When Day Meets Knight

It had all started like a normal approach to the weekend; Jonathon had finished his duty

shift for the week on Thursday and so had the entire weekend free. "Trisha and I have

been so busy lately that we haven't seen much of each other." Jonathon mused to

himself as he walked up to his front door. Jonathon had made some plans for him and

this long time girl friend Trisha. Now Friday morning came and Jonathon ate a quick

breakfast and got on the phone to call Trisha. The phone rang a few times the a lovely

voice spoke on the other end, "Hello, Day residence." The voice said sweetly.

"Hello, my dear." Jonathon responded doing his best to match the tone from the other

phone.

"Oh, Hi Jonathon what are you doing home today?" Trisha queried.

"I have the entire weekend off duty this time and I thought we needed to do some

catching up my sweet. So are you free today? I thought we could take a drive out to the

lake and have a nice picnic lunch."

"That sound absolutely wonderful, when will you be here?"

"I can be there in an hour, is that enough time for you to get ready?"

"Yeah, an hours good I can't wait. See you soon."

Jonathon smiled as he heard the Trisha hang up on the other end. He knew she would

be straight up stairs to shower so he had time.

Jonathon walked into his study and flicked on his computer screen, as the screen

brightened he clicked on an icon in the shape of a winged upside down black triangle.

The screen went blank for a moment then the same logo appeared in a larger size with

the letters ASL inside it. A box popped up asking for a user id and pass code, Jonathon

quickly entered the requested data and clicked submit. After a few seconds the

speakers came to life, "Pass code accepted welcome back captain". Jonathon's smile

broadened as he navigated through the secure link to his office, he finally found the icon

he was looking for and double clicked it. Another box appeared which read, "please

enter target location", and he entered the name of the lake that he was planning to visit

and hit the enter key. The screen went blank again except for a small box in the center,

which said, "Stand by". After a brief moment an image appeared on the screen of the

lake and its surrounds as viewed from above, Jonathon studied the satellite image for a

moment before zooming in on the road leading to the lake, "Perfect," he thought to

himself no tire marks. Then he noticed something and leaned closer to the screen as if

to get a better look at it, he quickly clicked a icon labeled "Thermal" and the image

changed to show the heat signatures in the area. He studied the image than saw what

he was looking for, and sighed in relief, "just a deer." He said to himself chuckling

slightly. He clicked the "log off" icon and turned off the screen as he stood up.

An hour later Jonathon pulled into Trisha's driveway and turned off the car. He was

barely halfway to her door when she rushed out and tackled him to the ground with a

huge hug and a deep kiss. Jonathon liked it when she was in this sort of mood. They

broke the kiss and he stared up into her bottomless blue eyes, and smiled he still could

not understand what she saw in him, she was for lack of a better word perfect about 5'

10" the softest brown hair which fell just around her shoulders, her breasts not to large

but not to small, and last but certainly not least those blue eyes. "I missed you lately."

She said breaking him from his trance.

"And I have missed you my love." He said softly beaming a smile.

"Come on let's get going I don't want to waste one more second of our time together."

He said rising form the ground. They both got in Jonathon's four-wheel drive truck and

backed out of the drive.

The sun was high overhead as the truck pulled into the little used parking area at the

lake, the two lovers got out and Jonathon grabbed the picnic basket and large blanket he

had packed. "Lead the way my dear." He smiled at Trisha, who turned and walked down

the trail to the beach. They arrived at the beach after twenty or so yards, and Trisha

took the blanket from Jonathon spreading it out under the shade of a big pine tree.

Jonathon set the picnic lunch down and then sunk down onto the blanket beside his

love. The two proceeded to eat the meal that Jonathon had made, after they had

finished the meal and put away all the dishes again Jonathon stood up and reached out

a hand. Trisha grabbed his hand as he hauled her up to her feet, the two set out for a

walk around the lakeshore. After about a half hour had passed Jonathon looked over to

Trisha with a smile and asked, "Feel like a swim?"

Trisha beamed at him then sighed, "But I didn't bring my suit." She said a little

downhearted. Jonathon only smiled wider and he leaned closer to her to whisper,

"Nether did I." Trisha looked at him in shock then smiled jumping up into his arms as

she gave him a deep and passionate kiss, which he quickly returned, their tongues

mingling with one another. He reluctantly broke the kiss as he let her down gently. The

both began to undress each other until Jonathon was left in his boxers and Trisha in just

her bra and panties. They held hands as they ran into the crystal clear water of the lake;

the water was warm this time of year and felt so good as they played splashing each

other happily. After an hour or so the both stumbled out of the water panting slightly

from the energy they had just expended. Since there they were the only to at the lake

they just picked up their clothes and walked slowly back to where they had left the

blanket, they leaned into each other as they walked just enjoying the others company.

When they reached the site of the blanket they sank down to rest both now dry from the

warm sun during the walk back. The sun was a little lower in the sky when Trisha Fell

asleep in Jonathon's arms as he stroked her hair and ran his hands over her sleeping

form drawing some soft moans of pleaser as he did so. The temperature had dropped a

few degrees when Trisha woke up shivering a little, but still warmed from her lover

holding her in his arms. She smiled up at him lost in the green eyes that looked back at

her. "I think we should get dressed now before one of use gets a cold and ruins the rest

of the weekend." She said playfully noticing the slight shiver he was trying to hide. They

got up and dressed slowly, taking time to admire each other in the afternoon light.

