A cautionary tale about what Landfill Indie Bussy does to a man (Melt and Die and Become An Alien)

-Get up lazy bones, rise and shine. Took declares, as he taps the back of his hand against the swollen pregnant belly of Galasgey. Fishing shift's about to start, you know the drill.

Even from the outside, it's clear to see some bulges rise from Galasey's stomach, vaguely hand and feet shaped as if something inside of there was waking up.

-Oh be easy on him Took, there's not really any concept of days or time while you're in there you know. Explains Galasgey.

-Are you speaking from experience? Asks Took.

-Oh no, just what the people I've nursed have told me after they've gotten out. Replies Galasgey in an absolutely unnerving matter of fact way. But hey, if I meet the right woman then y'know... One day.

-Huh, I thought you were pretty popular around here?

-Listen Took there's a Mommy and there's a MOMMY, do you understand what it is I'm telling you?

-No, not even a little bit actually and I pray to Gaia it stays that way.

Galasgey chuckles to herself, as she reaches out and takes a fishing rod from Took's paw. She then twists it around in her hands a little bit in intrigue.

-All this time you've gotten these fishes for us, I never once thought to look up how you manage to achieve it. Muses Galasgey.

-Well, you should be getting direct perspective help, if your lodger ever wakes the fuck up! Took shouts, smacking Galasgeys belly a little harder than before

-Mmuurrggghhh I'm up. I'm up. Complains [XALA]

-He says he's up. Translates Galasgey.

-How much longer are you gonna put the Miniter out like this [XALA]? Asks Took.

-The gestation will take however long it takes Took. Explains Galasgey. However, at this rate, I don't believe it will be much longer than a matter of days.

[XALA] sighs a little to himself hearing this news, though it did remind him of something important.

-Oh Took, I ment to have a world with you about what we spoke about before.

-He says he needs to talk to you about something you spoke about before? Translates Galasgey.

-That is, all conversations that we've ever had, ever. Does he feel like narrowing it down? Asks Took.

-For fuck's sake, the name! Explains [XALA]

-Ohhhh your new name! Yes, I gave him some ideas of Alien names you see, or rather the phonemes we seem to land on for them and he decided on one! Explains Galasgey, clapping her hands in excitement.

-Oh yeah? What did you land on? Asks Took.

-Xala. Both Galasgey and her brood say in unison.

-Xala? I'll have to see what you look like when you're out. But Xala, Xala, Xala, a far cry from [XALA] isn't it? Are you compensating for your incredibly boring name? Throwing an X in there? Inquires Took.

-I mean kind of? Like, actually. I feel I've been released from the burden of used to have been a Human or a victim. I think that distance will be good for the new me. I'm not a tragedy like I'm just... This is me. Explains Xala.

-He says, yeah, and basically he doesn't want anyone recognising his human self. Cos you know: Cringe. Galasgey relays

-I mean, okay. I didn't really say that. Xala protests.

-It was implied. Galasgey argues, as she runs her hands up and down her belly.

The three of them spent the time fishing on Took's new boat. Galasgey didn't fancy her chances on the old tattered wooden thing, so just for this trip okayed the budget for a more yatchy kind of thing to support her carrying for two. After a while, the three catch as they bring The Neptunian up to speed on how a fishing rod functions. She explains that typically Neptuians just grab the fish from the ocean with their bare hands or with tools and nets and the occasional Nautilus. Catching them from above the water surface is a newie for her, evident by her struggling with it significantly. After a long while, however, she does eventually snag something on the line. Took tries to assist her with the hoisting aspect, but the pushback from the fish on the line is perhaps not suited for something barely balancing between her own weight and the weight of an entire adult other person.

The line snaps and she predictably lands straight on her arse. Thankfully this was the exact kind of scenario she demanded the extra investment for the bigger boat for, they were thankfully unharmed and more importantly: Very dry. Took gets up and adjusts himself before addressing the Minister:

-Yeah, most people stack it on their first one, ma'am. No need to get disheartened.

He looks down to see Galasgey with her eyes bulging out of her face, devoid of expression. After a bit she replies.

-So, you know when I said Xala was due "Any day now?"

-Yeeaaahh?

-Well, I should've said "minute" instead, as it turns out.

Took peeks between Galasgeys legs and sees a small puddle begin to form just underneath her. Oh shit, go time. He immediately steers the boat back to shore, keeping in mind this was his first day driving this new boat and after much tossing and turning and near capsizes, Took manages to park the boar just outside of his camper. He quickly takes some emergency camping equipment from the van, bed rolls, pillows, quits and foldable chairs and constructs a kind of support for Galasgeys back. He helps her off and puts her in position.

While Took was panicking at the urgency of this situation, he did notice Galasgeys calm composure. Well he was aware of what giving birth looks like and while Galasgeys breathing had increased a little bit, it's not the dramatic amount he's used to seeing. She didn't look in pain or uncomfortable. The Neptuian puts her hands together and covers her mouth as she's trying to think of the words to use right now.

-Soooo.... I'm trying to think of the most delicate way of putting this right now. Galasgey begins. I've studied how mammals typically will give birth, and it's usually a horrific, painful experience, is it not? Well, our bodies are more designed for this experience specifically, and it's not a traumatic process for us. You see it's a bonding between the brood and the giver, a euphoric and sensual exper-

Before she had even begun to finish her explanation, Took was already putting his fingers into his ears and walking off, quickly onto the route into town.

-Well, I was going to ask him to join in. We're not Xala's parents or anything. Galasgey says to herself.

Xala had a moment of relief cos like.... Unpack these feelings later but yeah; this whole thing doesn't make Galasgey his mother but... Took is kind of a dad at this point, and he didn't want him anywhere near any of this, frankly.

