I was Broken and Lost and you found Me

By Rogal Ursus

There I stood in the doorway, watching the people and cars pass by, nobody paying any notice on the tears that ran across my face. I slumped down to the floor and held my hat in my lap, sobbing even more. A few people noticed and some even dropped coins and dollars in the hat in my lap, but still kept walking along their way.

"They know nothing. Stupid people," I cursed under my breath. My thoughts were interrupted by a loud crash of thunder and a torrent of rain. "Now my mood is complete." My head drooped even further and I began to cry again.

He stood above them by only a few inches. Everyone was so concerned that they literally didn't notice him. He seemed to breeze through the crowds trying to escape the rain with coats, umbrellas, anything they could find. He was not concerned; in fact, he seemed to like the rain, dripping off his massive wings. He smiled as he moved silently through the crowd. He perked up his head and knew he had found what he was looking for. He came to the doorway and found a small bear, sobbing. Picking the cub up he embraced it and covered them both with his wings as he sat down on the step in the doorway

"Do not cry little bear, for someone has found you. You were broken and lost and I found you," the soothing voice echoing through my head as he leaned down to kiss my forehead.

Opening my eyes, I stared into his gorgeous blue eyes and after looking through them, I smiled, tears still streaming down my face.

"Indeed you did. I was broken and lost," I choked through my tears.

"Come little bear, let us leave and I will love you," he replied smiling and placing another kiss on my forehead."

Stepping off the step into the street, he spread his massive wings, and leaped into the air. Amazingly nobody noticed. He held me close to his chest. I could hear his heartbeat and felt content and safe. I quickly fell asleep and awoke when we landed on the roof of what appeared to be a large house. Placing me on my feet, he took my hand in his, knelt on one knee and smiled. Spreading his other arm outward, he said before kissing me deeply on the lips, "Well little bear, we are home."
