Chapter Three.

Freedom Celebration on Chakona.

The green field was wide and full of pretty things, flutterbys, birdies and wabbits. The little chakat cub giggled and chased after the flutterbys, leaping in the air. Shi knew that shi couldn't catch them, but it was fun trying to. Shi loved how they flitter and flew so delicately in the air. They were also pretty, blue, red, green and orange.

When one landed on a log, the cub would creep and crawl, trying to pounce on the small insect, but to no prevail. They always seem to get away, fluttering up and just out of reach. When shi was tired of the flutterbys, shi would then try and catch the birdies, but they always seem to be too high up in the trees, and shi just watched them twitter and fly around, hir tail twitching back and forth.

Then hunger starts to set in, so shi went to the small pond and watch the fish swimming around, then shi closed hir eyes and imagined the fish, cooked, on a plate with a serving of hot chips. Opening hir eyes, shi smiled as the plate was there, with the fish and chips. Chomping down the fish, shi could taste the unique flavour on hir tongue, and then shi took a chip and ate that as well.

After the meal, shi stretched out and purred with content, feeling the warmth of the sun on hir fur, warming hir body, making hir feel drowsy. As shi lay there on the grass, the cub watched the clouds fly by, white and fluffy. Soon shi was dozing, dreaming of the wabbits, and what they would taste like. While shi was sleeping, a gentle touch to hir cheek made hir murr and curl up into a ball. It smelled like hir mother, and shi smiled.

Shortly there after, shi awoke and stretched, letting out a loud meowling yawn, then shi stood up and walked over the lake, where shi washed hir face and drank.

Once that was done, shi went stalking the wabbits, but they seem to be playing keep away, and always seem to get away. Hiding in their holes, and peek their cute little heads out, and teased hir to try and catch them.

Shortly, shi was hungry again, so shi closed hir eyes and thought of wabbit stew, and once again, it magically appeared.

Shi ate the meal and smiled at the taste, the vegies, the meat and the flavoured soup.

Once again full, the cub noticed that it was getting dark, and storm clouds began to cluster off in the distance.

Dashing quickly, shi entered a cave and started a fire, to keep warm from the cold rain and wind outside.

Then shi felt something, an invisible touch, warm and caring, stroking hir fur. Shi curled up and into a ball, smiling and purring, then shi woke from hir dreamland with a yawn, to see hir dad smiling down at hir.

Shi kisslicked him on his cheek when he gave hir one. Hir dad, a dark skinned human had sired hir when he mated with hir mom, a chakat.

"Morning dada, breakfast?" shi chirped excitedly.

"Yes, what do you want today?" he asked, opening his arms.

Shi thought for a moment, then bounded to hir feet and leapt into his waiting arms.

"Waffles, jam and cream." Shi answered.

"Please?"

"Please!" shi said, nuzzling his chin, and giggled as his rough stubble tickled hir nose.

"Done, but you have to eat everything up, deal?" he said, offering hir his fist.

"Deal" shi replied, punching his fist with one of hir own small fists.

"Piggy back, piggy back" shi squealed.

"OK," he said, placing hir on his shoulder, and shi moved around and held him with all 7 limbs.

"And the horses have bolted from the gates, thundering down the tracks," he said, bounding up and down and around the crib. Solarblaze was giggling hysterically; hir tail started slapping against his bum.

"Faster dada, faster, we're gonna win."

Stephan left the room, and continued with his race commentary. "Stephan is now on the home stretch, but the other horses are close behind, will he cross the line before the others?" he said, bounding down the hall towards the lounge, Solarblaze laughing and whooping.

Reaching the lounge and falling onto the large mattress both father and child hugged and laughed together. Then in chorus they said.

"And the winner, by a nose, is Stephan, gallant stallion of the Black claw clan."

Just then, Solarblaze's step-sister and hir mom, a herm foxtaur, entered the lounge, and soon they both were tickling their dad, making him giggle and squirm under their assault.