The drive back from the lake was passed mostly in silence with the occasional giggle

from the two as their minds played with ideas of what would happen next. As pulled up

into the driveway of Jonathon's two-story home it was about four in the afternoon and

the sun was beginning its trip through the bottom quarter of the sky. They entered his

house and the door had barely clicked shut when Trisha spun round and embraced

Jonathon, Jonathon returned the embrace smelling the sweet scent of her hair, it was

intoxicating to him like the smell of jasmine and peppermint. He smiled at her drinking in

her beauty as it were water and him dieing of thirst, he could never get enough of her.

He whispered softly as they stood in his living room, "you know I think we need a

shower," as he broke the embrace he held tight to her hand "are you coming?" She just

smiled and moved to follow him up stairs. They stood in the bathroom as the water from

the shower heated up they took to striping each other slowly, with great care and

tenderness their eyes almost never separating. They step into the shower together and

began working over each other's bodies with infinite care and attention. Trisha's eyes

strayed down Jonathon's body, she had never fully noticed how handsome he was with

his chest muscles nicely outlined but not over done his strong legs and oh yes his well

endowed man hood which was standing to attention from her careful caressing. Trisha

slid slowly down to her knees before taking the head of Jonathon's tool in-between her

warm wet lips. The sensation was nearly too much for him as his legs went weak, but

he steadied himself as Trisha slowly slide her warm sucking mouth up and down his

man hood. Slowly she worked it taking him in all the way down to the base of his cock

as one hand fondled his already tightening sack. He was breathing heavily as his hips

rocked back and forth in time with the movements of his lover. Trisha ran her tongue

along the belly of his cock as Jonathon ran his hands through her wet hair. She could

feel his prick growing as she kept up her determined assault, Jonathon moaned with

pleaser as Trisha worked him with a skill he had never imagined before. Trisha moved

up his length leaving only his head in her lips her tongue teased his eye and then she

plunged back down his length taking him into her throat sucking him all the way down, it

was too much for him. Jonathon grunted as he rocked forward, Trisha feeling his cock

pulsing in her mouth swallowed hard to try and keep up. Despite her best efforts his

seed leaked out from the corners of her mouth. She let his still spurting tool slip from her

lips and rose up to face Jonathon. He met her eyes then leaned forward kissing her lips

with a deep passion and was welcomed by her still creamy tongue he savored the taste

for a while before breaking the kiss. "That was wonderful," he murmured, "but you

should save some strength for later." They finished showering and dried off before

returning down stairs.

By this time the sun was setting lower in the sky, but Trisha took no notice of it too

preoccupied with her love to really care much. Together they sat and kissed on the

couch each fondling the others body happy just to be with each other. Trisha barely

noticed the tingling itch that had begun to affect her skin as she locked in yet another

deep kiss with Jonathon. Suddenly the itch forgotten until now became a slight burning

under her skin, she sat bolt upright with a loud gasp. How could she have forgotten that

it was a full moon tonight, she should have been home hours ago. Jonathon could see

the distress in her eyes and turned to her, "what's wrong Trisha?" he pleaded to her.

She rose from her seat scratching the back of her right hand and forearm, "I have to go

home," she stammered. She took two steps towards the door and started to collapse.

Jonathon darted from the couch to catch her and cushion her fall, arriving her before she

hit the floor. The change now well underway as Trisha's clothes where starting to

hamper her breathing, as her body grew and hair started to grow all over her. Jonathon

dashed to his study and returned with a pair of heavy clothes scissors, he started to

carefully but quickly cut away her shirt starting at the bottom moving up her chest now

well covered in a soft dark gray fur. Her could hear her breathing ease while it was still

quite rapid; he gingerly cut down the arms of her shirt being careful not to pinch her skin

or cut her. Once he had finished with the shirt he started to work on her already

overstressed pants work from the top down each leg with the same loving care he

always showed her. After he finished he could do no more for her and the scissors fell

to the floor with a soft but unheard thud on the carpet. He could see that she was

suffering and could only guess at the pain that she must be going through. Jonathon

just sat on the floor holding the one he loved so much as the change slowed her eyes

closed until now fluttered open revealing the previously blue eyes that now glowed a

deep yellow in the light of the moon through the window. He just stroked her head fur

looking at her with the same loving and compassion that his eyes always held for her, he

felt something soft brush his leg and he turned his head to see a beautiful furry tail of the

same dark gray brushing against him. Jonathon could not help but smile at Trisha at the

sight of her tail. The change finally slowed to a stop.

Trisha looked up at him and pulled away form him feeling a sense of shame at what he

might think of her, tears began to fill her eyes as she turned her face away from him and

buried her head in her arms.

"Hey now, " Jonathon said softly with a soothing tone to his voice, "What is all this, come

here my love, there's no need for tears here." Tears of sympathy welling up in his own

eyes, he blinked a few times to hold them back. He reached out and with gentleness

previously unknown to her took hold of her snout and started to turn her back to him, she

began to turn away again but he held her firm but gentle still. She finally gave in to his

persistence and turned to face him tears running down the fur of her face. He smiled

down at her as she lay in his lap even though she was now a good eight inches taller

than him, she started to smile back but when she realized how her teeth must look her

stopped and replaced her paw hands over her face. Jonathon just pulled her close to

him and held her while she clamed down. Finally she looked up into his eyes expecting

to see something akin to fear or loathing but found only the same deep pools of warmth,

compassion, and understanding that where always there. She smiled again snuffling a

little to ebb the tide of tears rolling down around her muzzle.

