As the vibrant colors and scents filled Holly's nostrils, she navigated the lively college campus, her hooves clicking quietly with each step. Her golden ears twitched nervously and dressed in a flowing skirt that hung to her ankles and a soft pastel sweater, she couldn't help but feel a bit out of place. Transitioning was still a journey of self-discovery, and her lavender-hued eyes glanced around, the curious gazes of fellow students and campus personnel adding additional layers of uncertainty.

Stop being a scared little filly,_Her mind sternly told her. _They're not judging you! Nobody outside

your immediate circle of friends even knew. Besides, they wouldn't care that you were once a cold,

now, a proud, and beautiful young filly!

A nervous smile quirked the edges of Holly's lips as she hugged her books closer to her bosom. Still amused and quite bemused, under the effects of the HRT drugs, she was developing into quite a young filly, that hadn't failed to draw more than one pair of eyes towards her grace and beautiful palomino colors and silvery mane and tail. Reaffirmed in her self-belief, Holly smiled wider, her keen, inquisitive mind reassuring her and bolstering her flagging spirit.

Aiden, the easygoing German Shepherd, with a quick and infectious smile, found himself drawn that late spring afternoon towards his favorite cafe corner. Here, he ordered the same thing, every day, an apple Danish and a triple-shot caramel latte. Taking a seat, his ears twitching from time to time, he pulled out an old, well-loved novel from his satchel, then opened it and began reading. His dark brown eyes moved from side to side, as he read the letters in the novel, occasionally, his muzzle would crinkle in a myriad of emotions as he devoured page after page. A commotion, behind him and near the counter, broke the trance over him and he set the broken-spine novel down to hold his place, before he rose and began to turn, his instinct to protect and guard compelling him.

"I..." Holly stammered, her ears flattening as she looked nervous and out of place, before her paw dug into her purse, her hooflets fumbling around. "How much for just the coffee? Oh, this is so embarrassing -"

Aiden, his curiosity piqued, noticed the attractive young filly's distress. He gracefully approached the counter, his tan fur gleaming under the lights of the cafe.

"Excuse me, sir - " Aiden addressed the giraffe behind the counter. "Please add her coffee to my

bill -"

With a deep, exasperated sigh, then relief, the giraffe nodded. "Very well, sir - enjoy your drinks."

Holly's eyes widened with surprise as she turned, then looked up at the lanky German Shepherd who stood next to her. "Oh, please - no - I couldn't possibly - "

Aiden winked at her, a playful smile curling the edges of his lips. "Consider it a gesture of goodwill. Everyone needs a little help, now and again."

Tenderly, Aiden handed the hot drink to Holly. "Here you go - Miss..."

"Holly - " Holly stammered, feeling her cheeks flush. "Holly Jackson - Mr..."

With a dramatic rolling of his eyes and a gruff chuckle, Aiden smiled, tilting his head and letting his tongue hang in the adorable way all German Shepherds had before he grinned from ear to ear.

"Aiden, no last name - blame my ancestors who didn't believe in them - a pleasure to meet you

Ms. Jackson, please - " Aiden gestured with a black and tan paw. "Would you join me? I don't bite

  • unless you're into that - "

Holly flushed worse, clutching her coffee between her paws, giving a shy, nervous nicker of

laughter as she followed Aiden back to the small, comfortable chairs and then sat down. They

exchanged pleasantries, finding common ground in their love for coffee, and then when Holly

noticed his book, they segued into favorite artists and genres.

Aiden, the ever-friendly and amusing shepherd, effortlessly eased Holly's nerves with his sweet, kind, and gentle nature. As they chatted, Aiden found Holly's movements and the delicate beauty that seemed to emanate from her.

"Your eyes - "Aiden murmured, dividing his Danish and sliding the plate over to Holly. "They're -

exquisite! I've never - ever - seen such a vibrant color..."

Holly glanced down at the Danish, her hesitation obvious, before she nervously picked it up and

took a delicate bite, before setting it back down.

"They're a...extremely rare genetic trait - so I've been told -"

"Oh, please - " Aiden smiled, then plucked a napkin, then lightly dabbed at Holly's left lip, wiping away a few crumbs and some apple sauce.

Holly flushed worse and nervously nickered again, bowing her head. "Sorry..."

Aiden chuckled and shook his head. "No need to apologize, these are delicious - but can be quite

messy... Have you tried their apple turnovers? With fresh cream?"

Holly blinked slowly, glancing from Aiden to the counter and then back. "No - should I?"

Aiden's grin grew wider. "They're _the_best - please, let me get one to share with you..."

Quickly, he rose, and Holly watched side-eyed as his lithe, athletic form moved with such surety and grace, watching as his black and tan tail curled slightly and wagged from side to side. He returned, placing with a gentle clink, the turnover, before he picked up a butter knife and carefully cut it in half, placing his part on a napkin, the other on the plate, pushing towards Holly.

"Something sweet, for someone sweeter - " Aiden grinned at her. "Please, try it!"

