First off, I do not own any Digimon chars or any names and/or nicknames that involved in this story. However, I do own Al in this story. I apologized first hand if there are spelling and grammar errors because English is my second. Any introductions are the same at the previous chapters. One more thing: Happy New Year (Although it's two weeks late).

Chapter 46: Unfortunate Event, Snimons Attack!

It was already a week pass after the test. The Destinies were doing their normal routine, such as doing their daily life and patrolling the game and the arena. At one time, Matt told them that he has a rehearsal schedule for his upcoming concert and he will be busy for at least two weeks that include the concert. Some of the Destinies planned to give some extra celebration by inviting Jake, Zane, Derek and Alphonse to the concert. Matt gave them three tickets since he have some extra tickets and to anyone who wants to watch his play.

Jake, Zane and Derek haven't heard his playing and they accept the invitation. As for Alphonse, he only needs to enter into the D - Server to hear Matt's play. He wanted to hear Matt's play but he declined. "Sorry, I have other plans on that time." He said. "You guys can go without me."

Jake, Zane, Derek and Matt showed some disappoint look at him. "Aw, things won't be that much fun if you didn't come." Derek claimed.

"I'm sure that Mr. Matt can do better without me. After all, he is a musician and a guitarist. Besides, I've got someplace I need to visit within days." Al replied. "Don't worry, I can handle things myself now I got these." Al showed his Digivice gauntlet that attached to his left claw. "So who wants to join me on game patrol?" Jake and Gatomon volunteered to join Alphonse in one group. Zane gone to a separate group patrol and Derek goes to arena.

Inside the game, Al, ShadowWolf the black Gabumon and Gatomon were wondering the city to hear any rumors coming on. Most of the rumors contain gossips from the human world, certain rare items coming from certain fake Digimons, asking some assistance to fight against strong fake Digimon, or finishing some quests with some help.

"Man, this is a boring task so far." ShadowWolf complained.

"I know, but it is the only way for us to hear any abnormality in the game." Al replied with exhaustion from walking around the city.

"And what kind of abnormality should we looking for?" ShadowWolf asked.

"Easy." Gatomon answered. Her ears twitched around like radar to catch any conversation from other players. "One of them might be complaining about a slight headache or spontaneous blur when they returned from a certain map. The tricky part is that they didn't tell it until it was too late."

"Good luck with that." ShadowWolf growled.

"That's where you came in, Al." Gatomon respond. "Your eyes can see them, and all I need is to ask them where they were last time." Al spontaneously slapped his face. "What's wrong?"

"I completely forgot about that power." Al answered. "I haven't used that power in ages that I completely forgot about it, if I still have it." Al smug his eyes and squinted slowly to see if he still have the power. His eyes started to sparkle. Al can see a difference from before and that made him surprise. "Gatomon, can you tell me again what does the infected one look like?"

"For a fake Digimon, their eyes were red and their body is blurring. No symptoms on the real Digimon except went berserk. Lastly, dark mist appeared in the field." Kari explained with Gatomon's mouth. "Why did you asked?"

"I don't know if I see this right or not, I see most of them were shadier than before." Al answered.

Gatomon and ShadowWolf looked at Al in surprise and shock to hear his answer. "What? How is it possible?" Gatomon asked.

"My guess is part of the mist got snatched when a player passed them." Al answered. "But where, I don't know."

"What about me?" ShadowWolf asked in fear.

Al looked for a moment. "I can't tell because your fur is black. No wait..." Al looked thoroughly at his pattern. "Nope, you have none." ShadowWolf sighed in relief. "You shouldn't be too tense. If you got one, the effects were small because none of them showed any problems."

"What should we do now?" Kari asked in Gatomon's mouth.

"It is no use to ask where they were before because they might be contaminated days ago when they were hunting." Al answered. "That mean we have to keep on patrolling every map."

ShadowWolf grunted at the answer and Gatomon sigh in defeat. They start walking to the gate and begun the patrol. They patrolling for a whole day and sweep at least five field. Gatomon and Al were exhausted from walking while ShadowWolf still feeling fine. ShadowWolf starts the conversation while on break. "Would you tell me why you didn't go to the concert?"

