The capital city of Lenbrough, referred to simply as just The Capital, of Leo Empire was starting to calm down due to the approaching night. The Capital is a city composed of several different districts, but our story starts in the Outskirts District, where common folk don't desire a life of luxury or any adventure. We are following a fuzzy figure, which looked for a time to wind down after a long day.

Picture a runny bar, runny yes but homely and welcoming. The bars name is Big Debra's in here folk come to kick back and relax at the end of their day, host parties and drown their sorrows in liquor. One such individual we followed here is a grey furred rabbit sitting at table, dressed in a hoodie and wearing a flat cap drinking a light beer, he was checking his smart-phone looking at the last message. At the top of the screen, it read "Angela" with a heart at the end of the name. He was reminiscing about the good times he had with her, feeling regretful and heartbroken. "I guess it wasn't meant to be.": he said, his voice was soft and quiet. His reminiscing was fortunately interrupted by a presence of a large figure. It said: "Hey you alright, Mr. Misfortune?" the voice was deep yet feminine.

Rabbit looked up away from the phone screen, it was the bar´s owner Debra a female Doberman a bit above average height, she was wearing tore up jeans, camo-pattern sleeveless shirt and a barmaid apron. She shook a small glass of alcohol with ice cubes to get the rabbit´s attention. "For me?": rabbit asked. "Yeah...well" Debra replied "it's actually from those two." She gestured towards two individuals clad in pink at the bar. Rabbit gave them a weird look. "They are good people don't worry" said Debra "plus it looks like you need the drink, and don't be so sad about it. There plenty of potential girls out there, silly." She left the glass at the table and walked behind the bar to attend to some other customers.

Our bunny here is a regular to her bar and is up to getting some good advice to lost souls such as him. Rabbit grabbed the glass and took a whiff, it was whiskey. While the rabbit was examining the contents of the glass the two pink individuals made their way towards him and sat down at the same table with drinks of their own.

"Hey there handsome, are these seats taken?" the rabbit looked up, he saw a petite rabbit with a pinkish fur wearing arm and leg warmers, shorts and a crop top plus wearing a windbreaker coat with white, black and pink camo pattern. Plus, the coat had a fluffy hood, a perfume of sweet scent poured from him. Roses. He also had a particular pink rose stuck in his hair. The same went for the tall well-built goat that was with him, expect his fur was bit paler. "Sure, I guess." Replied the grey rabbit. "Thanks ": said the pink one" what's your name, kid?" The grey rabbit looked at the pink one right into his eyes, they were dark pink plus the grey bunny felt they held secrets. He said to himself What the hell.

"Names Johnny, and yours?" "It's Avery" the pink rabbit replied "and this goat's name is Sage." He gestured toward the goat; the goat smiled and did a small wave. "Listen we two saw you that were in the dumps and thought we could well...cheer you up this night." Said Avery. "What do you mean?": asked Johnny.

"Well, you see," Avery started to explain "me and Sage here, are let's say...artisans of the night."

Johnny looked confused for a second, he was searching in his mind what Avery meant by that. Then his eyes wide opened and he blushed a little. He heard that term before. Johnny hastily stuttered a reply: "S-sorry, I am not into guys." Both pinkies smiled and had a little chuckle, "How about a drinking buddy?" Sage replied. His voice was deeper than that of Avery but still somewhat had a sweet side to it. Johnny took a deep breath and exhaled "Yeah I could use some." the grey rabbit grabbed a whiskey and raised it "To our friendship!" he shouted. The glasses dinked in the air and cheers were had.

Our unlikely trio chatted the night away, laughing and sharing stories of the world, for this world was quite different. It was a world of magic and beyond, filled with cybernetics, knights, gods and more. Its inhabitants were of anthropomorphic animals of bipedal nature with their own societies to boot. Plus, some their inhabitants were also of mythical origin such hippogriffs and unicorns and many more mythical beasts with anthropomorphic features.

Johnny finished his drink; he was thinking what work would wait for him tomorrow. "Hey kid" Avery said "you look familiar, did we meet before?" Rabbit shook his head "Nope, sorry." Johnny started to eye the rose in Avery´s hair. He asked: "I have seen a lot of flowers in my time, but that one escapes me. What kind of rose is it?" "Oh, this one?": Avery started to explain "This a Heart Rose, named for the sake of shape of its petals." Johnny took a closer look, it indeed its petals were a bit heart-shaped. "There's a rumour that Heart Rose tea helps with healing heartaches.": Sage chipped in.

