As the sunlight came in through the window, they woke up slowly, stretching out as Leon asked, "Sleep well, sweet heart?" Nodding, April snuggled into Leon's chest not wanting to get up as a knock on the door sounded. "Guess its time to get up, April," Leon sighed as he started to get out of bed and dressing to go meet the wolf at the door. Groaning, April got out of bed and dressed quickly so she could follow Leon as he opened the door to see a group of males with specific intentions in their eyes.

"Leon, it's been three days now, if we don't make a plan soon, we will lose our chance to hunt down Barry," John said standing in the front of the group. "Either we can hold trial with Barry or without Barry, the decision is yours but if a decision isn't made soon, some decisions will be made for you." Leon understood the unspoken meaning behind John's words, if Leon didn't start the hunt now, they would challenge his position of alpha and then April would be judged harsher than most and he wasn't willing to allow that.

"Okay, have the men meet me by the entrance of our village and we'll start there for our hunt," Leon informed them all. "The scent should still be strong enough for us to pick up for a few more days. Remember, we bring Barry in alive, or he can't be held for trial." With this, Leon waved his paw in dismissal and closed the door behind him to see April standing behind him trembling.

"So, what will happen if you don't find Barry?" April couldn't help the quiver in her voice as she asked nervously.

"You will be safe regardless," Leon hugged her tight comforting her, "I will make sure we find him even if I have to rip the planet apart to find him. Now, I'll have Crystal and Mark come over if you like to keep you safe while I'm away." Leon stepped away waiting for her answer with worry in his eyes for her safety.

"I'd feel better with Crystal only being here, honestly, that way Mark can watch your back incase the pack decides to turn on you while you hunt for Barry," April replied. Nodding, Leon went out the door to go look for Crystal and Mark to inform them of the plan. Waiting for what felt like an eternity, a knock finally sounded at the door making April jump.

"April, its just me," Crystal called, "I'm coming on in now." Crystal slowly turned the knob and poked her head in with a sympathetic smile. "Everything's going to be okay April, we just have to trust in the men to find Barry. Do you wanna go see the men off on their hunt?"

Perking up slightly, April asked, "Am I allowed to see them off?" Nodding, Crystal grabbed Aprils paw pulling her out the front door to go see the men off. The whole pack was gathered around to see the men who was going hunting off with hopes that it wouldn't take long to find and capture Barry so they could all put this behind them.

"This is how it's going to go," Leon was announcing loudly so everyone could hear as he locked eyes with April for a moment then continued. "We will be splitting into packs of three each, and have designated meeting places each night until we find Barry. This may be a long hunt but hopefully won't last much longer than a week. If it does, I expect everyone here to run the pack as normal, with or without me present. No one is to harm April in my absence either until we have the trial. Now, we will return as soon as possible. Happy hunting my friends." With that, Leon started the hunt with a howl that became a chorus as the group of hunters changed to their feral form standing on all fours as Leon picked up the path April had came home on that dreadful day.

As the group left, the rest of the pack dispersed not making eye contact with April so not to feel Crystal's fury as they walked by. Crystal lead April home as they had girl time while waiting for the men to come home. The pack ran things on their own as Leon had asked of them with their own rumors of what may have happened while April and Crystal stayed inside for most of the time. A few of the pack checked on April in the coming days bringing food for certain meals to make sure she was okay.

A week had passed and everyone was getting anxious with each passing day thinking the men should've been back by now especially April, who had a positive pregnancy test. The only one to know was Crystal because they didn't want the rest of the pack knowing for fear of what they'd do despite Leon's threats and demands. Crystal took care of any pack dealings so April wouldn't have to face the judging glares and rumored whispers. The next morning there was a commotion outside full of howling and barking that brought everyone to the front of the village, including April and Crystal. The men were finally back after being gone for over a week dragging a banged up Barry behind them, paws tied up with vine as he walked but mostly forced forward on his feet by the ropy vine lead by Leon who had a few new scars to sport.

The rest of the men walked beside, and behind Barry to make sure he didn't do anything as well as to protect him from the rest of the angered pack. They could only resort to snapping their jaws, barking, and snarling towards him to vent their fury for the disturbance he had caused to the pack. As they led Barry through the crowd, Leon's eyes fell on April, and he gave him a grim smile knowing how hard this is going to be for her. She will have to stand in front of the pack and explain her side of the story of what happened.

Stopping in the middle of the pack, Leon announced loudly, "Barry will stand trial in the morning, he will be held in the cave until then. No one is to be near that cave without my say." Giving a jerk on the vine, Leon led Barry to his prison for the night as the pack separated for Leon while they still snapped and barked at Barry's back. Once there, Leon shoved Barry into the cave, placing a giant metal gate in front of it so Barry couldn't escape his fate.

"Mark, you guard this cave for me," Leon ordered, "I'm going to go spend some time with April and I'll send Crystal to you, so you can have time together as well." Nodding, Mark stood at attention in front of the cave as Leon dismissed the rest of the men and had them help disperse the pack. Leon went in search of April finding her close by hugging her tight and informing Crystal of where Mark was. Leon then led April home, keeping her close to his side until they was both inside safely.

"Leon, I have some news for you," April said once the door was shut, blocking off the outside world so it was only him and her in the moment. Leon only looked at April eyebrow raised awaiting the news. With ears lowered she quietly whispered, "I'm pregnant."

Leon's tired features changed very slowly as the news hit him, his eyes widening and ears pricking as he whispered, "You're pregnant?" When April nodded, not trusting herself to speak without her voice cracking, he hugged her tightly. "You don't need to worry, sweetie, everything is going to be okay, I promise," he comforted her.

"You're not angry?" she asked confused, figuring he'd be furious not knowing whose child she carried.

"I'm not angry, April," Leon comforted, "we won't know the outcome until the child is born, but I will not take anything out on you for something that is not your fault." Looking into Leon's eyes, April's eyes started to fill with water as the stress of everything that has happened finally became too much and buried her face in his fur sobbing as he rubbed her back. "It'll be okay sweetie, come on, let's get some food, wash up, and rest, for tomorrow will start a long trial." Sniffing, April allowed Leon to lead her to the bedroom while he showered and made some food for them. Once they had eaten, they curled up together for a restless nights sleep, anxious about the mornings trial.
