#24 of Dragons Lair

Short one this time. Work has really got to me and I lost the creative spark for a while. Anyway, I wanted you guys to decide where to take the story next. After they get married, would you like them to stay on the Dragons homeworld or would you like them to go back to Earth. I have more for the Earth line in terms of story but I wanted to let you guys decide because to be honest, I've stopped writing this for me. I write it to entertain you guys (you dirty perverts :p) and you guys like it, so that keeps me happy. So, Earth or the new planet (yet to be named.). Put your thoughts in the comments :D

==============

Myra walked out of the bathroom, "Mother, father, how unexpected."

"You know why we are here." Myra's mother said, "We do not want you to contaminate the Vylkair name with a human."

Michael turned scarlet and whispered to Myra, "I'll step out for a bit. I don't think they'll listen to me, or even pay attention to me." He got a bag and left, after taking a library card from Myra.

"Mother, you know I love Michael, and he loves me too. He only wants to help with furthering our knowledge of humans from Earth. The added bonus is that we are in a relationship together. We are going to spend our lives together."

"How long is Michaels life?"

"80 years."

"He has a short amount of life left -"

"Which is why I want to mate him now, so we can spend as much time as possible together."

Myra's father spoke up, "If you decide to mate, then I'm afraid you will not have our blessing."

"Father!" Myra sobbed. She wanted her parents to like Michael, and didn't want to have an unblessed marriage. "Please give your blessing. Michael was made for me."

"No. A Dragon was made for you, not a human."

Myra sighed, and carried on arguing.

Michael walked around the area, looking at the dragons flying overhead, and the steep sides. There weren't any rails to prevent people falling off, but dragons could just open their wings and glide to safety. He decided to stay away from the edge and walk on the uphill side. He reached the library and went in. It was huge, and had at least 4 floors. He went up to the receptionist, a dark yellow dragon, and asked, "Where do you keep the history books?"

"Human?"

"I am, but I want this planets history and family histories."

"Do you have a card?"

"Yeah." Michael fumbled as he gave the dragon Myra's card. The dragon looked at it and nodded, "2nd floor, row 32 for the family histories. Row 56 for this planets history. Have a nice day."

Michael nodded and looked around for stairs, but couldn't find any, "Erm. How do you get up there?"

"Dragons fly up there."

"Ah. I'll have to work out my own way then."

"There is a storage lift which is used to move books. I'm sure you can use that. It's at the back. Here's your card." The dragon replied as he gave back Myra's card. Michael headed for the back and found the lift. The door was open and someone was loading it. Michael approached the dragon, "Erm. Could I have a ride up to the 2nd floor? I can't fly."

"Sure. Just help me load it up and I'll give you a lift." The Dragon replied. Michael helped the Dragon loads the lift, then got in with him.

"So you're the human on the news?"

"Yup."

"So what is your home planet like?"

Michael smiled and started talking about Earth, about its wonderful beaches, beautiful forests and vast natural resources. He neglected to mention that humans were draining the seas of life, cutting down the rain forests and mining the natural resources. The elevators doors opened on the second floor and Michael stepped out, "Thanks for the help."

"Thank you. I might choose to live on Earth. It sounds like a wonderful place."

Michael smiled again and nodded before walking off to find row 32. He found a book on the Vylkairs and took it. He went to row 56 and took a few books on the natural history of the planet and the Dragon race. He took a book on the development of technology and went downstairs again in the lift to get a few fairy tales, and a child's book. He went to the front desk again and put the pile of 6 or 7 books in front of the dragon, who made a note of them then swiped Myra's card.