"I... I though you would be upset with me this way." Trisha sniffled still fighting to hold

back tears from her eyes.

"Trisha, my darling I love you no matter what you look like, you could turn into a Minotaur

and it still would not change the way I feel about you." Jonathon answered holding back

tears of his own. "And besides I think you look just as beautiful with that gray fur of

yours."

"I am sooo, sorry I didn't tell you before but I thought you might reject me for who when I

am like this." Trisha stammered.

"I do wish you had told me earlier, but I understand why you didn't and what's done is

done. I know now and there is nothing you could do or be that would make me stop

loving you." Jonathon almost choked on the words in an attempt to hold back tears

again.

Trisha just put her head in against her chest and felt his heart beating in its slow steady

rhythm never changing; she looked up into his face and gave him a playful lick on the

cheek. He smiled down at her and she smiled back feeling warm and secure in his arms

knowing that he would always love and cherish her.

They where brought back to reality when an audible rumble emanated up from Trish's

stomach, the change had taken a lot out of her and she was feeling very hungry.

Jonathon looked down at her and smiled, "You must be absolutely starving after what

you just went through, come on I have some steaks in the fridge."

Trisha smiled back at the mention of food and she held on as Jonathon half pulled her to

her feet. Together they walked the short distance to the kitchen Trisha's claws clicking

on the tiles as she walked.

"Now then how do you want it cooked or uncooked he?" Jonathon said as he pulled two

big rump steaks out of the fridge.

"Just raw will be fine," Trisha answers a slight growl in her voice.

"Well, ok then," Jonathon said as he placed the two steaks on a plate and set it down in

front of his love who was sitting a the table already. He stood up and walked around the

table grabbing a banana out of the near by fruit bowl before sitting down across from

Trisha.

"Aren't you having one," Trisha asked a little puzzled.

"No, " Jonathon replied with a grin. "This will do me just fine," he said waving the

banana slightly, "and besides you need to eat more than I do to get back some of that

energy you lost."

She smiled and started in on the steaks, finishing each one in about four big bites.

Afterwards she felt much better; Jonathon finished his fruit and placed the peel in the

trash and Trisha's plate in the sink. The two of them returned to the living room and

spent the rest of the evening just enjoying holding each other in their arms and drifted

into an easy sleep.

It was well after midnight when Jonathon was wakened from his sleep by a stirring

against his right side, he opened his eyes to see Trisha squirming slightly as she slept.

He smiled looking down at what he figured had to be the most lovely creature on the

planet; she had one furred arm draped around his shoulders. He felt her paw hand

tense and relax as she dreamt, he winced as one of her sharp claws scraped across his

arm drawing blood as it passed. Being very careful not to disturb her he reached around

and grabbed a tissue, which he quickly folded in quarters, placing it on this arm to stem

the blood flow.

Jonathon did not notice when Trisha awoke, but when he looked down at her he found

himself staring into her glowing yellow eyes. "Good morning," he whispered to her.

Trisha's eyes darted over to a clock hanging on the wall of the living room, twenty-five

past midnight it read, and she smiled at his humor. She noticed the tissue he held to his

arm and looked at him in shock realizing she had caused it, she started to frown.

Jonathon reading her face piped up cheerfully, "It's nothing just a little scratch that's all."

She smiled at the fact that he did not seem to mind, after all he loved her very much that

was clear. When she look up at him again he seemed lost in deep thought an unusual

frown hanging on his face. "What's wrong?" Trisha asked a little concerned over his

expression.

He blinked snapping back to reality, "Oh," he said softly, "I was just thinking I said to you

that I wished you had told me about you sooner, but there are a few things that I should

tell you about me since we are on the subject of secrets."

"Really, tell me what is so secret that you needed to hid it from me." She said almost

joking.

"Well," Jonathon started taking a deep breath, "The Company that I work for is basically

an independent military organization which nobody knows exists."

Trisha almost would have laughed at his statement if it were not for the serious and sad

look of guilt on his face. She just smiled, "Oh, that's not so bad." She said lightly. When

Jonathon's face didn't change she know there was more to it than that.

"Look, perhaps it would be easier to understand if you saw for yourself." He took her by

the hand as they rose from the couch where they had been sleeping, and they walked

hand in hand to his study. Jonathon walked her around the desk and sat her down in his

chair, her tail fitting nicely in the gap between the seat and backrest. Jonathon sat on

the edge of the desk and flipped on the monitor, after a moment the normal screen

appeared. Jonathon leaned over to Trisha, "This computer is fitted with a very special

kind of voice recognition software, just watch. Computer," he stated in a clear firm voice,

"Open ASL uplink." The screen changed as they watched and the box for user log on

appeared in the ASL logo, a curser bar blinked in the user id portion of the box. "Ford

Jonathon Captain," he said as the computer entered the data nearly as fast as he said it.

"Fast computer," Trisha though to herself as Jonathon entered the pass code. "Id

confirmed, welcome Captain," the computer answered interrupting her train of thought.

"Computer, access personnel files for Captain Jonathon Ford and display the results."

He nearly barked to the computer. A small bow with the words "One moment" appeared

on the screen but was quickly replaced by a chest up photo of Jonathon in uniform and

all the data pertaining to him.