Galasgey's appendages begin to vibrate, just as on the day Xala entered into her, a torrent of even more intense sensations was about to overcome her. There is some sadness in no longer being able to keep him so close to her, but such is the way of things, but an intense excitement to get to know the new man now known as: Xala.

You ever just not breathe for 4 months due to your proto gills and very specific goo, and then that goo just goes the fuck away? Let me tell you something about that: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. You're done the waking up feeling like your falling "Oh dear god I need all possible oxygen in my world right now?" thing? Like that plus 50. Xala only really acclimates to consciousness, as opposed to the REM state he's been in during his time in Galasgeys womb, when his head submerged beyond the dwindling fluid. He was no longer a man in a dream, but someone trapped in a very real cramped place, gasping for something which has yet to enter this place. In the midst of this panic, thrashing around in the pool that remains, he spots Galasgeys hands pressed upon her own belly, her words of comfort resonate in his very bones.

-Please do not fret Xala, everything will be okay, you'll be back out soon with a whole new life waiting for you. So let us enjoy this last moment of our time together.

Somehow, just her words release all tension from his body, he can feel himself physically sink lower back into the womb. He regulates his breathing with air slowly returning to his lungs, as whatever was letting him survive while submerged begins to close up on his throat. His heartbeat begins to sync with his host as its rhythm pulsates throughout his surroundings. She's right, this is a moment to be enjoyed together, a bittersweet goodbye as their existences separate once again.

He can feel the walls around him start to slowly pulsate, at first very slight, then enough to hoist him up and down like a massage chair or something. Eventually he found himself being thrown around the womb, but for seemingly no purpose? Though he could feel the moaning and thriving of his host, her body is toying with him, he understands. Well it is her birth too I suppose and she is going to savour her occupant for all she can. But on account of their synchronising, the surges and pulses of pleasure she is feeling, are to Xala too. Not quite a physical one to one, Xala doesn't even comprehend the nature of his body enough to even know if that would be possible. But a tingling, travelling up his stomach and chest like a warm grasp, aaahhhh it is euphoric, and it fills him with such comfort knowing that these feelings comes from Galasgey herself. That he could be the source of such ecstasy for her, it doesn't begin to come close to paying the debt he owes her, but it fills him with relief nonetheless. Xala could feel his body had done a 180 from where he started, he knows where his head now likely lays, he takes a deep sign as he prepares for his last stop on this ride. He feels an oppressive tightness as he is led out of the canal which the fluid had been escaping to before. A sting of chill as open air hits the top of his head for the first time. There wasn't even time to process the suffocating aspect of this, as all the muscles pushing through his entire body felt absolutely incredible. Every nerve ending surrender it's original purpose in the pursuit of what felt like an entire body orgasm. No resources dedicated to survival, to living, just to reach out to a cosmic level of pleasure. Xala's body contorts from head to toe, and his surroundings do with him. It turned out to be the perfect process for the final stretch to leave the confines of his host. The cold, the air, the light and then... Nothing.

Xala had been. He was reduced to residue, something less structurally sound, less of a thing, than even an ameba. He was then placed in the refuge of the womb almost confirming how little of a thing he was before. Now as the breeze travels through his fur for the first time, the scent of the grass and soil careens through his nostrils and the sun bathes itself onto his person, he was a Thing again. He runs his fingers through the earth and grasps it, leaving marks behind. He is a Thing again, and anything this Thing does leaves evidence of itself once again. What better evidence could there be? That he Be's once again?

With shaky arms, he manages to push himself up and turns onto his back, before sitting up. It leaves him profoundly uncomfortable, as he is a completely new shape, he has no idea what muscles should be resting and which should be keeping him upright. What does he need to do, to be comfortably idle? Such answers are beyond his grasp for now, perhaps standing up will be better? As he goes to prop himself up, he adjusts to his new size and weight, slowly, but not slow enough as he immediately stacks it. Back on the floor, ugh he feels a little embarrassed, can't even stand or sit anymore like a newborn... Well hang on, actually that comparison is apt, he does have to just keep at it again. After a few times he finally does come to his feet, success! Oh but the balancing! He starts to stumble over again before one of his back tentacles instinctively grabs a part of the camper van to keep himself upright. Oh, shit, he has those now.

Stumbling to the van for support, he can now get a handle on himself. When he moves any part of his body? It's just that, no lag, no bone moving before the muscles, no fear of his entire being coming a part at the sign of any sudden movement. He moves his arm and it's as bland and uneventful as that. This alone starts to make Xala well up with tears, oh tear ducts and eyes, he supposed he must have them too in that case. But it was over, he was finally cured of melting all the time, a never ending klaxon of anxiety that only he could hear has now become silent.

Only after this little cry does Xala thing to hoist his head up and observe his surroundings. Only now does he notice that Took is absent an on the floor is Galasgey, panting exhaustedly with a huge smile on her face; elation! At Xala's euphoria with his new body... But also the never ending horror of being perceived, especially when your naked! AAaah shit!!! Xala instinctively covers his crotch with his paws, only to feel... Wait that nothing is there? Oh that's... Gonna take some getting used too. Aaahh but he realised, of course if none of the other Aliens here have any showing tackle then it stands to reason this new body would take on those attributes. He honestly kind of forgot all about that considering he doesn't exactly look like anything he's seen at the refuge. And like, it's fine, it's probably like somewhere in all this but, well he has to track down the new muscles to find it he reckons?

-Don't worry my guppy, I know you're still a mammal in here. She explains while pointing to her temple. I got those colour contrasting clothes you asked for waiting in the van.

-Oh, oh yeah. Yes yes, thank you so much. Replied Xala.

Xala shuffles, not having any confidence in his ability to walk the 5 or 6 steps required to get into the van, in order to fetch his new clothes and well... Start his new life as: Xala.