Al looked at him for a moment and then looked back down to the ground. "I was planning to visit Soul's graveyard. I want to pay him a respect as a brother. Or at least, I am the only family that able to visit to the Digital World."

Both ShadowWolf and Gatomon bowed their head to show some respect to him. "That's right. We didn't visit him on 40th day and 100th day after his death." ShadowWolf answered. "Why didn't you say so? We will go visit his grave and after that we can go to Matt's concert."

"I guess so." Al answered in hesitance.

"He is right." Gatomon answered. "We can visit his grave before going to Matt's concert, if he has a grave."

"Or we could go now, only three of us." ShadowWolf suggested.

"Four, if you count Ms. Kari." Al corrected. "Sure why not." They went back to the portal together. When Al looked back after walking for three minutes, he saw that Gatomon is looking elsewhere. "What's wrong?"

"Do you get the feeling that we've been watch?" Gatomon asked.

Al was confused at first, but his instinct kick in. He sensed that something or someone is watching them from afar. Al looked at where Gatomon look and at that moment, the feeling is gone. "Yeah, I sensed it but it's gone now."

ShaodwWolf looked at them in cautious. "Can you guess what it is?"

"I can't tell because it was hidden very carefully." Gatomon answered.

"At least it didn't attack us. It was more like a watcher." Al added. "We better get back immediately."

Al, ShadowWolf and Gatomon warped back to the city. They used the portal to warp them to Gennai's mansion and then warped to the Digital World, specifically to the desert area where Soul died. As Gatomon said, Soul didn't have a proper grave to commemorate his death. Al spends hours to build a grave with Gatomon and ShadowWolf. After building a grave, the sun is already set. ShadowWolf bade farewell and return to the human world to face a new day tomorrow.

Al and Gatomon went back to the mansion. Some of the senior Destinies, mostly Izzy, Henry, Tentomon and Terriermon, were in the mansion. They asked where they were after doing some patrol. Al told them that he and Gatomon build a burial ground for Soul. They remembered him, nodded and went back to check the Glitch viruses. They start cleaning up and get some rest for tomorrow activity.

The next morning, Al, Gatomon and Kari went to the forest to gather some flowers. Tentomon, Lopmon, Suzie, Patamon and TK tagged along and help because the flower fields were in the insect territory. Gatomon stop picking the flowers and look around again and that caught Al's attention. "What's wrong, Gatomon?" Al asked.

"It's the same feeling from yesterday." Gatomon answered.

Al nodded and returned picking the flowers. "Ignore it, Gatomon. If it was the same feeling like yesterday then we shouldn't be too worried for we didn't do anything." Al replied try to convince her. She nodded slowly and returns picking the flowers.

For at least an hour, they have gathered enough flower for Soul's grave. "I think we have gathered enough flowers for him." Al said it with a weak smile.

"Come on; let's get back to his grave." Kari replied.

On their way back to the screen portal, they heard a roaring sound from somewhere. "What was that?" Suzie gasped in surprised.

"Definitely a Digimon roar." Patamon answered.

"It's Snimons and its heading toward us." Lopmon warned. Everyone dropped the flowers and prepare to battle. Kari, TK and Suzie pulled out their D - Server and Al draws some cards and put it in the slots. Everyone went silent as to hear insect wings flapping from afar. The sounds grew louder and they looked at their surrounding, waiting for an ambush attack. TK is far too tense for the ambush that he didn't realize his small sweat was running down to his chin. As the sweat drip from his chin, a blur yellow figure jumps out from one of the bushes and passed over them.

The sudden yellow appearance makes everyone duck down. Al and Gatomon had a slight keen eye to see whom or what it was. Both of them only saw a yellow with a white tip tail before the figure disperses into the bushes again.

"Was that?" Gatomon asked thinking that she is mistaken with someone else.

"Renamon?" Al added and both his eyes and Gatomon's make eye contact in disbelief. A minute afterwards, a herd of five Snimons appeared from the same direction where the yellow figure appeared and gone to the other side.

"Whatever that was, the Snimons were chasing it." Tentomon answered. "I guess someone was invading their territory or disturbing them."

