#18 of Tales of Azoria

Short and sweet conclusion to Part One.

Uhrwerk had been living with Azuri and his mother for a year now. Azuri could tell how happy and safe Uhrwerk was. Azuri's mom had been taking good care of them both. She constantly tried to spend as much time with them as she could, going out on small trips to other tribes. Uhrwerk had a consistent smile on his face as Beckar taught him and Azuri the history of the tribes and even taking them out by the ocean.

Azuri never had a friend before, and now he had one. After living with him for a year, he was beginning to genuinely enjoy his presence. It started to feel normal the longer he stayed, like it had been a thing for his entire life. Uhrwerk clearly didn't seem to be thinking much about his past now, but still occasionally referenced it from time to time. Azuri always hugged him when he did and reminded him how much he was loved there. Azuri always shared his food with Uhrwerk and played many games with him.

Though, for as much as Uhrwerk was happy, neither of them ever saw Sandstorm again. She never visited or sent them a letter, it was like she vanished into thin air. Azuri was kind of worried about where she went off to, but he also kind of knew that she had the skills to fight back whoever stood against her, so at the end of the day he wasn't too worried. He did occasionally think that Sandstorm was trapped somewhere being held hostage or something, but Azuri still thought that Sandstorm could escape. Unfortunately, Azuri wouldn't be there to tell her to not kill anyone. Azuri kept Sandstorm's sword on his bedside table to remember her until she returned.

Maybe one day he'd see her again. She was an interesting dragon with a lot of mystery behind her eyes. Wherever she was at that moment, he wished her luck. As for Uhrwerk, Azuri was beginning to get a deep feeling inside - Something that might change their relationship forever. He didn't want to share it just yet though, instead opting to keep it hidden until he could find the right moment to tell him. All he wanted to do for now was just enjoy the moment of peace and quiet. Azuri turned to Uhrwerk who had a smile, his eyes closed and wings spread out as he felt the sun landing onto his fur.

Azuri scooted over to him, wrapping his wing around Uhrwerk and hugging him close. Uhrwerk put his paw around Azuri's neck, and they held each other in an embrace. He heard Uhrwerk say something to him that made Azuri feel a deep warm feeling inside. "Thank you..." His head lay against Azuri. He wished he could do this all the time with him. It made him feel comforted, even loved. He was glad he met Uhrwerk.