Trisha smiled up at, "You look very handsome in that uniform yah know." That comment

drew a smile to his face. She scanned the text on the screen reading the things she

knew about him, height, weight, hair and eye color. She stopped at the bottom of the

page at a title labeled duties and positions; she looked to him seemingly asking for

approval to read on. Jonathon nodded wordlessly and she clicked the down arrow

button. A full page of data spread down the screen, Trisha read it taking all in the

occasional gasp parting her lips. She stopped reading on a line about half way down the

page at the words which read, "Command positions: Commanding Officer Dark Knights

(special forces unit), Flight Leader Bravo combat training squadron, Flight Leader Echo

squadron current status operational combat patrol, Chair ASL High Council."

Trisha could not believe what she had just read, the man she loved and though she

knew so well was in fact a well trained fighting machine. The look that filled the once

placid eyes could only be described as akin to terror.

Jonathon read her face and eyes, a habit born of long practice, his head hung lower in

his shoulders, his eyes welling up with tears, which he tried to hide. Trisha looked at him

thoughtfully for a few long moments unsure of what to say, than she thought to her self, "

this man loves you more than anyone else and he accepted you without question for

who and what you are, doesn't he deserve as much." Then she smiled at him returning

the same gesture he had used to her, turning his face to meet hers with a strong paw

hand.

"I love you, no matter what you do or who you are in that uniform." She said softly and

reassuringly to him. He wiped his eyes with the back of his hand sniffling slightly before

smiling, "I do love you so my darling." They leaned into each other and their lips met in a

breathless kiss.

"Do you still trust me?" Jonathon asked his lover, smiling as if he already knew the

answer.

"Of coarse I still trust you, Jonathon and I always will. I love you so very much." Trisha

replied smiling back to him.

"Do you like being a werewolf?" Jonathon asked shyly.

"Huh?"

"I mean aside from the change between being human and werewolf, do you enjoy being

one?"

"Yeah, I suppose I do enjoy being a werewolf, but it does have its downside."

Jonathon smiled; he had hoped she would give such an answer. He took her hand

sliding of the edge of his desk as he pulled her up to him, this time he looked up into her

eyes.

"If it were possible to stay a werewolf full time and not have to hide it would you take the

chance?" Jonathon asked his eyes full of love and hope, changed as Trisha took a long

slow breath contemplating the idea. His eyes studied her trying to read her face, to gain

some clue as to what she was thinking.

"Yes, I would take that chance, but it's just not possible Jonathon."

"It may not be as impossible as you think, but I do not know for sure." Jonathon said as

they started to leave the study. "Will you come with me?"

"To where?"

"To my office, or one of them anyway."

"Ok." Trisha answered starting to feel somewhat nervous.

"Computer, Log off and shut down." Jonathon ordered without turning around.

The two stood in the middle of the living room hand in hand gazing into each other's

eyes. Jonathon looked at his watch and gently taped a small button on its right side, the

watch emitted a low double beep then a voice spoke through it.

"Go ahead sir," the voice said.

"Two to transport for the SD Tiberian," Jonathon commanded.

"Yes sir, stand by." The voice responded.

"This may tingle a little my love, just hold on to me."

Trisha felt a slight twinge in her back and started to gasp but was cut off as two bars of

light appeared and passed through her once then twice.

She blinked and when her eyes opened again they were not longer in Jonathon's living

room, but in a room seemingly filled with electronic equipment. She felt weak in the

knees, but she could feel her loves arms around her and she maintained her balance.

Just then she became a where of another person in the room. She spun to face this

new presence, fear in her eyes. Jonathon held her tightly to him as her gaze fell on a

young man standing behind a console. The young man smiled and bowed his head

slightly before snapping to attention and saluting Jonathon, Jonathon returned the

gesture and smile.

"Glad to see you again sir," the man spoke up, "and who is this lovely looking creature

you have with you?"

Trisha smiled the fear fading from her eyes. Trisha looked down at Jonathon as if to

say, "Well who is he."

Jonathon cleared his voice, "Trisha, I would like you to meet Lieutenant Carman, the

chief transport operator aboard the Star Destroyer Tiberian the SD-2. And Lieutenant I

would like you to meet the love of my life and reason to come home, Trisha."

Lt. Carman bowed his head again, "A pleasure to meet you ma'am."

"Likewise." Trisha answered blushing slightly beneath her fur.

"Lieutenant," Jonathon said snapping the young mans head back in his direction, " Could

you reset the system and send us directly to my office at Base 1." The young Lieutenant

looked at Jonathon curiously for a moment before replying, "Yes sir, just hold one

minute." Lt. Carman studied his control panel pressing the occasional lighted button.

"Ah there, ok stand by," He chirped smiling at the two lovers standing on the pad. "See

you next time." Carman said as he pushed the execute key and the pad lit up with a

buzz the two light beams reappearing and passing through Jonathon and Trisha twice

before blinking out of existence again. Trisha opened her eyes to find she was now in a

spacious office with a rather large desk up against one wall Jonathon half pulled a

stunned Trisha over to his desk were she promptly flopped into one of the large

comfortable chairs that were arranged in front of the desk. Jonathon slide into the chair

next to her with a grin spread from ear to ear.

