#25 of Wasteland Survivor

I woke groggily, expecting my mind to be smashed from a hangover, surprisingly it was clear. Then the action of the previous night rolled back into my mind and I stretched that mind out, feeling Drathnial at my back and Brathnian laying twined and remarkably, still joined with him. Their patterns, his black on dark dark blue, and her blood red, complemented each other quite well.

"Hrmm, your awake at last, I was starting to get a cramp laying here waiting for you." Crystal, wrapped in my arms still, said softly.

"You..." I blushed.

"Yeah, seems we all fit together quite well, I could feel them too, feel you. It was... yeah, can't describe the feeling of not just being with the one I love so much, but being a part of her and a part of those two as well." She said breathlessly. "Also I have to say he has some stamina." My blush intensified.

The two dragons began to rouse as well, ~"My mates, that was a wonderful night and, ugh"~ He had begun to move, and in doing so planting himself more firmly in Brathnian.

She roused more fully as the pleasure poured through her. Crystal was suddenly very active in my arms, it was obviously still having an effect on her, myself too for that matter. I let out a little moan, feeling Drath ease out and back into his mate.

We finally managed to draw ourselves apart within an hour, Crystal and I dived for a shower, Drath and Brath took to the sky to find themselves some breakfast.

"Quite the pair aren't they?" I said, slipping into the shower with Crystal.

She replied by pressing her chest against me, "Ain't they just, thanks!" The giggling this precipitated lasting all the way through the shower and halfway to getting breakfast, we had dug some clothes out of our flat and were first to the mess for the morning.

"Nothing for it love, we need to get the fires going and cook this pack some food!" I said full of zest.

"Mmm Hmm, first order, coffee, for those who partook of beverages last night." She replied, and as the big furnace started to heat up for the morning, we made up a huge pot of porridge.

"So what about us, I mean you and me, now?" I asked her nervously, it was the question I had dreaded asking, but one thing I would never back down from is my fears, not after Crystal showed me what it meant to stand strong.

"Well, I love you, and I think you still love me. Drath, well I like Drath now, a lot, and Brathnian, well she is pretty awesome too." She replied, taking stock of her feelings, "How about you? What are your thoughts?"

I stopped and reached into my feelings, "I love you, more than words or life, I love you. Drathnial, well, that got a bit more complicated, but I love him the same now." I looked up at her, fearing to see shock or outrage that I could admit such a thing. I met her eyes and suddenly we were hugging.

"He does have a cute butt, for a dragon I guess." She said. We both broke into a laugh.

"Brath, she... she fills a part in my life I didn't know was missing till she was there. And she is here" I pressed hard on my chest, over my heart, "here forever now, I don't know how or why, but I can't dream of spending a day without her there now." Again I looked up to my first loves face and saw not just acceptance of it, but acceptance of me and all I am. I couldn't help it, I broke into tears.

It took a good ten minutes of crying to get it all out, the last few days had wrecked me emotionally, I hadn't realised how much I was wound up about Drath until it had all resolved and I told Crystal.

"No matter what, Fox, never stop loving. Its what I love about you." She told me, after my eyes were dry. I almost lost it again when a voice spoke up.

"Hey is this a free show or are we going to have to pay admission?" It was Private Ashfield.

"Damn it, now you startled them. Morning ladies." Private O'Brian piped from beside Ashfield, "Mmmm what's for breakfast?"

Crystal just shook her head, I managed a resigned "Men!" under my breath. We hauled out the porridge for Ashfield but had to cook a special meal up for O'Brian, his species, the Tasmanian Tiger, was unfortunately a meat-only predator.

We had his steak cooked rare as hell, just as he liked it, in short order, just as more started pouring in, we worked as fast as we could, Ashfield and O'Brian, once finished, came around to help us.

"So, I hear you had a bit of a dust-up with those elves?" I asked Ashfield during a short respite.

"Yeah, things went pear shaped right from the start, the Captain, uh Captain Nicols that is, kept it all under control, even standing toe to toe with their elven Goddess.

My eyes must have showed how little I believed the story.

"No really." O'Brian piped in, "She was all like 'raar puny mortals' when that little fox guy, uh Ryst, Bri's new boyfriend, shielded Nicols somehow from most of the bitches magic. Then he, the Captain that is, called down his storm, and lo and behold, a God stepped out of it, commending the Captain and told him to get us all out there while he held off the Goddess. It was amazing."

My eyes were as wide as saucers.

Crystal sighed, getting my attention, "Its all true Fox, happened just as he told it, unbelievable as it sounds. The Captain was just waiting for your return to try contacting the god again, seems he was invited to, but wanted a little backup if things got sour."

I laughed out loud, "Ok, so your saying he is going to call down a god and have a little chat, and if the god gets out of hand he wants me to try and fight it." I lost it, laughing, collapsing on the ground in a heap.

-

I looked around, Fox was standing there, a huge grin on her muzzle. Both dragons were present and made an imposing sight. I had all the soldiers that were present 'that' day, including 'the pack'.

It was go time.

I raised my power, letting the beast have me, fully this time. There was no enemies here, this was a calm time, the beast was, likewise, calm within me.

