Random Short Story

Here's a quick short story that I had a dream about last night, so I figured I would write it out. Disclaimer: it doesn't really go anywhere.

He hated it here. Why him, of all the foxes in the world, did he have to go to a damn private school with living quarters. Every day was the same; wake up, make bed, eat breakfast, go to school for hours, come back, and do homework for the rest of the day. Oh yes, this is really the life that he wants, rotting away in some prissy little nerd school that wouldn't even let them leave on weekends.

His name was Smith Firebaugh, and he was a very vibrant red fox. He had hazel eyes, was about 5'11", and was sixteen years old. Both of his parents were gone, had been for more than ten years. Some high class cat had picked him up and took care of him from age six. Smith hated that cat too; she sent him here after he had a bad record with the local schools back where he used to live.

Smith had been at Luxe Private School for the past four years, and as he went to class that day he knew something was going to change. He sat in his Trigonometry class (In which he was failing) in a full suit/uniform that is custom to most private schools.

Smith sat back in his chair and started thinking about how much he hated this place. How the girls were always separated from the boys, the huge university like campus he had to navigate everyday, the asshole teachers that he always had to deal with.

'Oh yes,'

He thought to himself...

"Today is the day that I am outta here."

Six other furs around him stopped writing and looked at him, perplexed.

'Oh shit, I said that aloud.'

The fox looked up at the feline teacher staring at him from across the classroom and sat up.

"Mr. Firebaugh, care to explain why you are disrupting my class?"

His ears went back and stared straight in to her green eyes.

"I'm sorry, ma'am, it won't happen again."

Smith sat back in his chair and went back to not doing his work.

'Bitch.'

He had thought to himself, but never had the balls to say to her. The fox looked at the clock, and in that instant the bell rang to leave for his next class; Physical Education. It was the only class he had an A in, and if attitude was also graded he would have an F. He went to the locker room and quickly changed, then went outside to wait for the other furs still changing.

Smith looked around him; there was a red chain link fence about seven feet high that was an inner barrier, than a really high cinderblock wall beyond that. The wall had 2" by 3" holes about five feet off of the ground once every twenty blocks, he realized.

'I guess it gives makes it seem more "elegant.'

He thought to himself.

'And it also gives a good way to escape.'

By now the rest of the class was out, about40 furs all together. The teacher came out of the locker rooms then; an athletic looking Labrador.

"Ok class, today we are doing a three mile run. It is at your own pace, but must be completed less than 35 minutes. Go ahead and stretch, then meet me at the starting line in five minutes."

Smith went ahead and did his stretches, when an annoying mouse that always talks to him came up to him.

"Hey Smith, I'm feeling rrreeeaaalllyyy fast today. I bet I'll beat you out on the run today."

Smith looked at the mouse with a burning fire in his eyes.

"Daniel, go away."

The fox went to the starting line and waited around for a couple of minutes, and then the teacher came up to the class and blew the whistle to start. Smith started out slow, still thinking. Then the annoying mouse came up to him again.

"Hey Smith, watch this!"

Smith shook his head as the mouse ran past him, up to the front and then back in a short amount of time.

"Did you see that? Smith?"

The fox looked at the dumb mouse, and then tripped him, making him fall flat on his face. Smith then looked at one of his only friends, a border collie that always ran with him.

"What he has in speed, I have in agility."

The border collie looked stunned as his friend jumped in a single bound a five foot tall fence. Smith looked back at his teacher, who was yelling at him to come back. He was now in a soccer field running towards the red fence. A female lion P.E teacher was in that field with her class, yelling at him as well. He jumped up the red fence, grabbed the top, and hurled himself over. The second he was over, an alarm sounded at the school and Smith could see guards running at him from across the field.

The fox turned towards the wall now, running at full speed. He jumped through one of the holes in the wall with precision, not a hair touching the blocks around him. He found himself at the top of a hill, with a huge city before him. He turned back at the wall and smiled, then continued to run away from all of his hate.

Damn I didn't think I would go in to that much detail, lol. It was meant to be even shorter than that. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed my dream. It happened exactly like that.