Holly fidgeted, her ears flattening against her head as she cast a glance down at the Danish, her eyes

widening with every passing moment.

"Oh, I really shouldn't..."

Aiden emitted a soft, subdued whine, his expression transforming into the most heartfelt, puppy-like look as he sat opposite her.

Holly flushed even deeper, her fingers hesitantly picking up the turnover, eyeing the fluffy white cream and the delicate dusting of icing sugar. With a nervous smile, she took the tiniest of nibbles, her eyes squeezing shut as she gasped, her mouth falling open, and her eyes widening in delight.

Aiden's grin widened, his ears perking up happily. "I told you -"

Holly looked around discretely, then appreciatively nickered at him. Suddenly, without warning, her fingers deftly turned the turnover on its side. With a slow lick of her broad tongue, she sensuously slurped the cream in one smooth stroke, the tip of her tongue curling up before she closed her mouth and shuddered, the joyous sensation of the sugar rush sending endorphins streaking through her mind.

At first, Aiden was bewildered - and a little confused, before he nervously trembled his mind refusing to accept what he'd just seen.

"Sorry - " Holly snickered, lowering her gaze. "Bad habit, I have a terrible sweet tooth, and these are so good..."

Her playful and cheeky side had peeked out for just a moment, intriguing and quirking Aiden's curiosity. It was an unexpected and delightful surprise, to be sure, and he found himself longing to spend more time with her.

As Holly quickly savored the sweet treat, Aiden switched mental gears and acted perfectly calm, a true gentleman.

"So, Ms. Jackson - "

Holly brushed a few crumbs from her lips with a napkin, holding up a paw. "Please - call me Holly, Ms. Jackson? Urgh, makes me sound like some old Spinster!"

"Holly - " Aiden started again, then smiled and tenderly reached over, and placed his paw on top of hers, giving a gentle touch of friendship. "What brings you to this quaint little cafe? I don't recall

ever having seen you here before - "

Holly's eyes glanced down at his paw, then back up into Aiden's deep brown eyes. "Well - I'm a college freshman... and I can't resist a good coffee. Some of my girlfriends suggested this place to me and - "

Aiden felt his spirit flag, his expression showing it as his ears slowly went back down.

"Oh," Holly nervously nickered, her flush creeping up to the tips of her ears. "_Oh, oh no - I didn't mean _girlfriends... in...that way... No, I meant my friends..."

Aiden smiled nervously, trying to move past a purely innocent, yet embarrassing, moment. "I understand - I'm a senior - one more year, and I'll graduate...."

Holly's hooflets nervously clattered against the coffee cup, before she took another tentative sip, then set it back down.

"They suggested I'd like this place. A good brew, a nice treat... I thought it'd be a nice place to just - relax and catch up on some reading. What about you Aiden? Is this your daily reading spot?"

Aiden chuckled, his tail wagging gently from side to side. "Guilty as charged! I find the relaxed, easygoing atmosphere here quite pleasurable. Of course, the company - even more so... Plus, the pastries are just heaven on earth, aren't they?"

Holly's shy smile curled her lips, as she caught the subtlety in Aiden's deep, masculine voice.

After another coffee, they finally rose and Aiden paid the bill, as the two new friends headed out and made their way back to the campus. Aiden felt a genuine connection with Holly, and her quirky charm and shy, yet cheeky nature, were impossible to ignore.

"You know," Aiden suggested suddenly. "There's a beautiful park nearby. If you're up for it, we

could explore it together. What do you say?"

Holly's side-eyed glance crinkled along with her lips, as she nervously slipped her paw into Aiden's, interlacing her fingers with his.

"That sounds lovely, thank you - " *

As evening approached, Aiden couldn't help but listen to the clip-clop of Holly's hooves, then as they sat together on a bench, Holly leaning her head on his shoulder, he smiled and draped an arm over her shoulders, holding her tenderly.

"I can not help but notice," Aiden murmured. "Your hooves - they're unshod?"

Holly twitched slightly, then smiled nervously. "An expense I fear I can not bring myself to bear. I'm only here because of a scholarship from a wealthy patron, for whose patronage, I am thankful for-"

Aiden mentally kicked himself. Coming from a comfortably wealthy family, the distress he caught,

subtle through her scent and choice of words, sent shards of ice through his heart.

"I'm - " Aiden stammered, then looked away.

To his surprise, Holly's fingers gently rested on the side of his cheek, before she turned his head and gazed into his eyes, a furtive smile once again touching her lips.

"No need to apologize," Holly smiled, then timidly brushed her lips against Aiden's cheek. "Thank you...for a lovely time - I'd...like to spend more time with you...if...you don't mind?"

Aiden blinked, before he smiled and tenderly caressed Holly's cheek with his fingers, then lightly kissed her on the forehead.

"I would be honored, thank you..."

Holly rose, then smoothed out her jumper and skirt, before she playfully winked at Aiden, before

making her way back across the quad, her silvery tail swishing slowly from side to side...