Trisha looked him in the eye still trying to recover from one of the most shocking ordeals

in her life, in the space of five minutes she had learned that things existed that she

thought were impossible. Jonathon's smile soon faded from his face and was replaced

by a questioning look.

"I don't think that I will EVER get used to that." Trisha nearly exploded. Jonathon

thought not for the first time it was good that the walls of his office were soundproof.

It had taken a few days for Trisha to get used to being in werewolf form all the time, but

Jonathon was at her side when she needed him to be and kept to the rest of his duties

as best he could. He had returned to their quarters one evening with a neatly wrapped

package under one arm and his face beamed as he saw Trisha fresh out of the shower

standing in the bathroom. "Looks like I arrived home to late again." Jonathon said as he

leaned against the doorframe. Trisha startled by the sudden words shrieked and pulled

her towel tight around herself, when she realized it was only Jonathon she dropped the

towel and leapt at him with a mock growl. This time she caught him by surprise

flattening him to the ground with her lunge. "How many times have I told you not to

sneak up on me?" She scolded, doing her best to sound upset, but her smile gave her

away. Jonathon just laughed releasing the package he was still holding and wrapping

his arms around her. Trisha started laughing too, and then she grabbed his shirt collar

and lifted his head to meet hers in a kiss. They parted and got to their feet Jonathon

brushing off the front of his now damp uniform. "I brought you something my love." He

said hoisting the package he had been carrying.

Trisha quickly opened the parcel tearing away the paper with her sharp claws. A gasp

escaped her lips when she revealed the contents. "It's lovely." She cried almost in tears.

"Well go try it on," Jonathon said motioning toward the bathroom, "I hope it fits I had the

Base Outfitter make it specially for you." Trisha almost bounded into the bathroom and

closed the door behind her. When she stepped out again it was all Jonathon could do to

keep his jaw from dropping to the floor. Standing there before him was the picture of

beauty. The uniform fit her like a glove. Trisha looked at him grinning amused by the

look of awe on his face. " That good is it?" she said running her paw hands over the

material her tail cutting the air soundlessly behind her.

Jonathon managed to gather his thoughts, "You look absolutely stunning. It really suits

you and you'll fit right in around the base."

"Thank you, I have been starting to go a little stir crazy being stuck in here when you are

gone."

"Speaking of my being gone, my squadron is due to leave on sector patrol tomorrow.

We will be gone most of the day, so you can wander around the base, but stay clear of

the hangers. I don't think I could forgive myself if you got hurt." Jonathon told his love.

"What if I need to get in touch with you?" Trisha questioned a worried tone in her voice.

"You can reach me on the com. system, just push this button and tell the dispatcher who

answers who you want to contact."

"Ok, then but I worry about you."

"Don't be, most of the time nothing ever happens on patrol we just fly the boundary and

come home. Anyway we have all of tonight to be together, and I wouldn't be anywhere

else right now." Jonathon answered calmly looking into Trisha's deep yellow eyes.

They met each other in a deep kiss and the rest of the world seemed to melt away from

around them. They spent the night together rolling around in bed, Jonathon knew he

would be tired in the morning for duty but he didn't care.

Trisha awoke the next morning to find Jonathon already gone, a note left for her on the

table. She tucked her robe around her closer and wiped away the last of the sleep from

her eyes before reading the note he had left her.

My Love,

You looked so beautiful this morning in your sleep that I could not bring my self to

wake you, so I kissed you cheek and left this for you. Have some breakfast and

a wander around the base if you wish and if you get lost just ask the computer to

help you. Keep safe in my absence and know that I care for you more than

anything. I will be home as soon as I can so do not worry. Yours forever.

All my Love, Jonathon

Trisha wiped a tear from her eye as she laid the letter on the table, she rose thinking "I

need a good hot shower." So she walk to the bathroom to find her towel resting on top

of her neatly folded clothes and a single rose atop them both. She smiled to herself he

really did love her all that much. After her shower Trisha got dressed and had a light

breakfast. She was just finishing cleaning up when she heard a knock on the door.

"Who is it?" Trisha asked

"It's Commander Gerlton, ma'am I have some data for Jonathon to look over when he

returns. May I come in?" the voice from the other side of the door answered with a

husky tone in its voice.

"Yes, come in Commander." Trisha answered as she lent on the kitchen counter.

The door opened with a quiet hiss and Commander Gerlton walked in, Trisha nearly fell

over when she saw him, standing in her living room was a tall uniformed werewolf with

coal black fur and warm yellow eyes. Trisha just stood open mouthed and in shock, she

had never seen another werewolf before except for the one that bit her that is.

Commander Gerlton just smiled at her as he set the data pads he was carrying on the

table. "I don't suppose that you have seen another werewolf before now have you?" He

asked calmly. Trisha just shook her head to stunned to say anything at that point. "Well

I'm sorry if I up set you miss. Have a nice day." He tipped his hat and turned to leave

when Trisha finally got a hold of herself. "Wait, Commander. I'm sorry but I didn't

expect to see another one of us, especially not out here." Trisha managed to say.

Gerlton smiled at her again, "No, I don't suppose anyone would expect to met a

werewolf out here on the moon. There are actually two were's in the ASL myself and

Commander Jeffery Tunstan."

"Well what do I call you, I mean Commander Gerlton is so formal?"

"My name is Alex."

"Well Alex do know where a lady werewolf could get a good view of earth from here?"