I began summoning the thunderheads, calling power to them, raising the potential of the air, crackles of light arced between anything metal, but no matter if they did, they never harmed a single hair on any present.

"Quite a show lad, its pretty amazing how much you carry in you." A voice said conversationally from beside me, He was here. Standing about six foot two, he was a greying older man, rather nondescript but you could just feel... godness, flowing off him.

"You asked me to call to you again, so I am. Thank you for protecting our retreat, your action likely saved many of our lives but also a young lady from a life she would rather not lead." I said to him, keeping it as formal as I could.

"Lad, relax, let the power go, now you have given me a focus here, you don't need to maintain it. I came because you carry the power of one of my priests, the power of the thane. Not for a long time, maybe not ever, have I seen one with as much raw power as this though. With a bit of training, it will become even more again. As for your thanks, they are welcome, I have not had a single worshipper for a long long time. Maybe a little shrine or two would be a nice addition to this place." He said. "I can feel in your heart, you don't hold sway with gods, you don't want to be coddled like those elves are, you want to be your own man, god of your own destiny."

I nodded to him, "Yes, that sums it up."

The whole place was dead silent, this was blasphemy, and not the old school 'saying something wrong in front of mother superior', I was saying this in the face of a god.

Suddenly, he broke into a grin, "Good, I would hate to have wimpy followers, or followers at all really. A god who needs to be told every day that he is so great is an insecure god indeed. Your strong, you stood your ground to a goddess and didn't waver, your people here all have a fire in their souls, a fire that grows stronger the more such fires are close to each other. Yes, I would be proud to be a God to you lot. Now, chop chop, make with a shrine or two." Our jaws were all on the floor, this being, this God, was proud to know us?

I broke into a feral grin. "One thing first, I couldn't build a shrine, even a small one, to any god who couldn't beat this little girl in an arm wrestle." I grabbed Fox by the collar, pushing her forward.

"Hrmm, a deal then!" He proclaimed loudly.

The ground started to shake, a rumbling that nearly took our feet out from under us, suddenly the ground in front of Fox broke and a small stone pillar broke free of the soils embrace.

To her credit, Fox started showing off for the crowd, tearing the sleeves off her shirt, flexing the muscles in her arms and shoulder.

"Oh an old man like me is going to have issue with this, she is a monster!" The god said.

Fox just laughed, "Its ok old man, I will go easy on you!" And she kneeled down opposite the God, resting her elbow on the table and caught her hand in his.

Somehow Lylianna had insinuated herself as their referee, putting a single finger of her paw on their clenched fist and proclaimed loudly, "Best two out of three. Ready! Set! FIGHT!"

At first, their arms moved back and fourth, hovering around the mid point, Fox grinned maniacally and I saw her muscles tense as she started to push her power into the contest. To his credit the God, Thorista, kept his own, then grinned himself and started pushing back Foxes fist.

Fox gripped the table edge with her free hand and a soft glow started from her eyes, she managed to pull the combined grip back to the middle of the table.

"That all you got old man? Come on, this is a fight!" She crowed.

He simply said, "Oh, have we started?" And pushed her hand down to the rock.

People were cheering the God, making much of him.

"STOP!" A yell issued from fox. "Its best two out of three." She said back into the silence that had formed.

"Girl, I am one of the old gods of this world, some knew me as Thor, others before that worshipped me as Zeus. You want to take on this arm?" He said, brandishing his right arm again.

"Rules is rules, even for a god." She said back, grinning like a fiend.

The God laughed, "That they are, very well, another round."

The two combatants drew off again, Fox bracing herself, ready to give it whatever she could, the God looking casual almost.

"Ok, round two! Ready! Set! FIGHT!" This time the god leaned on her arm right from the start, and Fox worked hard to maintain the fight.

Suddenly, her eyes glowed brighter and brighter, the glow pouring down her arms, the right of which was pushing the god backwards. He had to grip the table and really lean against her, only putting in a great effort did he manage eventually to bump Foxes fist to the table, and when it hit a small shock wave rolled off from the top of the table.

The God stood quickly and reached to the downcast Fox, giving her a lift to stand, "Girl, no being has ever tested my strength that much, not mortal, not god. Carry yourself proud always. Well done."

And with that, he turned and walked away, somehow fading as he turned, to disappear completely in about three steps.

Fox laughed a few times then almost fell, so weary she was almost out on her feet.

Hellen was at my side, "Well, I think that went well. He seemed to give the impression that he will jump in and fight with us if we ever get a serious problem with a god again." She seemed happy. I guess finding out you now have a God as a military asset can do that to a commander.

Over the next few days, little stone shrines started appearing, carved thunderbolts and fists adorned them. If you stood at one, and thought about how great it was being free, you could almost feel a sense of power flow out from them.

He did indeed like his little shrines.

Phew, twenty two pages written today. I need to kill some people *runs off to TF2*

And never let it be said, I am slow to update :)

Oh and for some reason the system wouldn't accept M/F/F/F as a gender tag for 'adult' classification, so I threw the F/F in there too. *gone*
