#17 of Hypnovember 2023

Azure has taught Tapa about inductions and deepeners. The next lesson should be obvious, right?

This one was claimed by Bluedude ! And it continues the plot from prompts 1 and 2.

When Tapa opened his eyes and awareness returned to his mind, he had the feeling that he'd been under for days, even though it should have only been minutes. A bit longer than an hour, at most.

The monkey rubbed his eyes and stretched, sitting up on his chair and wiping the drool off his mouth. He blinked slowly as his pupils got used to the light in the room again.

"Wow," he muttered. "That sure was a trip."

Azure was sitting in front of him. Tired of standing up, the skunk seemed to have brought another chair for himself to the room. If he hadn't been larger than Tapa, they would have been more or less looking straight into each other's eyes now.

"You enjoyed that, then?"

"Yeah..." Tapa scratched the back of his head and smiled. "At first you began talking about theoretical stuff and staircases and I wasn't sure what was going to happen. But I'm glad I agreed to this! This was a good experience."

Azure chuckled softly.

"Why, do you think it's over already?"

At first, Tapa thought the skunk was pulling his leg. It took him a few seconds to realize his friend was serious.

"What?" he asked. "Didn't you just... wake me up?"

"Oh, but hypnosis doesn't end when the subject wakes up, hun," Azure said, a wide grin spreading on his face. "What's left is the most fun part."

Tapa tilted his head, slightly confused.

"What do you mean?"

Azure chuckled.

"Well, when you hear 'hypnosis', what do you usually think about?"

"Freaky guys with pocketwatches?"

"Try again, hun."

"Uh... People doing silly stuff?" the monkey suggested.

Azure nodded this time. It was weird, but the monkey felt slightly happy as soon as a gleam of satisfaction went through the skunk's eyes.

"That's right. And we still haven't made you do anything silly, have we?"

Tapa chuckled nervously.

"I just assumed you had made me do that stuff while I was asleep!"

"Oh." Azure looked curious. "So what do you actually remember from your trance?"

"Not much. I remember listening to your words, feeling light, imagining a staircase, and then..." The monkey scratched the back of his head again. "Everything went sort of blank. Is that wrong? Should I remember?"

Azure chuckled softly and crossed his arms on his chest.

"I told you to do whatever you felt more comfortable with, silly. You could either remember or forget. Seems you went for the latter, which is... interesting."

"In what way is it interesting?" Tapa asked, genuinely confused. He wasn't entirely sure he was following.

"Hmm, it looks to me as if the asleep you, the one I was just talking with, wants to keep some things hidden from the awake you," Azure explained. "Probably because he thinks it'll be much more fun this way."

"What is it keeping hidden from me?"

Azure held his gaze for a moment, as if trying to decide whether he was serious or not. Then, he simply lifted one hand and snapped his fingers.

"Hot."

Tapa opened his mouth to ask what that had to do with their conversation, but never got to speak a single word. A weird feeling invaded his body just as he was thinking of replying - like somebody has just put a sweater on his body. Two sweaters. Perhaps... ten sweaters.

"W... what is this?" he asked, a soft huff coming out his throat. He couldn't help but stand up from the chair and fan his face with one hand. That didn't help at all - instead, the heat just seemed to intensify. It wasn't only the part of his body the sweater - a sweater he wasn't wearing - covered, but also his legs.

And inside! He was also feeling extremely hot. Like someone had set a fire in his chest and it was now consuming everything. The monkey turned to Azure, tongue lolling out as he huffed, begging for an answer.

"_This_is a trigger," Azure explained calmly from his seat. "While you were in trance and your mind was nice and suggestible, I programmed you to react in a certain way to a word I'd say. I use the snap to reinforce the idea and because I'm a sucker for the classics, but it's completely optional."

Tapa didn't get to the end of the explanation without taking off his clothes. First, he removed his shirt - that by then felt like a thousand sweaters - and then he removed his belt and let his jeans drop to the floor.

"Fuck, it feels like I'm in the middle of the desert," Tapa complained. He couldn't stop panting. He could have sworn small clouds of steam were coming out his mouth every time he was breathing out, but that was impossible. "It's too real, dude. It's like I'm in a sauna!"

"A sauna or a desert, hun?" Azure asked teasingly. "Make up your mind."

"It's the same thing!"

Azure chuckled again. He noticed only then that Tapa, who had been fanning himself with his shirt, was about to remove his underwear as well. Perhaps I should use the other trigger, the skunk thought. Before he does something he'll regret.

He snapped his fingers again.

"Cold."

Tapa turned to look at him, immediately guessing what he had done. Again, he was about to protest, but then he bent over and crossed his arms on his chest, rubbing his forearms.

"F-fuck! Okay, no k-k-kidding."

"Are your teeth really chattering, hun?" the skunk asked. There was a playful smirk on his face as he watched the monkey shiver in front of him. "Is it really so intense? I wasn't expecting it to hit you so hard."

"It's... g-god, it's f-f-fucking freezing!!"

Azure tilted his head, a smile on his lips. He'd known his words would have an effect on the monkey, but he was surprised that he was reacting so well to the triggers. Not everyone got them so well in their first try.

"Okay, listen to me," he said, feeling a bit bad for the shivering monkey. He opened his arms wide. "Come hug me now. You'll see that makes you feel much better."

"Is that a t-t-trigger as well?"

Azure smiled.

"No, it's not. But trust me. It'll work."

The monkey didn't need to be told twice. He walked closer to the skunk and sat on his lap, still shuddering. Azure wrapped his big arms around the smaller monkey's frame, covering him with warm, soft fur. The monkey seemed to calm down a bit.

"Is it helping?" the skunk asked.

"Yeah..." Tapa answered softly. "Damn, I was feeling really cold."

"Sorry, hun. I just wanted to show you how it works. My bad."

Tapa shook his head and leant on Azure's chest, which appeared to him as a great source of warmth.

"It's okay," he reassured the skunk. "I was just as surprised as you were. In fact, I'm surprised I'm not feeling so cold anymore."

"A part of you is still suggestible," Azure explained, "which is why with proper phrasing I can make certain suggestions work for you even if you're not in trance now."

Tapa wasn't entirely sure how that worked, but he nodded and let out a soft sigh. He noticed only then that he was still in his underwear, his body pushing against Azure's as he searched for warmth. At least he wasn't feeling so cold anymore.

"This is nice though," he ended up saying.

"It is," Azure agreed. He lowered his gaze to meet Tapa's and stared straight into his eyes. "So why don't I make it up to you for making you feel so cold, hun? Do you think you'd like that?"

Tapa hesitated a bit. He could see the implications of those words in Azure's gaze. Initially, they had met only for what was supposed to be a playful demonstration of hypnosis. Would it be okay if things evolved further than that?

Azure seemed to guess what he was thinking.

"If you think you'd be comfortable with that, that is."

"Uh, yeah," Tapa answered. "Yeah, I think I'd like that."

After all, he was practically naked on the skunk's lap. What could he lose?
