Prologue

I thought that after all the time I've been writing, that I would remake one of my stories, and here it is. This is indeed the remade version of "A Mother love" many of my chapters were different names making everyone ask "Where the next chapter" or "I can't find it!" so since I don't know how to link the story, yes I'm a noob, I'll just remake it with a name that will work which is Brandon Tale

It was raining that night, many of the Fur and Scales of the city were out and about, drinking and partying; this went for a couple known as the Phoenixes. The two had gotten into their car, the male a six foot five fully red dragon with yellow horns pushed backwards and deep black nails. He wore simple clothing that night, a black shirt and deep blue jeans. He wore no shoes because of his claw feet. His wife, or mate as many called their life partners; sat beside him in their car. She was only five feet, a little smaller then a normal female dragon, but she made that up with "other" things. She was as white as the snow on its first fall, her hair was also white as her horns a litter darker; but white all the same. She wore no wings unlike her mate. She closed her blues eyes for a moment as the car sprang to life, making her wake up with a start; causing her mate to chuckle. Her blue dress rustled as she turned her body so she could glare at her husband who only shrugged his shoulders; driving off. As the duo drove off, the white dragoness saw the sight of a father coming home; only to be tackled to the ground by his two children, her mate saw this and brought his eyes back to the road.

"We can always adopt," his wife turned to him as he drive. "If you really want a child, we can always adopt."

"I thought you never wanted to adopt?" asked the dragoness. The two found out years ago, that because of the dragoness size being so rare in some cases, that they could never have a child. This saddened the white dragon, for she always wanted a child of her own. When she had came up with the idea of adopting a child, her mate refused. Saying that it would be hard on both of them when the time came to tell the child that they were not their really parents. With the red dragon saying they should adopt, confused her; but also made her very happy. The reason the red dragon didn't like the idea, was that he himself was adopted. He hated his parents for not telling him sooner; but forgave them after a while.

"I gave it some thought," he answered turning the last turn to their house. "I understand that you wanted a child; a baby most likely. Maybe it would be better to adopt a child a little older, like in the five to seven age group; at least they'll know already that they are not our child by blood, and save us the hassle of telling them." His mate had to agree with him there, though she really wanted a baby. "Tell you what Jenny," he brought a claw hand to her leg and rubbed her causing her to shudder. "Go to the center tomorrow by yourself, and you pick the child. You know I have to work, and I wish to be surprised when I come back!" Jenny looked over and smiled.

"You mean it Mar?" she asked as he nodded. The two kissed as Mar opened to the door and stepped out; Jenny was already at the door as she unlocked it, as the two went in.

Jenny now sat in a chair as she waited to be called. The waiting room of the adoption center wasn't that filled; even though it could hold a small family of twenty. It was only her, and a fox couple. At last her name was called as the one who called her; a blue peacock; pointed to a room where someone would meet her. She thanked the peacock and went into the room, sitting down and waiting once again. The door was left opened as a few children ran by laughing.

"Sorry I'm late!" a golden fur lioness wearing a grey suit walked in with a clipboard in hand. "Been very busy, everyday at this time we get the children ready outside for anyone who wishes to adopt, but as you know it's still muddy out; anyway, good morning Ms. Phoenix, how may I help you today?" they both shook hands as they sat down again.

"Well," answered Jenny. "My husband and I wishes to adopted, though he isn't here at the moment; working today you know?" the lioness nodded as she smiled.

"Any age group you're looking for?"

"Six to seven,"

"And what kind of sex; male or female?" the way she spoke, made Jenny think of this place as a store; maybe this is the one of the other reasons Mar didn't like it here.

"We don't care much, after this I tend to take the child out to take him or her shopping for clothing!" the lioness smiled.

"Good, we like to hear such great things from the soon to be mothers and fathers; now if you'll come with me?" Jenny nodded as the lioness began to walk down the hall. "Since because of last night rainfall, we have to keep the children inside, mind you that it's a little noisy in here!" Jenny only smiled as the lioness opened a set of doors to a large room filled with children. A few were dragons and other scales, while many were fur, almost all were playing; but one.

"Why is that child all alone?" Jenny pointed to the lone child on a chair, playing with what seemed to be a ball. The lioness sudden seemed very sadden.

"That's Brandon," the lioness spoke. "He's been here since he was three, his mother left him here, asking if we could watch him while she went to buy food, we agreed of course; we found out later that she was killed by a gang fight." Jenny gasped at what she heard as the golden fur lioness nodded. "Some of the children make fun of him, because of how...different he is." Jenny titled her head.

"Different?" she asked.

"Brandon is a human." Jenny again gasped. She knew a few humans, but many years ago, when furs and scales had rights just like the human; some banded together and killed many of the fur and scales. This caused great hate between the three toward the humans who didn't do anything; and this child was getting the same thing.

"May I go..." the lioness nodded; knowing what she wanted as Jenny made her way toward the human boy.

The human boy threw the ball in the air, only to catch it on his shoulder as it rolled down his arm to the tip of his fingers, spinning in a clock-like spin.

