It is my first ever story so take it easy on the rookie please.

As I stood on the platform of the antenna looking out and watching the Covenant drop ships advancing toward me I thought, "I'm the last Spartan on this planet; I might be the last human alive on this rock." I griped my DMR tightly and brought the stock to my shoulder and pulled the slide back to chamber a round, then a squad of grunts jumped out of a phantom drop ship, its plasma gun shooting at me. I grabbed the turreted machine gun and pulled its slide back and pulled the trigger. Firing at 1000 rounds-per minute, the grunts had no chance, A second drop ship landed right behind the first, if flew off giving me a full view of a squad of grunts with two fully armoured elite officers. "Take out the officers and the grunts should panic' I thought to myself, I swung the gun back around to see that one elite had a fuel rod gun and it was pointed at me. He shot two rounds at me, so I ripped of the machine gun of the bipod and held it with two hands and pulled the trigger. The recoil was not as bad as I thought it would be, I killed the elites and then the grunts started to panic. What I didn't see was the elite squad behind me, but I realized that when a fuel rod round hit me in the back, causing me to drop the machine gun. I grabbed my DMR and threw a grenade at them and it took out all of their shields, aiming through the scoop, I shot 4 rounds in to the elite's heads. "4 shots, 4 kills," I thought. I turned around to see three drops ships dropping grunts, jackals, and elites, now I started to worry. "Dam it, I'm going to be overrun, "I thought. My visor has a 5x zoom capability in which can help me see targets at 500 yards. To me left I saw a Spartan Laser, so I ran, dodging plasma, needle, and fuel rod rounds. I grabbed it, "good it's still full," I thought, smirking. I held the trigger and it charged up, then it unleashed and huge red laser the put a hole through all the enemies in front of the laser. As I lowered my weapon, time seem to stand still, I saw everything, to the face of an angry elite to the light pink flower on the ground beside my foot. Then a blue ball landed beside me, it started to glow. I snapped out of my trance and jumped away from it. The blue ball then exploded, all I could hear was this loud pinging noise, it seemed to go on forever, but then it was quiet. I could hear nothing, not even a sound, but then the silence was broken by gun fire. I got to my feet, but was thrown back down by an explosion. Grabbing an Assault Rifle laying on the ground beside me, I fired back emptying the clip into two elites. Reloading, I felt something rip through my shoulder, I didn't know what it was at first the n a huge amount of pain washed over me. I looked at my shoulder to see a needler round, it was glowing with a pink color to it and it was becoming brighter, then it fell apart, but the pain was still there. I looked back up and I was hit in the face by another needler round, cracking my visor. It disabled my motion sensor, ammo count, and my shield strength meter. "Damit," I thought, "I can't see." I stumbled and ripped my helmet off and walked over to the rifle. Once I grabbed it and spun around to see an elite was charging me with his energy sword, l pulled the trigger and he fell down, there was two on both sides of me, I shot the one to my left. Then the other one grabbed, so I hit him with the butt of my weapon, and he dropped. I was hit by plasma fire which pushed me back; I grabbed my pistol and fired. Holding the Assault Rifle on one hand and my pistol in the other, firing two weapons at the same time was not really hard, but keeping the guns pointed at the heads of the elites were. I was jumped by two elites with energy swords, but I can handle that. I grabbed the arm holding the energy sword and I forced it into the other, the elite fell backwards dead. Then with the elite I grabbed, I held his arm straight and hit him in the elbow with my arm, breaking the arm of the elite, he dropped the energy sword and I grabbed a knife on the ground and stabbed him in the mouth, forcing the back of his head into the ground. I took the blood stained knife out of the dead elite's mouth, turning to my right I saw four elites running towered me, energy swords in hand. I managed to grab my pistol, knife in one hand and pistol in the other. Aiming the pistol at the elites, with the knife under the grip in a so called tactical formation, I fired. L reloaded and aimed again, but instead of firing, l charged them. Shooting the three around the one in the center, l saw the last elite was a Zealot, he tried to swing high, but I slide right underneath him and climbed up by stepping on his waste armour and I stabbed him on the top of his head and pulled the knife toward me, ripping through his armour. When the knife finally exited his head I jumped off of him, he knelt down for second and he fell to his side, dead. Then another elite jumped me, pinning me to the ground, he raised his energy sword.