Alex Laughed and explained to Trisha where the best views could be found. He made

sure to caution her again about staying away from the hanger areas.

"Echo one, confirm operations normal," The voice said, "Echo one, Echo one this is ASL

approach. Echo two still no contact with Echo one can you reach him."

"Stand by ASL approach, Echo one this is Echo two, Jonathon do you copy?"

The sound of his name snapped Jonathon's attention back to the real world, "ASL

approach this Echo one, and affirm Ops normal."

"Roger Echo One ops normal next report at time four five, ASL approach out."

Jonathon was sitting in the cockpit of his star fighter; his mind had been constantly

wandering back to his love. "Snap out of it man, just keep your mind on the job and get

it over with." Jonathon rebuked himself mentally for missing something so simple as the

hourly ops normal call. He looked at his watch then at the sector chart moving ever so

slowly on the navigation display in front of him. "Right on time," He mused aloud as the

check point light flashed on the control panel, he pushed the switch in resetting it for the

next check point. As always it was shaping up to be just a routine run around the sector

boundary nothing out of the ordinary. Jonathon settled back into his command seat

pushing out against the safety harness for a bit of a stretch, these seat were always

uncomfortable during a long patrol mission. He had surprised himself even when he

found that his mind had been able to wander off. The routine continued for most of the

flight, checking this or logging that.

Jonathon sipped a cup of coffee that he had brought with him for the long flight. It

always gave him a sense of fulfillment when he made the halfway point of the patrol

route, and so he always had his coffee at this time. Again he checked his watch,

"Damn," he thought to himself nearly a minute late. He set down his coffee cup and

edged the throttles forward, rewarded by a push backward in his seat. Even against the

inertial dampening field of the fighter its big engines made their presents felt. "That

aught to do it," he said mentally as the power gauges ticked up to eighty percent before

stabilizing. After all a seventy-five percent power cruise was always a little slow against

the solar winds out this after. Jonathon settled back into his chair contented to hopefully

finish his coffee without further interruption, a subtle beep, beep caught his attention. He

looked over his right shoulder to see the incoming transmission light blinking at him. He

looked at his watch, ah four five; he picked up the small ear peace and boom mike.

"ASL Approach, Echo one ops normal call again four five." He said. There was a short

pause then a female voice was heard through the earphone. "Roger Echo one next call

time four five."

"Perfect," he thought to himself as he unlocked his chair from the forward facing position

swiveling it to face the COM screen. He flipped on the switch and pressed the accept

key. The screen flashed to life, and he was looking into the eyes of the one he loved.

"Hi there," Trisha said to him a little shocked at the sudden appearance of his face on

the monitor she was sitting by.

Jonathon smiled, "I guess I forgot to mention that any call you place to a ship is a video

call as well as audio didn't I?"

"Yes, and you also forgot to tell me that you knew about werewolves before I changed in

front of you." Trish said in a mock hurt tone.

"Oh, I'm sorry my love but I did not want to tell you about that before because I would

have looked like an absolute fool if I had been wrong, and I did not want to put you in

danger. So can you forgive me, Please?"

"Oh, you worry to much. Anyway of coarse I forgive you I was only playing with you."

Trisha smiled as she watched his reaction change from worried to shock then finally to a

laugh.

"All right you got me, so who stopped by anyway."

"It was Alex who dropped in, he left some data pad things for you to look at when you

get back here. And I have something for you to review as well upon your return, my

dear."

Jonathon's smiled widened at the sound of her voice so soft and gentle yet still with a

trace of the animal in her, that was the part about it he loved most.

"Where are you anyway, Jonathon?"

"Well, I just rounded the halfway mark about ten minutes ago so I should be only about

four hours from base and four and a half from you." This time Trisha smiled giggling a

little at the playful tone he used.

"Take care my love." Jonathon said to end the conversation

"You to Jonathon." Trisha answered her voice full of tension.

Jonathon flipped off the screen and swung his chair forward again only stopping with a

heavy clunk as it locked into position.

Jonathon caught himself drifting off again and shook his head to dispel any drowsiness

that remained. A sudden peeling alarm had his eyes snapping up to the overhead

switch panel, a red warning light flashing down at him. An audio alert sounded

repeatedly, "Warning Proximity alert, Warning Proximity alert." The neutral voice

commanded attention. Jonathon stared at the view screen in front of him there was

nothing there, then a slight glimmer of reflected light and again. He shifted the image to

infrared mode and there it was a small meteorite closing in on his wing. Jonathon

grabbed the joystick with his right hand and pushed the throttles to full with the other, but

all to late the sound of rock and ice as it torn into the left wing near its root. Jonathon

shuddered at the sound trying not to visualize the damage it was causing. The sound

ebbed away as suddenly as it had begun, but something was very wrong even with the

hydraulics dampening out the forces Jonathon could feel a definite shimmy in the

controls of his ship and he knew it was bad. Before he had time to do anything one

alarm then two and finally a third sounded in the Cockpit which now felt small and utterly

insignificant in the vastness of space. "Warning Engine one Offline, Warning Engine one

Offline, Warning Left wing damaged failure eminent." Spoke the still neutral voice of the

computer. Jonathon smiled slightly at the thought that no matter how bad things got the

voice of the computer made it sound a little better than it was. He throttled back knowing

the extra power from the remaining three engines was not worth the added fuel burn

required to keep them there. He picked up the small boom mike and earpiece with a

slightly shaky hand. With skill born out of long practice and necessity all the anxiety left

his voice as he pushed the transmit switch, "ASL Approach Echo one Mayday, Mayday,

Mayday, Two engines offline, left wing failing. She won't hold together much longer."

