A furry world - Part 9 I Didn’t Want To Be This!
"Let's go talk in one of the other rooms" said Stripetail pulling my arm a little and closing the door behind us and leading me to one of the other rooms down the hall.
Shi sat down on hir haunches and I did the same. Shi raised hir head and spoke with a voices of authority which was so different from hir usual cheery voice I nearly jumped up "Look Lupus I know it's a big thing we are asking you to do but we really need your help you no doubt know that some of the furries here didn't become the beings they wanted to".
I nodded remembering how some spent nights crying because they didn't want to be the form they were.
"But those who became chakats are the worst off" she said hir voice becoming more somber. "Unlike you, me and others who wanted to become chakats they weren't prepared for the changes that this form brings"
I nodded again "so are they having problems with their empathic abilities"
Stripes shook hir head "No. Let me ask you this do you have a problem with going through heat and rut cycles or with the need to spend time with other chakats just to ensure your mental well being?"
I was a bit affronted by the question but answered "No. During rut and heat it can be a bit hard to control the urges and I enjoy the time we spend together"
Shi gave a small smile then returned to business "Chakats like the one you met have a problems with this nature of our bodies some like hir have become very distant from others and for a species that is usually very sociable this is not good"
"But why me? I'm not really the type of person to show people what to do or explain anything" I said a slight panic in my voice.
Stripes got up and began to walk to the door "maybe that's true but you have accepted your new chakat nature so completely you might be able to help hir"
I followed hir back to the room with the chakat in it and was a bit surprised to see shi was still in the exact same spot we left hir.
"Introductions first" said stripes back to hir cheery nature "Lupus this is Sarah. Sarah this is Lupus shi is the one you will be living with"
Shi looked me up and down and then her face changed "I said I don't want to be this! I don't want to learn how to accept this I just want you to change me into what I wanted to be or back into a human at least!" shi shouted at us and stormed out of the room.
"That went well" I said laying down one of the bed and closed my eyes. I felt Stripes lay down next to me putting an arm around me
"I'm sorry I should have told you to keep your guard up shi is a bit angry".
"A bit?" I said opening my eyes "It felt like being hit by a hammer"
"There is an upside. You will be getting a bigger place and Laika and Candy can stay there with you" shi said.
"Who's going to pay for it?" I asked still holding my head.
"The government will and you will get paid for services rendered if you look after Sarah but you won't get government subsidies anymore" shi said as shi got up and walked to the door.
"That's not too bad" I said giving hir a weak smile.
"Let us get back to the dining hall I bet your vixen is already worried about where you are" shi said not bothering to hide a huge grin
The thought of Laika made the memory of the anger fade away and I also got up and led the way to the dining hall.
We both got us some food and went in search of our friends. Finding them was a bit hard since the hall was bursting full with both furries and humans but we eventually found them and I sat down between Laika and Candy. The first thing I noticed while eating was that Candy kept giggling and I finally decided to ask hir why.
"We found out why we haven't seen much of Cornè during the festival" shi said between giggles and pointed to a table a little away from us. There was Cornè sitting with a handsome male cat. He had white fur with black spots like crescent moons.
"We found him in the room earlier making out with him, he was blushing so brightly I could see it through his fur" said the cheerful Candy.
The rest of the night was peaceful and happy even the occasional human asking us what me and stripes were didn't bother us much and we took turns showing them what herms are. I also got closer with Laika doing little things like holding her hand or stroking her fur but as the hall started to empty we also left.
I wanted to go straight to bed when we got to Stripes' room but I had to tell Laika about what Stripes had asked me.
"What do you mean stay with us and why should we move" she almost shouted when I had told her.
"We have to move because there isn't much room where we live now" I said wringing my halter in my hands "and I can't just abandon someone who needs my help"
"There are other chakats here that they can ask" she said.
Just then Stripes came between us "I didn't want to start a fight when I asked Lupus to do this" shi said in her business like voice "but we really need hir, very few chakats are completely comfortable with their new sexual nature and shi is and as shi told you that's what sarah needs"
Laika settled down on the bed still glaring at us both.
"Laika I don't want to hurt you but I really want to try and help I told you before how bad it can get if we don't spend time with other chakats" I said my voice a tinged with sadness.
"But doing it with some strange person that can't be how it works" she said still glaring at us but her voice calmer.
"Stripes and I are lucky that we became good friends before it happened to us the first time but I told you when I had to ask Stripes to come that I had helped others like this before while we were all still living at the facility"
Liaka's ears droop down and she spoke almost in a whisper "I know but I don't want to lose you" a tear flowing down her fur.
I laid down in front of her and placing my hand under her chin lifted her head up till I could look into her tear filled eyes. "Laika my love for you will never grow less, everyday it grows more and more and if I ever one day decide to take a second mate my love for you will still burn brightly" then holding her head softly I kissed her deeply.
As we broke the Laika looked at me stunned for a while then asked "what do you mean second"
"Laika Swiftwind will you be my mate" I asked the insides of my ears turning bright red.
Laika took my hands in hers and just nodded.
We both nearly jumped out of our fur when there was a sudden clapping and we turned and saw Candy and Stripes both clapping enthusiastically.
"Finally I was wondering when you would get over you shyness and ask her" said Stripes still clapping.
I smiles at the both of them when suddenly I felt very weak "I think I reached my limit" I said falling down onto the bed
"You go to sleep my love" said Laika snuggling up close to me.
Just as sleep claimed me I thought "Today wasn't bad at all"
