into the tub. She sighed beautifully and closed her eyes, which was probably Humphrey's cue to leave now before he's accused of peeping at the Queen. The King would have his head if that were to happen.

"Lord Damien," A familiar voice brought Damien out of his thought of Kevin and Demetrius, how long has he been standing here? "Your duty has been over with a half hour ago." Harris, a short and skinny Fox, looked up at Damien with curious eyes. Harris wasn't usually the knight and shining armour type, but the way he looked shocked Damien a bit. Damien usually thought he was weak, but he maintained his looks, surprisingly.

"Uh, yes," Damien shook his head and looked around him. He was in the market place in the Kingdom. How did he manage to walk here?

I have to stop thinking to myself... He thought, rubbing his eyes a little before taking in a long breath, "Alright, I'll leave you to your duty. Sorry for not reporting back, Harris."

The Fox smiled brightly and waved his apology off, "No worries, Lord Damien."

Damien walked past Harris after putting a hand on his shoulder. How did he manage to let himself drift into thought and slack off. An Elite guard was supposed to be on his ball, not get distracted by one simple thing such as Demetrius going to get a divorce from Kevin. Damien had to admit, he knew Demetrius was in love with the boy by the looks he was giving him. Damien always had those looks, so he did the right thing in getting Kevin to go after the Husky.

Being Elite Guard was tough though, he wasn't allowed to have one single relationship or any sort of contact of love, including sex. The Tiger groaned at the thought. Sex was part of a male's lifestyle, it's what got him excited and happy all the time, now that advantage was stripped from his life. The very thought about sex was already arousing him, that's how bad this was getting to him. Flare used to be his friend-and special friend-now he couldn't even look at her because he would get turned on.

It was hard for Damien anyway if he would just not think about it. Damien accepted the fact that he found an attraction to both sexes and he rather enjoyed that life he used to have, now he couldn't look at anyone that way again. It was against his position. All he wants is someone to hold, or for someone to hold him. To find that love he used to have with Demetrius. All he wants is that special someone.

Damien stopped and sighed, trying to calm his hormones for just a few minutes so he won't feel like how he was a second ago. He had to get his mind off things.

"Assassin!" Someone shrieked from around the corner of a bakery, then a handful of shouting followed afterward.

Assassin? Damien thought, pushing his legs into a sprint and turning the corner to run straight into crowd of Anthro's piling in front a den. Damien caught a glimpse of someone turning the corner on the other side of the crowd, but he never caught the face. Damien called back at Harris to circle around for the Assassin, he nodded and disappeared around another corner.

Now he had to deal with the Assassin's dirty work. He had to go to the body and see if there was a witness. He hated this part, he wasn't usually the type to do the investigating. Pushing past the crowd, Damien entered the den and felt his heart drop at the body.

"Kevin..." He whispered, rushing to the boy and kneeling down to see a Racoon cradling his head into his lap.

"What happened?" Damien asked, his voice harsh and demanding.

The Racoon boy quivered in fear, showing Damien that he feared the bigger Tiger, "There was an Assassin," He said silently, "S-she came out of nowhere."

Damien reached down and touched Kevin's wrist, waited a few seconds and growled loudly in frustration.

His heartbeat was slowing down. Fast. Kevin's eyes were closed, which meant he was unconscious.

"Demetrius..." Damien whispered out loud, realising where he was. "Where's Demetrius?" The boy quivered again and pointed at the door in front of them. Damien immediately got and pushed through, seeing Dr. Marshal standing over the Husky's body on the table.

"What happened?" Damien asked, still keeping his voice strong.

"He's... in a coma..." Dr. Marshal replied, looking up at Damien slowly with an expression of hurt and pain.

With the sound of a five second ringing, Kevin Justice woke up with a gasp that sent his body upward. He was in shock now, his body felt like it was ripping from the inside and he didn't know why. He looked around quickly to find himself lying in his bed, in his room.

In his world.

"Demetrius...?" He called out but received no answer, which sent a chill of worry through his stomach. What happened? He was at the Separatism Ritual a few seconds ago and now he was in his room. Alone.

Kevin gasped and looked at his wrist. The cut was gone... there wasn't even a sign of a scar there anymore. Kevin felt like his mind came to a conclusion that he thought he would never have to think...

Was it all a dream...?