I activated my armour lock and it stopped the energy sword. The EMP started to charge and I released the EMP, it pushed the elite off of me. I got up and charged him and killed him. I reached for my pistol on the ground and reloaded the last clip. As I slid the clip into the pistol, I looked up and the sky was filled with drop ships. I lowered my head back to ground level, the last of the elites were surrounding me. I didn't have enough time to kill them all; I knew that if I fired I would be mowed down, so I stood in a defensive stance. They all raised their weapons at me, there were about eight elites, all different ranks, and most were minors. They were ether talking or something else, I couldn't understand them. Then from the edge of the group a Field Marshal, warring dark grey and teal armour, pushed through and glared at me. I saw his mandibles twitch in anger; he was giving off a low growl with small clicking noises. Facing him, pistol and knife in hand, I was ready for a fight between me and him, but instead of attacking or charging me, he choose to speak. "You are the last human on this world," he said in a deep, but strong voice, "surrender now and you may live, if not, your fate will be death." I stood there, not moving, baffled at the fact that the elite speaks English. "I have to do something, but what?" I thought. "I will not surrender," I said. "Then your fate is death," he said. The elites all raised their weapons."Wait," I said, "I challenge you." All the elites looked at the Field Marshal. "You challenge me?" he said with a gruff. "Yes, I challenge you," I said to him, "just you and me." I threw my pistol to the ground and took the knife in the other hand. "As you wish," he said handing his plasma rifle to the elite beside him. What I didn't see was the two energy swords he was carrying on his hips. He grabbed them and with a quick shake, he activated them with a, kshh, sound. The elites around me lowered their weapons. The Field Marshal walked to the center of the circle and stood no more than two feet away from me. I was slightly in imitated by him because he was taller than me. "Are you ready?" he said backing up. "I was born ready," I said, tighten my grip on the knife. The elite was in a fighting stance I had never seen before, then again I have never seen an elite carry two energy swords before. Then the elite charged me, and I charged the elite. I slid right under him just like I did to the Zealot; he stabbed into the ground, and then quickly pulled it out. I stepped on his waste armour and raised the knife, but before I could stab him, he grabbed by the arm and slimed me to the ground. He raised his energy sword and stabbed, but I rolled to the right and cut his wrist, but it was only a flesh wound and it didn't affect him at all. He pulled the energy sword out of the ground and swung at me at chest level, but missed. He swung high and missed again. As I dodged his second swung I tripped over and stumbled into one of the elites. He didn't try to kill me; he just pushed me back into the fight. "It was just me and him, no one else," I thought. As I raised my knife, he started to walk to his left, so I started to walk to my left as well. With a loud growl he charged me again. He swung at me with his right arm in a punching motion, I ducked to my left grabbing his arm and twisting it, causing him to drop the energy sword. He turned causing me to lose my grip on his arm. As I return to face him, he punched me in the gut, causing me to stumble back a few feet then fall backwards. I flipped over and started to crawl away from the elite. He walked over to me and kicked ne in the side of the gut, flipping me over on my back. He grabbed me by the neck and lifted me so I was face to face with him. He looked me up and down; I could see the satisfied look on his face, the look saying that he killed one of the last Spartans in the UNSC. "My face will be the last thing you pathetic eyes will see." He said raising his energy sword. What he didn't see was my own combat knife in the sheath by my left shoulder. I quickly grabbed it and stabbed him in the left shoulder; he dropped me and his energy sword. I kicked him in the gut and he fell over. I picked up his energy sword and stepped on him with me right foot, crouching down, I held his energy sword to his neck. "You think you won human," he said, "this is only the beginning, of what is to come." I looked at the elites around us, all of them in shock of what is happening in front of them, their leader on the ground pinned by a Spartan. I looked back to the Flied Marshal. "Kill me, human," he said to me, "kill me to insure your victory." I learned a lot about elite tradition, and I knew what would happen if I let him live. "No," I said, "I'm not going to kill you." "Kill me now human," he said. "No, I'm going to let you live," I said to him. I deactivated the energy sword and stepped off of him. "Why are you letting me live, human?" he asked getting back on his feet. "Because," I said backing away, "I think everyone deserves a second chance." He stated to back away; he grabbed my knife and pulled it out of him. The elites that surrounded us started to walk away. I walked back to pick up my knife. "We both live to die another day," he said turning, "maybe I will see you again and that time you will not be so lucky." He disappeared in a thick cloud of sand and dust. As I walked back to the antenna, I saw the last of the drop ships leave. I sat down beside a medic kit and healed my wounds. I turned to see a radio, I turned it on. All I hear was static, then. "Is anyone out there?" I grabbed the radio mic, "this is UNSC Spartan B312," I said. "Say again?" the voice said, "Did you say Spartan?" "Yes," I said, "who is this?" there was a lot of static, "this is UNSC Frigate Forward into Dawn," he said, "we are looking for survivors, where are you?" I lowered the mic and signed. "I'm activating my beacon," I said turning on my emergency beacon. "Ok I got you," he said, "I'm sending a pelican to pick you up." I lowered the mic again and paused for a moment, I raised the mic. "Roger that," I said, dropping the mic.
