Aww, shit. Why did this new boy have to be so...good? I thought I'd hit a break when he had found a friend and took her to his dorm to study. I sat outside his room for two hours and all they did was actually study. No sex or anything. How disappointing. It'd almost been a week now and he hadn't done anything than knock some girl's books down by accident. He'd helped pick them up, even--that kind prick. "Fuck!" I grunted, sitting in my dormitory. "No one is that perfect. It's like you're trying your best to be normal. I'll find you out." I spoke to my wall, throwing a light green rubber ball against the plaster and catching it. He hadn't even left the grounds ye; he washed his clothes here, got food, showered in the dorms. Didn't even have a girlfriend-he didn't stare at guys, though, so that eliminated the muddy possibility that he was gay. But he had condoms, so he had to be interested in some gender. That eliminated eunuch-a normal college boy, away from family and most authority would be going crazy in a co-ed dorm.

He wasn't; this led me to believe that he is not normal. This, consequently, made me wonder what about him was abnormal. Nothing, other than the skylight covering, his eyes, and the fact that he was so, so excruciatingly normal. This turned into a sort of infinite loop, drawing my mind deep within its infinite folds. My open Microsoft Word document remained blank, plain, and white. I didn't have enough information to make a witty introduction, even. Fuck. "My poor Nikon. You haven't gotten any dirt lately." I cooed sympathetically to my camera, perking up when I heard a muffled click from outside. It was eight at night; he didn't have any classes this late-where was he going? 'It's probably Jacob from next door going to the bathroom or something. Ignore it.' My mind told me, but I moved anyway. 'No! You're not going to deprive yourself of sleep again for something that's probably not even him!' I couldn't help it; I opened my door and peeked my head out into the hall, seeing his giant form walking towards the exit. 'My mistake.'

I tore my Nikon from its charger and bolted from the dorms, breath puffing out between my red lips. 'Off campus? How interesting.' I thought as he walked towards the front driveway of the university and began to pad off into the night. It was nearly winter, what was wrong with this boy? It was freezing! I followed dutifully, making sure to stay far enough behind him so that he wouldn't realize I was following. "Where are you going?" I whispered to myself, the boy stopping for a moment then continuing to walk. 'It's getting dark out.' My mind reminded me and I shook my head, watching as he turned towards a bar. A bar? How wonderful. I raised my camera and got ready to snap a picture, though he didn't go into it. He instead turned down an alleyway next to the bar. 'Drugs?' Even better! I followed excitedly, running across the street as my breath puffed out into cigarette-like plumes of white. I clutched my camera, back pressed to the rough brick of the place like I was some secret agent about to turn into the alley and shoot a crackshot into the bad guy's forehead. I swiveled into the alleyway, raising my camera to my eye. Where'd he go?! I followed curiously, seeing another corner that led behind the bar, making an L-shaped corner that would no doubt emerge into the street at both ends. I took a deep breath, extending my neck into the alleyway and seeing his massive form walking down it. I looked down at my camera, changing it to a nighttime setting with a gentle beep. I was ready.

Clunk. I yelped, thinking I'd hit my Nikon on some brick wall I hadn't seen. A cloth wall. My eyes flicked upwards nervously and I was face-to-face with him. I took a cautious step back though he followed, my hands starting to shake. I was about to speak, my eyes twitching around like they had Tourette's. Jesus! He was so big! I could see the carved muscle whenever the wind blew against his shirt, his yellow eyes drilling holes in me. Perhaps it was a hallucination, but I could've sworn they were glowing. This boy was strange, and for a moment I considered that I'd gotten in over my head, though my thoughts were interrupted by a voice, deep, rough and snarling.

"What the hell if your problem?!" He demanded, his upper lip twitching. I noted mentally that I could see his incisors and they were thick, pearly, and quite long. I felt his hands close around my camera, my eyes flicking down to see the massive man paws closing around the thing like it was nothing. The flat, back end of the camera slammed into my collarbone and took me to the brick wall, my lungs expulsing all air they held out through my lips. "Are you trying to ruin my new left here? Huh? Follow me around and see what you can dig up about me?" He continued, and my mind flicked irrationally to once again how big his hands were. "What, cat gotcha tongue?" He growled, and I once again made a note that he was most certainly Canadian-judging by his accent, French Canadian. "Hmmm?"

"I..." I stuttered, my voice cracking. He was intimidating, and I was offset by his strange, attractively dominating pose as he leaned over me, and the way that he smelled. For Christ's sake, I needed to get laid. "I..I was..." Think! I made the worst mistake that a good journalist would never do, but it's not like I could help it. "I..I'm just..." I began, putting on my best flustered face. It wasn't that hard-I was feeling quite...intimidated. "I was just attracted to you, and...well...I wanted to know if you had a girlfriend or not?" I said with a small smile, hoping he'd guy it. 'Not that you're up close, he's actually pretty hot~' My mind cooed with a little giggle. I had a bad habit of thinking clearly in bad situations and getting distracted by it.

"Bullshit. Just leave me alone, okay?" He snarled, turning around on a heel. He began to walk away again, boots crunching on the gravel. I bit my lip, needing to get suspicion off of me however I could. I nearly tripped over myself as I dove after his receeding form.

"W...Wait! Seriously!" I called, reaching out an arm. "Seriously, please! D...Do you?" I asked, biting my lip. He stopped, eyes narrow. "I'm not joking, Sam!" I called, folding my arms.

"How do you know my name?" He asked with a raised eyebrow and I shook my head, motioning with my hand.

"I'm persistent. Well, do you?"

"No, I don't." He grumbled, still facing away from me out towards the street. "But that doesn't mean that I want to go out with you." He added, making me cringe. Ouch, a blow to my self-esteem.

"You really know how to make a girl feel great. How about a date, please? Just one. Maybe tomorrow? Just lunch or something." I asked, feeling horrible with all of this begging.

"Leave your camera t the dorm and I'll be there." He said, obviously testing me. Leave my camera home? I was a reporter, for Christ's sake!

"Fine. I'll be there." I said. "Without a camera."
