The beginning of a new tale in a mysterious world filled with only dragons. The famous and well known Albatross slowly becomes bitter. Until finally, he snaps and does something unthinkable to his friends.

(Albatross)

(Thousands of years ago to present)

In the time of the goddesses and gods, the dragons felt safe and happy under their god rulers. Dragons willingly spread throughout the world and had the ability to meet other races. They didn't have to worry about any war, as the gods and goddesses kept the peace in check, with only one exception. Albatross, the God of Malice, had golden scales that shone brilliantly in the sunlight. He was the same like any other god when it came to size, being roughly 4 meters tall with a wingspan twice his size. He enjoyed causing a little mischief within the realms of the rules that the gods and goddesses had agreed upon. It was quite a cause for concern once Albatross began crossing some of these lines. He started to enact terrible decisions against the other gods and goddesses that crossed not only political, but also personal lines.

None of the other gods or goddesses saw this as entertaining and began to dislike Albatross's behavior. When confronted, Albatross would respond with a scoff and leave to continue his own thing. Albatross never sought out for answers as he believed that he already knew everything, even going as far as to cast his own spells onto himself to make himself more knowledgeable and powerful. Though, he had to keep them secret and minute so the other gods didn't suspect anything. That's when Albatross met the only god out of the twelve, who appeared to show sympathy with him. That goddess's name was Yinos, the Goddess of Benign.

She was the only dragon that showed kindness to him and he deeply needed her beside him. Yinos always declined helping Albatross with his spell castings, but she would always try to give Albatross feedback on it. Yinos didn't want anything to do with Albatross's magic, she wanted to remain out of it like a responsible dragon would. Albatross loved that about her, along with the large amounts of kindness and sympathy she would show him. He didn't want to leave her side, even offering her a place to stay with him.

Albatross was no dragon that felt love, but for some reason Yinos was different to him. Something about her made him feel fuzzy inside, and he didn't want that to leave. Albatross was in constant pain, all the way from his claws all the way to his head where he felt constant headaches racking his brain. Whenever he was around Yinos, that pain disappeared and he could feel his heart pumping fast. Unfortunately for Albatross, he couldn't date Yinos - even if he wanted to. The other gods and goddesses banned the ability for any of them to mate. It made Albatross deeply upset, but Yinos always reassured him that he was her best friend and she would never let anything bad happen to him.

That was until one day, when something bad did happen to him. Albatross' many bad spells and decisions for Azoria and the rest of the planet made the gods and goddesses angry at his actions. Leafless, the goddess of Life, had finally had enough and came with one spell to end his continuing reign of power. Albatross protested to Leafless consistently, even trying to get Yinos to convince Leafless to not make such a bad mistake. Unfortunately, Leafless pulled Yinos to her side and convinced her of the "great evil" Albatross had under his scales.

Albatross grew furious, running away before Leafless could banish him on the spot. Leafless quickly notified the rest of the dragon gods about Albatross's refusal to cooperate. Albatross fled toward the grassy plains where he met with Leafless once again, but this time solo. Albatross, in a roar of rage, tried to tell her off. Unfortunately, despite his greatest efforts, Leafless only grew more serious as she started to cast the spell. She had placed Albatross in a cage that he couldn't escape. As soon as the spell was cast, Albatross was sent deep into the earth to be kept inside of. His powers would have allowed him to escape, but Leafless made it so he slept within seconds after being banished into the earth.

That's when Albatross, in his final moments under the earth and consciousness, decided to spill out his final spell out loud for the whole world to hear. "I, Albatross, cast the other gods and goddesses into stone slowly within several days of my banishment. They must sleep for the generations to come like I will. They shall never awake again!" Then, Albatross finally closed his eyes and started to sleep while buried deep into the earth.

As expected, Albatross's spell worked and the gods and goddesses of the world were cast into stone and slept for the generations to come. None of the dragons in the world knew what happened to the gods or goddesses, if they did know, they never wrote it down onto any scroll for future dragons to find. The dragons of the different continents began to shift and history began to change. The different tribes started enacting wars between each other throughout the centuries to follow, causing chaos and disarray amongst the previously cooperative tribes.

One day, Albatross heard a voice calling out to him. It sounded unfamiliar to him, but everytime it talked, the s at the end of their words reminded him of a snake hissing at him. "I call out to Albatross, to reawaken him and let him return to the surface world!" Albatross felt the magical sensation wrapping around his body, but he didn't wake up for a moment. Though, he felt himself slipping away slowly and his body returning back to reality. That's when he opened his eyes for the first time in centuries.

"H-Hello?" Albatross cried out, but he heard nothing in response, not even the voice from the magical spell. He decided to try again, "Is anyone there?" He continued to hear nothing, but his banishment spell started to cast over him again. He felt himself returning back to sleep.

It wasn't long until he was awoken again by a familiar cast of magic wrapping around his body. This time, he felt himself rise up from his slumber. "We release the great Albatross from his ban! Rise from the earth and spread out your wings after centuries of being buried!" This time, it wasn't the hissing dragon from before. It appeared to be a group of five dragons chanting the line. Albatross felt himself lift up his head, only to realize he couldn't move all that much. He looked around at where he was, which was in the dark underground of the planet.

Albatross felt himself gaining full control of his body once more, but it wasn't easy to move around. He looked up, then closed his eyes again before clenching his fists. He lets his matter manipulation abilities come to him, as he begins to lift the dirt up away from him. Once the dirt was far enough away to let him move around, he got up on all fours and began to examine his surroundings. Then, with a growl in annoyance he used his powers to create a large tunnel all the way up to the surface in seconds. Clearing his way as he used his wings to lift himself into the air and fly out of the ground.

As soon as he arose from the earth, the speed of his wings allowed him to fly all the way up into the sky, passing the clouds. He felt free at last, his wings spreading out as far as he could. He looked back down toward the ground and noticed the five dragons cowering away from the scene. However, Albatross let them be as he started to rise higher into the sky. His large wings allow him to fly higher than any other dragon in the world. His twelve foot size and his wings that could wrap around a small house was enough to allow him to be higher than the clouds. His immortality prevented him from growing weak from the rarified air at such great altitudes.

Once he was high enough, he looked back down at the island he remembered from long ago, though it looked a lot different than he was used to. It didn't appear to be as lively as thousands of years ago. In fact, the island appeared to have one new palace in the forest, and many of the old gods and goddess palaces were overgrown or didn't appear to exist anymore. Only two palaces remained, one within Oceana and one within Stellaris. No god or goddess came to stop him or put him back into the earth. He was free at last, and his spell from thousands of years ago worked, meaning he was the only god that was still around. That meant the rules that the gods and goddesses placed were no longer valid. He could do anything he wanted now, and no dragon could stop him. A large grin formed on his face as he stared down at the island below him.

That's when Albatross got an idea, he wanted to show all of the dragons that he had returned. A god that will now be the official ruler of all of Azoria. He closed his eyes again as he felt his powers return to him, feeling the solid earth below him. He lifted his claw in front of him, and began to write into the earth like it was a piece of paper. As he did, fire formed around the sides of the ravines he was carving into the land. He started to write his name down on the island, using it as an excuse to claim it for himself. Once he was done, he grew a satisfied expression on his face after opening his eyes. I have returned from centuries of being banished. Now, I can claim this for myself and rule over all of the tribes! He thought to himself with an evil grin forming on his face. All mine for the taking! Who would ever dare to step in my way?
