Okita Souji was, as usual, sitting at a small brown table, filling out another report for the president of the Shinsengumi, Isami Koudou, as Saitou Hajime stepped into the room.

"Okita-san, is the report almost finished? Koudou-san is growing impatient," said Saitou with a startling grimace.

"I'm almost done! This stuff isn't as easy as Koudou makes it look," replied the tired Okita.

Saitou approched Okita reluctantly and took a seat by him, and calmly stated, "You should try to get your work done on time, then you would not be so tired."

"It's hard when Koudou gives me so much work!" Okita complained.

Saitou leaned against Okita, and for reason yet unknown, blushing furiously. "I could... help to relieve Okita-san's stress."

Okita, at this point, face red as it could be, was completely surprised at the situation he had found himself in.

Saitou, who was a stranger to this kind of situation, had no idea as what to do from here, so he simply sat still, and stared at Okita.

Finally, Okita, decided to make his move the first. He slowly moved his face closer to Saitou's, and in seconds, panicked at the sound of someone opening the door, and accidentally headbutted Saitou in the nose, and they both fell over in pain.

"Okita, Saitou, dinner's ready! Heisuke made it this time, so don't expect much," said Shinpachi Nagakura, laughing in between his words.

"Gah... we'll be there in a minute, Shinpachi! Give us time to get ready," said the aching Okita, whilst helping Saitou up.

"Alright, just hurry up before the food gets cold!" replied Shinpachi, whom was already several feet away from the doorway.

"Okita-san, are you alright?" asked the usually quiet Saitou. "Yeah, I'm fine, Saitou. How is your nose?"

"Nothing is broken, but it aches still," said Saitou, "We should not keep the others waiting." The two then went on their way to dinner.

Several hours later, the officers of the Shinsengumi had retired to their quarters for the night. Okita found it hard to sleep, for he had been thinking about the incedent with Saitou earlier. He had realized how close he was to breaking regulations, and worse, possibly ruining his relationship with his dear friend Saitou.