"That's a nice trick there." The human flinched back away from Jenny, moving so his face was hidden as the ball dropped from his hands. Jenny picked up the ball and held it toward Brandon, who still had his face covered; this time lifting the hood to that he didn't have to use his hands. "It's alright Brandon," she cooed. "I won't hurt you." His head moved a bit so she could see his chin; he grabbed the ball from her claws and shoved it in his pocket. Jenny placed her claw on her side as she saw the empty seat next to him. "May I sit here?" Brandon only nodded; still keeping his face hidden. Jenny sat next to him as he brought out the ball again; rolling it in his hands. "That's a nice ball you have there," she said. "Did your mommy give it to you?" he only nodded. "Do you know what happened to her?" he didn't want to upset him in the wrong way, and was somewhat glad when he nodded. "I'm really sorry," Jenny spoke more softly to the human. "I know a few humans; and what happened to your mother was not right!" Brandon nodded; shifting in his seat. "May I see your face?" the human looked over a bit, she could now only see a bit of his cheeks. She brought her hand up to his hood; he didn't move but nodded after a while as she pulled it down. His skin was the peachy tan that many white human had. His eyes green and black hair cut short. He looked up at her with green eyes for the first time. They just watched each other for a while, until Brandon moved his head away from her, looking back at the ball in his hands. Jenny gave him a small sad look, he must have felt like he was the only human alive now, since Jenny never seen any other humans children or workers around here. She started to play with a red ring she had around her claw finger as Brandon looked over, his eyes locked on the ring. Jenny saw this and moved her claw over so he could see more. He moved away, if as thinking she would hurt him. "It's okay," he told him. "See?" she took off the ring and brought it to the gap between them. "You can hold it if you like." Brandon looked up at her, as if she was playing something on him, but he took the ring none the less.

"T...thank you," he muttered quickly looking the ring over before passing it back to her.

"You must be frighten are you?" asked Jenny as Brandon nodded.

"The...the police men that came to tell me my mommy died...said that it was a gang of dragons that killed her..." he looked away again; Jenny saw where this was going. He was worried that she would be like those other dragons that killed his mother; this grieved her deeply, when a thought came to mind.

"Brandon?" she asked as he looked up at her. "Do you like it here?" Brandon shook his head.

"No, I only have one friend name Naja. She a Naga you know?" Jenny shook her head.

"No I didn't know that, well anyway...me and my husband, we want a child. But I can't have a child of our own so I came her to pick a child I want to take home with me; and I'm picking you!" Brandon looked shocked. He never thought someone would pick him.

"Really?" he asked moving closer. "So...you'll be like my mommy?" Jenny smiled and nodded.

"I won't try to be like your mother Brandon," she brushed his hair back. "But I'll be the best I can; if you let me?" Brandon gave it some thought and nodded his head looking up at her.

"Okay!" he cried. And for the first time since they talked, he smiled.

"It's not fair; I don't want you to go!" a small yet long Naga looked down as she crossed her arms in front of her chest. Her scales were as green as the grass while her underbelly yellow. Unlike most Naga her eyes were blue as the sky. Brandon looked down; Jenny was in the office filling out the files to allow him to be her son. "If you go you'll forget about me!" Brandon looked up horrified; he shook his head holding on to Naja shoulders.

"Naja," he answered her. "I will never ever forget about you, you're my best friend and like a sister to me..." truth was, Brandon liked Naja a lot, but he could never muster up the gut to tell her. "And..." he snapped his fingers and went toward his bag as Naja tilted her head, wiping a tear from her eye knowing she might never see him again. He came back with a necklace, it looked almost like two snakes trying to bite the other tail off, it snapped in half as he took a string and made the two each own necklace and put it around her neck. "My mommy told me one time, that if two friends wear these, their fate would be lock and they would meet each other again some day!" he smiled at her as she held it in her claw.

"Brandon..." she looked up as he smiled closing his eyes as he did so giving her a peace sigh.

"We will meet again!" he promised. "I swear it!" Naja grabbed him and held him tightly in a hug. Brandon blushed being so close to her as he hugged her back. Jenny saw this and let the two be as she watched.

"Promise?" she held out her pinky claw finger as Brandon nodded again taking his out as the two wrapped it around each other and shook.

"Promise." He agreed.

Two hours later Jenny was in her car with Brandon in the back seat. She bought him many clothing other such things he would need. The school year was close to being done so she would have to add him next year which didn't bother Brandon at all; he wanted to know what school was like outside the walls he was in. at times his mind would wonder back to Naja and how much he missed her gravely.

"We're here!" Jenny pulled up to her house as Brandon looked out. His eyes huge as he saw how big it was as she got out and he suit. Mar car was parked so he was home as she went to the door. "Time to meet you're dad now!" Brandon nodded holding on to her pant leg as she walked in. Mar was busy watching the TV when she strolled in, Brandon saw the red dragon and hide behind the wall as Mar heard his tiny yelp and turned off the TV.

"Is that our son?" he didn't get a good look at Brandon before he hid behind the wall as Jenny nodded.

"Yes, its okay Brandon, he won't bite." Brandon moved so his head was seen as Mar looked from him to his wife.

"A human child?" he went on one knee as he saw Brandon more clearly. "Brandon right?" the human nodded his head as Mar smiled. "Well then Brandon," he opened his arms. "Can daddy have a hug?" Brandon looked up at Jenny who nodded as he went over and hugged the dragon neck as Mar hugged him back. Jenny soon followed and hugged both her men now. Eyes closing as a tear rolled down her cheek; but not of sadness.