"Echo one, ASL approach copy your mayday, Eject, Eject, Eject. Shuttle SS-4 is en-

route to your location for recovery." The female voice on the other end of the COM once

so stable and at ease now sounded tense and unsure.

"Echo one, Negative on eject. If I eject now the ship will crash into a city on RP 3562 I

can not let that happen."

A sigh was audible through the headset he wore, "Echo one ASL approach copied your

last, and inform when able to eject."

Jonathon found himself having to hold increasing amounts of right pressure on the

joystick to keep his machine upright, and it was wearing on his nerves a cold sweat

dripped continuously from his forehead. His mind racing from the present to the

conversation he had with his beloved only a short time ago. An audible chime broke the

silence Jonathon looked down to see the words, "clear of conflict," Flashing in green on

the screen in front of him. He smiled at the sight of it, "ASL Approach Echo one clear of

conflict, Bailing Out."

"Roger that, activate emergency beacon when clear." The female voice replied with an

obvious sigh of relief.

"Copy that, activate beacon when clear. Echo one off coms."

Jonathon tightened his safety harness and without looking raised the red and white

striped cover pushing the button that lay underneath labeled "EJECT". He was

rewarded with a series of loud pops as the bonds that held the cockpit to the rest of the

ship blow themselves apart with internal charges, after the last pop sounded the silence

that followed seemed to last for an eternity. Only to be shattered by the roar and hard

thrust it his seat as a rocket ignited propelling him and the cockpit away from the

damaged ship. The rocket fizzled out and the automatic stabilizing system took over

holding the cockpit in position. Jonathon blew his cheeks out with a sigh of relief, he

was still alive and may yet see his love again. His safety harness released his a click

and the gravity generator kept him firmly in his seat doing its job as always, Jonathon

turned around half leaving his seat to press the button for the emergency beacon all

fighters carried. His eyes narrowed as a blinding flash reached them, his mind didn't

have time to register that his ship or what was left of it had exploded. The tiny cockpit

shuddered as the shockwave approached, and Jonathon made a desperate lunge for

the button his fingers missed there target by an inch as the shockwave broke on the

small craft. Jonathon without his safety harness was thrown about the interior like a rag

doll, slamming into this panel or that ledge relentlessly and with nearly unspeakable

force. The stabilization system fought hard to regain control of the tumbling cockpit;

Jonathon could feel his injuries as they occurred everything happening as if in slow

motion. The cockpit finally came to a halt its tumbling over, Jonathon slid down a wall

slumping to the floor his breathing coming in short gasps and then only with difficulty.

He could feel the pain in his chest from the broken ribs, his arm hung limp at his side

blood, stained his uniform from the cuts on his arms. His vision cleared enough to see

through the trickle of blood running down his face from a gash over his eye, his target

was clear he had to activate the emergency beacon or he would die long before any

rescue found him out here. His chest burned like fire as he crawled across the floor to

the panel that held the button he reached up and pressed it his last reserves of strength

leaving him, the last thing he remembered hearing was the first set of pulses from the

beacon. Darkness clutched at his mind and he felt consciousness slide away from his

reach as a dream when held to tightly.

Trisha paced the floor of her living room, where was he, four hours and half hours had

come and gone. She had tried to reach him on the video COM but there was no signal.

Still she paced the floor her mind a seemingly endless jumble of thoughts all prying for

her attention, he was probably just running late or maybe he was just in a meeting back

on base. Yes it had to be one of those; she looked down at herself and realized that she

had been wringing her hands. She stopped and took a few deep breaths wither eyes

tight shut to calm her unsteadied nerves, "I need a coffee," she sighed to herself. She

just finished pouring her cup and inhaled the steaming contents with a sigh of relief,

when the doorbell peeled. Trisha looked up briefly annoyed be the disturbance, but the

thought that whoever it was might have word about Jonathon forced her to put her cup

down and start towards the door. "Who is it?" She asked trying to hide the anxiety in her

voice.

"Ma'am it's Alex, may I come in please?" Alex said from behind the door hoping that it

would mask the tension in his voice.

"Oh, come in Alex."

The door once again slid open and Alex stepped inside the room. Trisha came forward

to meet him, but she stopped halfway the smile quickly fading from her features. The

look of sorrow and dread on his face spoke volumes to her, she quickly had to sit down

or risk falling over from the shock.

"Miss Trisha, I don't know how to tell you this," he paused clearly finding this situation

difficult, "Jonathon's ship the Echo one radioed in an emergency about four hours ago,

and the rescue ship has just arrived on the seen. We could word he is still alive but was

hurt pretty badly. They should be arriving back here in the next hour."

"Where will they take him?" Trisha pleaded tears beginning to well in hear eyes.

"He'll be taken to the base hospital."

"Will you take me there please?"

"Ma'am he won't be there for an hour, maybe"

"Just take me there, Alex." Trisha screamed at him cutting him off.

Alex lowered his ears, "Yes miss, follow me."

It took only a few minutes to arrive at the hospital, Alex walked in with Trisha leaning

against his shoulder sobbing uncontrollably at the thought she might lose her love. Alex

sat her down in a private office then found one of the on duty nurses, who he instructed

to inform Trisha when Jonathon arrived. The nurse assured him she would and he

walked out ears and tail hanging low a solemn expression on his face.