For their second date, Aiden proposed a day out in the forest, an idea Holly was intrigued by, never having ventured outside the city in her entire life. Aiden borrowed his father's car, a modest, yet upmarket vehicle, and picked Holly up from the campus forecourt. As he skilfully navigated through traffic, suburbia gradually transitioned into groves and eventually actual woodlands. Holly's eyes widened in awe at the towering trees, whilst Aiden pulled into a park and turned off the engine.

"I've never - " Holly murmured, her gaze fixed on the expansive woodlands through the windshield.

"Really?" Aiden asked, turning to look at her. "Oh, you're in for a real treat then - "

With that, Aiden grinned at her, slipping out of the car and hurrying around to courteously open Holly's door. With a startled giggle, Holly climbed out and retrieved her wide-brimmed hat from behind her seat, poking her ears through the holes and pulling it down into a snug fit. Aiden, an avid nature lover, pointed out various flora and fauna, sharing interesting facts with the fascinated and enchanted Holly. Clear, crisp mountain air filled their lungs, as the gentle chorus of rustling leaves and birds surrounded them.

"It's...beautiful - " Holly whispered.

Aiden smiled, holding her paw gently, as they came across a small, crystal-clear stream. "It is, isn't it? All this beauty - yet so close to the hustle and bustle of city life. Now, step carefully, I don't want you to slip..."

Their meandering path took them up a trail and at last, before they rounded a few last corners, Aiden gently pulled Holly to a stop.

"Close your eyes," He told her. "I got a surprise for you..."

Holly, with a nervous giggle, closed her eyes, then put both paws in Aiden's - in a remarkable show of trust. He walked backward, occasionally glancing over his shoulder before he paused and stepped to the side.

"Open your eyes..."

Holly's breath caught in her throat, as she stood safely back from the edge of the cliff, their views seemingly endless as the forest floor lay sprawled across a magnificent valley, so far below.

"Magnificent, isn't it?" Aiden murmured, stepping behind her, and tenderly slipping his arms around her belly, gently holding her.

Holly quivered before she relaxed and sighed in pleasure. "It's...incredible..."

"It is..." Aiden admitted, resting his chin on top of Holly's head.

For their shared third date, Aiden surprised Holly once more, planning out a romantic evening beneath the stars. He took her to a secluded spot, far from the noise and light pollution of the city, where the night sky unfolded in all its glorious majesty. Aiden had a friend set up a cozy little place, with a warm blanket and sumptuous pillows, creating a comfortable place for them to enjoy the beauty in peace. As they lay side by side, gazing up at the stars, Holly's eyes were wide as she stared up into the infinite cosmos so very far above. It was magical and serene, the only sounds being the gentle whispers of the cool night breeze and the rustle of leaves amongst the trees. Aiden felt Holly snuggle up against him, then lay with her head on his lap, as he lovingly caressed her ears, just savoring this moment.

"Aiden - " Holly began, her voice barely above a whisper. "There's something...I need to share it with

you. Something about myself, I've kept secret from you for far too long..."

With a blink, Aiden let Holly sit up, as he sat there, waiting patiently his tail slowly stopping its playful wagging and growing still. As Holly visibly swallowed, Aiden's playful, gentle nature became alarmed and confused.

"Holly, my love," Aiden murmured, placing a paw lightly on her cheek. "you can always be honest

with me. Whatever it is, I'm here for you, now and until our last days."

With a fearful glance, Holly looked sideways at him, before she sniffled and turned away, burying her head in her paws, her quiet sobs breaking Aiden's heart.

"I'm...not exactly who you think I am - " Holly's words come, through the wracking sobs that

seized her. "I'm not truly a filly. I started my transition during late puberty, and, well, it's a part of

me... I've kept hidden from you."

Aiden was silent, before he tenderly placed a paw on her shoulder, then turned Holly around, tenderly lifting her chin to look into her eyes.

"Holly," Aiden began, then smiled that adorable smile that melted Holly's heart. "that doesn't change a thing for me. You're still the most amazing, funny, and beautiful person I've come to know - and love... Thank you - for sharing this with me..."

Holly blinked, bracing herself for the emotional explosion she was certain was coming...

However, all she found in Aiden's gaze was love and acceptance. Aiden leaned in, his lips curving into that adorable smile, and he tenderly brushed his lips against hers. Holly's eyes widened as he passionately kissed her, his touch tender and thoughtful, as he carefully lay her down on her back.

"You say..." Holly sniffled, wiping away the tears with the backs of her paws. "You love me..."

Aiden snuggled against her, their noses lightly touching, and he smiled again, before delicately licking her nose. "I meant every word..."

Holly sniffled twice, her lips wavering nervously as she tried to smile. Aiden continued to stroke her ears adoringly until Holly finally smiled up at him.

"If you mean it...then...please - show me..."

Aiden tilted his head to the side, his tongue lolling as his ears pricked forward, before he tenderly licked and nuzzled at her furred throat. "I will..."

He did...

It was magical...

Holly's joyful sounds resonated, merging with his own, their combined voices echoing out over the valley far below as the passion and intimacy of their first time, forged bonds that'd last until their end of days...