"I don't give a damn about territories. If what I see is true, we need to rescue it and calm the Snimons." Al responded and helped Gatomon to stand up. "Tentomon, guard the gate. Everyone evolved to the highest form."

With the help of the tamers, Gatomon, Patamon and Lopmon evolved into Holydramon, Kerpymon, and Seraphimon. Al evolved into WarGreymon that might suit for the mission. They chased down the Snimons to rescue the hunted creature.

It took them at least an hour to reaches the slowest Snimons. Al reached at the last Snimon side by side and performed a neck slam, stopping the Snimon and let the others handle it. Kerpymon, being the largest of the team, respond by performing a body slam at the fallen Snimon.

Seraphimon prepared his Divine Breaker and throwed it at the Snimon. The Snimon got hit and disintegrate into data. "I said calm them, not kill them." Al growled.

"Do not worry. As long as the data isn't absorbed, they can be reborn." Holydramon answered. She stried to reach the Snimons but they were too fast for her large body.

Al tried to keep up with the Snimons but he can only reach at the back of the Snimons. Al did not want to harm the Snimons because they might rage more than before. He did not have a choice as his sprint the last strength and slashed the wing of two Snimons. The two Snimons got out of control and fell to the ground. Seraphimon and Holydramon responded by blocking Snimon's path.

Al keep on chasing the last Snimon but he can only keep up the pace and unable to reach it. The yellow figure was fast when it was running, but the chase will soon end as it reaches at the edge of a cliff. Al can finally see the true form the mysterious figure. It was Renamon and it was on the edge of the cliff. The Snimon landed right at the front of the Renamon trapping its way out. Al heard a faint splash like waterfall coming from the cliff after the beating wing stop. Al knows less about Renamon's attitude since he only saw Rika's Renamon. He thinks that this Renamon might fight back or jump to the cliff and fall to the waterfall. The Snimon began to raise its scythe claw to strike the cornered Renamon.

Al won't gave a second thought as he yelled at the Renamon. "Get Down!" He warned. The Renamon and Snimon startled by the howl but Renamon responded a bit by crouching down. Al dash forward and tackle hard the startle Snimon, making it loses balance and fall to the cliff.

Al falls almost at the edge of the cliff after tackling the Snimon. Al pulled himself away from the cliff and stood slowly. He panted heavily from the chase and waited for the outcome. He slowly looked at the Renamon as the Renamon is on high alert. Al saw that the Renamon is a female and almost the same as Rika's Renamon. Al lends his claw hand at her, but she didn't let her stance down. "Are you all right?" Al asked to convince her.

At first, she doubted whether to answer him or ran away from him. However, she knew that Al have no intention to harm her. She reached his chaw hand to accept his offer. "I don't need your help, but thanks anyway." She answered.

She stood up with a slight boost from Al. She swatted away after that. 'That is new from Renamon species.' He thought. "Okay, that was slightly rude but I'm glad that you are okay."

Al looked closely to her figure. She really is attractive, almost as attractive as Rika's Renamon. Al looked closely at her face. She has a green emerald iris, unlike Renamon he knew. "What are you looking at?" She interrupted his gaze. Al is in deep blush because he was caught gazing. Thanks to his helmet, she didn't see it. Al quickly turned away, avoiding eye contact.

Suddenly, Al heard a beating sound coming from the cliff. Al snapped from his tranced as the Snimon suddenly appeared from the cliff, surprising both Al and the emerald eye Renamon. Snimon intends to slash Renamon then Al. The sudden appearance startled Renamon. Al instinctly moved toward Renamon, blocking the slash with his back. Al suddenly loose his balance and slipped to the cliff, accidently grabbing Renamon with him. Al realized that he dragged Renamon with him. He quickly grabbed her and protected her from the fall. Al knew that he will fall to the water but who knows what was beneath the water, so he braced himself.

They fall to the river and gots carried by a strong current. Renamon manage to free herself from Al and help Al to surface. Al coughed from drinking the water too much. Al looked at the edge to see that Snimon is raising and lowering its scythes. They suddenly heard a loud splash at the end of the current. There they saw the waterfall. They looked at their surrounding and nothing to grab on. Their time is up as they fall down the waterfall.