A gentle rocking of her shoulder wakened Trisha; she raised her head sniffling to dispel

the last of her tears. Her face was meet by the kind eyes of a human nurse, "Miss they

just arrived back, they were able to repair most of his injuries on the way in but for the

rest time only time will tell." The nurse explained to her, handing Trisha a cup of coffee

as she did so.

"Thank you," Trisha replied sipping the warm drink, "Can I see him yet?"

"Yes, follow me and I'll take you to his room."

Trisha followed the nurse through the near empty halls of the hospital to the room where

Jonathon was. When Trisha entered the room fresh tears started to flow down the fur of

her face around her muzzle to the floor. Softly she padded over to him she looked down

at him lying in that bed, one arm held immobile with a sling the other resting at his side.

His face was a mass of bruises of varying sizes and colors; a small tube ran under his

nose delivering him oxygen.

"I'll leave the two of you alone, he will need you and your love now more than ever." The

nurse said softly as she left the room, pulling the door shut with a slight click.

Trisha pulled a chair alongside Jonathon's bed and slumped into it, holding is hand

crying softly until she had cried herself to sleep.

The next thing that Jonathon's mind registered was a steady beeping; he flexed his hand

before opening his eyes. As he did so his hand brushed against the soft warm fur of

Trisha's neck. Trisha stirred but did not wake still tired from sitting by him crying.

Jonathon opened his eyes the beeping had been the heart monitor pulsing away in time

with his own heart. He looked down the bed to where Trisha's head lay next to his

chest; he began to softly stroke her head fur happy and content to be alive and with his

love again. Trisha emitted soft moans in her sleep; Jonathon could plainly see the dark

tracks left on her face from all the tears she had shed. Trisha kept sleeping thinking that

she was having a wonderful dream of her and her love sitting together by the lake as he

gently caressed her fur.

"I love you my darling," Jonathon whispered to Trisha as he lay in the hospital bed all the

pain forgotten, his world at peace.

Trisha awoke at the sound of his voice, and raised her head slowly from its resting place.

Her eyes meeting his, as they beamed his love for her, "Hi there, have you been here all

night?"

Trisha just nodded at him fresh tears welling in her eyes, she stood and leaned in to hug

him as best she could planting a kiss on his forehead as she did so.

"I was so worried about you when you didn't come home," Trisha managed between

sobs.

"Hey, now." Jonathon started, "It will take more than my fighter exploding in the middle of

space and getting nearly beat to death to keep me from coming back to you." He

laughed than winced as he jarred his still sore ribs. Drawing yet another sob from his

love at the sound of his pain.

"Tell me something my love." Jonathon said raising his head and doing his best to sit up.

"Anything Jonathon."

"Do were's heal faster than normal people?"

"I ...I think so why?"

"Well I don't think that I could stand to be different from you any longer after this. Would

you change me?"

Trisha drew back slightly, this was a question she had hoped he would ask one day but

not when he was lying in a hospital bed.

"Do you really mean that my love. Once done the change can never be reversed and

the wolf inside can be hard to control sometimes, but if you really want it more than

anything in your life, than yes I can."

"I do want it and I will still have you there to guide me. You are the most precious thing

in my life and I could not bear to be without you."

Trisha leaned forward and gave Jonathon a deep passionate kiss before running her

muzzle down his neck and sinking her sharp teeth into his bruised shoulder. Jonathon

arched his back at the sudden shock of her bite, his mouth opened soundlessly before

he relaxed. His relaxation was short lived however as a tingle started to spread through

his body. The tingle mounted and grew in a fire burning in his skin as the change slowly

started to take place. Trisha held him close as the hair on his body began to lengthen

and thicken into a dark brown fur, he added another foot to his height and his eyes

formally a deep blue now glowed yellow to match those of his love. The change slowed

nearing it completion as a long tail appeared from Jonathon's lower spine. The change

complete, Jonathon looked up into the eyes of his love, "So how do I look?" He said his

voice raspy unaccustomed to his new animal vocal chords.

Trisha smiled at him, "You are still the most handsome thing I have ever laid eyes, or

fangs for that matter, on."

Jonathon returned her smile. The following few days went quickly as Jonathon

recovered faster than normal thanks to his loves gift. It took a while for the odd looks to

stop, however when he stopped someone in a hall for a report or what ever. But

eventually the people on the base got used to seeing him as a werewolf, the most

surprised looks came from Commander Alex Gerlton, even though he himself was a

werewolf.

After Jonathon had fully recovered, he faced the ASL High Council with Trisha by his

side. He announced firstly that he wanted to resign from active fighter duty and take up

instead a training position on the flight simulators at headquarters on earth. He also

stepped down as chair of the High Council nominating Commander Alex Gerlton as his

successor; oddly enough the chair of the High Council since then has always been a

werewolf. Jonathon and Trisha returned to earth at the next full moon and spend most

of their time at their house out by the lake. But for those three nights when the full moon

rises they can be found on a little island in the south pacific which houses the

headquarters for the ASL. If they are not roaming the corridors happy in each others

company they can be heard, provided you are brave enough to go outside that is,

howling there delight. The memory still lingers between them of that day when what was

so nearly a tragedy ended up being the start of a great life together.
