Part 2: Prom

Three endless months had passed and prom was drawing to damn near. Kiador and Jareth were closer then ever, always talking, always being friendly, it made Jareth's friends uneasy for they were hoping to make Jareth feel stupider. But for some odd reason they though that Jareth might be under a spell of some kind. But that didn't bother Kiador, in fact more kids began to treat him with respect now that he was friends/secret boyfriend with the toughest kid of the school not to mention the hottest. They both agreed that they should keep them being boyfriends a secret even though it made Jareth uneasy, for he did not know if he really loved Kiador.

Kiador of course was really busy, getting ready for prom and all. He sighed deeply as he answered a text that Jareth had sent him about getting his prom cloths. Since he asked him out Jareth thought he would buy all the outfits they would need. The rumor broke out into the school that they were going out together at last, some how the jerks that use to be the friends of Jareth spread it out, but he was not so worried.

Little did Kiador know of the dreadful heart breaking plot Jareth had in store for him, but Jareth was not willing to tell him, neither were his friends. It pinged harshly at his heart that he was going to break up with him, it was to wicked, if he could have control over it he'd stay with him but his friends threatened to kill him and his mate if he didn't break up with him. He rose his cell phone up to his ear and waited for Kiador to answer.

Kiador's phone rang with the normal Three Days Grace Animal I Have Become tune as he answered it. "Hello?"

"Come meet me at the abandon shack in an hour, there is something I have to tell you.." Then there was a buzz and the connection was lost. Kiador knew that it was Jareth, and something seemed very wrong. He looked at his clock and saw that he had to make his way near the end of the town towards the abandon shack, he sighed deeply, feeling that there was something dreadfully wrong.

Time passed, and the night walked along Kiador's paws as he neared the shack. There he saw a silhouette of Jareth, his ears perked and he ran to him. "Babe, what's wrong?" He barked softly looking at him to see if he was hurt or in a emotional wreck.

The moment had come, unexpectedly too fast for Jareth's liking. His ears were lowered as a low whine could be heard from his mouth. "Kiador, I ugh...have something to tell you." He looked over his shoulder to make sure that no one was around. His long leopard tail swished with aggravation. "I wanted to tell you that we're breaking up." He then took out eighty dollars, his heart began to break.

Kiador's eyes began to get wet, as sniffles began to choke him up. "W..what do you mean, our love making, our relationship, was all a fucking fake...just so you and your friends can have a good laugh?" He looked at the snow leopard, eyes filled with a broken sorrow that would haunt him forever.

Jareth's ears lowered seeing the broken wolf's ears flatten as he stuffed the money in his pocket. "I faked everything, just to please the guys for they'd not stop bugging me about it, and...and when I told him that the deal was off, for I did feel something for you...they'd threaten to kill me, and you.." He looked down at the ground, not wanting to see the wolf cry. "I'm sorry...I truly am.." And with that said Jareth stepped back and vanished into the darkness of the night, leaving Kiador broken like a chewed up toy that a dog no longer wanted to play with anymore.

Kiador's heart shattered into many shards, tears streaming down his muzzle, stinging his eyes with regretful pain. Seeing the leopard was now gone, maybe forever made him see the reality, made him see the truth that he really was pathetic and useless to the world. He stood up and realized what he wanted to do, after the prom, after his song...he was going to kill himself. It was wicked to think this way, but he had no other choice, no one in the world cared for him as much as Jareth did, no one showed such kindness. Tears kept rolling off his muzzle as he glanced up, his beliefs had nothing against suicide, other then he'll be reincarnated in his next life, but it was a whole lot better then the pain that poisoned his body.

The days drug onward, as if the accident never happened. Kiador kept to himself, never speaking to Jareth during classes anymore. It was as if all the pages of their story had turned backward and then been erased. He sighed deeply, his mind was not thinking right in the past week, for he has been failing some of his tests, but the teachers thought he was going through some harsh times and decided to let him go easy.

Kiador was able to gather some deadly plants and collect the venom that they contained that was deadly both to human and animal. He spent all night writing a letter to his grandparents, telling them that he was going away possibly forever, for he was, and he knew that there was no going back. Tonight was prom, his last night alive, his solo will be his last song to sing...and he was going to make his message loud and clear to Jareth, of how much he really loved him.

Jareth sighed as his life shifted back to some what normal, the painful feeling had vanished after a few shots of liquor that his friends gave him in celebration of the particle joke. However, he wished that Kiador would get over it, after all it was a prank and he should have known of it before he even pulled it off. But all of a sudden his mood swung to emo, acting all different then his normal self. Prom was tonight, that was a good thing to look for it was his last year at the school, and he had a girl going out with him. One of his pals Paul had hooked him up with a vixen that was looking for a stud just like himself. He was combing back his fur smiling softly as he hummed a soft tune to himself.

Kiador was preparing for the night, he had on a tux that his grandmother bought for him the day before, he slipped the letter under the table for them to see. He knew that they'd be wondering why their grandchild had not returned after his solo, for that was the only reason now that he was going, was prom. The clock ticked teasingly towards his death. He saw that his lifespan had stopped at this date.