Johnny slouched in his bar chair; Avery noticed a change of the mood in his face. "I see you could use a cup of it." Avery said. Johnny looked at his phone again, at the Angela's last message. "So, who was she?" Avery asked. "It...just didn't work out." Johnny replied "I am just a rabbit and she" he paused for a second "she was a tall wolf, plus a model. We didn't have time for each other and..." He stopped there for a second. "And?" Avery asked again. "And it seems it wasn't meant to be, I think I wasn't her type and...plus I think I hurt her at one point." "Did you hit her?" Sage asked.

"What? No!" Johnny replied "I think it was something I said or did, I just can't recall what anymore. Or if I really did something like that." "Hmm," Avery started to think „I am sure whatever it was I think its fine by now."

"Yeah, I hope so.": mumbled Johnny, he looked at the phone again. It was almost 22:00. "Damn, sorry guys I got to go.": said Johnny. "By the way guys, thanks for the company. No really, you got me out of a bad headspace, at least for the time." "No problem, and kid" Avery said, as Johnny was on his way to the door "I am sure there's another cutie out there for ya out there. Just got to be patient." "Yeah, thanks. See you around." Johnny said. "I am sure I will." Avery remarked.

It was raining outside; Johnny pulled hood over his head and ran towards his apartment. It wasn't that far off the bar; he knew a good shortcut. Through an old alley used now more of a drop off point of one of the local shops, it had you could say a small piece of history in it. Bunch of old propaganda posters printed and posted there during the conflict that happened many years ago, nowadays remembered only in history books. Rabbit didn't really care for that; he just didn't want to get wet now. Few minutes later and there was his home. It was a building with exposed brick-work. Home sweet home. Johnny opened the door, wiped his paws and went upstairs. Third floor, Room 102, stick the key into the key-hole, open the door and he was in his apartment. As he entered the room there was a mirror, he took of the hood and the hoodie itself and decided to take a good look at himself.

Johnny was a grey furred rabbit with green eyes, he preferred to have his big ears slouched. He wore a light blue hoodie with a plain white tee and a pair of simple cargo pants, on top of that a light blue flat cap to match his hoodie "Welcome home." He said to himself in the mirror. He dropped off his keys in the ceramic bowl on a dresser underneath the said mirror. Rabbit made his way into the kitchen and looked into the fridge; all was well stocked. What caught his eye, and he also planned this, was a plastic box with a sticky note labelled "left-overs" it contained some rice, chopped carrots, mushrooms and beans. Simple meal for a simple mammal herbivore like him. He took the box out and emptied the contents into bowl from his cupboard and put it into the microwave, set the timer and turned it on. He turned on the TV in the living room and waited until the weather report came on, it said its going to rain in the afternoon. The microwave did a little "DING!", he took out the bowl and some cutlery from the drawer and started to eat and watch the news.

It was your average night drivel, celebrity tabloid stuff and the state of the world. Nothing special. In the meanwhile, he checked an app on his phone, he got the app since its part of his work and it was required, he got to pick which deliveries to do and the rest would be picked by the other couriers in his office and through the app. He picked the deliveries in one apartment building a bit far from the courier office, several of the were no contact types but there was one which was person to person in a small manor like row house. A bit further from the said apartment building. He marked it on the app as in he will take the job. He finished the meal and started to take his clothes off and started to threw them into a basket for dirty laundry. He stopped when he was shirtless because he remembered something important. Something very important.

His pills. He made his way into the bathroom and opened the small mirror cabinet; there they were a small bottle of blue pills. He took the bottle into his paw and looked at them. Here we go. He thought. He didn't like really taking them, they had an awful taste but still they helped him sleep. He had.... issues sleeping and the doc, who was a squirrel, told him that they were essential for his well-earned sleep and mental health. Doc wasn't wrong but Johnny felt that he after so many years taking them starting to get some form of immunity of sort. He needed something stronger for sure. He took one pill and a washed it down with a glass of water from the bathroom sink. He went into to bed in only his underwear since he didn't own pyjamas, he found them a bit childish in that point of his life. He laid in his bed and shut off the lamp on his desk near the bed, he closed his eyes and slowly fell asleep.

Johnny started to dream. He smelled at first like wetness and earthy scent, like it was raining for a while then he felt a moist sensation. He opened his eyes and let his eyes have a quick look around. Mud pit, he was in a dug-out pit, deep way above his head. The moon was shining bright and illuminated the scene. There was also a wolf same height as him, but there was something wrong how Johnny felt. He felt stronger and taller not to mention, he quickly looked at his paws. The fur was pure white and a bit stained with some mud. He was shin deep in the said mud too. Back to the wolf, he was wearing a green bandana on his head and was stripped of clothing and nothing but some shorts. Johnny was wearing the same shorts the wolf had, minus the bandana. Johnny started to hear a metal creaking sound; it was coming from the top of the pit. Rabbit looked up and started to see an outline of someone. Once it came into a full view the character was wearing metal plate armour, with chest plate, helm with his visor up basically the whole package. Johnny squinted his eyes a bit, he tried to figure who in that armour was. It was a boar; he knew because the snout stared to be illuminated by moon. Pig like snout with tusks, there were also some light carvings on those tusks. "Alright kid." the boar addressed the rabbit; his voice was deep and scarred. Johnny just from assumed that he must be some sort of commander, his voice scarred from all the shouting he had to do in many battles he has done. "Best of one, we got a healer on standby if something happens. Also, this little pup" he gave a pointed at the wolf, wolf gave a thumb up in response "wanted to test your mettle, youngling. Don't crush him, okay? Now, "boar slammed his visor down" FIGHT LIKE HELL!"

Wolf went into a combat pose ready to throw punches, Johnny did the same. Wolf started with a right jab, Johnny slipped to his right and dodged it. Johnny then moved forward, even though a bit sluggishly due to being shin deep in mud, and managed to hit the wolf with his jab into his chest. Wolf staggered back a bit. Both of them now stared a bit at each other. Wolf swung a punch that would hit bunny's snout, Johnny instinctively covered his face boxer style with his forearms unfortunately it didn't arrive and instead Johnny felt a sharp pain in his abdomen. The Wolf feinted the one that was meant to go for his snout, fortunately now Wolf left himself wide open leaving his left side unprotected, Johnny took the opportunity and punched him into his face.

Wolf backed off a bit due to the blow and a small crimson stream started to leak out of his nose, then quickly shook his head and locked eyes with the rabbit. Wolf has recovered and was ready to dish out some pain, Johnny was waiting for his next move. Wolf spread out his arms and made a small leap toward the bunny, Johnny guessed what he was doing and leaped back. Now bunny had his back against the wall of the pit and he guessed right, Wolf was going to wrap tightly his arms around the rabbit then either headbutt him or just lift him up and then slam him into the mud below or just possibly that in that order. Johnny took the opportunity while Wolf´s arms were just clutching nothing and jumped to the Wolf's side and shoulder tackled him from that side. Wolf got thrown by the tackle into the nearby wall of the pit, he was dizzy from impact and loud ringing from the hit didn't help. Wolf tried to turn his head towards the rabbit but was greeted instead with a fist of white fur into his snout. He lost balance from this hit and fell down on his knees and hands he tried to stand but was met with an overhead swing of rabbits two paws, fist in other hand tightly clenched, in his back. Now the Wolf was face in the mud, rabbit grabbed him by the shoulders and turned him over. Rabbit proceeded to turn him over, Wolf coughed up some mud then his muzzle has held by the rabbits' paw and saw how the other was clenched in a fist, he was about to get second pummelling there was a bit of a odd pause.

However, the pause was severed by a loud boom. Johnny and Wolf quickly looked to the side toward the Boar since it came from his direction, the Armoured Boar was holding what seemed to be a old rusty revolver in the air and the smoke was floating upwards from its barrel towards the bright moon. "That's enough!" Board yelled "You done well, kid. And you Willy you should try be less reckless." Board said, he then bended over and threw into the pit a rope ladder. "Now you two get up here and back into your quarters, you need some sleep and shower. Because tomorrow we will do some practice with staves." Then the Boar stomped off. "Not bad, kid." Someone said. Johnny turned his head towards the wolf in the mud, it was him who was talking. Wolf´s voice was young yet it had a mature tone, rabbit guessed his name was Will too. Bunny stood up straight and extended his arm towards the wolf "Thanks," Will said and accepted the help to get up "you turned to be a pretty good fighter." Bunny gave a small nod to that compliment. "Come on let's get something warm." Said the wolf and started to make his way up the ladder, as much as the rabbit wanted to go up the ladder too out of this mud pit his sense were suddenly overwhelmed by an ear piercing loud mechanical noise. He closed his eyes forcefully and covered his floppy ears and yelled.

He opened them again he found himself in his bed and in instinctively slammed his paw at the bed table next him, it was the alarm clock that was doing that awful noise. Johnny felt dehydrated and sweaty all over. He sit up on the side of his bed, took a deep long breath and exhaled then he looked at the alarm clock that was slightly dis-positioned. It was seven in the morning. "Just another nightmare," he pressed his paws into his face: "just another nightmare."
